    Michael, always the best and most technical reviews out there. Keep it up for tech geeks like myself. I HATE when other outlets just talk about surface fluff and bolt ons that anyone can clearly see or perform. There are plenty of hardcore MX guys like myself who have an understanding of engine/chassis/suspension that want deeper content. KEEP IT UP!!!!!! THANK YOU!!

    I appreciate the days when motocross was in its infancy back in the 70s and there were so many revolutionary advances made and experimentation. Riders today don't know what they missed. The bikes today are practically alien technology in comparison. I DO miss the gas tanks of old that really set the different bikes apart. Now they all look so similar - just different colors.

    I really enjoy these with ML. The best I've seen.
    If teams try to make their bikes as light as possible, the AMA still has a minimum weight requirement correct?

    I love this electric waterpump idea, could see it being more beneficial in off-road to help out the 4 strokes in slow single track. With better flow, I wonder if you could also climate some of the coolant capacity or need for a fan etc. bringing size and weight down.

      They say the biggest improvement with this was how much it freed up the engine.

    So where does the power come to turn the electric water pump? From the charging system/battery of course. This extra electrical draw puts extra load on engine, reducing the power at the rear wheel. Converting mechanical power into electrical power (charging system) and then electrical power back into mechanical power (electric water pump) comes with its own losses. They probably only do it for the ease of controlling the flow. As far as keeping engine cooler, maximum power is reached when engine is nice and warm. Cool does not mean more power and I did not see many bikes boiling over with mechanical pumps.

    How much does that big external electric water pump weigh compared to the OE system? Seems like they went out of their way to save vital grams of weight on every fastener for their race bike.. Everything is a give or a take in racing I guess…
    I suppose that tiny little bit of engine characteristic , & better cooling are worth it. They should make the housing and the internals on that thing out of titanium. It’s not like Star can’t afford it😆. Good run down though thx

    Why are the spokes tie wired together

    • @caydenthompson126
      @caydenthompson126 2 года назад

      In case something happens in the race and a spoke(s) breaks then it won't damage other parts of the bike. It will just be held in place.

    So when are active KYB Shox coming to these fire breathers? You got electronic water pumps, EFI, DOHC, Dual injectors, launch control, flux capacitors, etc.,etc..... I mean shit...why not active shocks?
