So because western medical doctors don't know how to read and interpret thyroid labs we shouldn't take a higher dose? BAD and dangerous advice. I went severely hypo and NDT or T3 only wasn't bringing up my heart rate. I sat around 43bpm walking and less when sitting.... began to develop severe problems. Adding more medication to push or speed my metabolism is dangerous. After extensive research and having an alternative medical degree, quickly I knew it was bromide toxicity and low iodine. I've been taking without labs or urine testing because 90 percent of mainstream doctors of idiots and don't know or are scared to test, I started taking 50-75mg daily. Finally my heart rate has stabilized. I am having detox symptoms as expected and that's from the bromide. To advise people not to take that amount is just wrong. AT that amount they'll just piss it out if they're tissues and glands are saturated with the iodine.

That Iodine gel is called betadine.
Years ago, while in a hospital, I heard of a case where a lifelong disabled person who needed multiple surgeries became allergic to betadine from the use of it to prep for surgery.
I think that's why it isn't used as much anymore.
It's interesting how Iodine is used to disinfect things. I was using a dropperful of Lugol's Iodine in my wash water basin to disinfect fresh vegetables I was using for juicing and for salads. I alternated with using a 1/8 cup of diluted food grade hydrogen peroxide.
I used to take 2 to 6 drops of Lugol's Iodine in my juices daily, along with 60 mg of Armour Thyroid. I did this for 3 years.
Now my thyroid is better, and I switched to putting a heaping Tablespoon of Dulse in my smoothies.

One brand makes a dose of 3000mcg, and other brand makes a dose of 250mcg, you’re saying that 12.5mg is safe, so please explain why anyone would make a dose as low as 250mcg ?
Is it because of the RDA @ 200mcg average ?
    A 1oz bottle is supposed to last 15 months @ 250mcg per day, 2 drops. That’s 158,750mcg for the 15 months.
Which is 158.75MG total for the 15 months.
The Japanese consume minimum of 12.5MG per day.
Which is 5687.5MG for the 15 months. MINIMUM
    5687.5mg - 158.75mg = 5528.75mg difference for the 25 months.
Why such a huge gap if it’s so safe at 12.5mg - 25mg per day ?
Another question I have is, has anyone had any side effects for ingesting one or two drops?
    If yes, what happened ?
