  • The Burail Khalsa Fort, located in Sector 45 of Chandigarh, was once inhabited by Vanjara Sikhs in the 16th century under the guidance of Guru Nanak Patshah. During the 18th century, this fort served as a strategic location for General Banda Singh Bahadur and General Baj Singh Vanjara (the owner of Bangeshwari Tanda and nephew of Bhai Mani Singh) as they fought against the Mughal forces, as mentioned in Sikh chronicles. As a tribute to these valiant warriors, a Gurdwara Killa Sahib has been established at this site. Recently, Bhai Jai Ram Pawar from Maharashtra also visited this fort. There are several other Khalsa forts in the vicinity of Chandigarh, and their descriptions will be provided soon.
