  • The Khalsa Fort, situated in Sector 45 of Chandigarh, was previously occupied by Vanjara Sikhs in the 16th century under the guidance of Guru Nanak Patshah. During the 18th century, this fort served as a strategic location for General Banda Singh Bahadur and General Baj Singh Vanjara (the owner of Bangeshwari Tanda and nephew of Bhai Mani Singh) as they fought against the Mughal forces, as mentioned in Sikh chronicles. Recently, a Gurdwara Killa Sahib was established at this site as a memorial to honor these brave warriors. Bhai Jai Ram Pawar, a Sikh from Maharashtra, also visited this fort.
