its not because of overheating. the oca sheets he is using have uneven thickness so theres certain points of the display where theres more pressure on the screen, causing the backlight bleed. this is why most manufacturers(apple,samsung,etc.) have switched back to the liquid loca (even though its a more costly process) because oca was giving bad yields. for the refurbishers, they still use oca because since they do all the work manually, its less error prone than loca.

I could understand being lazy and not disconnecting the battery when its hidden elsewhere under the heat shield but its literally right there. One screw, shim the terminal.. disconnect battery. Why take the chance. A lot of the newer iPads are especially sensitive and almost designed to fail if you unplug/reconnect those FPC's with the battery connected. Another 5 seconds keeps you from gambling with a customers device.

I noticed that too. Not bad though i'd say it was passable. Heat needs to be under 75C in my experience for no waves.
