    That’s a plus. Getting my Legend delivered this week and look forward to hunting with it. My simplex has always served me well but as you demonstrated, it will false a lot in iron. Another good video.

    I agree with you. I hunt some trashy areas and all that falling drives me nuts on my Simplex.

    Good to hear about the iron, I was out with the Simplex Saturday for 3 hours , iron everywhere getting fed up of digging lots of deep iron. Plus the Legend has got updates coming just as the simplex had.👍

    That comparison pretty much shows why I ordered a legend... and exposes the one big problem I have with my simplex and that is in the heavy trash Parks like your backyard they can give you a headache after a while. Huge difference with the legend and a great comparison to the simplex.

    So. Watched this video multiple times. Over a month later I'm revisiting and I caught it. You put it more perfectly than I could think it Jeremy!

    Enough said.

    • @PaystreakSuperfreak

      The Legend outperforms the Simplex in every aspect. Iron , EMI, trash, hot soil. I am still not sure if the Legend hits deeper targets yet. I do know that the Legend needs a 9" coil. The LG28 makes the detector nose heavy, the Simplex seems a little bit more center balanced comparing the 11" coils.

    • @ilovevag8437
      @ilovevag8437 2 года назад

      @@PaystreakSuperfreak Agreed. I've pulled the simplex out to compare. I put it down and keep at it with the Legend.
      I'm just pissed as I ran out to get the 11" Legend. You get the 6" and looks awesome. And they are only coming with the pro packs. Sucks for me dude. I need! Will take the 6" or any other option they make available.
      Did pull a 2" × 1.5" relic a legit 12" down. Park,full gain, recovery speed 5 in multi 1. A copper pocket watch fob, lying flat. My best relic find and has the most beautiful patina there could be.

    Just getting into metal detecting, bought a Bounty Hunter IV before I knew anything, was planning on hunting beaches only to find out that model doesn't work in salt water, was looking to upgrade to the simplex. Great video on the big difference between the legend and the simplex. Still might go with the simplex just for the price point, especially if I can get a used one. Again thanks for the great video!

    Great video! I recently got the simple simplex,,it does go deep and love deep nails, but also deep coins. For $ 254 cant beat it ! Will get the Legend when I can afford it though. Just remember though no matter what ma hine you have, a slow one,fast one, deep one shallow one, ugly one, pretty one, at the end of the day its night.

    In the 70s through 80s I used old-school analog Whites machines that clearly pinpointed targets, all without the erratic irritating sounds of these new detectors finding coins dating back to the late 1700s. From my experience the longer coins have been in the ground the deeper they'll detect, I found 1893 Barbara dime at 11 inches in a trashy nail infested area. Though I love the Simplex using the slower sweeping speed of the older Whites machines circuitry without the erratic falsing sounds and noticeable delay in processing of the newer technology is still the best way to go in my opinion.

      Tem um detalhe é que esse teste não corresponde a maioria do solo. Está carregado de partículas de ferro impossibilitando a detecção. Nem o de 30 anos e nem o atual conseguirá essa façanha. Não espere milagre meu amigo.

    We share different experiences when it comes to the simplex. I don't have a problem with mine having me dig nails like that doing most of my detecting between 2 steel mill dumping grounds in the hood...Mclouth and u.s. steel in the burbs south of det..mi. this is some trashy area I live in and the Plex has been pretty good here. It has given me no need for a better machine as of yet. Not claiming it's perfect...it does the job. Sorry to hear your experience isn't as good...hh & get them gold rings with any of those fine machines in your arsenal!

    there is talks of 4 coils for the legend one will be like the sp 24 coil on the simplex and simplex will always be a good detector i think when i hear new people wanting to get into detecting i recommend it i wish the level and price of the simplex was around when i first started detecting simplex is good choice but legend is the new game changer

    Jeremy theres no shame in retiring the Simplex man. You gave RUclips so many entertaining videos. You represented the Simplex well and you said it....... Youre not going to realistically be using the Simplex anymore when The Legend has superceded it.. You've evolved.. Thanks for all the cool memories but hey.... The time has come to lower the flag and hoist up a new era that is the Legend.. Great job brother!

    Crazy how tesoro tho no longer in business will nock out iron and still find deep good targets . The vaquero, the silver umax, even the tiger shark . And differently, the Tejon. I have even found the cz21 fisher to be fantastic on discriminating iron and hitting good targets. I bought a simplex and have the same issue with mine on iron and I have noticed it will read as a good target in the 80s vdi on big iron.

      The Simplex is good for coins in moderate trash, but in not extreme trash or iron. 3 tone is just not enough to get through the dense trash these days.

  • @peterrobinson5438

  • @dfdigger3820

    Got a question ? On the Simplex, did you have any notched out for iron ? I run with the 1st 3 notched out and the last one. I still get nails lol, but also good iron like horseshoes, ox shoes, axes, and sure it would pick up a gun. My soil up here isn't mineralized bad even in the river I hunt. But, Those notched out make it so much quieter to me. Your thoughts ?

    • @PaystreakSuperfreak
      @PaystreakSuperfreak  2 года назад +2

      It does quiet the machine if you notch to 1st 3 bars. 1st 3 bars is all of the iron and mineral tones. You will definitely dig more nails if you have the iron notched out. If you notch the last bar out, you will surely miss most of the big coins and all silver half dollars. Discrimination notching is in segments of 5 on the Simplex. If you notch all of the big junk out, you are notching silver coins out too. Simplex does not have fine notching like other machines.

  • @markdoehrman4447

    Update on 2.78 version. I'm finding it to be very jumpy,choppy breaking tones with horrible ID,,actually alot more jumpy than my Eurotek Pro. Example dug a 5"nickle in clean ground,,I thought I was digging a trash signal,,very jumpy id,,going to iron to the high 50s, no consistent ID in any mode,,I only dug it to find out if the machine knew how to tell the truth,lol,,and the tones were always breaking,,both nickle I found that night were that way. Seems to like deeper coppers though. Any thoughts on nickles and stabilbilty?

    • @PaystreakSuperfreak
      @PaystreakSuperfreak  2 года назад +1

      Nickels are always jumpy tones on the Simplex. Simplex tone breaks are very near that nickel range. My thoughts is you have to dig everything with all machines anyway. Rings and coins on edge will sound iffy with all machines.

  • @8kallday591
    @8kallday591 2 года назад +3

    Back the tone break down on the Legend until it’s not missing the gold chain and then test the nails. Seems like you’re gonna be digging both or neither one.

      The Simplex is a fantastic relic machine. I would say the Simplex is a much better relic machine than the Legend just from my testing so far. Whites V-series are not waterproof and very difficult to get parts for.

    Se deparar com um solo desse, o conselho que dou é, sai correndo😅. Tenho uma experiência com relação a esse tipo de solo: certo dia fui até um quintal carregado de óxido de ferro e arames ferroso bem pequenos. Começei a desenterrar esses pequenos arames de ferro propositalmente e apareceu uma moeda de inox. Moral da história, se não fizer a limpeza nunca chegará ao tão sonhado material nobre. Mas não vale a pena perder tanto tempo, melhor procurar outro local, principalmente quando tem opção.

      I have found many great finds in that iron in my back yard. 1935 silver dime, buffalo nickel and some very nice old toy cars. I hunt many places that have just as much iron and still hunt them often finding targets every hunt. It just takes time to learn the sites.

    I hope whatever weaknesses this machine may have can be addressed with updates because who wouldn't want a machine that is built better,and performs as well as the $1000 machine for $700? Everyone who has their hands on one of these should be doing everything they can to help Nokta dial this thing in,it will only benefit detectorists in the long run! Not everyone wants to,or can afford to spend $1700 on a detector!! Do like Jeremy and welcome this machine with an open mind and a positive attitude,leave the preconceived notions and biases where they belong.....in the toilet!
