    I never used disc on my mxt pro. Moving off the target and swing speed told me of there was iron. Experience is the best teacher. Thanks

      Thanks for sharing!! I can explain til I am blue in the face. The best way to learn is from personal experience. I used MXT Pro for a long time. I love that detector.

    My small town has about 20 parks. Most guys who have detected here over the years have used discrimination religiously because we live in a steel town........there's a lot of iron waste around. Anyway, I've found no less than THREE unknown old home sites in three different parks that were loaded with old silver just because I listen for iron and I even dig it up on purpose from time to time in concentrated areas. Everyone else before me walked over them and missed the silvers due to discrimination making the small iron silent and the silver sound like disc'd large iron that they wouldn't dig. Just like you see in this video. So don't knock out the iron! Unless you live in my town in which case keep it up. :)

    wow. its amazing how much more you can hear with the deus 2 though ,, I have the legend always on all metal with my tone break mostly at 10 but have raised it up a few times because it becomes so overwhelming with every single target. but I know the lower the better

      @PaystreakSuperfreak 6 месяцев назад +1

      If you put the discrimination pattern to G. This notches out the loud tones of the soil.

    Alot of RUclipsrs I've seen who upgraded to the Deus 2 really seem to have given up on their legends cause it would seem like the Deus 2 is a much more capable machine (and for the price point it had better be!) I think even you had a change in opinion between the Deus 2 and Legend (more Deus 2 leaning) with subsequent updates to the firmware, compared to a year ago.

    • @PaystreakSuperfreak
      @PaystreakSuperfreak 6 месяцев назад +1

      I have changed my opinion. The Deus is so much lighter and the tones are more clearer. Yes the detectors will hit the same targets, but look how much faster I can swing with the Deus. I can swing the Deus all day long like a madman and never get tired, not the case with the Legend. The tonal combinations on the Deus 2 is endless.

    nice. maybe you could do a vid about identifying iron with the deus 2

    • @PaystreakSuperfreak
      @PaystreakSuperfreak 9 месяцев назад +1

      Identifying iron is tonal. It is almost impossible for any camera to capture the real tones of the Deus. The camera does not do the Deus justice.

    I think I only moved my tone break on the legend once, because it was where cigarette smokers hang out 24/7 you know what that means right, ...... It means foil, and more foil, and more foil, in layers and layers

    Hey, each complete 12oz aluminum can is worth 5 cents in CA! 😅

    • @PaystreakSuperfreak

      Cans and plastic bottles are worth 10 cents in Oregon, but a dime is also worth 10 cents. I can only fit 1 can in my bag and my bag is full, I can fit 50 dimes in my bag. The homeless will dig through the trash and gather the bottles/cans to take to the bottle return.

    Does it make sense to just keep it in all metal all the time? I must admit tone break confuses me, I don't under stand how it works or helps me. I use the Legend and don't disc out.

    • @MrBottlecapBill
      @MrBottlecapBill 9 месяцев назад +2

      You could certainly keep it in all metal if your ground allows for it. If it doesn't you may get a lot of background noise from the minerals in the soil. I also have to run the G pattern in my area due to the soil. The tone break just changes the level at which you get a low tone(often called iron tone). So if you set it to 10, any target that hits a number of 10 or under will have a low tone. If you raise it to 25........anything 25 and under will have a low tone. It's just a tool you can use to help you discriminate audibly. A lot of coin hunters will raise it up so anything that isn't a possible coin will just have a low tone they can ignore for example. This way you know to ignore those targets as unwanted BUT you also get to hear the target concentration which lets you know if you're on a hot spot where you may want to change your settings and you can also tell if larger iron that may hit above your tone break like a coin would, is actually iron. Like shown in this video. Depending on which tone pattern you pick you can also set all the other tone breaks(not just the low tone) to your liking as well. Not many people bother with that however.

      I really appreciate the advice. Here in Mpls the ground usually allows for all metal mode, but not always. I also need more practice......@@MrBottlecapBill
