ASMR is all the rage, but YOU are the best thing about your channel. I missed your commentary today. It's a beautiful sunny summer in eastern Canada (New Brunswick)! Everything is blooming about three weeks earlier than usual!
Thank you so much for your sweet words! It’s wonderful to hear from you all the way from New Brunswick. Wow, blooming three weeks earlier must make for an incredibly vibrant and beautiful summer! I appreciate your support and am so glad you enjoy the channel. Your feedback means a lot to me. Sending sunny wishes from Dublin! 🌞🌸
❤ Hi Catherine, I love it when you chat throughout the whole video! Your chatting is a large part of a most delightful video! Please don’t stop chatting! Love you…❤
We're here in sunny and hottt South Carolina, USA! We are in the "Golden Corner", northwest, near the beginning of the Appalachian Trail. We are considered to be in zone 7 and 8 as we are at the foothills of the mountains which get cooler temps than the rest of the state in the winter months. But, we get incredibly hot summers indeed! I am blessed to have been born and raised here. And, I have a cottage style home, nearing 100yo in an older neighborhood with lots of massive trees. I love working in the beds and delighting in the sounds, like you, of birds, children playing, hoot owls, and the sweet smells of the garden! Many blessings as your book is taking off! Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your enchanting world!
Hello from Dublin! 🌞 It sounds absolutely beautiful where you are in South Carolina, right at the foothills of the Appalachian Trail. Your cottage-style home and the older neighborhood with massive trees sound so charming and full of character. I can just imagine the joy of working in your garden and being surrounded by the delightful sounds and sweet smells. Many blessings to you as well, and thank you so much for your kind words and support. It means the world to me to have you as part of this enchanting journey! 🌷✨
So impressed with the way you take care of your garden Catherine - you should seriously have your own column in House & Garden magazine! Hope you’ve been well!😊
I have grown weary of ASMR on the cooking shows as it brought back memories as a teen of my Dad banging pots & pans and tapping spoons 100x til I was awake!! Ugh!! But ASMR in the garden is lovely!! Thank you!! Also I’m from Georgia 🇺🇸 USA! ❤
🙋♀️ I rescued a poorly geranium a few weeks back. It now is thriving with 2 full flower heads and several bud pods!! Who knew I could nurse it back to health. I’d like to take the credit but, Catherine thank you for helping me with my confidence. 🌸
🙋♀️ Wow, that’s fantastic to hear! I’m so thrilled to know your rescued geranium is thriving. You did an amazing job nursing it back to health, and I’m so happy I could help boost your confidence. Keep up the great work, and happy gardening! 🌸😊
I’m in Australia. It’s the middle of winter here. While we’ve had some cold, wet days, we can’t complain. Winters are pretty mild here on the east coast. I’m trying to shake off the flu, so thankfully I was able to sit out in the garden to soak up the sunshine this morning, with a cup of tea. We’re expecting highs of 18-20°C this week. I love seeing how other people around the world live too.
I hope you’re feeling better soon! It’s great that you could enjoy some sunshine in the garden while recovering from the flu. Mild winter weather and a cup of tea sound perfect for boosting your spirits. 🌞🍵 I’m glad you enjoy seeing how others live around the world-it’s one of the best parts of sharing gardening experiences. Take care and enjoy those pleasant temperatures! 🌿😊
Hello , Catherine! I'm sending my hello from Athens Greece. We've been having a heatwave for about 20 days now. We're talking in the 40s, Celsius. It's been tragic. If I had the the power I would love to send you some of it. I've been watching you for a while now and enjoy all of your inspiration, thank you for all that. You have a beautiful country and since I am also American and grew up in the USA, admiring your beautiful garden brings me memories from my younger years. Now I have a rooftop garden ,very difficult conditions, so you can imagine the keeping up. Anyway, I'm trying. Please, I do enjoy your talking through the videos. Have a great rest of the summer!!
Thank you so much for your kind words and support! I’m glad to hear that the videos bring you inspiration and fond memories. Managing a rooftop garden under tough conditions must be quite a challenge, but your dedication is impressive. I hope the heatwave eases soon for you. Thanks again for watching and sharing your gardening journey! 🌿🌞💧
Hello Catherine, I live in Ontario Canada. Our weather is everything except snow right now. Some of my pots are struggling, not getting a chance to dry out . I had to say goodbye to my pansies today, I usually can keep them going until fall😢. As you say, we take what we get and be grateful and continue to enjoy our gardens and our lovely visits with you.
Hi from Uruguay! I love your garden and your honest and calm way of communicate. Here we've entered our winter the same day you've entered your summer. The climate use to be warm and humid but this winter is throwing some -5°C nights at us, which is very cold for my zone. On the bright side I may succeed with the tulips I've planted for the first time, thanks to that cold.
Hi there from Uruguay! Thank you so much for your kind words. It’s fascinating how our seasons are opposite-winter for you and summer for me. Those -5°C nights sound quite chilly for your area, but it’s wonderful to hear that your tulips might thrive because of it. Best of luck with your tulip planting, and stay warm! 🌷❄️
I'm most impressed that you wore white and didn't end up filthy. Your garden is just so different to what grows here in Queensland. We've been having cold weather, down to 5°C one morning. Impn the Fraser Coast in Queensland which is sub tropical.
Hey Catherine, loved seeing your garden today. I live in Melbourne, Australia 🐨🇦🇺 and it’s been a super cold Winter. Spring isn’t far away now. I’m looking forward to my bulb display. Hopefully not too hot a Spring. Love your garden!! 😊
Lovely seeing how many people from all over the world follow you Catherine. I’m from south county Dublin. We share the same weather. Love this time of year. Hydrangeas are beautiful Great colour in the garden. Of course the snails 🐌 are my enemies, they eat a pot of new plants in one night. As always beautiful calming video tks a mil ❤
Thank you so much for your lovely comment! It’s wonderful to hear from fellow gardeners in South County Dublin. I’m glad you’re enjoying the hydrangeas and the vibrant garden colors this time of year. I completely understand the struggle with snails-those little pests can be quite a challenge! I’m happy you found the video calming. Thanks a million for your support and kind words! ❤🌿😊
Catherine I love to hear your voice letting us know what kind of plant and what you are doing. Not a blower. Everything is lovely and neat. Apple tree location is perfect. Have you thought about elevating your rectangle pots with bricks to help with the plant dolly. That is a great tool. Teasel is giant but they have beautiful seed heads. Thanks for the video. Have a great week. Watching from the Dallas, Texas area finally had a beautiful rain today and a low temperature 83F. (28C) Sure beats 100F.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment! I’m glad you enjoy hearing about the plants and what I’m doing-it’s great to know it adds to the experience. Elevating the rectangular pots with bricks is a fantastic idea; I’ll definitely consider it. I’m also pleased you enjoyed the teaseal and its beautiful seed heads. It’s wonderful to hear you got some much-needed rain and a cooler temperature in Dallas. Have a great week too, and thanks for watching! 🌧️🌿😊
I write from Ontario, Canada, where we have been alternating between lots of rain and lots of hot humidity. I have found that my gardens go from stages of exciting expansion - to responsibility and burden, when the garden owns me. Such a narrow line between! All it takes is life events, illness, poor weather and I'm in a bad way. When things are good and easy, don't they just look beautiful! Then comes the season change and we start all over again. I used to think I had to do it all on the first good spring weekend, which was a recipe for feeling like a failure. This spring I had to get some help due to my own illness, and it still took a month just to clean up. Good thing the work is therapeutic. I am feeling better now, but there is so much to catch up on everywhere else that I can't even find time to weed. And still, I sit and read my book when the urge strikes just to remind myself of the whole purpose of having a lovely garden :) Yesterday was my 60th birthday and I made it known that I was open to cute little garden chachkas. I have a few little ceramic mushrooms, stained glass birds, hanging feeders, copper chimes, etc., all for colourful decoration, but needing no care! Love to you and your mom xo
Thank you so much for your heartfelt message. It’s true that the garden can be both a source of joy and a significant responsibility, especially with the varying weather and life events. Finding the balance between enjoying the beauty and managing the tasks can be challenging. I’m glad to hear that you’re feeling better and that you’ve embraced some lovely garden decorations that don’t require too much upkeep. Your approach to finding joy in the garden, even amidst the busyness, is inspiring. Happy belated 60th birthday! 🎉 I’m sending best wishes for continued recovery and many more moments of garden enjoyment.
What a nice tidy up of your garden. Don’t give up. Summer will arrive. Here in Michigan, USA, we have had so many weather challenges. Torrential rains and flooding, horrible heat wave and smoke from Canada’s wildfires. I gave up on my pots. My husband told me that my yard looked like a pot hoarder lived here. I was upset. But he was right. No point in my keeping messy looking pots that keep struggling in our climate. After your last video, I was inspired to declutter my yard. Now, my husband compliments my flowers and doesn’t negatively comment about my pots. I gave most of them away to a community garden.
I’m really glad to hear that my video inspired you to declutter your yard! It’s great that you were able to make those changes and that your husband is now complimenting your flowers. It sounds like you made some positive adjustments that are benefiting both your garden and your peace of mind. Thank you for sharing your story, and I’m wishing you all the best with your revitalised garden! 🌸🌿😊
I’m zone 7 in Pennsylvania. It’s terribly hot and humid. We did get some much needed rain last week! I love that contraption you used to wheel away those long pots!
I enjoy your channel from 5 acres near San Antonio, Texas USA. I'm located 29.4 degrees North of the equator and it can get extremely hot and dry during our Spring and Summer seasons. I have learned xeriscaping is a must. I use only heat tolerant/low water usage native plants in my garden. I love seeing the green of Ireland and your lovely flower garden.
Hello from Johannesburg in South Africa..it's winter here...cold and dry. Very calming to see you working.. tidy up the garden...thank you. Enjoyed it. 😊
Hello! I’m glad to hear that the garden work is calming for you, even with the cold and dry winter in Johannesburg. Thank you for your kind words-I’m thrilled you enjoyed it! 😊🌿
I have a large container garden. Huge heavy pots! I'd never seen a pot mover like you used and was so happy to see that back saver! I found it on Amazon & ordered it straight away. I live in the high desert of New Mexico (nearly 5k ft elevation) and the heat has been brutal this year & last. I hung sunshade cloth over my entire garden and installed rings that slide along poles mounted just under the sunshade frame. I can pull it back to allow full light in through the not so burning portions of the day and slide it closed during the worst of the heat. That said I'm always having to move pots. Back breaking! Now you've saved me! The AMSR - at first I wasn't fond of it but as the video went along I found I was so relaxed.. in the zone so to speak. Now I'm a fan of it!
Finally got a break from the 100s heat, with full Deep South humidity here in lower Alabama. I resorted to shade cloth on my garden, and it has given my poor struggling veggies some relief. Tomatoes and peppers are happy, with lots of blossoms. Zinnias rule during the summers here! I got some perennials on sale from the box store, potted them up, and added them to my shady spot to keep them alive until they get planted this fall. Even my eyelids were sweating today, but I pushed through! Nice cool shower and my favorite gardening RUclips channels to finish my day!😊🎉
It’s great to hear you’re getting some relief from the intense heat and humidity with the shade cloth-sounds like a lifesaver for your veggies! 🌿 I’m glad your tomatoes, peppers, and zinnias are thriving. Your plan for the perennials sounds perfect; they’ll be ready for a beautiful fall planting. Despite the sweating, it’s fantastic that you’re pushing through and ending your day with a cool shower and your favorite gardening channels. Thanks for sharing your gardening journey! 😊🎉
the not so sweet Robin (from upstate NY in America) has a suggestion ... maybe put some homemade steps against the cement wall by the green house to display the pots and save yourself a bit of weed whackin' etc. they would show off more ? I always wish I had 1/2 your energy !!!! You amaze me !!!
Thank you so much for your thoughtful suggestion! I really appreciate your idea about using steps to display the pots; it sounds like a creative way to showcase them. However, I enjoy the flexibility of my current setup and find that many weeds are airborne, so I prefer to keep things as they are. I’m flattered by your kind words and energy compliment-thank you for the encouragement! 🌿😊
I’m so glad you found this helpful! It’s great to hear that you took inspiration and that it’s working out well for your pots. Remember, every garden has its unique charm and challenges. Keep up the great work-it is going to look fantastic! 😊🌿
Thank you so much for your kind words! It’s wonderful to hear from Langebaan, even during such a wet winter. I’m delighted that you find the videos and style inspiring. Stay cosy and happy gardening! 😊🌿
Such a lovely peaceful gardening video, thank-you Catherine. I am in Australia, we are having a very cold Winter. I was inspired by your video so I rugged up and went out into the garden. I live in the Strzelecki Hills in Gippsland, Victoria and enjoy my topsy turvy cottage garden. I hope Summer finally arrives for you and you can enjoy some sunshine. 🐦🦋🐝🌻
Thank you so much for your kind words! I’m delighted to hear that the video inspired you to get out into your garden, even in the cold winter. Your topsy-turvy cottage garden in the Strzelecki Hills sounds charming and unique. I hope summer arrives soon and brings you plenty of sunshine. Enjoy your gardening, and thanks again for your lovely message! 🐦🦋🐝🌻
I sent a little photo across to your IG of some beautiful forget -me- nots I spotted in the garden after being encouraged by your video , thanks again for inspiring me to get out there😊
Oh Catherine it's nice to see I'm not the only one with messy pots 😊 You did a great job of tidying everything. Thinking of your mum, hope she's doing ok.
Oh Catherine you always give me motivation to go out and get those little spots in the garden sorted out. We have been so cold in Melbourne this winter, my fountain even froze over a few times.🥶🐨
I’m so glad to hear that my videos help motivate you! It sounds like you’ve had quite a chilly winter in Melbourne-frozen fountains must be quite a sight! 🥶🐨 Stay warm and keep up the great work in the garden. Thanks for your lovely comment! 🌿😊
@@DaintyDiaries thanks to you I spent the entire day in my garden, and now paying for it but so good to get out there😂 You got me from lazing in bed not wanting to get up ,to a days work. Thanks again Catherine 😍🐨
I enjoy Watching u and your Irish accent I’m in a little town in Michigan . USA I’m still buying plants keeps me busy , love it . Love being outside .🦋🦋
I didn't want this video to end, I was so relaxed just watching you. I know you were working hard, but you could see that hard work paying off right away! Your yard is always a breath of fresh air! Beautiful!! 🌿🌻🌿
Thank you so much for your lovely comment! I’m thrilled to hear that the video helped you relax and that you enjoyed seeing the hard work pay off. It means a lot to know that my garden brings a breath of fresh air to you. Thanks for your kind words and support! 🌿🌻😊
NW England here We get very wet weather too ☔️ I’m tidying up my garden and also have lots off pots with half dead plants and seedlings. Very satisfying to get the garden tidy 😁👍
NW England sounds lovely, even with the wet weather ☔️. Tidying up the garden and bringing those half-dead plants and seedlings back to life must be so satisfying! Keep up the great work, and happy gardening! 😁👍
It is so satisfying to clear out the dead parts of the flowers garden. I did just what you did in this video, last Wednesday. We finally got some rain on Thursday and Friday. We are getting more rain this week we hope. Your garden look beautiful and I love your greenhouse. I always enjoy your videos Ms. Catherine. Ann from Va. USA 🇺🇸
Thank you for your kind words, Ann! I’m glad to hear you found satisfaction in clearing out your garden-it's such a rewarding task. It’s wonderful that you received some rain recently; hopefully, it keeps up and benefits your garden. I’m thrilled you enjoy the videos and the greenhouse. Thanks for your support, and happy gardening! 🌿🌧️😊
I live in the Palm Springs area, and the temperatures have reach 120+ Today we are at 110 and the temps will stay around 110-112 for the next week or two. My roses are dormant but my garden is green for the most part - have to water morning and nighttime. Can't wait for the summer to be over! It's miserable!
I’m sorry to hear about the extreme heat-it sounds challenging! 🌡️ It’s impressive that your garden is still green despite the high temperatures. Regular watering must be key in keeping things thriving. I hope the summer passes quickly and that you find some relief soon. Hang in there, and stay cool! 🌹💧
Here in Bergen, Norway, we have also had quite a lot of rain, but also some beautiful sunny days. It's my first summer in my new (old) house, and I love the garden!🌸 I haven't planted much, but I enjoy the flowers the previous owners put in. There are four rhododendrons which are old and were covered in moss. And the leaves had brown spots on them. I cut them all down in April and they are coming back with beautiful green leaves🌿🌿 It makes me happy!🤩 I have followed you for years now and I love your videos😍 Thank you, Cathrine!😃
That's amazing, thanks so much for sharing your story! Happy first summer in your new (old) house in Bergen! It sounds absolutely lovely, even with the rain. There's something so special about inheriting a beautiful garden, especially with established flowers and those impressive old rhododendrons. Sounds like you made a great decision to cut back the overgrown moss and brown spotted leaves. It's fantastic that they're coming back strong with beautiful green foliage! Your dedication is definitely paying off. There's nothing quite like the satisfaction of seeing your garden thrive. And thank you so much for following my videos for years! That truly means a world to me. Keep up the fantastic work on your garden, and please share any updates you'd like in the future. I'd love to see it flourish!
An enjoyable tidy up thank you. I’ve been making sure I dead head to encourage flowering, a job that I don’t do often enough. I do make sure I leave some seed heads for the insects and birds though. I agree with you Catherine, our season will extend longer this year🤞🏻
Thank you for your lovely comment! I’m glad you enjoyed the tidy-up. Deadheading is such an important task for encouraging flowering, and it's wonderful that you’re also leaving seed heads for the insects and birds. Here’s to hoping the season extends a bit longer this year! 🌸🌿🕊️
It's a cool day in the San Francisco Bay Area, California. I live across the bay from the big city. My apple tree has small apples now, and by September, they should be much larger. The wisteria has been retrained after the supports rotted, and it fell over last year. Now it is on 2 giant bamboo poles that have been pounded into the ground. It is growing like mad. The roses have booked, been deadheaded, and are blooming again. Dahlias are coming up. They live against the house in a warm dry spot and do well. Love your garden cleanup. So satisfying to do!
It’s great to hear about your garden progress in the San Francisco Bay Area! Your apple tree, wisteria, and roses all sound like they’re thriving with your care. It’s impressive that you’ve retrained the wisteria so successfully and that the dahlias are doing well in their warm spot. I’m glad you enjoyed the garden cleanup-it really is satisfying to see everything come together. Thanks for sharing your garden updates! 🌳🌸🌿
I enjoyed the video; and quiet was ok, but I love to hear your commentary and lovely Irish accent. I think it is part of the charm of your wonderful videos. I also liked the way you worked with the teasels. That was fun to see how you turned lemons into lemonade. Beautiful, and another special episode in the garden.
Thank you so much for your kind words! I’m delighted to hear that you enjoy the commentary and my accent-it’s always a pleasure to share my gardening experiences with you. I’m glad you liked the way I worked with the teasels; turning challenges into opportunities is one of the joys of gardening. Thank you for your support and for watching another special episode in the garden! 🌿😊🌟
Hi Catherine loved your relaxing video . Missed you as I Harley heard you talk to us .But have a fun safe week . Looking forward to your next video ❤❤❤
Thank you for your lovely message! I’m glad you enjoyed the video, even though I was quieter than usual ( I sometimes run out of things to say ) . I appreciate your kind words and hope you have a fun and safe week as well. Looking forward to sharing more with you soon! ❤❤❤🌿
I’m glad you found it satisfying! It’s easy to neglect garden areas sometimes, but it’s always rewarding to get back to it. Thanks for the reminder to take some time for our own gardens! 🌿😊
Catherine, I love these videos! I am in NW Oregon where we used to have wetter, pleasant summers, but the last few yrs have been too hot and dry. I don't have a garden currently and am missing it greatly! I wish I lived near you so I could come help you in your lovely garden. Hoping you mother is doing well❤
Thank you so much for your kind words! I’m sorry to hear about the challenging weather in NW Oregon. It’s tough when you’re missing your garden. I’ll make sure to pass on your well wishes to my mother. Thanks again for watching and for your thoughtful message! ❤🌿
I live in Perth Western Australia, and last summer(your winter) my plants were cooked in the sizzling sun. so I rally enjoy the other seasons to try and rectify things. I planted a small deciduous tree to protect some plants in summer. What you call wild flowers are our exotics. But Western Australia dry as it is has a spectacular display all over Australian wildflowers, that live in terrible le gravel and red soil.
Perth sounds like it has a whole different climate than mine! Sizzling summer sun can be brutal on plants, no wonder you enjoy the other seasons to help them recover. Planting a small deciduous tree for shade is such a clever idea - your sun-sensitive plants will thank you next summer! That's fascinating about your wildflowers! Here, "exotics" are plants that aren't native, so it makes sense why yours are so special. They've adapted to thrive in those tough conditions, with the gravel and red soil. Western Australia's wildflower displays sound incredible
Hi from Victoria in Australia! 😁 We are at the very end of winter and have had some lovely sunshine this week allowing me to get some much needed garden clean up done! 😅 Spring is on it's way and I'm so excited 😁🌼
Hello from New Zealand Catherine. I adore your videos both garden and other, especially with the two little fluffy rascals! Yes we are into our winter down under but to me we are (so far) blessed with not too much extreme weather as yet where I live. We have days of rain intermittent with beautifully sunny days or sun and cloud so can’t moan too much. Inside we have our heating on low most of the time unless we are out, so not suffering the cold indoors. You have a beautiful house and garden but the cottage gardens do require a lot of maintenance don’t they? You will never have nothing to do!😅 Someone in England should tell Monty Don about you and next time you have the opportunity - go up to him and make yourself known!! Also I’m sure he would love to know what an influence he has been on your garden journey? 💐👏❤️🙏🏻
Thank you for your kind words about the videos! I’m glad to hear you’re enjoying them, including the little fluffy rascals. It’s great to know you’re having a mix of rain and sunny days, which sounds like a nice balance. Cottage gardens definitely require a lot of maintenance, but their beauty makes it worth the effort. I appreciate your suggestion about Monty Don-I am sure he gets inundated with requests. Thanks again for your support! 💐😊❤️
Hi I live in Perth Australia & we are in mid winter heading into spring soon. This week has been raining a lot but I think not enough as we had a very dry hot summer. We need rain for the farms. I like your channel because its so realistic. You work around with what you have. By the way your garden is amazing so much greenery. I love the english ivy and your diy red bricks against the white wall
I’m so energized by your videos. It’s inspiring to see so much accomplished in a day. Love, love pulling weeds and pruning. Making the garden submit to order and making a designed thing of beauty.❤Great video. One of your best❤❤❤
Hi Catherine. I'm here from PA. one hr. west of Philadelphia. its been dry and hot. today its nice 84 degrees but dry. I'm still planting flowers. I keep telling myself this is it. No more lol. love your channel .
I live in Ontario Canada and our summer here has been unbearably hot with periods of drenching rain. Sometimes, the temperatures get to be and feel like 35° C!!🥵🥵🥵 We live in an apartment building that has no central air at all and it is unbearable. Be thankful that you have a lovely home and a garden to be out in!❤❤
Just love your videos Catherine, I am in the north of Ireland it has been so wet dull depressing can hardly be bothered with my garden that I love. We all need a bit of brightness warm sunny days. I love your cottage garden bit like my own with a lot of pots. I am really hoping to visit malahide garden centre soon the one Karen went to. Might purchase one of your books. Thanks Catherine for the relaxing video k xx
I'm from Germany, Oberbayern exactly. The last few days where hot and dry, around 27°C. Today its raining. My Garden is doing good. Some flowers died but others are blooming lovely ❤ your garden is my Inspiration ❤
Thank you so much for your kind words! I’m glad to hear that your garden is doing well despite the hot and dry weather. It’s wonderful that you’re finding inspiration from my garden. I hope the rain helps those blooms thrive even more. Wishing you continued success and joy in your garden! 🌧️🌸❤️
In Madrid (Spain) we keep going in and out of heat waves 🥵🥵. As I say to my cousin in England, we could share a bit, we could get a bit of coolness and rain and we would send some sun and warmth over. We wish!! Take care xxxxx
Just what I needed Catherine a nice calming video here in norfolk UK, my garden is getting so much attention it's my daughters wedding this Friday and her table flowers are coming from my little garden so much dead heading a sweetpea cutting has been happening next week I shall be enjoying what's left of garden and having a huge wind down lol.xx
Here in Ontario, Canada we have had a lot of rain but the sun has been keeping it warm. The weather feels about a month or so ahead of our normal temps.
After reading the other comments I feel so lucky . I am in Madison Wi usa and zone 4/5 . It was hot and no rain last summer and this summer we are right around 82ºF and getting the rain we need. The rain is good for all the trees and plants -but wow the weeds are 6' high. They are growing faster than I can keep up! I do have a rather large garden tho. I am trying to rewild 3/4 of my area but i will have to dig up pest trees and pest vines to let more natives have room; Gardening is always interesting. Also a terrific yr for pesky bunnies, chipmunk and woodchucks -- so you can tell I am very busy but like to sit for an hr or two every day to store up all the good sunny garden with thousands of flowers!! Mostly bee balm, cup plant and zinnias at the moment. Enjoy your little spot too:))
You’re certainly keeping busy with your large garden and all the challenges that come with it! It’s great to hear you’re getting the rain you need, even if it means battling towering weeds and persistent pests. Rewilding and making space for native plants is such a worthwhile endeavor, and your garden with bee balm, cup plant, and zinnias sounds beautiful. Enjoy those sunny moments and all the vibrant flowers you’ve created. Thanks for sharing your gardening journey-it’s truly inspiring! 🌻🌿🐝
We still get lots of rain here in Germany, depending in which part you live. But lovely hot days, too. Even on 700m where we live! Well done tidying up the area around the greenhouse! 😊
Thank you for your kind words! It’s great to hear that you’re experiencing both rain and lovely hot days, even at 700 meters. I’m glad you enjoyed the tidying up around the greenhouse. Wishing you continued enjoyment of your thriving garden! 😊🌿🌞
Thank you for all your informative video and I certainly appreciate when you have comments while you are working on something. Please keep up these videos in the way you want to present them to us. Midwest U.S.
You are so right dear Catherine, in the Netherlands it’s the same weather as in Ireland, a lot of water and snails everywhere, and when I get my garden beautiful as it can be, you can look at it from behind the windows because it’s raining again 😂, must say the plants are looking great and growing wild, so does the weed 🥰
It sounds like you’re dealing with similar weather challenges in the Netherlands! It’s a constant battle with the rain and snails, isn’t it? 😂 Despite the wild growth and weeds, it’s great to hear your plants are thriving. Here’s to hoping for some quieter weather soon, and that you can enjoy your garden as much as possible. Thanks for your lovely comment! 🌿🌧️😊
12 deg. in Melbourne atm (mid-day 22.7.24). Far too cold to sit outside. I didn't come here from Essex 50 years ago for the Winter. Looking forward to some warmer weather👍🏻
I’m in east central Minnesota in the USA. My zone is 3/4b so I get only one growing season which is fairly short. I start the cool weather crops mid-May and gardening is over with by mid-October. It’s been cooler than normal and very rainy.
It sounds like you have a short but sweet growing season in Minnesota. Starting cool-weather crops in mid-May and wrapping up by mid-October is a smart approach for your zone. I hope the cooler and rainy weather is benefiting your garden despite the challenges. Wishing you a successful and bountiful season! 🌿🌧️😊
Please please please can we have your cheerful and funny commentary back. We need your funny tales. Even the cats are missing. Love your videos. From Bedfordshire England
It's great to hear you're getting a break from the intense heat. Those 90F/30C+ temperatures can be quite a challenge! I hope you're enjoying some cooler weather and taking time to relax. Thank you for being part of our community. Sending cool breezes your way! 🌬️😊
Hello Catherine. I liked the video in this calmer and more relaxing way, make more videos like this. I love gardening and I'm slowly starting my own garden. Note: We also always like to hear it rs. 🕊🇧🇷💛🌼
I am in Kansas. We got some rain yesterday, which was a lovely break from the heat and humidity. Normally, summers here are very humid, with temps in the low to mid 100Fs (40+ C).
I’m glad to hear you got a break from the heat and humidity with some rain! It must be refreshing to have a reprieve from those intense temperatures. I hope the cooler weather helps your garden and brings some relief. Thanks for sharing, and take care in the Kansas summer! 🌦️🌿
A big hug and hello from Germany 🇩🇪 We have a heatwave here and I'm still used to Irish summer from my past years of living in Ireland 🇮🇪 (only moved back to Germany end of last year because of the housing crisis in Ireland 😢 and I miss it so much 😢 Love your channel and started following you from the beginning on and it's so nice to keep on hearing the Irish accent and art of living 😊 Say hello to the fairy folks and the leprechauns from me XOXO Melli from So Shabby So Chic
I live in Canberra, Australia and it is freezing here 😩 I planted my veggie beds full of onion and garlic in autumn. It’s not much to look at, but I should get a great harvest come late spring, and it requires minimal time outside in the cold!!
It sounds like you’ve made a smart choice with planting onions and garlic to weather the cold Canberra winter. Even if it’s not the most picturesque right now, it’s great to know that you’ll have a rewarding harvest come late spring. Sometimes, minimal upkeep in the cold can lead to the best results! Stay warm and cosy, and best of luck with your veggie beds. 🧄🧅❄️
Hello Catherine! I'm in Coventry, We England. Yep, same weather, slugs a plenty 😮 so glad you bought that pot lifting contraption! Your back will thank you x
Hello! It’s great to hear from Coventry. Slugs can definitely be a challenge in our weather! 😮 I’m glad you think the pot-lifting contraption will be a back-saver-it’s been a game-changer for me. Thanks for your support, and happy gardening! x 🌿😊
The thistles are pretty. Could look pretty hung upside down to dry. The bulbs in those pretty pots could be planted in the garden this fall. Branches make great plant supports.
Thank you for your thoughtful suggestions! I love the idea of hanging the thistles upside down to dry-they would make a beautiful and unique dried arrangement. I already have Spring bulbs elsewhere in the garden, so I am happy to revive the pots, so I have a pretty display in Spring while the summer perennials are resting. Otherwise, I would have no Spring display. Using branches as plant supports is both practical and charming but I find bamboo works better for me in my garden. I appreciate your creativity and thanks for taking the time to share your ideas! 🌿🌸😊
Totally loved the video !! Gardening is quite the workout but the results are sooo worth it. Also wanted to let you know that I took your advice about limiting time on the phone....works wonders and I am feeling a lot better and much more connected ❤.
Great content, all the way from rainy, Victoria Australia
I miss your commentary, love hearing your beautiful Irish accent ❤
haha, sometimes I honestly run out of things to say x
I find it more soothing to watch your videos when you are talking. It is your voice that provides the ASMR effect.( Vancouver Canada) . We need rain !
Hope you’ve been well!😊
I love your commentary Catherine! I've said before that I find it so very therapeutic...I could listen to you for hours! ❤

That pot lifter is a handy garden tool.
Its very therapeutic watching you do the garden ❤
I'm so glad, I felt like I had a good gardening session this week, was nice looking out the window when it was all clean 🧼
I miss hearing your voice during your gardening. It's soothing and I love it !!!
@@DaintyDiaries Thank you. I'm your "Texas Nana". lol
And still, I sit and read my book when the urge strikes just to remind myself of the whole purpose of having a lovely garden :)
Yesterday was my 60th birthday and I made it known that I was open to cute little garden chachkas.
You have such an incredibly beautiful and sweet voice. It’s my first video of yours and I’m just really happy to have landed here ❤
Welcome to the community, glad you found me x
I love that pot mover thing, too! I've never seen one before😮😊
I think I popped a link to it in the description, if not it is in the last garden video x
Rainy day here in Illinois, USA- so nice and relaxing watching you do this outdoor work, while I’m INSIDE and not having to do yard work today.
the not so sweet Robin (from upstate NY in America) has a suggestion ... maybe put some homemade steps against the cement wall by the green house to display the pots and save yourself a bit of weed whackin' etc. they would show off more ? I always wish I had 1/2 your energy !!!!
You amaze me !!!
Thank you so much for your thoughtful suggestion! I really appreciate your idea about using steps to display the pots; it sounds like a creative way to showcase them. However, I enjoy the flexibility of my current setup and find that many weeds are airborne, so I prefer to keep things as they are. I’m flattered by your kind words and energy compliment-thank you for the encouragement! 🌿😊
So glad I saw this - I was feeling really bad about my pots and have done exactly what you have. It looks great.
I’m so glad you found this helpful! It’s great to hear that you took inspiration and that it’s working out well for your pots. Remember, every garden has its unique charm and challenges. Keep up the great work-it is going to look fantastic! 😊🌿

I'm really liking that pot lifter...the more I see you use it the more I think I might need one 😊
Here in Ontario, Canada we have had a lot of rain but the sun has been keeping it warm. The weather feels about a month or so ahead of our normal temps.
Loved this, and loved the teasel in the boot vase! 🩷
Watching from NZ and we have spring bulbs up - about six weeks too early
Love, love , love the wild corner !
Thank you for all your informative video and I certainly appreciate when you have comments while you are working on something. Please keep up these videos in the way you want to present them to us. Midwest U.S.
You always inspire me to get out in my garden to do some tidying up .
This was Another nice relaxing Garden Video .
Hi Dainty. Love from USA. You are such a sweet delight. Thank you for being so inspirational ❤️
Oh they will be back in tomorrows video!
I’m so glad. You cheer me up
Just up the road from you, Catherine, ( other side of Belfast) your cottage garden is looking lovely, our weather has been terrible.☔️
I’m just outside of NYC and thankfully we are getting a break from the 90F/30C+ temperatures.
A big hug and hello from Germany 🇩🇪
We have a heatwave here and I'm still used to Irish summer from my past years of living in Ireland 🇮🇪 (only moved back to Germany end of last year because of the housing crisis in Ireland 😢 and I miss it so much 😢
Love your channel and started following you from the beginning on and it's so nice to keep on hearing the Irish accent and art of living 😊
Say hello to the fairy folks and the leprechauns from me

I live in Canberra, Australia and it is freezing here 😩 I planted my veggie beds full of onion and garlic in autumn. It’s not much to look at, but I should get a great harvest come late spring, and it requires minimal time outside in the cold!!
I'm just outside Canberra . Been CHILLY! 😂
Thanks for your support, and happy gardening! x 🌿😊
Here from Jamaica 🇯🇲… it’s really really 🥵 hot not much of a garden to write home about but love seeing yours and the cats 😊
Wow that was hard work. It l😅oks great well done. Here in this part of SA we get terrible frost lately😢😢
Another lovely video to watch so thanks for sharing. Here in New Zealand we are having winter rain and some sunny gardening days.
That's a neat Lil trolly you have😊
The thistles are pretty.
You make me feel better about the time i don’t get to spend in my garden. That said, i have got a few jobs done over the weekend 👍🏼🌸🪴🌼🪴xx
Totally loved the video !! Gardening is quite the workout but the results are sooo worth it. Also wanted to let you know that I took your advice about limiting time on the phone....works wonders and I am feeling a lot better and much more connected ❤. Thank you so much and xoxo's to you and the fur babies 😊 .
