Dear dear girl, there are never fails in a garden just advice from nature indicating what is best for a particular place. Well done you for continuing to present vlogs at this time xx
I remember when you created the pond. I did laugh at the title of the video. Gardens require vigilance and you have had other priorities this summer but you'll soon get it back under control. I loved watching the bees at work. It's so interesting, thank you for sharing this with us and I shall look forward to the woodland trail. It does look enchanting. Sending love and hugs x
Thanks Catherine. I remember when your little patch of green was all grass. No pond, no flower beds. You’ve worked very hard and now have created a little garden of Eden to be proud of…and you have bees! How wonderful. Did you ever imagine it would develop into something so beautiful? Be well.❤
Brave girl goin in those areas without gloves. 😮 i love your garden videos. I hope you are doing well. Prayers for you as you continue to mourn the loss of your mom. ❤
I am happy to see you again 😀! I've been watching your channel for several years now. Always impressed with the amount of work you do; above and beyond the recording and editing that's required just to upload every single video. Please remember, we all care about you and we're here for you ❤.
I had to cut back my long border at the rear of my bungalow it took a couple of hours but was so satisfying just like your garden clean up. You’ve had a very tough year so you can’t blame yourself for the neglect this year and I’m sure next year will be better, hopefully more sun less rain and grey skies . It was nice to see stone Blondie emerging from the jungle 😂❤️
It sounds like you had a productive and satisfying garden clean-up! I completely understand how therapeutic it can be, especially after a tough year. Thank you for your kind words - next year definitely holds more promise, with hopefully sunnier skies! And yes, stone Blondie is finally making her appearance from the jungle! 😂❤️ Wishing you a wonderful season ahead!
Oh I have grape ivy vine. No grapes, just vines! They cover everything. You are so busy, but I have to remember you are still so young! You go girl. You have been I my heart! Hoping you are doing well!
Loved seeing the bees fighting against that wasp! Go girls, go! This morning, we had a bunch of bee visitors that landed on a long light fixture in our/our neighbor's car port area. I think they may have lost their home due to wildfire in my area and needed somewhere to rest for awhile. When we came back to check on them later, they were gone. Learning about bees from your videos has definitely made me a little less scared of them.
I enjoyed this. It's so relaxing to watch a clear up. Pussycats looked content in the garden. I know what you mean about menacing mint, it takes the Mick. Your little pond being choked, oh well it happens. There might be a frog in there somewhere. Thank you Catherine. I love the bees defending their territory too.
I have cleaned the birdbaths too and weeded everything that was growing to big or killing other plants or trees. You are so right with all of the rain and sun everything grows like a maniac 😂 Last weekend we worked in the biggest garden and yesterday the front garden. Lot of work but it’s a good hobby. Have a nice week dear Catherine 🥰
Love watching all the garden tidying videos! They're my favorite to just grab a cup of coffee and relax to. 😊 I live in the US in South Carolina. Bermuda grass is the bane of my existence here! Just creeps into everything and is SO hard to get rid of! Mulching yearly in my flower beds and keeping up with weeding has helped quite a bit. On year 2-3 and it's much more manageable. 😁
Creeping Charlie! I have a love/hate relationship with it. I think it's so pretty when it frames a hardscape but, in my area (indiana in USA) it takes over everything! It's always helpful too that we all have areas and times that we let things go from time to time. Love your garden videos!
Catherine you turned the sign for "The Birdie Buffet" to Open. I love when the birds come out. Add a flat stone in the center of the cement bird bath for smaller birds and butterfly to rest. Love the good cleanup. You should be able to pull the roots from the pond and it will be lovely again. Thanks for the bee update. Hope the new Queen will start laying a bunch of eggs before winter. The worker bees doing a great job keeping the wasp out. Please return to the lovely garden. Look secret and cozy. Now sit in the garden with a cup of tea and enjoy your peaceful clean garden. Take care of yourself.
You are a strong girl, you picked the stone belfast sink up like it was plastic. I know who to call when I start my landscaping. Have a good week Catherine, Lovely to see the cats confident in the garden.
We do the same with old compost, a bit goes in the compost maker, but the rest goes under a Japanese Maple tree in the front garden which is north facing, we call that area the woodland. A milk urn you have there Catherine ❤️
Your bee activity is so interesting, . Your posts inspired me to get outside and have a clean up of my garden. We're entering Spring in New Zealand so it's busy busy getting seeds weeds etc dealt with. I love your gardening overalls so practical 😍
Lovely just peeking through the fence with you. Unwanted trees are our worst weed, because they pop up.all over, thanks to the squirrels, and cann be a hard pull!
I have two bothersome invaders. Ground ivy and bind weed. And you've just reminded me to check.on my wildlife pond Catherine. I've newts so don't like to disturb it but the plants do take over. Such a shame the garden was shut , it looks very pretty. Continue to stay strong we are all thinking of you❤❤🎉🎉
Thank you for the Sunday Video, dear Catherine. It brings joy and calmness to my heart.❤ You have your sense of humour back. That 's great! This year the greedy overgrew my garden. That was really annoying.🤷♀️
Hi Catherine, your bee information is fascinating. Your pond is not a fail. Look at all the amazing insects that are attracted to it just beautiful. Thank you
Love your cottage garden your colors and how it changing the arrangement of certain areas, not a fail but nature making its own design for you like a helper. Beautiful work!
Hi Catherine loved your garden video you really cleaned it up the bees are very interesting hope you get lots of honey give the 2 pretty cats a hug for me and you all have a great week cant wait to see your next video ❤❤❤
Look at that cute kitty climbing the top of the shed! I have no excuses for my overgrown garden other than the heat we have endured but at least since I’ve gotten back from vacation our temps have greatly improved & we got a lot of rain, for a change so I can clean up my garden. Keeping busy is always the best thing to do & gardening is good for the soul. Hugs❤
Hi Catherine, like you I have so much to sort out in my garden that I keep putting off but will have to tackle it this week as weather to be good so I have no excuses 😂. I’m so fascinated with your bee journey it’s amazing what you taught me so thank you. Lots of love and wee hugs . Patricia 💖🙋🏻♀️xx
I'm glad to see a new video from you! Here spring is around the corner so it's a very busy time for us in the garden, unfortunately weeds wake up first, dandelions and clover are my nemesis, they take over an entire garden if you let them. This year I got a new one, a creeper with sticky leaves to make me work even more 😅
I enjoyed seeing you tackle the hard stuff in the garden today, Catherine. It’s intimidating, but when you finished the whole garden could breathe again. Have a good week!
Glad to see a video from u, Catherine! ❤ The hummingbirds r migrating to Mexico so I’ve had a fair few visiting in my Texas garden on their way to Mexico. I’ve enjoyed them SO MUCH! One day I had five fighting each other over the feeder so I went out and bought another one, but they don’t seem to like to share much lol. Territorial little buggers! 😂 I also have been working in the garden, and almost had a legit heart attack last week. I was working on the okra and watermelon plants, and saw a huge grasshopper, but told him I’d let him be as long as he didn’t jump on me. That agreement was apparently one sided and didn’t last longer than 10 min. He was as big as my entire hand, and he decided to jump on my right shoulder. I FELT him land bc he was so big so I turned my head and was eyeball to eyeball with this huge grasshopper. This led to me screaming at the top of my lungs like an axe murderer was chasing me, and feeling like I was having a legit heart attack. 😂 I have three dogs (see profile pic). My rottie is a huge mama’s boy so he came running ready to do business with his whole chest, but he couldn’t see the reason why I was running around in circles screaming and flailing about so he just ran in circles around me barking. The neighbor must’ve heard me screaming bc she called the police who then turned up to see who was being murdered. We have cameras which caught the whole debacle, and my hubby and kids laughed until they cried watching me running in circles with the dog also running in circles, both of us either screaming or barking, and then my mortification when the police turned up, and I had to explain that no, I wasn’t being murdered, it was just a grasshopper. 🤣🤣🤣 I doubt I’ll ever live it down. 🙈 Hope that gave u a laugh! Pls know I pray for u daily! Much love! ❤
Dear Catherine, thanks for carrying on with your beautiful videos! During the last weeks I rewatched some of your first videos from 7 years ago. What a change! We moved into our house twelve years ago and keep the premises quite naturally. But I try to get rid of different weeds every year. This year its a yellow flower that wants to overtake the whole garden (don't know its name) and quite a few thistles that I only like in some parts of the garden. Thinking of you and wishing you well. God bless!
Me too! Our inherited “Cement Pond” has been eaten by our garden 😂 you have had a lot on your plate this year Catherine. Lovely to see Bonn & Beage out and about exploring. Fascinating to see the Bees defending their hive. So enjoyed your Vlog Catherine , Suze. 🤗 x
Enjoyed your video as usual. I chuckled to myself when you first said what is your weed if choice. Then said in the garden . I laughed & thought it was an open ended ? . Thought there would be some funny replies for a moment. Even though I personally don't partake in a weed of choice. I just found quite funny. What can I say I have a warped sense of humor.Your garden always looks lovely. Your pond will be back to itself with a little TLC. Well now it's just a woodland pond. Nothing wrong with that.
Aw great to see you today and what a lovely calming video 🌺.It’s that time of year in the garden to tidy up and empty pots there’s a sense that things are slowing down and getting ready for a rest. Love watching the bees 🐝 great to learn how bees live hopefully your bees will do well and you get some honey next year 🍯.keep enjoying your garden look forward to seeing you soon 💚
Catherine hi 👋 have you ever tried taking a plastic drink cup that you add about 3/4 filled with cheap beer, then sink the cup 3/4 of the cup depth in the soil anywhere you have a slug issue. They are drawn to the yeast in the beer, they drink from it,get drunk and fall in and drown.😊
Definitely not a garden fail! You’ve created a beautiful sanctuary for the birds, bees & butterflies (+ so much more). I also find it challenging to keep up with the maintenance of a water feature so I only have 1 birdbath for our favorite garden guests - the cardinals! I also like to keep bird feeders full to encourage their visits! Wonderful blog, Catherine! - Julie
The weed I have problems with is Herb Robert it seeds everywhere, but it is easy to remove thankfully. The problem is there's so many bits of it popping up all over the place. I too lost a beautiful lupin in vivid orange last year. The garden has started flooding and I don't think it liked it. I've also lost 3 dwarf Buddleas which I was upset about and a perennial sweet pea and all because of the constant flooding. I don't know what is going on with the rain all the time. You're doing a good job on your garden, it will soon be tidy again. Thank you for taking us along with you x☺️
I dread the clean up operation that is waiting for me on the balcony, i love planting in the spring and dread the clean up and the wintering of the plants. My trailing and classic pelagonias are still going mad, so w ill wait till the first frost to cut them down and put in the tiny greenhouse i have on my balcony. I am glad to see that the hives are slowly getting on their feet. Wasps are great in the garden but menace at the hives. Check if they have a nest near by. Also they are very territorial, so putting fake wasps nests may deter them 😊
Thank you, for this weeks vlog, lovely and calming just what I need this week! My biggest weed problem in the garden are brambles! They can take over unless I keep on top of them, but I have some mobility issues as i am getting older and simply cannot get on top of it now! I will have to give it a go soon, I guess. Watching you does give me inspiration and next nice day I shall see what I can do!
Hi Catherine , good to see you in the garden 💐. Nice to see your cats joining you in the garden . The birds are keeping watch over you also butterflies have hidden meanings like lots in nature that we can gain solace from. Don’t beat yourself up with things overgrown this summer I think you’ve had other priorities. Completely different thing , with the fence would a viburnum be of any use for it? Lovely evergreen nice flower & birds will live in the foliage- just a thought x Enjoy some nice music - & take time to put your feet up & start reading a book you can get engrossed in 😁🌸 best wishes little trooper 👍🏻🕯️🙏🏻
Such a treat to have new videos from you Catherine! I've been watching loads of your older ones while you were off. And thinking of you and your family 💜 Your garden looks fantastic and great to see the bees. The epic battles of nature! I got caught out by visiting a house and gardens only to find out they were closed on a Monday!
Thank you so much for watching, and for your kind thoughts-it truly means a lot! 💜 I’m glad to be back, and it’s wonderful to hear you've been enjoying the older videos too. I have 6 new videos in the Member area if you don't want to wait to see them. The garden has been keeping me busy, and yes, nature never disappoints with its little dramas! 😄 How frustrating to arrive at closed gardens-I've had a few moments like that myself! Hopefully, you’ll get another chance to visit soon. Sending you warm wishes! 🌸🐝
Hello Catherine, lovely surprise to see you. Just what I needed! Hope you are well my darling girl. Thank you for hard work. Sorry about the pond. It'll come good our Catherine will see to that along with the rest of her jobs. Bless sweetheart. Love n hugs Lesley-Ann xX
Ground ivy that we call creeping Charlie and volunteer trees are the most annoying weeds I deal with. I also get volunteer summack, flat thistle, and itch weed that are rather troublesome.
You garden will get back to what you want before you know it. I have 2 ponds it take me a lot of time to maintain. Praying for your family and sending you lots of love 💗
This video brings to mind the quote 'To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow' - personally I think to not only plant a garden, but to love a garden and to nurture it is not only to believe in tomorrow but to believe in the goodness of the world. Lovely video as always Catherine, a very soothing watch.
Oh no, pesky wasps 😡My garden has been neglected this summer and i now have an 11 week old puppy rampaging around my border - she loves it😂 I wasn’t happy earlier when she emerged with a slug stuck to her ear 😮 Lovely to see you, as always xx P.S. Going to see Carol Klein later - soooooo excited 🪴🌸
I lost two little ponds in my gardens this year too, Catherine. I have an area in my garden where the hardy geraniums have just gone crazy and taking over. I ended up digging up the geraniums and putting them into a really big stone pot. That way, I still have all the gorgeous geraniums for the bees but they’re not taking over everything else around them. Xx
I really love those pots you took from the lane Catherine, they have so much character. Also your sweet fur babies are so cute exploring the garden as you work. You have such a great work ethic and your garden is an inspiration.👏👌💖
I had to laugh out loud when you talked about mint. I had some planted in a pot however we had a scorching, dry start to the summer and it died. Little did I know that it had actually seeded itself in the ground around the pot. Once we started getting rain, I now have mint (lemon mint) spreading over a portion of my yard. My plan is to see if I can plant some of it back into the pot, then I'll pull up the rest and "throw" it into an area where I don't mind if it takes over. Wish me luck. My little flower beds on each side of my steps need to be weeded and cleaned up so badly. I have a rose planted in each. My roses did AMAZING this year, but they need to be cut back and my little beds refreshed. You inspire me so much to work in my garden.
Thank you Catherine for a lovely garden video. Hope that you are doing well, be strong, things will get better soon. Love, hugs and blessings your way. With love, Grace love 💕 💗
I saw pictures of your yard before anything was done. It seemed so small. Now, it's blossomed along with all your plantings but looks bigger. Beautiful!
Hi Catherine, having the same trouble as you with the slugs/snails eating my lupins so decided to pop them in pots and put them up on my glass topped garden table but they climbed up the legs under the table over the top and still enjoyed feasting on all the lupins, there's just no stopping them 😮 oh and bindweed is my pain weed, lovely to see your kittens, sending loads of love XX
Hi Catherine I need to cut back stuff in my garden but the thought of it Tuesday is meant to be good sunny all day so I’ll wait till then, your garden is still looking beautiful.😊such a pity about the walled garden I look forward to you taking us back, take care 😊❤️
Ponds are a lot of work. They need water all the time and the water needs to have some sort of control of the algae in it. Love your videos and your energy. Have a great week.
Catherine, how nice to see you on a Sunday! It is indeed a gorgeous white Geranium. My pink is doing what yours does, taking over the garden, I don't mind one bit. My bane is the Bishop weed. I inherited my garden around my house, it is South and North. The North border is, thank goodness divided by a path, is filled with it. I put ground covers and ornamental grasses over them together with Darmera Peltate. Those dense growing plants choke the Bishop weeds. It tries every year but as soon as it is warmer all is covered so it chokes. Can you imagine it is still sold as a garden ornament plant? Oy.
Our neighbourhood has squirrels. So we have nuts planted each year. Walnuts grow as much under the soil as above. If you don't get them small. They go so deep it is really hard to remove. The birds have given me 2 kinds of buttercups. The nut trees were 2 ft tall in spring. After 3 really heavy rains they shot up over 2ft each time. Now they are 12 ft tall and are 2-inch thick.trunks. Will have to hire someone to remove about 9 walnut trees. The squirrels are still welcome.there are 2 families with young ones every summer.
I’m in Canada and my thug plant is some gout weed that was planted by the previous owner more than 27 years ago. It is pretty, but it would take over the entire block if it wasn’t kept in check. There is nothing as healing as being in the garden. I hope you’re taking good care of yourself. Holding you in my heart, friend.
Looking forward to seeing your work on the pond Catherine I love water in a garden 🪴 great work so far with the tidying up ❤ Jeez for a minute I thought it was Blondie passing by the camera aww... happy days the two fluffiest looked like they were enjoying themselves outside with you though xxx❤
Hi Catherine, I have another creeping yellow flowering weed. We call it Fingerkraut. I looked it up and the latin name is Potentilla reptans. At first I thought it was lovely (and it is), but it has 45 cm deep roots and creeps along to build new plants with more deep roots. I hope it will not 'eat' all my other plants. Wish me success to at least reduce them. Thank you for taking us along. And I look forward to this walled garden when it is open.
Dear dear girl, there are never fails in a garden just advice from nature indicating what is best for a particular place. Well done you for continuing to present vlogs at this time xx

Ha ha no! I never imagined this, I get a lot help from Mother Nature. If these were indoor plants, I’d have killed them by now 😂
Brave girl goin in those areas without gloves. 😮 i love your garden videos. I hope you are doing well. Prayers for you as you continue to mourn the loss of your mom. ❤
Loving all the Bee keeping facts & info ❤🐝

That corner by the pond, it looks great, and I'm pretty sure many little garden critters enjoyed it... no failure 💗🦋🐞🐝

Hi Catherine, great pruning your yard, looks terrific! You definitely have a green thumb! Well done!
It’s definitely time for a reset now as the seasons change ❤️🍂✨ can’t wait for the honey that’s for sure! 🍯🐝
- Julie
Aww your birdbath and garden sounds lovely 🥹 I’m sure the birds love visiting your garden! 😍
Also they are very territorial, so putting fake wasps nests may deter them 😊
Cute little helpers ❤❤
@@frances7099-i6u yes!! 💛💛😻😻
The cutest 😍
@@DaintyDiaries definitely 😻😍
And thinking of you and your family 💜
Your garden looks fantastic and great to see the bees.
@@DaintyDiaries Thanks so much Catherine! 🌱
Beautiful video. I'm making it a priority to enjoy each season to its fullest this year. Your hidden pond is beautiful to me!❤
You garden will get back to what you want before you know it.
That’s a lovely quote 🥹❤️ thanks for sharing!!
The garden is still looking good
Gardening always clears my head & relaxing.
When you are maintaining it.
Mine right now is a beast!
It’s so relaxing isn’t it ❤️
Wow we remember when you created the pond and now it's missing. LOL😊❤
Oh no, pesky wasps 😡My garden has been neglected this summer and i now have an 11 week old puppy rampaging around my border - she loves it😂 I wasn’t happy earlier when she emerged with a slug stuck to her ear 😮 Lovely to see you, as always xx
P.S. Going to see Carol Klein later - soooooo excited 🪴🌸
Hi Catherine tomorrow is the 17th. Great clean up and I hope your bees thrive and enjoy the late summer sunshine xx
I just love your videos. You are just so sweet. I hope you are feeling better this week. You seem to be smiling a little more.
You always do a wonderful job with your videos and thank you for that.
I just love your garden!! And the bees defending their hive ! ❤️
Xx
Oh wow your ponds sound lovely 😍
My husband bought both of your books for me. I live in Colorado, USA. Love them both!!
Aww you’ve a keeper there❤️ hope you enjoy them! ❤️
The kitties are growing big. ❤
Sooo big 🥹
I saw pictures of your yard before anything was done. It seemed so small. Now, it's blossomed along with all your plantings but looks bigger. Beautiful!
So nice of you, yes it does feel much bigger now 🌳
Hi Catherine, having the same trouble as you with the slugs/snails eating my lupins so decided to pop them in pots and put them up on my glass topped garden table but they climbed up the legs under the table over the top and still enjoyed feasting on all the lupins, there's just no stopping them 😮 oh and bindweed is my pain weed, lovely to see your kittens, sending loads of love XX
Oh noo those pesky little slugs!!! Your poor lupins ☹️
I'm so looking forward to watching this. Sending you all good wishes ❤x
Aww hope you enjoyed ❤️ thanks for stopping by x
I also battle.with selfseeding trees from the neighbours. But lately i try to keep up with them as they show themselves.
Aw me too, their my least fave
Hi Catherine I need to cut back stuff in my garden but the thought of it Tuesday is meant to be good sunny all day so I’ll wait till then, your garden is still looking beautiful.😊such a pity about the walled garden I look forward to you taking us back, take care 😊❤️
You can get stuck in on Tuesdays that’s great! 🍂👏
Always satisfying to watch …inspiring to 😊
and Mrs T nice video lovely to see your two cats in the garden at the start of the video and Toffee paid a vist too. Glad you found the pond again
Love it all Catherine
Love to see your garden so pretty. Thank you. 😊
Lovely video. Thanks
Ponds are a lot of work. They need water all the time and the water needs to have some sort of control of the algae in it. Love your videos and your energy. Have a great week.
Lovely surprise to see you. Thank you Catherine xx
Such a blessing to hear your sweet voice and seeing you all busy like a bee! How is it going with your bee hive ?
Sorry asked before finishing the video
....
They’re settling in now and getting ready to over winter ❤
This was unexpected another garden video yay. I love pottering around in the garden so calming and fulfilling🌸🪴
It has been a joy to watch your progress. Looking forward to seeing you re generate the beautiful pond!!!!
I remember the pond being put in….you’ll soon it it back to fantastic… glad to see you looking more of yourself xx
