Beautiful video! Thinking of you as you head into the holidays for the first time without your mother. I pray you fill your time with happy memories and start new traditions.❤️
I really enjoyed your video today, Catherine. I think your idea of a series of garden videos that you show in November and December next year would be great. Have a wonderful day. ❤
Oh Katherine, this video took me back about 42 years ago. My Son & I lived in San Diego, CA. He was 2-3 years old & it was just the 2 of us. For those 2 years we would walk from where we lived to the San Diego Zoo, at least twice a week. After our visit to the Zoo, we would walk nextdoor to Balboa park & I would get him out of his stroller and run & play. We would always go into the Botanical Garden House that they have there, it was so peaceful and pretty! I havent thought of that for a long while...thank you for helping to bring back such special memories. I lost him to an accident in 1989, so these memories are golden. 💛 Ooops, didnt mean to rattle on so, but truly, thank you! 🥰
Hey Ann! Thank you so much-that really means a lot to me. I’m thrilled to hear the videos are some of your favorites. Wishing you a lovely week as well! 💖😊🌸
Thank you so much for the garden tour, so many flowers still in bloom, I was surprised. I do like it when you take us out, even the cemetery was a piece of art. Your architecture is so different from what we have in Canada, it always makes your trips interesting. Have a great week Catherine, see you in your next video.
'Not as dead as they normally are' made me roar with laughter, Katherine. I over water my plants, and my Persian cats love to bite them at the base so they are snipped off and not recover. I remember being at the botanical garden and one of the smaller greenhouses had a wedding. Beautiful place to marry. Long time ago, I need a trip to Ireland again.
Ah Catherine you've brought back lovely memories for me in this video. I was born about 10/15 minute walk from the Botanic Gardens. As kids, my dad used to take us (myself and 2 sisters) for a walk every Sunday afternoon and no matter what direction we went, he'd always circle around so that we ended up back at the Botanic Gardens. Being the youngest, my sisters got too "grown up" to go on walks on Sundays so for a few years it was just me and my Dad going to the gardens, with ice cream on the way home! That was back in the early 60's and the memories are flooding back. Thanks so much. Definitely going the next time I'm back up in Dublin!
Flowers reduce negativity. I used to visit a local nursery on my way home from work about 3 times a week, just to walk and take in the beauty and scents. One of the employees looked at me one day and asked, " Rough day at work?" Lol, she just knew. Beautiful video, Catherine!
Catherine thanks for sharing this beautiful garden with us, the flowers and gardens were gorgeous and well taken care of 🧡🤎💛 The autumn colors are beautiful 🍂
I grew up in finglas West Dublin 11, I spent my young life growing up visiting the NBG. Had my first kiss here too. I came to live in England in 1979 and this video has brought back some memories. I was free as a bird every weekend here. Thank you for sharing this. It still is as beautiful as I remember.
Yes, garden tours would be lovely, scented geraniums are also good for keeping the mozzies away, they seem to think I'm dinner 😂. Stay safe and warm. ❤
Thank you, Thank you for this beautiful video. Botanical Garden so lovely and peaceful along with your choice of music. Pelargonium, Geranium in the states, over winter very well. Pretty variety on your window sill. Nice small variegated leaf. Great idea. Yes count me in for any garden tour. Catherine have a great week.
I loved the walk through the gardens! I love seeing the different varieties of plants, especially since the plants in my area are already hibernating. The frosty mornings and below freezing night temperatures have already started here. If you ever travel to Canada again there are leaf colour trackers that can help you plan a visit (I am from just north of Toronto). I find that the leaves change earlier in the north areas of the province before the south areas. How much of a show you get is really dependent on the area you are visiting, what types of trees grow there and what the weather has been like. Usually the best time (for my area of Ontario) is around Canadian Thanksgiving, the second and third week of October.
If you ever go to Bodnant Gardens. You want to go when the laburnum arch is out in early June. It is stunning. ❤ but I think I need a trip to Ireland. The glass houses are beautiful. Similar to the Eden Project in England. Thank you Catherine for a lovely relaxing video.
I’m so glad the plants could bring a little calm to your day. It’s wonderful to know the beauty of the garden offers a break from it all. Thank you for watching! 🌱
With your pelargoniums, you can cut them back and pop the cuttings in some potting mix. Maybe wait till spring to do it. I'm about to cut some of mine back but I'm in Queensland and it's hot and humid here coming into summer. Loved the ancient big trees in the botanic gardens but that's me, I love trees.
Very gloomy day here in the UK made even gloomier it being Rememberance Sunday. So tuning into DD I was uplifted immediately by the gardens and the beautiful haunting melodies. So thank you Catherine.
I'm so glad the video could bring a bit of light to your day. The beauty of the gardens really does create a peaceful escape. Thank you for watching and sharing this with me.
what beautiful walk through! and yes, I think that would be a fabulous idea! I was just thinking looking at all of the plants that there is so much more out there then what I have seen! thanks for sharing! xoxo
Oh this was such a stunner of a video. It so lovely to see the Irish scenery/ gardens. The glass greenhouses are absolutley magnificent. Catherine if u get time ,do explain how the dahlia supports work they used in their beds It looked like something id also like to create b4 next season . Have a fabulous week. Yes to the garden series.
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm so glad you enjoyed the video and the beautiful Irish gardens. The glass greenhouses really are something special, aren’t they? 😊 As for the dahlia supports, I’ll definitely look into that and share more about them. Il have a look again and see how exactly they did them. Thanks for the enthusiasm! Have a wonderful week ahead! 🌸
Thank you for a beautiful video. I found it so restful and I physically relaxed watching all the wonderful videos and photos you took. Thanks for taking me on your trip 😊
Oh it’s been years since I had the pleasure of walking around the Botanical Garden, lovely memories of the day! Thanks for that ☺️ I really like your idea of a Winter garden series 👍👍
I'm so happy the Botanical Garden brought back such lovely memories for you! It really is a special place. I'm glad you liked the idea of a Winter garden series too-I think it could be a wonderful way to brighten up those cold, gray days. Thanks for sharing your thoughts! 🌿😊
The garden was lovely and the music perfect. I liked seeing the monuments in the graveyard. A garden series like you talked about would be so nice for the gray months.
You are such a lovely and charming tour guide. Here in Michigan, USA it is so dark and dreary today. I would thoroughly enjoy more tours from you. We all need blooms and gardens to help us get through the winter blues.
Love the walk through in the garden. Fall is my favorite time of year. I was surprised to hear that you visited Canada last year in the Niagara peninsula. I live there in St. Catharines 😂. We could have gone to the local pub.. 😊
Loved thus video. The gkass houses were magnificent. Especially the round one. Be architecture of theses buildings. What talent it took to buikd tgem Have a wobderful fall and holidays. We are comibg uo on Thanksgiving i. The U .S Take cars dear girl!!❤❤😊
Garden Answer…the huge trees they have planted…the gorgeous tree they have just wrapped in Christmas lights I do enjoy the channel. A series for next November would be wonderful. Take care xxx
Hello Ms. Catherine that is very beautiful garden. Every part are picture perfect. We do also have here a biological garden and it took us whole day to room around.
What beautiful gardens Catherine, thank you for taking us armchair viewing to such a lovely place. I love cottage gardens because to me a garden is all the gorgeous colours and forms of the flowers such as in Roses and Dahlias. I love your tours of Ireland showing me parts of my Grandparents birthplace, which I’m never likely to visit in person. 🥰👌💐
Please do release garden videos in winter! My favorite pelargoniums: Peppermint Tom and Chocolate mint. You can put clean leaves in a cake or loaf tin. Add your cake batter, bake, and invert the cake. The leaves add flavor and decoration. Sprinkle with a little confectioners sugar and serve for teatime.
This was so lovely Catherine. The colours are stunning and it is so neat and tidy. Lovely puss too. What a beautiful place. Loved the gentle music too. Nature in all it's glory is still beautiful nothing can take that away. I like it when someone says to me, "you're getting a drink". Ha ha Thank you Catherine.
If you prune back those pelargoniums and give them a nice feed you will have a nice show this winter. I actually enjoy mine in the winter more cuz I tend to ignore them in summer.😊 I really enjoyed your botanical garden tour.
Thankyou for sharing the lovely gardens especially the glasshouses. Yes please, the garden series sounds great. here in Australia we'd be heading into summer - so it tends to get too hot to do a lot other than keep the water up - but that doesn't matter. Gardening and gardening inspiration is an ongoing thing.
Yes please, it would be great if you could visit Bodnant Gardens, Eglwysbach. My Great Nain was the seamstress there during the beginning of the last century. I was born near the gardens. It really is a gem and I know you'd love it!
Hi Catherine, I really enjoyed this video and it was just a beautiful tranquil place to see . I think that’s a great idea you are thinking of doing I would love it . 💞🙋🏻♀️ Patricia xx
Oh this video is simply divine. The gardens, the music, I will watch this on a loop. It has also inspired me to get off my backside and visit my local botanic gardens. I actually took out a membership in the summer with great plans to visit regularly and I'm ashamed to say I've only been once. I love the idea of inspiration garden videos. Many thanks for this video, Catherine x
Thank you so much for your lovely message! I'm thrilled the video inspired you to visit your local botanic gardens-sometimes it’s just that little nudge we need. Don’t worry, you’ll make up for it with many more visits! I’m really excited about the idea of garden inspiration videos too, so I’m glad you like that concept. Hope you enjoy your next garden adventure! 🌷😊
Hi Catherine, I love that you get inspiration from Laura on Garden Answer. Great idea to save up some garden tours for when we need to be thinking about next years flowers 🌸 Love that you mention your trip to 🇨🇦 I’m in Amherstburg. About 3 hours south west of the Niagara area.
In the summer there's a beautiful jasmine that smells amazing in the green house, the botanical and glasnevin cemetery we're our playgrounds being from finglas west it was nearby and free, many happy memories.
I went to college in the Botanics the gardens were our classroom for Plant ID walks! Checkout Kilmacurragh next time it's at its best around May June, but they do have lovely spring bulbs too. Mount Congieve gardens in Waterford is one to put on your travel list well worth a visit!
Thank you so much for sharing this special place with us all. It made me feel so chilled and relaxed, what an amazing experience to go there!! P.S, bought both your books as gifts for Christmas, my Sister loves you and she got me watching you too. God bless
@daintydiaries We visited Ireland Samhain week and the Fall colours were beautiful! I particularly loved them at Glendalough, Blarney and St. Stephen's Green. Absolutely gorgeous. Here in Canada where I live (2 hours West of Toronto) the Fall colours are getting good around our Thanksgiving, mid October and last until about Halloween, after that the trees start to drop their leaves. I was so happy to see the Fall colours in Ireland, I was worried they would be mostly done by the time we got there. ♥
Wow, I haven't been in a glass house for a long time. Outside Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA, there are the Mitchell Domes. They're beautiful. The one you walked through is huge. Very, very pretty. Thank you for the tour.
You're welcome! The Mitchell Domes sound beautiful-I can imagine the charm of walking through them. The glasshouse I visited was indeed quite expansive, and it was such a treat to be surrounded by so many plants. It’s always a refreshing experience! If you ever find yourself in Ireland, I'd definitely recommend checking out the National Botanic Gardens. It's a lovely place to explore! 😊
Be sure to wait for one day after watering....then feed them....if you feed them the same day as you water them they could die or at least get sick. Also if they haven't been watered in awhile...let them sit in water (the container pot) into a 3 "or 4" deep bowl or dish and let them soak up as much as they need even though you water them from the top❤
Never realised how gorgeous the Botanical gardens are. As a Dub I need to visit ( never been ) Did you see the price of powerscourt gardens and waterfalls? Having said that it is worth a visit. X
Has the price gone up? I have a video from a few years ago from Powerscourt gardens, they are stunning! But so many ones managed by the OPW and local councils are so well kept and usually free to visit x
What a lovely place to visit.. your film did it proud! ( I don’t venture very far into the world these days but I revel tagging along with your adventures it helps so much thank you ) . Cheeky thumbs up, you’re inspirational❤
@@DaintyDiariesps I have invested in the Ryobi multi material saw thanks to you. I’ve not mastered it yet! Much more practice required, but what a versatile tool… 0:31
Yes please do. Some of us seniors can't get out as much as we used to. Yes a garden trip would be great.😊
Amen This was delightful...the music...perfect😊
Beautiful video! Thinking of you as you head into the holidays for the first time without your mother. I pray you fill your time with happy memories and start new traditions.❤️
Thank you, Catherine, for taking us along with you on such a beautiful walk through the gardens👍👍❤❤

The gardens! Gorgeously serene... Accompanied by sublime music... Thank you!!
Such a peaceful and beautiful video with calming music. Love it!
Brilliant content idea - I, too, would like to see how gardens change through the seasons.
Ahh that was lovely, Thank you x I feel all relaxed and serene now! I like the idea of seeing gardens in the winter, reminding us of warmer times.
I really enjoyed your video today, Catherine. I think your idea of a series of garden videos that you show in November and December next year would be great. Have a wonderful day. ❤
When I see the variety and beauty of flowers I’m just in awe of God’s creativity. I loved the shot you took entering the succulent house!

Im so glad you enjoyed it x
