I absolutely love Catwoman and this movie. This movie is my first introduction to Catwoman. And learning about the history of Catwoman in the special features had me over the moon as a child. Learning about Selina Kyle and watching Halle Berry portray this amazing version of Catwoman is truly a major part of my childhood.

All of her own stunts? Um lol. She was cgi’d most of the fight scenes. She rarely did anything herself aside from the whipping and kicks.

There was a dark Catwoman spin-off planned in the nineties with Michelle pfieffer starting and Tim Burton at least producing. It would've seen Catwoman go to a town that's ruled by villains. It never happened even though Michelle pfieffer was interested. I would love to see someone take that script and make a dark Catwoman film maybe even use the actress for Catwoman in the Rob Pattinson trilogy and spin her character off.

I love how they did this Catwoman with Halle Berry and I know I'm probably the only one. I'm very picky with my films, but this one was like bringing all the Catwoman together because in the very beginning a shows that other women have been Catwoman and blessed with the cat gift which I think is really cool because in a way it's like not leaving any of the women who have come before who have played Catwoman and it's also like inviting other women to play as Catwoman. I love the music in the film, and I really felt that the cast and crew had a great time working on this film.
I like your interpretation to the film and I totally agree. I like that every woman can be different and yet still be confident and empowered and still be catwoman. I really love Halle Berry as catowoman.
It's like The Avatar (The cartoon one not the blue one) when it's about a rare people that will come out one at the times. The cat will choose any women who are lucky enough to be Catwoman. Sure, it's different than the comic where Catwoman is just a regular cat burglar with gymanstic skills. But, this movie also shows us woman empowerement.
The society will find her weird because she's a weird masked chick who wears skimpy outfit that shows 75% of her skins even showing her cleavage and midriff. But, for her it's about being somebody new, she cut the black leather outfit that she wore on robbery as a metaphor that she is free from any of her insecurities as a shy and timid woman but this time, she doesn't care what society will say about her, she just further steps ahead of them since she has superpower and also because she accepted her mind is taking control of her power even that means she has to lose her humanity. That's why in the end, she dumped her boyfriend because she felt that she's out of this world now and she doesn't want him to get involved on her shenanigans anymore.

People were/are comparing her to Michelle Phifer (butchered it, ik) which doesn't even make sense because they're literally not the same Catwoman and both are amazing. It's bias. One had something the other didn't. For example, Halle's Catwoman actually has cat abilities- not just the attitude. Michelle's character had the best attitude (mainly because of the script, though) and, arguably, the best costume.

This movie is peak 2000s. The music, the visuals, everything just screams early noughties.
People only disliked this movie because they expected to see the catwoman from the comics. They can't realise that this has nothing to do with the comics. It's a different story in a different universe nothing to do with batman etc. That's a different catwoman altogether. They seem to be able to think only in boxes. Such closed minds. Whatever people say, this is still the best catwoman. The aesthetic and the atmosphere of the movie was amazing, the actress is gorgeous, the suit she's wearing is awesome, and the heroine actually does have cat-like abilities ( heightened senses, physical movements, etc. ). The moment from 0:00 to 1:24 is totally fitting for the movie and the character. So is 1:52, the cat under the full moon.
There’s much more to it then that. It’s just a super cheesy movie. Plus they over sexualize her so much. Can we just have ONE female villain that isn’t wearing a skintight/skimpy outfit, and can actually fight?
The cutaways make it feel like the cameras are fighting and that would have been a lot less cheesy

I didn't understand why some people hated this movie. Catwoman (2004) was my childhood movie, and I have fell in love with it every since I first saw it. I believe the reason why they hated it is because their jealous of it. Not all superhero characters have to be exactly the same way, you know. You can actually be creative with it, and come up with different storyline and costume. For example, Spiderman. Do you guys agree?

Halle Berry brought to the big screen what Eartha Kitt brought to the TV Show. It's all in the body language. She brings out that brilliant symphysis of the human and the feline. It's a joy to watch. I'm still not sold on those stiletto heels though. I would have given her split toed ninja boots.

The director didn't have a clue what he was doing with this movie, but halle berry's catwoman was still miles above anne hathaway's dreary rendition.
