Ironside was having health issues at the time and he thoughtfully stepped aside during Blacklist because he wasn't sure he'd make it through. Thankfully he recovered, is doing well, and is still on call as Sam :)
@@joep7586 In Blacklist instead of making him older they did what Sam in this video said the original team didn't want to do, make the main character a younger character that you see in a typical shooter.
@@MeruOnYT Michael Ironside has gone on record that he refused the role in Blacklist due to cancer, pancreatic i think, and so Ubisoft just decided to use the guy who was doing the mocap anyway. should splinter cell reappear, Ubisoft has made it clear they would revert to Ironside when possible, as proven by Sam Fishers cameo in Ghost Recon Wildlands where he's voiced by Ironside.
It’s actually pretty impressive that they didn’t use mocap cause I swear the physics and animations actually do look like they used motion capture. They’re that GOOD!
1:57 he hit the nail on the head there. It's such a well loved game mechanic, and I know I'm not in the minority in feeling that way. Such an immersive moody and gloomy feel, and the music adds a lot to every unique setting 😊
the fact this sort of gem would never be given the effort in a game now a days makes me sad - adds nothing to the gameplay or nothing, just all adds to the charm
I have only played Conviction and Blacklist, but I am planning to play Chaos Theory, most likely by the end of the year or next year. Would you recommend I play the other entries?
Sam forgot to mention his Mobile Infantry career. If you wondered how Sam can do the Split jump so well is because he has had reconstructive surgery on his lower part of his body before joining third echelon.
@@hcs4life21 The reason we haven't seen anymore Splinter Cell games is because Splinter Cell as a series was just not leftist enough at its core to get past the production process, they've tried many times.
I hope you guys are enjoying the video! Have a good day! :)
10 years later, we're still enjoying it!
Never get tired of seeing Ironside at work.
Thank god for having him in most of Splinter Cells series before switching to a new voice in Blacklist.
And thankfully they brought him back for the special operation in ghost recon wildlands ..
I'm sure he will be back in the next game after all the negative feedback for Blacklist.
@@JCDenton2000 I don't think his younger voice actor did a bad job, it would have been cool if blacklist was a prequel

sam, foreshadows splinter cell blacklist. funny guy
how does he foreshadow blacklist?

It’s pretty awesome that the Tom Clancy games exist in the same universe
I can always picture michael ironside having a huge smile while doing this part
I miss when the company did things like this
see, that requires creativity and a sense of humour... some things that most gaming companies today SEVERELY lack
I like how a secret operation "agent" is doing open interview 😂
I'll lose my shit meeting a real life splinter cell either awe or intense fear

I miss thinking games like this. I remember “renting” the original from a video store & being blown away. Went out & bought it the next week.
Haha I remember watching this on the original Xbox whenever I was bored when I was younger. Crazy how time flies.
We need a new splinter cell

Oh the good old days when Ubisoft was this amazing company that only made good games
Thank you. I love you for this video. Really great. 💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚

Wowee, the real life Sam Fisher!
Sam has no manners how to sit with guests 😂
Wow.
Oobi soft UWU *INTENSIFIED*
This was pretty cool

Rest in peace Ubisoft. Sad to see they were killed by liberalism.
What in God’s name are you talking about? Killed by liberalism?
