Micheal Ironside will be the only Sam Fisher for me. His voice is so unique, aggressive and iconic it truly can't be outdone. This new voice actor sucks, it's like the Bond films after Sean Connery stopped doing them........never feels the same.
same here... I had to stop playing it when I heard his voice. If u can't use the same voice actor, at least make a different agent. that would have made it a little better
I did my best to put it to the side. It ended up being a pretty badass Splinter Cell game. After finishing it though, I had to replay Conviction to fix my Ironside craving.
It's because it's something that's, to someone who isn't a killer, incongruous. However, for Fisher it fits; he's a killer, killing is *easy*. Michael Ironside once said that we usually have actors say "I'll Kill you" in frustration and "I love you" smoothly. He also said he preferred to reverse that trend; as people, love is difficult to express, usually shown in the heat of the moment, while the decision to kill has already been made, usually premeditated.
He absolutely did add character and depth to Sam. They give you enough to understand what kind of person he is, but Ironside's voice adds a level of experience and wear that not a lot of people can show. With the things Sam says and Ironside's voice, you instantly buy everything he says and feel like he is a middle aged man who has seen shit, done shit and still doing shit to protect the Country he loves. Like, they could have got a lot of other older actors to voice him and it probably would have been fine, but few characters in the history of gaming have been more accurately cast than Sam Fisher. Michael Ironside will forever be Sam. I really hope the rumors are true of him being back.
황원 Yeah, it was better than Conviction when it comes to stealth, but it is very competitive and you have to go fast through the missions to get a high score and sometimes it MAKES you play it guns blazing you don't have a choice.
황원 I don't know, Blacklist was quiet good actually, well at least to me. BUT when it is compared to the chaos theory, well... I think you got it right.
강영준 While Blacklist was rather good, the voice actor they got to replace Michael Ironside (makes me tear up that he got replaced) didn't do much of a good job. He went from a gravelly badass agent voice to the white half of Commander Shepard from Mass Effect. It sounds like they were trying to do a Michael Ironside impression but didn't fully commit. Not to mention giving Sam Fisher's entire character a make over that I was like "Ok...so when do I start playing as Sam Fisher?" Grimm: Hey, Sam? Can you come look at this? "Yea Sam, finally show up for once in your own game." I'm surprised Kobin recognized him after the facial surgery, the skin town change, the new hair style, and the high pitch voice.
Best Sam Fisher quote, in my opinion: Anna: The Maria Narcissa... Fisher: I hope you're not setting me up for another blind date. Anna: The Maria Narcissa is a boat. Fisher: So was the last woman you set me up with. Anna: Fisher! Fisher: Sorry.
Michael's advice here about having six different levels of emotional response for Sam is an amazing revelation. In game, you feel like Sam is a real living breathing person you can relate to - he doesn't feel like a video-game character.
He was a professional actor with YEARS of experience knowing the personality of Sam.... the top in his field. Now, whoever hired him deserves a award - whoever fired him deserves a few punches and to be interrogated and choked out by Sam Fisher!
I think Ubisoft was reserved to tell about Michael's health, he was facing cancer. At the time I thought it was ridiculous to just put another random guy's voice to Sam without further explanation and the result was terrible but now we know the truth (Michael himself explains it in an interview) it's understandable.
HE IS Sam Fisher! Could not imagine a better voice for Sam. Like he perfectly fit in the frame of a Elite Soldier. A man who saw the world and would do anything to protect his country. This Game is with me 20 years already.. I Hope he is coming back for the Remake of Splinter Cell which Ubisoft has announced..
Man, Michael Ironside is just Sam Fisher himself. It's like Mark Hammil as Joker, or David Hayter as Snake, or Kevin Conroy as Batman. No matter how good other actors can be, they just can't repeat the same magic.
Michael Ironside has such an incredibly deep and intimidating voice that I base the voice in my head on it whenever I play a silent protagonist in another game, like Fallout or Elder Scrolls.
Sam in Conviction was and still is the most battle-hardened version of any video game character I’ve ever felt while playing them. Right up there with Kratos in God Of War (2018)
He should have been the voice of Batman in The Dark Knight Returns. I love Peter Weller, but that famous line Batman says to Superman? Superman would have shat himself if Batman sounded like Michael, especially doing his Sam Fisher voice...
Reading these old comments makes me sad that we haven't gotten a new splinter cell game. We all love Michael Ironside for bringing that added personality to Sam Fisher.
The good old times, great voice, great game. Especially the chaos theory was a masterpiece, to this day that is the greatest stealth game of all times. Nothing beats that.
Such an awesome character actor and voice actor, and fair play to the writers for giving the guy a lot of great material to work with. The one that ALWAYS stands out to me is when Sam and Lambert are chatting on one of the Myanmar levels near an embassy, and Lambert cuts in and says "Good lord, that's general Kong Ferong!" Sam replies sarcastically by saying "Good lord... who's that?" 😅😝
The tone that ironside gave to fisher is like he is a real man. Blacklist fisher is like monotone robot kind of guy, no emotion whatsoever (well not everytime of course)
Happy Birthday Michael Ironside. UR amazing legend. I love Terminator 4 Salvation. It's super awesome. I watch all of them. Terminator is the best, movies. Seriously!!! Lake Placid 3 is great, also seen all of them... my older brother plays Splinter Cell not me. It is good game. Starship Troopers is fucking awesome. Again: seen all of them. Part 1 is good. And Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars is an awesome game... playing war games totally kool... and X-Men First Class, it's ok. Extremely Prejudice is not bad. I may have seen it, when I was younger. It's good. Major Payne is hilarious. Full support. UR great Michael. Seriously! UR very talented and wise. May the Peace be with u Michael Ironside. From Harlingen Texas. February 12, 1950 February 12, 2024 through February 12, 3024
I hope you guys are enjoying the video! Have a good day! :)
Thanks for uploading :)
He is Sam Fisher, no one else is good enough. Period.
+Dark3stB3foreDawn damn straight! Who the heck is this new guy?!
No arguments here.
hi
indeed
Micheal Ironside will be the only Sam Fisher for me. His voice is so unique, aggressive and iconic it truly can't be outdone. This new voice actor sucks, it's like the Bond films after Sean Connery stopped doing them........never feels the same.
Him not being in Blacklist ruined it for me
i didn't even touch it because Mike wasn't in it
same here... I had to stop playing it when I heard his voice. If u can't use the same voice actor, at least make a different agent. that would have made it a little better
JC Denton In Blacklist I felt so bored I changed the voices to another language to mitigate my disappointment
I did my best to put it to the side. It ended up being a pretty badass Splinter Cell game. After finishing it though, I had to replay Conviction to fix my Ironside craving.
Blacklist was a good game, I enjoyed it but Sam's voice actor was horrible. His voice was a mess, even Sadiq had similar voice to Sam Fisher.
"Medals wont help me sleep at night" is my fav quote from the entire franchise
Chaos Theory 🥲
The happy "Hi, I'm gonna kill you" is much scarier.
Lmfao true
Yes. The angry one sounds just like a threat, whereas the happy one sounds like an inescapable event.
It's because it's something that's, to someone who isn't a killer, incongruous. However, for Fisher it fits; he's a killer, killing is *easy*. That's how Joker would say it.
Of course, though with a big laugh after.
There is only one SAM FISHER: HIS NAME IS MICHAEL IRONSIDE!
He absolutely did add character and depth to Sam. hi
Spot on
I know I'm late but I figured why not, if you watch the new ghost recon trailer it has Micheal voicing Sam in it
Why’d he leave in the first place?
@@Salamander676He had cancer during the making of Blacklist, and at the time he didn't want it to be public.
Ubisoft, if he doesn't voice Sam in the next Splinter Cell i'm not buying it dammit.
Amen
Same.
Ku Pru YAY
O_O YES!
I doubt there'll be another Splinter Cell game after Blacklist.
I miss the old splintercell
William Swain The last good splinter cell was in 2005. I'm impressed whenever someone remembers the old splintercell.
황원 Yeah, it was better than Conviction when it comes to stealth, but it is very competitive and you have to go fast through the missions to get a high score and sometimes it MAKES you play it guns blazing you don't have a choice.

Me too :(
Bring michael back please

The one and ONLY Sam Fisher
hi
the voice of God.
hi
All hail DARKSEID!!!
Hail Darkseid!
Thats a good one!
For Darkseid
god he is talented

He didn't get fired. I think he was very sick and couldn't do the voice acting for a while.
@@kilo393 exactly

He came back in Ghost Recon Wildlands. Sam was really fucking old in that game though, like retiring age old
They should have had him take over for Lambert.
No subsitute for Ironside he is the true Sam Fisher
I wish I could speak like Sam Fisher and have an intimidating voice like him.
Bring him back for the next Splinter Cell. 200th thumbs up. Woot!
Michael Ironside should do the voice of Deathstroke some time.
He should because his voice sounds badass
HE IS Sam Fisher! Could not imagine a better voice for Sam. Like he perfectly fit in the frame of a Elite Soldier. A man who saw the world and would do anything to protect his country. Best Actor, Powerful voice! What else you need.
He’s great as Sam. I wish Michael Ironside did an interview about voicing Darkseid.
You can't replace this guy no matter how hard you try
Man, Michael Ironside is just Sam Fisher himself. It's like Mark Hammil as Joker, or David Hayter as Snake, or Kevin Conroy as Batman. No matter how good other actors can be, they just can't repeat the same magic.
If I had his voice, I'd never stop talking like Sam
Michael's voice and face of George Clooney it's a perfect connection for the Sam Fisher
I love his voice
4 ever Sam Fisher
i love his voice
Omg I remember after playing the Game was surprised by this Interview and Sam‘s. ❤️
Wonderful memories
Michael Ironside has such an incredibly deep and intimidating voice that I base the voice in my head on it whenever I play a silent protagonist in another game, like Fallout or Elder Scrolls.
I love his explanation of how he breaks down a character to precisely 6 to 8 levels of emotion
Best voice ever!!
When they eventually bring Darkseid to the big screen, this guy needs to voice him. Just like the cartoon.
Bruh I have heard sam fisher so many times to the point where I totally forgot that there is an actual voice actor voicing him
Even the Splinter Cell book was pretty good, this dude can turn any medium into gold
I wish i had a voice like his
Lets all send him a letter show him how much we really appreciated what he did for the character that taught us how to play it stealthy
To think I was just a kid and had no idea the gravity of what I was playing.
Loved every second though.
He's the only guy who hasn't sound like a dork while voicing Darkseid - he definitely fit the part of Fisher.
This is one of the greatest videos I've ever seen. Like ever.
I like to play Conviction just to hear his voice. Also I will die a happy man if he does the voice for Darkseid in the new JL movie.
If Michael continued to do some TV Shows, would love to see him play on Law & Order Organized Crime with Chris. The 2 tough guys.
All I hear is Darkseid. All Hail Darkseid!!!!
Just like Sean Connery will always be James Bond…Michael Ironside will always be Sam Fisher 😎
I REALLY hope Ironside notices all of his fans saying that he IS Sam Fisher and it'll convince him to come back to the series..
too late
he's so underrated
Sam in Conviction was and still is the most battle-hardened version of any video game character I’ve ever felt while playing them. Right up there with Kratos in God Of War (2018)
Even in his happy voice, Michael Ironside sounds menacing. He was phenomenal as Sam Fisher
an absolute legend!
If we can get one more game with Michael Ironside, that would make me extremely happy.
Remake will hopefully have him
If you close you're eyes sam is talking to you. XD
LEGENDARY VOICE
Happy birthday michael from italian boy live in rome
“See you at the party Fisher!”
Splinter Cell without Michael Ironside just isn’t Splinter Cell.
1:00 - I absolutely love the booming "Why" part of "Why is the Russian military here?"
He is Sam fisher !!
Great voice. Great game.
Hey, it's the voice of TFP Ultra Magnus!
That's right
I just heard Darkseid/Sam Fisher say “Bob’s your uncle”... I can die happy lmao
I was watching Total Recall when I heard his voice. Never knew that was him until now.
1:21 the original "OOF"
0:16
Good God that made me spit out my water!
Now I'm going to be looking for eight levels of emotion whenever I watch darkseid clips
best game voice actor ever
Fisher telling me he’s going to kill me in a cheerful manner is somehow infinitely more terrifying LOL
His voice makes sam , sam fisher 👌
Both variations of "Hi, i'm going to kill you" Are still terrifying lol
0:16 I think the happy guy saying "Hi, I'm gonna kill you" is also frightening LOL
He should have been the voice of Batman in The Dark Knight Returns. I love Peter Weller, but that famous line Batman says to Superman? Superman would have shat himself if Batman sounded like Michael, especially doing his Sam Fisher voice...
He's also darksid.
whoa I shocked that after watching scanner 1981 film and stumble upon him being sam fisher voice.
He IS Sam Fisher , same as how David Hayter IS Solid Snake
Perfect voice for Sam Fisher
Childhood memories. Man
Excellent voice

Apparently they're remaking the first game.

god, i didn't realize how i missed that voice.
nah, let's be real. i totally knew how much i miss that voice.
He was a beast sooo fricking good!
just imagine him sneaking up on you and saying something creepy
that's as close you can get to Sam fisher
i love it 😍😍😍😍
Whether voice acting or live acting, he was always on top of his game.
Awesome :)
THE BEST SAM FISHER EVEER!!!
Anyone else imagining him as Batman? I mean 0:55 God damn! That'll make those so-called Gotham thugs scream for mommy haha.

He ever voiced batman before.

0:18 Picture Darkseid always speaking with this tone. I think he could've been even more terrifying.
Maranatha!
Michael Ironside would make a maniacal Far Cry villain
The tone that ironside gave to fisher is like he is a real man. Blacklist fisher is like monotone robot kind of guy, no emotion whatsoever (well not everytime of course)
what a voice, Sam fisher

Ironside is the what Kevin conroy and David hayter was for Batman and snake. 3 best stealth voice actors.
Holy crap Tyler from heavy metal 2000!
