Einer der wahren Großen war heuer zu Gast beim SLASH Filmfestival - und wir sind geehrt und gerührt, ihm einen ganzen Abend gewidmet zu haben. 1981 feiert er als eskalierender Untergrund-Kämpfer in David Cronenbergs SCANNERS einen ersten Welterfolg und auch sonst hat das Jahrzehnt viel Bedarf für seine zugespitzte Schauspielkunst. 1990 folgt mit TOTAL RECALL die erste Zusammenarbeit mit dem niederländischen Meisterregisseur Paul Verhoeven, unter dessen Regie er auch in STARSHIP TROOPERS zu sehen ist. Darüber, dass er beim Schauspielern gerne Risiken eingeht und über hoffentlich viel mehr erfahrt ihr bei unserem Gespräch mit Mr. Ironside himself.

I love Michael Ironside ever since he was in the TV miniseries V. Great guy

Michael Ironside is one of the most consistently badass actors I can think of. Even if he's in a bad movie, he's going to give it his all.
I got to meet Michael Ironside today at Comic Con Manchester 2024 and I'll tell you, it'll be one of my most treasured memories.
There's a warmth he brings and his words carry such strength. To have exchanged a brief talk and shook his hand was an honour.

Michael Ironside is such an wonderful and one of an kind person. So humble and funny! Tells the stories the way they are without making things "pretty".
Was an honour to meet him here in Finland at an Filmfestival called NightVisions, had a chance to get an autograph on my Scanners -poster and took and picture with him.
Such an blast and he even made some funny jokes about me and going bald with my hat on :D

Michael Ironside is far more funnier than I expected. If I were a big time director, I'd pay him a king's ransom to work with him.
