Hey, there's some Dreams Come To Life novel spoilers here. But I'm really glad that there's another game coming out, it's awesome! What a way to spend the 3rd anniversary, eh? If you don't mind the spoilers, here's a quick summary of DCTL for you before you read on this theory:
So, Dreams Come To Life starts off with a 17 year old named Buddy, who eventually works at Joey Drew Studios to supply his mother and grandfather. He meets a girl named Dot, who is a writer for the studio. They go off on a little adventure, and Buddy discovers Bendy. Bendy is locked in the infirmary, and Buddy accidentally lets him out in order to investigate. Yada yada, nothing really big happens until the nearing end of the book. Sammy, who seems to have drank all the ink and has completely turned nuts from it decides to sacrifice Norman, and two other workers aside from Buddy and Dot to Bendy. Buddy and Dot escape, but I think Sammy and the others got attacked by Bendy. Norman and the other two workers "died" (i put it in quotes, since Norman dies and becomes the Projectionist in the game) but Sammy somehow disappears or something. So, Buddy and Dot run along somewhere, and Bendy catches them. They have a fight, and Dot is saved. However, Buddy is not. Bendy (*in his beast form) kills him pretty gruesomely, but then Buddy awakens.. as Boris. Joey put him through the ink machine or something, and he wakes up as Boris fully. So, Joey's all like "I fixed you" and Buddy Boris is all like "Oh fuck no you didn't, you son of a bitch lmao" and runs away into the deep depths of the studio. Buddy eventually gets consumed by Boris's identity fully, because he basically was turned into Boris so it fully consumes him. That's also the reason why he can't exactly speak at all in the game, since Boris doesn't talk in the cartoons, let alone know how to talk at all. He's kinda like a person, living off of survival. He doesn't know how to think, but to survive. That wraps it up a bit.
But, I figured something real quick. This has to not be Boris, but rather Buddy before he got consumed by Boris's identity. I did a quick search, and some of these things that you can find in this trailer can also be found before chapter 3. In chapter 3, you can find (and i'm pretty sure you can also use) the helmet that Boris is wearing, and honestly a majority of the items that you can scavenge for, or that are kinda just laying around in this trailer can definitely be found in Boris's safe-house, right in his room where you wake up in chapter 3 i'm pretty sure. So, this takes place before Henry, but since you can control Boris sensibly i'm pretty sure this takes place somewhere new since, at least in the trailer, Alice Angel isn't present so she clearly isn't around to hunt him down.
We'll see though. Also, damn Boris surely can dance, lmao. See you guys back to edit this in a few days, on February 10th when this game is released!

But when we look at FNAF game- games- how many??? idk they made so much games that I can't even count. Actually it isn’t, it’s the music that plays in chapter one with the projector, when you start in the game, you walk down the hallway and there is a projector in front of you, if you go near it, it plays the same tune. It’s not “Can I get an amen” by CG5 but I get where you’re coming from.

There's two Boris's for some goddamn reason, but yeah lol why the hell did he pull a stunt on us again to come back alive haha
There was a theory going around based on the bendy book, dreams come to life, in which the Boris from chapters 1 through 4 is Buddy, an old worker from the studio who helped take down the Ink Demon(hence it's injuries) in the past, both drowning and later being reborn according to that book being before the game, and the same Ink Demon with the same exact injury returning. They were taken out the same way, so it'd make sense they'd be reborn the same way, both as inky creatures of some kind. The ink was also confirmed to be a living organism which acts as a parasite when ingested. As for Tom there's no evidence backing up his true identity, whether he's some sort of infused clone of Thomas Connor, or Thomas Connor himself. It would make sense for him to be Thomas since Allison is supposedly his wife according to the bulletin board at the end of the main game.
