I noticed some people saying they loved the angles. As someone who has 50+ years 9in enertainment technology - mostly lighting, the goal is to establish lighting zones just like they did here then light each area with 2 lighting instruments - 1 from stage right and 1 from stage left with both being as close to 45 degrees as possible. The hair lights don't have to be at 45 degrees, but I never shot them straight down. You need to light the top of the head and shoulders as well as the back of the head and shoulders with the bleed over Great video and you guys are on the right track to having a lighting rig that will meat all you needs and really kicks.

So what kelvin are they using? I struggling at my church because our lights are 3k but the prior production person put gels to make them 5k but it just doesn’t look right

I’m the AV Director and, by default, the lighting director/designer. Our bass player is visible. I am also the bass player. :D Seriously, all our instrumentalists are important and have enough light to be seen in the cameras, even if they would rather not be seen (ahem).
Bro. This is 100% true. All on the stage are equally important in God's eyes, hence all have to highlighted. Maybe in different contrasts, but definately not meant to be left in the dark.
Great thought! However, what they are trying to accomplish by lighting instrumentalists dimmer is not primarily removing people from a shot, it’s actually subject-background contrast. Subject-background contrast is extremely important in engaging an online audience and in making sure the attention of a shot is drawn to the subject. The fact of the matter is that if you have a shot that is meant to focus on the worship leader and the instrumentalist behind them is just as well lit, they become a distraction to the subject of the shot. This is much less engaging and professional looking than having a clear subject in a frame. Some shots, such as a master shot of the whole stage, are often meant to draw attention to instrumentalists just as much as the worship leaders, but shots that are focused on worship leaders are incredibly important. That being said, I understand your reasoning behind lighting your instrumentalists enough to be seen. There can be other ways to introduce subject-background contrast, although they are not as easy. Here are a couple I can think of:
-Depth of field: While more expensive lenses will help you achieve a shallower depth of field, this is expensive and you can likely move some of your cameras closer and use tighter shots in order to have a shallower depth of field.
-Placement of the instrumentalists on the stage: if you have a camera that often/always goes to one subject on the stage, place any other people in a place where they will not interfere with that shot.
As a drummer, this lighting offends me. 😂 Otherwise, great job!
Try some side light on your musicians - you can do less saturdared colors on them that compliment the saturated top light color. This will light your band for camera a little better.
Doesn't look over done and that's great! It seems with all the technology we have today we shouldn't have to rent a lift right? So put the fixtures on an electrical circuit so we can move them horizontally. Tricky? Yes. Invented yet? nope! 😂

So on a previous one of these you emphasised the need for consistency in the naming scheme for the church's live-stream, but this video lacks the naming scheme established in that video. LOVE the content though, just enjoyed the irony of that. Maybe:

Yeah sometimes I come up with ideas for the staff members a churches I help. It’s their decision whether or not to actually make it part of their systems. Lol. In this case they have not done that (yet).
I think you're on the right track if you're going for the seeker friendly Bethel-ish look. Maybe a stronger backlight could help. Idk if it's just an exposure thing, or if they bleed to much on the stage, but in my opinion the house lights could be slightly brighter so the people in the seats look a bit more distinctive.

not sure i like the philosophy of only lighting the front line. i think theres a lot to be gained from a team that looks uniform and can be seen interacting with each other or worshipping alone, plus eliminates any tension that might be present. also i think having silhouettes behind well-lit subjects does not look good
