Great information. We’re dealing with a sanctuary building with tons of natural light. We have front lighting, but it’s too weak and poorly set up, and it gets washed out by the natural daylight. We also have about zero money.
How do you light a stage without any stage lighting mounts? Seems like for most lighting you need a full lighting frame to mount all the lights you need which is not something small churches who rent spaces can achieve.
Thank you for the explanations! I have a question. My local church building is 8 meters wide. Are two key lights enough? Each of them is a Fresnel COB 200 watts. Can someone with knowledge please answer me?
When the stage area is all black and do have 4 current spots above at around 15' height and about 8' back from the front of the stage and pointing to the front area of the stage, there is still problems with most camera's having a focus issue from say 15 to 40 plus feet back from the front of the stage, The problem is the depth of field to focus on the pastor and the back projector screen which around 15 to 20 ft behind. It's either focused on the person and the screen is out of focus or visa-versa for live streaming due to the camera issues for depth of field.
Please make a video how all the displays are connected throught the church(at a budget). Not mirrored but extended. Mac apparently supports only 2 monitors
I'm sure this is in this video somewhere but How are you controlling all of the lights? Also what is on the other end of the lights that is allowing you to control them?
This was the video I have been waiting for so long May the Lord bless and strengthen you for more If you could advise me on led walls as display I mean the prizes and how they work
One of our biggest challenges right now is that when we front light out pastor, the light hits the back wall which is undesired. I believe our lights are at a 45 to where the pastors head is, but it's still hitting the back wall. Any tips on this? Should we do a more downward angle and move them closer? Or is it simply that our stage is too shallow? We're working with about 15 feet deep and 40 feet wide.
Hi Jake... just out of curiosity, are you a lighting designer by practice? I'm actually from the architectural lighting industry and a believer as well and chance upon this video and it intrigues me so much. Love all the familiar technical terms for lighting theory and putting them into church lighting concept.
This is useful for satanists also, but we use more kick and we lower it until it becomes s backlight and very little front lighting from a very low height. We lower both these lights. Sometimes we just use side lighting from both sides if there will be dancing.
That is what I am thinking about too. We have a 10' ceiling I think (I should know since I rebuilt our AV closet). The room is wide but shallow so our stage is also wide and shallow. I want to say 8' deep stage. I have a tape in the car to measure tomorrow.
I hear ya. I do enjoy lights and tech but I can’t help wonder how many starving children could we feed if all of our church’s took our lighting money and gave it to the poor. After all isn’t that our mandate?
I am Catholic, but I've been in the churches and temples of many denominations and faiths and have never had trouble seeing the priest/minister/rabbi, monk etc. It seems to me that if you're worried about "professional lighting", your concern is anywhere but with the actual worship.
Very useful. It will help me a lot to enhance the lights in my church. Need to work out first in 1-2 steps.. Thank you and God bless u.

@@benjamin.kelley my church is so small, trust me, you’d know if we were going to the same church.
Same, thank God for increase in all of our churches
Our building also has a ton of backlight.
So what is the solution? How it was fixed?
I agree this is great information. These concepts are very crucial to provide to anyone who is starting out in this ministry. I am taking notes.
Could you give us a list of fixtures you are currently using?
Hi Jake. Thank you for sharing these info. They are really helpful.
Was really looking forward to this ! Good stuff! Our team is going to love it.
Any tips for a space that has 10' ceilings and is only about 35 feet from the stage?
Thank you for wonderful details for Church lighting.

Good job, and how about the height of the lights? Blessings
Can a kick light rotate as the subject moves on the stage?

Did you ever solve this issue?
What is the church lighting device you are using? Can you answer ? Thanks
Lots of good information. I am wondering is the degree of light angle based a certain area? Like their feet or head or some place on the stage?
Hi, possible can assist or comment on our current church ? Can drop a contact method

Thanks Jake .... what Key/Kick lights do you guys specifically use at church?

What about putting front washlight if our ceiling is just 8ft?

I think at that height it's probably time to look at Sky Panels , Astera panels or some other panel type leds.
He had when he "pitched down the Nice tutorialgh hats at the end of the phrase. "
and willing nice tutoet League teams and players to chose as their editor. More money for tho. It is pretty cool to see the progress I
How do you get someone to realize the lighting sucks, when sucky lighting is all they know?

One thing people talking about light gon do is wear is hat 😂. Solid info though
You mean key light. lol
Church has become club
Good information!
Yeah its all about presentation and marketing. I thought Jesus does not need this. Perhaps all the production stands in a way of God.

Each point you make takes way too much verbiage.
Creative = Dopamine hit
Worship God in SPIRIT and in TRUTH. It isn’t in the physicality or the aesthetics. The theology is way off…
Just turn the lights on and leave them on. Church is not a concert or movie theater!!
Your analyzing the SCIENCE of light, yet saying 'God' created it. I think you're very confused.
Thank you ❤
Thank you
