Special forces, read Empire of the Summer Moon, by Gwynne. Comanche really did hang off their horses' neck while shooting arrows. He said they could let go three arrows from that position before a settler could reload-- and hit the target. He also said, the warriors quite using flint for heads once the European showed up on the plains. They prefered small bits of metal instead which made the projectile more stable. I have a Comanche which is 63# @22 draw and trust me, you needn't pinch draw for hunting. draw it at it's max with 3 fingers, but no tab and make an extra heavy string for stability. The silence the string offers makes it just right
I'm a professional cabinet maker and don't do anything without power tools and could make a bow in a fraction of the time you spent on it. I dig the content and appreciate your work.
@@kevinmaughan4290that's such a cool comment. It's such a strange fact that makes you think! 160 years ago this land was incredibly different and still in what we would call prehistoric era type of technology. Meanwhile the Greeks and Europeans and Indians and Asians were doing massive works of architecture and literature 3000 years ago. Crazy how the planet works. Don't mean to say the American Natives lived bad, but how quickly progress has happened for the entire planet. Teepee Nomads who don't have the wheel to Walking on the Moon in 300 years. Fascinating.
Yes I'm pretty sure you could I've made English short bows outta Osage that where functionaly the same so I know it's possible and I'm in texas in the middle of Comanche territory hell Comanche texas is a hop skip and a jump away cool factoid about Comanche texas that town was where the last American outlaw was hung and the tree still stands in front of the court house
Of all the people on youtube that show how to make a bow, only you are on the right track.Whoever taught you to make a bow, they did it right.
Why is he the only one doing it right?

Where’d you find this Bowie knife. Lovely😊
First like, then watch!
What is your string made of?
Love the short bows, but I haven't gotten the hang of anything less than 52" yet that I'd be comfortable hunting with
Nice build!
Since you've built so many, maybe you would consider selling some of them.
I can just imagine the time when herds of Red Bulls roamed the prairie and were harvested by mounted Comanches!
Less than a 160 years ago, mind blowing stuff, especially when you read the history.
