is this the creative process ?

To simply make art is different than understanding, questioning, exploring, and implementing it. As a younger version of myself, I didn’t pay attention to it like I thought I did. Certainly not as I do now. My focus was elsewhere, perhaps preoccupied by the navigation of life or something of the lesser sorts. I made art casually, painting and drawing what I thought would be praised. The people around me were always pushing me towards what I thought was a very bland and boring style of art. Because of this, the art I didn’t make started to grow inside my mind instead. I started building a huge world inside my head of all the things I wanted to be and create and see and feel. Yet it seemed like something that I wasn’t actually going to be able to achieve. The energy I got from these thoughts and ideas felt entirely unreachable, but totally rapturous. So when recently my life started to feed me little hints of this energy, I started to follow it. And it’s growing. I won’t enclose the full details of where I think it is taking me, I want to get to know it first, to touch it first. This is something bigger than I had before, and I’m going to grow with it. Whatever I have been creating in my mind and dreams is now coming to fruition within my reality. As I tap into freedom and playfulness with life, the more I find myself in front of a mirror of who I am in my mind. I’m looking forward to creating more and growing my passion for art because I truly am falling in love with it. It feels like me and my dreams are simultaneously running at full speed but also dancing two inches apart, and all I can focus on is the anticipation of the moment we touch.
