    No need to be self critical of your presentation skills - they are very good indeed, as is the camerawork.
    Thank you for your informative insight to the e-type front suspension. Those torsion bars are certainly 'hefty' compared the Marina 1.8TC I owned in the 70s'.
    I'm surprised to note that the torsion bar and wishbone are not in the same axial plane - ie. the torsion bar flexing through a few degrees of arc as well as twisting?
    I recall supporting the Marina's torsion bars with a jack to replace trunnions - happy days c.1975

      At the end of the day torsion bars do the same job, No matter what CAR THERE ON, Thank you very much for your comments,
      The issue with metal is it has a memory but it depends on how and when it was made, Cheers Dave

    I don’t have a Jaguar anymore. Used to have a MK2, unfortunately, never an E-type. I still love to watch your videos on the Jags. Always learn something that is applicable to any number of car models. Thanks very much, Dave!

      Lin, I had a Mk 2 many moons ago but it was when nobody wanted them in the late 70s lol. Cheers Dave

    It is amazing how such a small adjustment can have such a large movement in the ride height, well done. Kind regards, Richard.

      Richard, Thank you, In part 3 i mention how much the adjustment was for 1 spline, Cheers Dave

      The series 2 cars are much more affordable than the series 1 & 3 cars, The down side is the parts are almost the same price.
      I like the series 1 look better then the other two models particularly the covered headlights & the lights above the bumpers.
      Cheers Dave

    Very interesting Dave, I've never worked on a torsion bar sprung car, good job too cause I think I would have moved it one spline the other way! Hopefully you'll show us the teardrop end in the next installment! I'll be watching out for the notification..... Cheers! 👍😎

      Andrew, I did use the remote mike at the start of the video but not all the way through, I had grease & dirt on my hands most of the time and was busy in between preparing the shoots & working on the car as it takes a lot of time to film & do the job. Cheers Dave

    David, it was an early racing mod to turn the front suspension down one spline because at the extreme, the handling is better and it reduced the tendency for the front of the car to lift aerodynamically at high speed. Not necessary for the road. Just wondered what max speed you achieved on the German Autobahns when you brought it to the UK a couple of years back?

    • @ClassicCarCave
      @ClassicCarCave  3 года назад +1

      I didn't know that but it makes sense it would have been used in a racing set up, I went for the adjustable plate because i could not
      remove the rear anchor off the splines and felt it would give me some room to adjust the ride height, Cheers Dave
