      Wonder what Hannah was saying after Gabrielle Pickle left. Gabrielle smiled at her as she was walking by, Hannah was casting a death stare, the camera came back to her sitting there and one of the words was ‘fu@k’ it was very tight lipped so to me she seemed upset.

In reality he might be in the same chain of thought, that his name and having her around his workplace would be enough "training" already.

She's correct not to guess and make the defence ask a proper question with context.

    • @JHJHJHJHJH
      @JHJHJHJHJH 8 месяцев назад +4

      Because she didn't check it.
      I agree. Let's pretend there is a mass conspiracy. Every single person on the set swapped out all the dummies for live rounds in order to frame the defendant. The point of this trial from the state is to show the defendant caused the death through recklessness and negligence. She was the armourer and she was supposed to check each round before giving the gun to anyone. She was also supposed to ensure her weapons and rounds were kept locked away when not in use. She herself has claimed to hand off the gun without checking on the assumption that it had been checked before lunch, even while admitting others had access to the safe. She herself admitted that she dumped the weapons and ammo loose on the cart.
      Defence is trying to cause doubt by hinting at conspiracy, inexperience, pressure, jealous exes. While I don't think this happened, It is true that anyone could have placed anything anywhere at any time and led to this. That is because the defendant was negligent in her handling of the weapons and rounds and that is what prosecution is arguing. Even if she had continued to lazily defer handling of these things to others and had rounds all mixed up in bags in her car and various pockets, this could all have been avoided by doing that extra check after lunch. She didn't. The things defence are arguing actually all go against her because they indicate a dire need to check each round and each weapon repeatedly and thoroughly, even if that was not her normal practice - which it damn well should have been.

I understand the boxes may have had mixed ammo before they even got to the set.
      Also, something about different manufacturers & reconditioning --which I did not fully grasp.
      In short, no rigorous sourcing, checking & following of procedures. And 3 people handling the guns, a prop truck not locked & a basic carte accessible to anyone --with twi young women with little experience & no authority.

    I wanted to know what the armorer’s education, training, and experience was prior to starting work on the movie Rust. What I found is listed below:
    She studied film at Northern Arizona University and graduated in 2020. Gutierrez-Reed's coursework included cinematography and lighting-design classes, as she wanted to become a cinematographer, per the outlet. Gutierrez-Reed had just a handful of other film gigs on her résumé before Rust.
    This is important because she was trying to train and govern actors in a field in which she knew nothing. This is a great example of the blind leading the blind. It makes this a real tragedy because qualified armorers can be found…if nothing else…get a prior service military armorer. That’s not a perfect solution, but it’s better than nothing. They acted like the position of armorer on the movie was a feel good position, and that simply isn’t true. So, the actors were suspected to trust and rely on someone who lacked the life experience, maturity, certifications, education, training, and experience. She wants to train them, but she does not have their respect because she does not have the qualifications. This is the most important aspect of the shooting, and nobody is talking about the armorers lack of qualification.
    This does not mean she was not a nice person…she just wasn’t qualified to do the job; college class is on cinematography or film mean nothing on this subject. The accident happened because she was not qualified, was sloppy, was not respected, had no authority, and lacked the education, training, and experience. This was an accident waiting to happen.
    Your thoughts…
    TrainWreck

      I agree with you that it has become pretty apparent from court testimony that she didn’t have the experience or the maturity to be head armorer on such a gun heavy set however, I don’t agree that she “knew nothing” about ammo & gun safety. It sounds to me like the bulk of her training came from her father who is a leader in this industry- he said he began teaching her “everything [he] knows” when she was a child & gun safety was a huge part of that. IMO she no doubt had the knowledge but I believe her inexperience in this role combined with her immaturity were large contributing factors in what happened here.
      She stated Alec was not showing up for training & was on the phone when he did show up & that it was too difficult to tell this big star actor what to do. That could very well be true but it also further speaks to her inexperience. One would expect a Head Armourer to possess the skills necessary to take control of every weapon on the set and every person whose hands are on them no matter how famous they are. And if her statements are true- she could have called her father for advice on how to handle the Baldwin situation.
      Shame on her for accepting & remaining in a position she wasn’t ready for & shame on the Rust personnel responsible for hiring her when they ought to have known she wasn’t experienced enough.

    This LEO has lost all credibility for me after this cross!! Although I still believe Hannah Reed was responsible for every weapon every round,dummy or other wise on that set and is indeed guilty of negligence. Unfortunately she couldn’t or wouldn’t stand up for herself and the lives of those put in her hands by demanding a clean organized space that NOONE touched but her. As the Armorer she is responsible to make those firearms safe and should have never handed them to anyone except the person who was holstering it. A check then should have been done with that actor if they didn’t want a check then they shouldn’t have received the weapon. Alec Baldwin or an unknown actor no difference. If that secondary check was done there would have been no death. She should have been the only person loading those weapons. As an Armorer she would have known there was a live round if she was paying attention. Alec Baldwin not only as a gun owner but as the writer,director and producer should have demanded the check of that weapon in front of him and only then she should have declared that weapon “safe or cold” Hannah was cocky and over confident I believe bc her father has been a film Armorer for 30 yrs and he trained her (my opinion) there are actors such as Keanu Reeves and Nicholas Cage who have said they do not Allow any cutting of corners when it comes to gun safety on their sets.

      I think you're kinda transferring responsibility here. Everybody is. She wanted time to train Alec in the cross draw. You know what training is? That's telling and showing someone how to do something. How to do it, how to make it look right, how to do it safely. What happens if the gun is loaded with blanks and the hammer is resting on a hot chamber and the hammer catches his coat lapel on the way out?? BOOM!!! Some ammos will go off dropping them on the floor. Or sitting on a cart in the sun on a hot day.

    • @fedfraud.protection.servic2557
      @fedfraud.protection.servic2557 8 месяцев назад

      O BTW. That cavity is called a chamber. It's in a thing called a cylinder. Six chambers to a cylinder. Shells slide into the chamber when you load the gun. She was loading dummies, which look like a real live bullet for the most parts, except that they don't go boom. Often made out of live ammo that has gone boom and makes the casing a little larger so it doesn't always fit in every chamber. But, just to make sure that was it she cleaned the chamber and probably tried a different dummy round. Or, she's just making this up so she doesn't have to explain the real reason that she left the chamber empty so she wouldn't have to argue with someone that thinks that they know more about guns than she does. What do you think it is?

Further armory and prop truck are inventoried each night to cover last minute script changes, rehearsals, turning camera around and essential and keep on top of script changes!--If you know how to do the job and run 2 departments. Why in God's name did Hannah submit a receipt to get reimbursed for an inertia puller? An inertia puller a.k.a. bullet puller is only used to remove bullets/projectiles from the casings of fully assembled rounds. It's typically used by people to reload live ammo or dissemble live ammo for a number of reloading reasons. It does make perfect sense for an Armorer to have one, since it can be used to confirm without a doubt that a dummy round has no gun powder in it, or has BB's, or check to see if the primer is inert, etc. But she never mentions doing any of these types of procedures. IMO She doesn't seem to have the expertise to even know what an inertia puller is. I shudder to think of the alternate explanation for her possessing that tool.

    She's immature for LOTS of jobs out there, let alone being responsible for weaponry in a filming set. The way of talking (lots of cursing), the age, her baby-like reaction when confronted by the first officer...
    She must be held accountable, but so does whoever hired her as well. It was crystal clear she was not fit for the job, regardless who was her father and all.

    Why did Alec Baldwin hire this young girl to do this job??? Could he get what he wanted for less money & control conflict ?

      Baldwin did not hire her or anyone his producer title was creative fluff his role as producer did not involve such things as crew hire location etc he helped on the script and would get back kick money from profits as a “producer” both the director and jenson ackles have tried to explain this yet everyone keeps saying Baldwin hired her or cut costs. Nope the department heads hired their own people keeping within their allocated budgets given out via the actual REAL producers who are in charge of money etc so Baldwin can’t actually b touched as a producer as he wasn’t a “real” producer and as an actor well he was told the gun was cold as in even if he pulled the trigger 100x it would not go off as safe so he was lead to believe all was safe and was instructed by halayna herself to take the gun out and position it in such a way that they can c the dummies in the barrel and get the specific shot they want I believe even in one clip you hear a male voice tell him to take the gun out and point to which Baldwin confirms you want me to whip it out …. Yes…. Ok and point it at which side of the camera left or right camera B?……males voice “yes” soooo he was told gun was safe had no reason to lie about pulling trigger cause that still would not have put him at fault as told gun was cold and only pointed in at camera side as A. He was led to believe cold gun no harm can come from it and B he was instructed to do so. Tbh I don’t see how they are going to get a jury to find him guilty.

    I think she is responsible for the death, but I feel sorry for her. Who hires a young, inexperienced person to do such a complicated job involving firearms? I feel like they wanted to save money and hired the least expensive person they could get by with. They wanted to fulfill the need for an armorer with someone they could push around. Baldwin wanted to play cowboy, and didn't want anyone to tell him what to do. That is the impression I'm getting.

      100% was a budget issue, she was not ready. It does put her in a hard spot to have to stand up to someone like Alec Baldwin, but if she doesn’t have the leadership to do so, she shouldn’t take the job.

    The Prosecution isn’t doing herself any favors by being so snide & laughing. She’s an embarrassment to the legal system. So far the lack of professionalism during this entire ‘investigation’ has been horrible. The State has dropped the ball and in doing so it has become nothing more than a witch hunt.
    THE STATE IS NOT YOUR FRIEND--innocent or not
