Dear Celab, as a product designer being more and more invested into cinematography, I really appreciate your step into 3D printed custom accessories. I'm sure that you did the right research on it, but I just wanted to ask, which kind of material you are using to print these parts? especially as we're dealing with heat, there are some materials to rule out, for example PLA. ABS or even Nylon would be the engineering way to go but as I assume you are printing on an unenclosed prusa, ASA might be the best choice considering convenience to print and overall performance. From what I've tested (3D printing prototype enclosures for LED housings), the Prusament ASA is top notch in terms of precise diameter and build plate adhesion.
I’d be curious to see a build around the BS1H it has a lot of really nice professional outputs and features the main thing to work around imo is the ergonomics, since it’s such a small camera
Love this video! I shoot with my A7c since December 2021 and over time I rigged it out to push this little camera to its limits. Do you know if the A7cII 3D printed part also fits the A7c? Seems like the screen is the same place and they just changed some dials and the grip depth.
I'm SUPER interested to see this concept for the Fuji XH2S! I'd buy it in a second! Overall, I've been loving all of the camera foundry work you've been up to and can't wait to see what you have coming up!
I attempted to make one for my Fuji with the big top and side cheese-plates. I failed. The only thing keeping me from continuing with Fuji is the bad ergonomics. I know I'm not alone in saying I would buy this in HEARTBEAT if it was made for xt3 or xh2s. #fingerscrossed 😁
Hey guys, I CAN CONFIRM the cage fits the dimensions of the ZV-E1 pretty well! I just made some cut moderations to the Cineback and moved the screws a little in a few different locations to adjust to center the camera, and its perfect!
@@SimplestUsername i have solved overheating with my Zv e1 by just opening all the lids including the battery one. Tested it in my 24 degree celcius room without any wind. 4k 25fps and it Kept going till sd card went full, which was over 2 hours with it being decently warm
This is something I would like to build for my FX30. I'm constantly concerned about the flex in the audio handle but also don't want to lost its capability. I'd like the FX30 rig to be able to mount a wrap around top handle like you see on Arri Alexa cameras or even the long Wooden Camera top mount handle.
The closest I could think of was getting the k3m adapter or turn the handle into that, and get a full cage with the smallrig "helmet" handle. The problem is the awkward shape of the k3m.
love it. would be great to have that for the FX3 & fx30. i guess this would work then even without the fan. can you already tell when the print for the other sony cameras are coming out?
Love this idea of being able to turn a mirrorless camera into a box style camera. Would love to see this applied for the Lumix S5ii and/or other cameras
Great build! I’ve been toying with making something like this for my Lumix cams. A Kit like this for the S5ii would be killer! Wouldn’t even need the fan inside, but would be great for like a micro hdmi/sdi converter or timecode box inside instead.
hey caleb , great videos , what do you think about FX30 ? in being an APSc making that kind of difference for video compare to something like A7C mk1 or A7iv?
This is an excellent solution. Whilst I fully understand the capabilities and excellence of mirrorless cameras, I do not like the form factor and much prefer a video/cinema camera style body. Sony, having finally implemented the articulating flip-out screen (a few models back), have allowed for this kind of build and flexibility. The next technological step-forward is for mirrorless cameras to have ND filters built-in, although I suspect that this is still quite a way off in the future. Another advantage of this build is that it meets certain customers' expectations of a professional turning up with a 'proper camera'. I have been on many shoots where I have my FS7 and a colleague with the latest A7s and the customer thinking that the FS7 is superior, just because of size. In some ways, it is and in many ways it isn't but the customer doesn't want to hear a long explanation on this. I also suspect that this build also helps with stabilising the camera when using handheld and that is a feature that helps with picture quality!
That rig looks fantastic. I may be picking up the A7Cii. In the meantime, I am looking for a rig for my FX30. So, I've bookmarked your link to Camera Foundry for when they release their rig for the FX30.
I cant even think of a bad video you've release Caleb, they always go up in value, really amazing work, you are my inspiration so thank you for the work you make ! (I've been a fan and follower for over 9 years already, crazy...) that said, we need something similar with the FX30 to make it an FX36 🤣 lol sorry, I saw on Camerafoundry that it's coming soon so I'll be waiting !
I want to buy the CineBack for my A7C II but is out of stock now, just want to know when will be restock? Feb 26, 2024 this item has been removed from the website so what is going on?
Hi Caleb! Long time viewer and big fan. I had some friends recently mock me for talking about how great your stuff is and they said your work as a DOP is nowhere to be found. I really couldn't believe it, I can't find any either. Am I missing something?
Hello Pike, You should propose the build to Small Rig Dream Rig program, this way you will have a complete aluminum build and make some money of that really great work :)
Man, you're on a roll with these cool printed things... totally unique idea for the new A7CII. I just put together my rigs for the FX3 and A7IV. I'd love to see the most compact builds you'd make for those.
Looks very nice and tidy. You might wanna look for heat threaded inserts that you can melt into the 3d print. This could improve durability on those threads over time especially when reassembling the rig a couple times.
The CineBack is available now and more models on the way! camerafoundry.com/pages/cineback
Video guide for FX3/FX30 Please!
Can't wait, this is groundbreaking, thank you for creating this, glad i haven't bought a cage, I have a A7IV, please keeps us updated
Can this become available for the Fujifilm XH2s? I would pay SO MUCH
would like to see Sony 7s III version really soon :)
ZV-E1 please! Ill order in a heartbeat
Make something like this for sony fx3!
Please do🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Would love to see
I agree!
The ZVE1 would be an even better candidate, as it has the same image as the FX3 but a lesser heat management and no mounting points.
XH2 also
Such a cool concept! Would love to see this done with Canon cameras like the R6 MkII
This is the build I noticed in your Rode wireless pro video! My favourite build of yours ever!
Dude, you are crushing these. Holy cow.

Great work, Caleb! The only downside to me is blocking MI-hot shoe. I have XLR-adapter and use it daily
I’d be curious to see a build around the BS1H it has a lot of really nice professional outputs and features the main thing to work around imo is the ergonomics, since it’s such a small camera
Very keen for the a7siii cineback kit!
It's like mocking up a Ferrari-looking Toyota Corolla 😂
Incredible idea and video!!! Could you please make a video and rig for a Canon R5C and FX3? 😀
We need a similar build for ZV-E10 and ZV-E1 ( fullframe)
neeeeeeeeed a cineback for the FX3!!
Love this video!

Did you make a false color LUT for the Fx3?
Would this work with the Tilta full cage for this camera? The smallrig cage for this camera isn't out yet and has no ship date
Gained a subscriber bro
We need a similar build for FX3/FX30 with XLR inputs AND a stronger Handle. I really dig the screen solution
yes please!!!
And for Sony ZV-E10 🙃
Agreed. Owning the FX30, I could definitely see a similar setup working great.
300%!!!!
this right here. I want it too hahah @@thinkoholic9441
I'm always blown away by Caleb's ability to come up with interesting setups such as this one. Love these videos!

Neeeeeed!!!
Yeah I'm in too! Sign me up!

With the smallrig cage?
Which smallrig cage did u go with?
Have you tested overheating? If this build solves overhearing on the EV-Z1 it will be God tier.

you should build something like this for the fx3 / fx30. that side plate is awesome.
yes yes yes! I love the xlr handle but i wish theres a boxy design where the xlr inputs can be hidden
@@gwm-btdbattlesagar.ioandmo9988 …..you want to hide the xlr inputs?
Oh you mean put them in the metal block! Me too. I know the xlr-h1 is super flimsy, especially once you’ve attached a monitor to it.
@@colemowery exactly!
Oh, if the fx30 got this treatment!❤
thats exactly what i've been asking the previous video ... could you make one for the fx3 ??
its amazing.

Love this idea of being able to turn a mirrorless camera into a box style camera. Would love to see this applied for the Lumix S5ii and/or other cameras
Do this with a FX3, add an SDI Converter and ND Filters and you got a FX6
Love the rig! Would be super interested in buying one for the fx30/fx3, any plans for other camera models??
Like for the cineback for a LUMIX S5II / X
Another solid setup man! 🔥 Please do a similar setup for FX3/FX30 🙇🏻♂️
Has Sony fixed the monitor issue yet when recording 4k and hdmi. As big issue still when using HDMI for transmitter cant use flip out screen.
This is very very very clever, congrats! Any update on the Sony a7siii kit?

Second for a Panny S52/x rig
Can I build my Canon with that cheese baseplate? Can you share me the link to order those?
You're such a nerd, Caleb.
I love it. Please do one with the FX3
This is brilliant! Anxiously awaiting the parts for the FX30
Amazing! Would love a kit for the FX30 🙏🏼
hi, What PL Mount Adopter you are using with this?
If you don’t come up with a build for the a7iv we going to hunt you down Caleb!😂 THIS IS INCREDIBLE!

Would absolutely love this kind of setup for a xh2s!!
I second the notion for this build for the Fuji XH2s. Would also be obviously applicable to the Lumix S5ii and I know your soft spot for a Panasonic.
The HDMI port is a deal breaker
That rig looks fantastic. I may be picking up the A7Cii. In the meantime, I am looking for a rig for my FX30. So, I've bookmarked your link to Camera Foundry for when they release their rig for the FX30.

The A7CII may not be able to replace an FX6, but an FX3 built like this could replace one all day

Dude.. Loving it.. Love the camrea foundry too! Makes me want to make soemthing simular for my FX3 and FX3. love the box body ballaned by the battery.
Man!... Look at the number of likes in record time! You are the man! Waiting impatiently for fx30 mount, build and proudly carry around.

all I've ever wanted is that exact thing for the FX3. Game changer man, truly. Thanks for the video!
Was absolutely eyeing this off in your Rode Wireless Pro video. So keen for the A7S III version. Looks amazing!
Is CineBack for A7C II sold out?
I want to set up a perfect setting like your video.
If this is based on the A74 then it has a ton of vomit inducing rolling shutter. The A74 is a terrible camera. There are better Sony cameras.
I hope the fx30 is the next camera 😢 please man I love your creativity and innovation
Great video. Cant wait for that CineBack kit for the A7IV! Any idea on ETA?
You should do such a video with the Lumix S5/S5II(X) Series cameras
Any update about the new Smallrig Cage? This looks awesome, I can't wait to try it out!
this is exactly what i wanted for the fx30, please make one that works along side the top handle
Cool Build!
dear god that cineback makes me want to buy a camera i really don't even want lmao.. make one for the s5iiX and i'll buy it yesteday
This looks amazing, would you say its possible to make this build with the fx30 as well?
This is amazing Caleb! Really incredible. Would pay to get this kind of size and weight on the fx3/a7siii!
okay 30 seconds in and oh my god wtf is that cage on the back of the cam directly and is there one for a7iv
omg its 3d printed fuck i need a printer so bad thats so cool
FX30 next please, we need that...dont work on nothing else till that's done lol
Is it possible to do a similar rig like this but with an FX3/FX30
You'r effort in b roll is legend
Nice video! Would be great if you did something for the FX3 😁
Hurry up and make this for the ZV-E1!!!
Hey Caleb, would kill to see this setup made for a Canon R7. Any way to adapt the side plate to fit that with a top and bottom cheese?
greatest video rig setup i have seen, great work and thank you for sharing ! 😉
Awesome stuff! A zv e1 rig video would be awesome, especially if it can reduce the overhearing.
Loving the new background elements
Can't wait til you launch this for the FX3=
Can you do a project with the Sony ZV E1?
I would love to buy something like this for the fx30, with xlr closer to the body etc.
Please do one for A7IV! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Definitely do something like this for the fx30/fx3
Dude, i'd totally buy the a7iv version of this
Now I kind of have to buy a ZV-E1 and do that.
is there something like this for the FX30? (no fan needed)
can you make it for zve1?
I would love to see an fx30 version of this build.
Would this work for the original A7c ?
I see you've got your hands on the NiSi Athenas and the Laowa Ranger! Reviews coming soon?
That was an insane build and I would love to do the same for my Sony a7siii. Would love to see that as a build.
DO NOT OVER-TIGHTEN THESEE
We need a similar build for
FX30
