Hands down fabulous tire in the snow I have Maxxis razor Mt 33 On my 1984 4runner did incredibly well through blizzard conditions in Donner and Tahoe going downhill braking fast and not slipping. Really great control driving them through thick snow and hard ice. Had my fun doing brody's in 2' of snow and plowing through without bogging down through 4' of snow. I felt comfortable on the highway driving over a foot of hard packed snow on a steep hill doing about 55 to 60 at times in blizzard like conditions.

I've been running these for the past two years is Arizona. From daily driving to mud to rock crawling, they've been a fantastic tire choice for me. Great video, glad to see they've done well in a wide range of terrains.
After watching this video I decided to purchase a set of 4 for mine Military Humvee. I have to say these are the best mud tires I EVER purchase. They are Awesome! Thanks Dirt Lifestyle!!!
I'm getting ready to put on a set of 37-in on my 2005 F350 dually. How did they do on the highway? Do you feel like you should have gone with more of an all-terrain tire or you happy with what you got?
@@mr.dozer.7471 - Really happy with the tire. Very even tread wear, rides very well. Only thing I will change is tire size when it's time to replace. Gonna go down to 35's. I've had these RAZR MT's now for a year and a half. Had ko'2 previously, these MT's have been far better then expected. I run out here in the Mojave & Colorado Desert of California/AZ. Pure desert trails, flat, rocky, sandy, a little bit of mud. I will be buying again...

But they suck in 1 inch of slush or on ice. I noticed considerable more wheel spin at the start of a storm vs the end of the storm (on a 3rd ten T4R). Overall they are a good AT tire

I’ve had my maxis razr tires for about 30,000 miles and they still look new. After driving mostly country roads, logging roads, mud, snow and during hunting season and they perform very well. Don’t get me wrong they’re on my daily driving new truck so I’m not taking them anywhere like I seen in this video. But for what I use them for they’ve worked great, never gotten stuck.

Seeking the holy grail of Offroad tires that do well in every condition I sipped KM3s and run them on two vehicles and so far super impressed. Quieter than most other MTs and have done well on snow and ice aired down to 25-30 psi. IMO best so far. Not paid to say this either.
I really appreciate your straight forward no none sense approach. Seriously learned more about tires in this video then I have before. I'm hopeful to learn more. Thanks sincerely again. First hand experience is always the best.
I have a set of these on my Sand Rail, when I do trail rides. I live in Arizona, my experience is in deep sand the last thing you want is an aggressive tire you will sink to your axles quick unless your moving fast. Believe it or not a regular street will do well in the sand versus an aggressive tire.
I’ve been told that many off-road tires have changed their lug size within the pattern itself so that no two are the same size. It’s said that this minimizes the acoustics brought on by air and vibration as the tire rotates on the road. I guess this keeps the tire from resonating and producing a howl. IDK...
I'm gonna second anyone giving you a thumbs up. You're doing an excellent job on your videos. You've inspired a lot of what I want to build but with an XJ Cherokee. Definitely want to go 40's. I live in Idaho, so we got some nasty snow here and the mud is super heavy snot like clay. It's super easy to get stuck in the Caribou mountain and Bone area because of those reasons. You should look into Yokohama X-MT's. I've met a couple guys running them and they love them in all conditions so far. They drive here and all around Moab Utah too. They are very aggressive tires but surprisingly they aren't terrible on the pavement. You should give them a try. I'm going to go with a set of those in 40x13.50x17's
The K02 is in fact considered a snow tire. They have the triple peaks rating on the sidewall. The K02s I have on my Jeep have some big chunks taken out from rock tho. Not as durable as some but still I’ve never had a flat or tear in the sidewall. Tire size 315/75r16
You’re correct on the BFG KO2s being good in snow. I live in upstate NY, and run them on my Range Rover Classic. I do wish they had better mud performance, but as a year-round daily driver, I like them a lot for their versatility.
What you said in the start about who has better tires is so true , buddies try to beak my wild peaks but yet never ran them and only ran one all terrain tire before and don’t have a clue we always bicker each other lol but in the end we all have good tires
I run the creepy crawlers in 37 which looks to be the same tire. I liked them for durability but traction in the rocks is not great without beadlocks. They need to be aired down to about 5 psi to grip but man are they tough. Only time I cut one was a roll over in Moab that pulled the tire off the wheel then shoved the wheel through the sidewalk when the Jeep landed on it. I have peeled two steel.wheel apart on the rocks and not hurt the tires. I'd really like to see more reviews especially on tires
I ran a set of these in a 35 on my Ram 2500. I was very happy with their performance. I live in mtns and see alot of different terrain. They worked well for me!
It would be cool if you made some sort of graph/chart consisting of every tire you remember running and it's characteristics/rating in each type of terrain
Enjoyable review, thanks. I have the Big Horn Maxxis's on my almost everyday '87 F150. They work better in 4 inches or more snow then on plowed to the ice level. Road noise is lower than I expected on clear roads, or my hearing is worse than I thought lol.
i had a set of them on my truck for a while, only managed to break them loose on sheet ice unless i really tried to break free, liked them more than the km2's that replaced them, but hard to turn down a good deal for how i use them
I have those exact tires, size and all, and I'm happy to hear they perform well in the mud and rocks and sand. Currently in Hawaii and headed back to Florida in a month so I'll be playing in all that stuff. Haven't had an opportunity to try mine out yet because 1 ton LS tj problems 🤣
Good review. I'm running maxxis creepy crawlers and I would rate them similar with maybe 4.5 on rocks. However they rip pieces off lugs on real trails so that makes em less durable.
Thanks. I have been looking at tires for weeks now. I’m in Colorado and you have convinced me to go with my current number 2 choice, the pro comp mt2. 👍
I had some BFG that looked pretty close to those. Don't remember the model, but I lived near Buffalo NY and they were great in Snow. BTW, love the channel. Glad I found it.
I have 6 RAZR MTS on a chase bypass rack setup raptor. Deavers, traction bars, long travel.. etc.. Ran a lot of sand in CA and I ran TX beaches. I'd give them a 4 in the sand for sure. They were stupidly good in the sand even at street pressure. I pulled out a few bro-dozers on the 20s sunk in sand. I have bead locks so airing down on the beach I went over spots UTVs were stuck. Im originally from MN and the RAZR does not have much for sipes. Not so good on ice. Snow depends on what kind fell and how deep. Air down and throttled in deep snow is different than dirt or paved roads and they are better than full MTs. Duratrac's are probably the best for snow/mud compromise. They will beat the ATs on that rover, I ran them on an 80 series locked Toyota cruiser.
Great review, I am glad to hear someone as experienced as you share my opinion of these tires. I run 37's on a 2020 Gladiator and they absolutely rock! My opinion differs slightly on your snow rating as I have had them up the mountain trails on multiple occasions this year and they performed very well, not a 4, but definitely a 3-3.5.. keep rockin the channel, your doing a fantastic job!
I would LOVE if you reviewed and or compared these to the Nito Grapplers. This is a common question at the shop. I have ran the Razr's for quite some time and have thoroughly enjoyed them, although I would like to have someone else's input that actually wheels. Thank you so much, please do not stop pushing content, you are BY FAR the best channel on the internet and would hope that one day can make content like you. Keep up the great work.
Maxxis tires are great I had them on my FJ in a 6ply which was awesome for a light 4x4 daily driver cause the everyday ride quality was there and they were quite and then love them so much i put them on my 97 f350 powerstroke 4x4 4dr LB in a 10ply and they towed well and got me in and out of sticking situations. Most under rated and overlooked tire. I have a jk now and will be putting these on it and recommending them to my jeep group. But you know they will just think I'm a cheap ass cause they think price and name are where it's at lol
After running them in a size 40” for about 6 months, on and off-road I wasn’t impressed especially with the costs. I had one sidewall catch a pin hole leak on a small rock, and another sidewall chunk down to the threads after rubbing a rock that other tires I’ve had would have been fine. I’ve had awesome luck with toyo MTs and now I’m trying the cooper stt pros in a 40 and I’m happy with them so far. Just did hammers in JV and a few other local SoCal trails and they’ve preformed well
Jake Baker yep, just another cheap tire. I will never understand why guys buy tires like Patagonia and patriot. Yes they are cheap...but they are cheap for a reason. They perform 50% as good as Nitto trail grapplers in the mud. Lucky to get 20k out of a set of patriot or Patagonia. Just spend the money on a proven tire.
@@jeromygreiner2465 it depends on terrain, i used bfg with 15 psi of rocks and sidewalls and lugs chunks still fell apart and the being said im easy on the throttle so i almost couldn't sell them for their look of abuse Maxxis bighorn were great and now trying Patagonia which im liking their grip and highway quietness for a m/t
Maxxis Bighorn was the best tire I ever ran, until I got the Razr. These are seriously awesome. They work great on the hwy, even with snow. They are exceptional off road. Get the E rated 10 ply version to really save yourself from sharp rocks on the sidewall.
I went 1000 miles after slicing open the sidewall of my Bighorns. Never once got a flat after numerous adventure in Death Valley. Never put on snow chains once.
Almost went with the Rzrs but ended up going with Cooper Stt pros. So far its been my favorite tire. They seem to be a great all around tire. My old bias ply TSLs were a one trick pony! The Rover will do awesome in the snow. Just make sure your traction control is working!
As a Rover owner, the main issue I find with Rovers in deep snow (basically bottomless) is the weight and small tires mean they don't float very well and you end up high-centered. As for those Cooper STT Pros - I've had a set on my LR3 (275-70-18) for about 3 years now. Performance has been pretty good in mud, rocks, and snow. Haven't spent much time in sand. And while they still have tread depth they chunk worse than anything I've had. Literally entire tread blocks have torn off down to the cords. Also have several bad gashes in the sidewalls though they are still holding air. They are a 'big' tire for their size, so I've decided to go up to a 285/70-18 Yokohama G003 next. It's actually only .1" wider, but .6" taller which should be 33.9". Will be interesting to see how they compare.
@@donhappel9928 Interesting about your experience with the coopers. I had that same experience with my TSLs. Mostly because of how big the lugs are. Ive had the Stt pros for about a year now and have had zero chunking and zero cuts! Im running a 35x12.50 on the Rover so it doesnt really sink too bad in snow( Nc doesnt get that much anyway) Same in the sand. Had zero issues while out on the outerbanks for a week.
@@krover01 I'm running them on a very heavy fully built LR3 and they've seen their share of rock crawling (Rubicon) as well as more typical moderate wheeling. I do run them at 50 psi on the street to help with heat and mileage. I've actually liked their performance over-all, but the chunking got out of hand by around 25K miles. Now on my D1 I run 37x12.50x15 PitBulls and LOVE them - great in the rocks, snow, mud, whatever I've thrown at them. But not exactly the tire for the typical Rover owner. :)
Thanks for the video been looking to get them for my pathfinder as I drive up and down a pole line in the mountains for hunting and it's always mud and rock so I think I'll give them a try!
I just got the maxxis mt on my f-150. So far I like them. They eat up anything I throw at them but I haven’t run them in snow yet. They make a lot more noise on the highway than I thought they would. Way more than my previous ko 2’s. But my kos, in my opinion, were shit in the mud.
Honest review. I like how you did a sort of comparison from ko2 (what I have) vs these which I am cosidering getting. I haven't done much mud myself yet but soft sand, rocks, dirt, snow the KO2 have been fine thus far. Appreciate the info.
I have 39.5 iroks on my truck. Gotta agree they work pretty good but they didn't wear well and have been shaking the shit out of my truck. Going to put the treps on tomorrow probably.
When the KO2s wear out, you should try out Falken Wildpeak AT3Ws. They have been a tremendously great tire for my Jeep and they actually do exceptionally well in mud, surprisingly. I plan to run a Milestar Patagonia M/T next. Great video and keep up the great work!
Jeromy Greiner thank you for the input! I’ve been really interested to see what people have to say about them. I have seen a few videos on here on them and they have been raving about how good they are.
Dynapro atm... I took them in the mountains of montana with less than 2/32 tread during hunting season and forgot my chains.. got a little nervous but got home. Multiple stories from this winter, making it to the fiancees cabin in late November high drifts, But I'll save the details. Would definitely get them again if money wasnt an issue which is why in here haha. Idk if it's a testament to the tires, the truck (99 powerstroke, 6 speed manual) or growing up in northern Michigan with a 2wd truck though. haha. But those tires have been nothing but beast mode for me (315/75/16)
Excellent review Nate. And you have the trail time to backup the ratings you provided. Nothing like seeing a 5 star rating on a product with "I haven't used it yet, but it arrived on time, as promised. " SMH Some of those shots of your rig looked like a RC car. Very cool.
Thanks man! Folks have been asking my opinion on these for awhile but I think you need to "season" the tires a little bit before you can give an educated opinion. Thanks for watching!
Solid info Nate, thanks and Merry Christmas. Snow wheeling is challenging but enjoyable if you plan on getting stuck and just deal with it. I really enjoy the fabrication content the most probably because I'm not a fabricator and like watching guy's make it, not just buy it.
I like Goodyear mtrs I'm on my 3rd set they do well on my Cherokee. And on my cj5. Ive had 1 set of bfg ko1 and 2 sets of ko2's they wear like iron I gave my set of ko1s to a friend they are 33s and he's still driving on them we did some math and they have over 150k miles on them. I like ko2's for a daily driver I even put some on a 2wd Silverado then some on my wife's Cherokee. I've had super swamper tsl tires and I liked those they actually lasted a while. I've also had super swamper tsl boggers and tsl thornbirds I hated the thorbird tires and the boggers were pretty good but I've been sticking with the mud terrains. The cooper stt mud terrains are also good tires but I haven't tried the stt pro just the one before that came out. The cooper does great in snow a little better than the mtr's I think.
I have the same tires in a 37. I have about 15 k on them and drove from Tampa to Moab in June. Like you I have had my fare share of tires. I like these better than the KM2. Mostly on the road. The KM2 was a great all around but I think the Maxxis edges them out. Next set of tires KM3
We have RAZRs on our jeep. 33" tires. IMO they are great in the snow FOR AN MT. They are not as good as an AT but I'm not sure there in an MT that will out perform them in snow.
Getting a pair of these in a 35 13.50 17r (until I beef up my front axle and go to a 38) for my 2014 Wrangler jk. Was gonna get the Mickey Thompson Baja Pro XS, but I would have had to wait for 12 weeks. I have dry rot on my Nitto Mud Grapplers and have to replace them immediately. Considering I have to go over the pass from Seattle to my hometown of Wenatchee, a mud tire that's good on the freeway is (reluctantly) a better idea than the Baja's. These seem like a good compromise. Thanks for the info. I'll be subscribing!
I will challenge them with my BFG KM3s any day any where mud, rocks, wear, durability, trails, even price I paid $1830.00 for 4- 39/13.50x17s on myTJ my weak link may be snow but I live in north Georgia and we don't get much snow Great honest review but we will wait for your KO3 review and see if you agree.....smile
Thanks for the review Nate. I gotta say when you are talking and the wheel/tire is in front of you it really puts how large the tire is into perspective. Either there's a little kid talking or they are some Hugh Jass tires! Or both, haha.
Lol these are monsters. When a 40 is mounted to a rig it definitely looks smaller. You should have seen me trying to toss this tire on the table! Thanks for watching 👍
Gday Nate. So im looking to buy some black donuts and these are going to be as an offroad only set. At most to the tracks. About 30 minute drive. Now where i am theres no such thing as snow. Well one day out of 36 years theres been snow. But otherwise doesnt exist. Our terrain down here is kinda mostly like the stuff you did on trail to sema with a couple of bits of washington here and there. I was thinking about treps, but the other options are the rzr or km3. Australia has sweet FA selection when it comes to rubber. We just arent a big enough market.
The razr and Km3 are both really good in my experience. But if you want ultimate traction the sticky compound trepador is just about the best you can buy. Unfortunately these wear out much faster. Good luck on your tire hunt!.👍
I do like knowing what works for other people so more reviews would be nice. Also, I just recently found your channel and I quite like it especially the Dana 30 build (I’m an XJ driver).
Nice vid, though I wish you could have compared them to other mud terrains that fit this same category. At least in Colorado snow where its usually powder, these perform better than my old KO2's for sure cause they just dig. These sidewalls even in a load range C seem indestructible whereas my KO2's kept popping.

I certainly like you doing reviews. It helps us guys just getting into off roading ideas of what to (or not to) buy... which is appreciated.
Good man! I'll be happy to do more videos like this 👊
What you said in the start about who has better tires is so true , buddies try to beak my wild peaks but yet never ran them and only ran one all terrain tire before and don’t have a clue we always bicker each other lol but in the end we all have good tires
Im running 37”s on my yj. I freaking love them in the rocks.
What front axle you running just curious I got a yj too
I run the creepy crawlers in 37 which looks to be the same tire.
I air these down to 5psi for the same reasons. I'll definitely start planing more reviews. Thanks for watching 👊
I ran a set of these in a 35 on my Ram 2500. I was very happy with their performance. I live in mtns and see alot of different terrain. They worked well for me!
My Bighorns are kickin ass down here in Costa Rica
Love my MAXXIS
Bighorns are 3rd favorite tires we used in borneo rainforest after trepadors and extreme trekker. Bighorns are really good in mud.
Road noise is lower than I expected on clear roads, or my hearing is worse than I thought lol.
i had a set of them on my truck for a while, only managed to break them loose on sheet ice unless i really tried to break free, liked them more than the km2's that replaced them, but hard to turn down a good deal for how i use them
That word takes me back to VHS where everyone had it “eject” button
Me too man!
Hope they do good in ocean
Good review. I'm running maxxis creepy crawlers and I would rate them similar with maybe 4.5 on rocks. However they rip pieces off lugs on real trails so that makes em less durable.
I bet it is! I use em for all my mountain bikes
Studded Goodyear Duratracs are the best tire I’ve found for Canadian Winters/winter off-roading
We're talking about 40" tires
New swamper trxus mt are amazing ice and snow tires best I’ve ever ran in Mn winters
Thanks man! I'm glad you did too 👍
Run some Hercules Trail Diggers. They are BAD ASS! Mud, clay, snow as far as it's deep. Very good on the highways. Loved mine!
Awesome video. I'm between these and toyo mts. 37x13.50r17. Torn. Both look good. RZR is a D rate the toyo is an E.
Brandon Whorley go with Nitto trail grapplers. More aggressive, and 60k+ Miles.
Good price. Tread not aggressive enough.... i wish it was deeper and had more side lugs.
Second for Toyo MT's. Ran 38's and they were great tires in mud and snow
@@jeromygreiner2465 it depends on terrain, i used bfg with 15 psi of rocks and sidewalls and lugs chunks still fell apart and the being said im easy on the throttle so i almost couldn't sell them for their look of abuse
Maxxis bighorn were great and now trying Patagonia which im liking their grip and highway quietness for a m/t
That shot at 6:55 should be on a poster.
Thanks man!
Just want to say, great content. Glad you left BleepinJeep. Your stuff is good man. Keep it up
Thanks!
Thanks for this review.
Sound like the Razr is a good all around wheeling tire for Washingtons mud rock trails
Running these on my 2500 gmc in a 37" they do pretty awesome.
I absolutely love the way your jeep looks 👌
Thank you!
I’ve been waiting for a good review on these tires, so thank you Nate for making the video
No prob! Thanks for watching!
Love the MT’s getting AT’s when I need new tires.
Honest review. I like how you did a sort of comparison from ko2 (what I have) vs these which I am cosidering getting. I haven't done much mud myself yet but soft sand, rocks, dirt, snow the KO2 have been fine thus far. Appreciate the info.
I'm glad you enjoyed the video 👍. Thank you for watching!
When the 20/21 winter is finished, perhaps a 1 year follow up on the 'snow' review
I have 39.5 iroks on my truck. Gotta agree they work pretty good but they didn't wear well and have been shaking the shit out of my truck. Going to put the treps on tomorrow probably.
Really like the honest reviews. Keep them coming!
Thanks! I think I'll start planning more of these
you should sell decals with your logo design it is just sick!!. Also your content it is fenomenal, really enjoying your videos so far.
Thank you! We are working on more stickers and swag
When the KO2s wear out, you should try out Falken Wildpeak AT3Ws. They have been a tremendously great tire for my Jeep and they actually do exceptionally well in mud, surprisingly. I plan to run a Milestar Patagonia M/T next. Great video and keep up the great work!
Michael Nord you will be lucky to get 20k out of a set of Patagonia’s. Plus they are not impressive in the mud compared to trail grapplers.
Jeromy Greiner thank you for the input! I’ve been really interested to see what people have to say about them. I have seen a few videos on here on them and they have been raving about how good they are.
I would love to see you find a good AT or MT tire that's good for a daily driver that goes off-road in all weather conditions.
" SMH
Some of those shots of your rig looked like a RC car. Very cool.
Thanks brother! Merry Christmas!
Love these tires have a set in 35 they absolutely do sling out the mud and there good in snow to I think
Great info Nate. Loving the editing too! I’m excited to see how my Milestars do this long wet winter in the PNW! ❤️🐞
Thanks! I'm sure you will be very happy with them. I know a few people now that have great things to say🤘
Yep, I love my maxxis rzrs on my jeep!
I will challenge them with my BFG KM3s any day any where mud, rocks, wear, durability, trails, even price I paid $1830.00 for 4- 39/13.50x17s on myTJ my weak link may be snow but I live in north Georgia and we don't get much snow
Great honest review but we will wait for your KO3 review and see if you agree.....smile
Also really digging your videos. You’ve officially sold me on a long arm kit for my TJ
Thanks man! Glad you enjoying the videos!
We need some more tire reviews. And what your best pick is now after some time!
Ko2s are perfect for the every day rig... they aren't "great" for anything but they are "good" for everything
I don't know. But I sure love my Amp MT's. Ride and look great. Do well off road. And are reasonably priced.
While the BFG is a very popular 4 season tire, I can attest that they are not ideal in the heavy snow of the Northeast.
Chris Adams BFG al terrains absolutely SUCK in heavy snow. Won’t ever buy them again.
Thanks for the feedback. Really appreciate that. Made my decision much easier.
I do like knowing what works for other people so more reviews would be nice. Also, I just recently found your channel and I quite like it especially the Dana 30 build (I’m an XJ driver).
Thanks man! Glad you found the channel 🤘
First video of yours that I've watched and I agree 100% with everything you said.
Always love seeing the videos and the progress of your Jeep love the build
Nice vid, though I wish you could have compared them to other mud terrains that fit this same category. At least in Colorado snow where its usually powder, these perform better than my old KO2's for sure cause they just dig. These sidewalls even in a load range C seem indestructible whereas my KO2's kept popping.
I wish I could too! I don't have the Capitol to compare multiple tires unfortunately. I'm doing what I can with what I have available 👍
