I just bought a used 2018 Kia soul Yesterday LOVE IT! 35K miles for 14980. I bought extended warranty 75K miles or 6 yr not a plus but almost identical to yours. Thank you for sharing the drive modes.
remember there is a engine recall on the 2.0 liter engine , have it checked out. and always keep the oil changed and up to level and you wont have problems, mine blew up (future videos on site) at 61K due to oil problems. warranty will cover you till 150K from Kia directly.
@@ChrisEdwardsRestoration thank you so much for the advice. I put my VIN number in at Kia dealership web page and it said no recall but I will call to make sure. I think I have less than 2.0
I have a 2018 Soul+ and it has been awesome - I get 34 mpg at 75 mph and it is quiet and solid feeling with good handling and braking. Apple car play and backup camera and fog lamps round out very useful functions I use everyday - and to top it off it’s just fun to drive.
I like this guy. He thinks like I do. Probably the best auto review I've ever seen (and I watch a lot of them since I've been thinking of buying a new car for the last four years). He starts the drive in a GRAVEYARD, lol! That's classic. I would like it if I could get my Garmin to display on the console, but I doubt if that would work on any car. I think the Plus is the best choice. The Exclaim has the awful and poorly reviewed DCT which would drive me nuts over time. One thing I don't like is how high the car sits. I would prefer something low like the Miata.
well considering its right next to my house. its the closest non populated road. i love this car. 1 year review coming up in a month or so. (as soon as the death lock polar vortex leaves)
I really enjoyed your review on this 2018 Kia Soul Plus thanks for showing and telling us everything about This Awesome Car And thanks for sharing this Video 👍🏽
Awesome review. I've been looking at getting a soul. You explained everything a person would want to know. Thanks for the extra tip on the undercoat. That seems like a nice plus. Kia seems to have made a great little car.
man ill tell you what, i now have 14K on that little booger, i love it just as much as day 1, it has been outstanding. go for the plus or Exclaim (!) model, the tech package makes it. regardless of trim, it is a great little car.
Nice review! I just got a Titanium Gray 2018 Soul ! (Exclaim) model a couple weeks ago with the Tech Package. I'm not sure what drew me to this car, but I like it. It's different and kinda fun to drive.
not at all, it usually goes into 6th around 40mph cruising, sometimes thats a little too soon, if you put it in sport mode it will go into 6th at 60-65, i just leave it in normal 80% of the time, its been great. , if you stomp on it it will downshift of course. but normal depression to hold 70-80 doesn't knock it out of gear, its the lower speeds that make it shift more, Highway has been great, I even got 36.1mpg in 6th at 70mph for 52 miles!. not a peep of noise, handles and tracks awesome. the steering is so easy a mouse could move the thing. wind doesn't blow it all over the place, Being a box, i assumed i would blow all over the place, not the case at all.
Kevin Addington Just got mine a couple weeks ago, have wanted one for a long time. I have the same Soul + package, same color and wheels. Never thought to plug my phone into the USB port. Had an Optima with the base stereo, so it didn’t have Apple car play, now I’m going to see how it works with my phone. Really like the car, it doesn’t have the power or gas mileage (38 mpg with an 18 gal tank)my Optima had, but I’m happy with it. Fun to drive and it handles really well for its size and shape. Only hit 28mpg once, normally only 27mpg, all interstate driving. If you have driven on 81, you know how it goes with traffic.
If you also put a usb drive in the usb port w some Music on it you can also copy those files to internal storage to listen without a usb or phone plugged in. Its very Cool and has like 32gb of internal storage!
I noticed that. I have been playing around with it trying to figure out how it all works. I’ve been watching a lot of RUclips videos to see what’s new and updated. I tried to download the app to my phone, but their system is down and I am not even able to creat a new acct. when I was a kid, we had an am/fm radio and was happy with that. Cassette decks was the new technology for us. I have unlimited data on my phone, so it’s all I use, I can’t say when the last time was that I listened to a local radio station. The car is a lot of fun to drive and the grandkids like it.
I have had a 2018 Soul Plus for two months, and have been very pleased. I will add that I have never had a car that hugs the road like this one. If you buy one, remember to order mud flaps, because they cost extra.
After viewing this Chris Edwards video posted on RUclips last April (2018) I went to a local Kia dealer to buy a 2018 Soul+ and came away with a 2017 Soul+ with only 15 miles on it and with many more options for the same price as the 2018 Soul under consideration.
Let me ask ya this, for example in the middle of the summer heat and you pull into a parking lot like Walmart to eat your lunch in your car and you leave the engine running with the ac on, does it cool the inside good or does it not cool good while idling? I don't know about you but I eat alot in my car while I'm out that's why I'm asking about the ac. I live in Jacksonville sweat hog heaven Florida and in the summer the humidity is UNREAL. Anyway great review on your car and it's the best one done on the Kia Soul. Good luck with your Kia and take care bud. Thumbs up on your video, bye.
actually it gets too Cold,. i have to turn it up to like 67 or so , of Course the black interior heats up quick in the summer, when it was like 102 this summer in PA i had it cranked, cools in minutes . love it!
Seems like a good little car. Good reliability too as far as the research I've done shows. Seems like the MPG should be higher tho for what it is. Maybe the box shape contributes to higher drag and lower fuel economy. I can live with 30 tho. my current car gets just about the same.
well i have learned this, since driving it for about 8 months now , if you reset it on the highway and stay out of it in econo mode and don't floor it too much it gets around 34-36 steady, if you leave the mpg calculator alone it will always fall on the low side because its averaging the slow city and the highway, so on the highway i reset it and it stays about 34 range for my 52 mile commute. if i drive more aggressively it falls to 27-30, then stays there slowly climbing back to 30, until i reset it. the max range is always 360-375 on the full tank, even if it clicks full and then i continue to slowly fill it to the cap it won't go any further ,my average tank full is about 370 miles to empty, i have driven it with the fuel light on down to 13 miles, then got scared and filled it up. maybe i can get a gas can with a few gallons and test its actual limit on the calculations to see how accurate it actually is. but i still love it.
Looking at a Soul Si tomorrow- was waiting for 2020 model but have been told that Kia will not be stocking Souls in Australia ☹️ as they have just launched the Seltos. Have been doubting my decision to go for the Soul because of all the safety perks in new cars like AEB & Line assist etc - your video was very informative, thank you. Any feedback re which model I should consider would be welcomed. Although, price tag of Soul is in line with my budget. Are the extra safety features worth spending an extra 4-6 thousand?
the Exclaim or ! model has all those features, but its a few thousand more, 2020 is shit. has a CVT transmission , you want one with a real transmission, either manual, or REAL 6 speed auto, not a CVT. they are constantly slipping and burn out fast. !

Still going. Make sure you keep up on the oil level my engine blew up at 61k and i did oil changes every 3-4000 miles. Kia has a warranty for all 2.0 to 150k now. See your dealer for a new pcm program that detects these faults now
it can, but that is called the "primo lit" package, gives you all the autonomous braking and lane change stuff. but I didn't get that one, once you have owned a sunroof car you will never want to own another one when they get older, or a climate that sees any cold weather, they WILL leak eventually and its a never ending battle of leak/love/hate
