#Amigalife indeed Dr Chris! Just been going through a similar experience but by dismantling a working A4000 and trying to re-assemble with a different setup… Interesting video. Cheers 🍻
Happy Holidays, Doc! I hope you get a bit of time off. Because of my own mind-numbing adventures, I'm a bit OCD about pins and possible debris, so now I test the pins for continuity, both wanted and unwanted. One thing that my Amiga repair adventure has revealed is I need glasses. lol Best Regards
Taking a winter break from working on my ReAmiga 4000 and 4000tx boards. Bad solder joint somewhere on the board or cpu board. Many attempts at resoldering the kel connector and other points on the bfg 9060 I built. The ReAmiga 4000 did boot workbench until the many resoldering attempts.
i started building a minimig years ago took me months lol then it still didnt work gave up and then brought one done lol still in my draw one day ill find the bodge i done to bring it life lol.
@@stav2421 Everyone has opinions if you mean what are your options you can have it re-capped and repaired doesn’t work at all are you interested in fixing it email me some photos and it’s story
What was wrong with those two donor 4000 boards? I was under the impression that Dr. Chris could fix anything! What made those not fixable? I’m asking because I’m actively searching for one to buy for myself, and I like to do repairs, but I don’t want to buy one that isn’t fixable. So I can check any board I find to be sure the problem isn’t fatal. Another great video! Thanks! Merry Christmas🎄
internal layer issues. was a RMA from 1993, sat dead for 30 years, figured i would give it a go, forgot that it was a doa parts board. i have tons of those type dead boards i use for scavange parts, most all used up now
@ thanks! I’m trying to do all I can to make sure I don’t buy one that is not repairable. I know I should buy one that is 100% working, but I am a glutton for punishment and a sucker for a deal.lol
@ I’d gladly pay especially if you could point out where the problem is. I’ve never done the patreon thing but I’d sign up for that too. And of course I’d also pay shipping. Let me know if you can make it happen! I’m gonna go figure out how to do the patreon subscription thing when I get home from work anyway as this channel has been my textbook/teacher for quite a while!

Thanks Chris for protecting your brain with that fume extractor. If I could have used one of them back in 1987 and on, I would probably be smarter!
I'm starting my ReAmiga2000 from Floppy today! Enjoy your days off and get some chicken and dip!

Wow, that mediator tower case looks like cheap crap. It goes from rectangle to parallelogram every time you push the power button.
