My dad was a Baptist pastor for 12 years. I am a 20 year old college student, and converting Catholicism. I grew up baptist and am not becoming Catholic to make anybody mad or to rebel against my divorced parents, but because I went to a Catholic Church and I felt the Holy Spirit and decided that’s why I am becoming Catholic. Also when he says why have I not been home, I think that it’s important for him to remember that he was not homeless in his faith and he had that faith background, but something bigger was calling him kinda like me. Some convert Catholics make the best and strongest Catholics of the whole church
@@PInk77W1 So my parents are not very supportive of my decision to become Catholic, but they are also happy that I am at least in love with some sort of faith unlike my other siblings and them. Honestly neither of my parents go to church nor my siblings so I don’t really care what they think and don’t need a feel good religion, but want truth and the sacraments.

I reverted to traditional catholicism... what's the outcome of practicing the true faith? It has brought incredible graces to my marriage, spiritual progress and intimacy with Jesus, etc. He's the center of my life like never before. Regular confession helps strip sin away from my life like no therapist or self-help book could ever match. What blessings we have!

So beautifully said. This hits hard for me. I became very dismayed in my early 20’s with the church. Instead of staying and fighting, I let myself slip away. Now that I have gotten myself reacquainted with the church I have the same sense of familial belonging.

Interesting I too had the sense that I finally found *my* *Family* when I came into The Catholic Faith just a couple of years ago and that assurance has never left! I was a Protestant for 14 years before converting to Catholicism and I'm happier and more settled and stable in my Faith now than I have ever been before✝️✝️✝️❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏

Oh my gosh!!! Same here! Raised Baptist all my life and I was MEANT to be Catholic from the start! It all made so much sense and difference to me and my life. From my family’s deep routes in New Orleans, a very Catholic city, my lapsed Catholic grandfather, to even me saying I wanted to get married in a Catholic Church when I was a little girl and had no idea what that meant. Thanks be to God were all here now, and prayers for many more and our other family who haven’t converted
Amen! It really feels like that. I grew up Methodist and felt so lost, even exploring into new age and other religions as an adult. Becoming Catholic, I felt truly found by Christ and I like I was welcomed for once in my life!
I left Protestantism as well. Many of them claim to be one Church united in the Spirit, no matter what denomination. However, they have tons of contradictory doctrines. Some baptize infants. Others don't. Some will grant remarriage to the divorced. Others won't. Some believe in consubstantion. Others believe Communion is purely symbolic. Some worship by reading Scripture and taking Communion, others play rock music and babble in fake tongues that cannot be interpreted -- it's pure madness. No wonder Saint Paul in Galatians 5:20 compares making divisions in the body of Christ to murder, idolatry, and witchcraft. With things such as witchcraft you may only confuse yourself... when when you've divided into thousands of denominations, all claiming to be one, yet holding contradictory doctrine you confuse the whole world.
Nothing you listed has to do with changing the message of Salvation or the Trinity, so not sure why these things are cited as evidence. And considering the first schism was between Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox, doesn't that make us all guilty? I converted at age 50 to Catholicism. Was baptized Presbyterian and confirmed in the Episcopal Church. But felt the leading of the Holy Spirit which I could resist no more. The leading was into the Catholic Church. Began as a teenager in Catholic school. In college I went to hear Pope John Paul II speak in Philadelphia in 1979 during his visit to the US. I never heard anyone talk about God like that in my life. Many years later, after 17 years of being a caregiver to m y elderly parents and grandmother, I made the commitment to start RCIA classes. Now, I have the "peace of God, that passes all understanding."
"God is not going to waste the time that you've been Protestant". This hits home for me as I am currently on a journey in discovering all the beautiful truths of the Catholic Church that had been misrepresented or maligned, growing up in the Protestant faith. It really can feel like I've wasted my time but I pray that God uses the perspective I've gained from that time for His glory, as a part of my witness and testimony.
Oke, I have a question for all the Catholics out here: in my country the Netherlands catholics barely go to church, meanwhile the protestants go sometimes even multiple times on Sundays. Why aren't catholics in certain regions not more involved in their church? (And look at it as mere part of the culture)

I'm turning towards the warming incentives of a much more spiritual, prayerful nature so I can triumph over some toxic, combative feelings of religious elitism and unruly legalism within my heart and spirit and body regarding my Catholic formation phase right now. This is one of the lights along the way towards an all-embracing conversion to the Faith I already confess and proclaim. Prayers for those struggling with these demons bullying and threatening to destroy our theological virtues! They can't drain what is infused and only sap energy better spent moving into the clear
Also the Catholic Church recognizes saints of every color, nationality and men and women who were faithful to God. When I go to my local Catholic Churches I see more racial diversity than any of the local Protestant churches.

I'm the other way around, grew up Catholic but converted to Baptist. No regrets, my church did enlighten me spiritually and logically about the Lord Jesus and the Bible. To God be the Glory!

Something I learned from B to C individuals is that they didn’t like what their preacher was preaching. Baptist ministers can decide what their service will be about. What they decide to focus on, and make their personal decisions on what should be picked at or shamed on. There isn’t really a written list on what readings he has to focus on. The Catholic Church however is more concrete in their readings. The reading in a Catholic Church on Sunday is the same reading in every Catholic Church. It may be in a different language, or be at a different hour depending on the time zone. But that reading is done everywhere. That’s why Catholic is Greek for “Universal” Because all masses will have that reading.

Similar experience for me after I returned home from the Iraq war and got married; grew up Protestant and during RCIA, I realized what parts of my faith were missing and have never felt closer to heaven on earth.

I am protestant, but I believe that some Baptist like myself and some Catholics will be in Heaven. I think its all about 1 fundamental concept. We need to have a relationship with God. And we need to accept God's free gift of salvation and let God be the Lord of our hearts. How you choose to worship, that doesn't matter, cause God wants his people to love and follow him. Honestly confession to someone else would be harder than what I do in prayer to God. I know Catholics believe in Baptism, but so do protestants. The issue Protestants have is Jesus told the thief on the cross with him, that today you will be with me in paradise. Protestants interpret that as Heaven. So if it is, and that man was never baptized then this is where the baptism argument fails.

If yall wanna pray, I find my "home." I follow Jesus and trust in him but am not Catholic and have a hard time with the idea. I’m a Christian. Do I think a single denomination gets everything perfect? No. However, I would never say/believe that any one denomination is perfect/correct and all the other denominations are false and are not saved people. I’m sure you could funds problems with everyone’s beliefs in any denomination. Some of the things that I see people posting on here about how a certain denomination beliefs this therefore is heresy/false doctrine or something, which is said about every denomination. The truth is, is that there are some things that are debatable as long as you believe the salvation message of Christ Jesus. The Bible doesn’t say, you must understand the correct understanding whether or not we are eating the literal flesh of Christ or not, or whether or not a baby must be baptized or it is a dedication, or you shouldn’t have statues in a church or not. Yes I do have my beliefs about these things, but I would never condemn anyone simply because they belong to a different Christian denomination then myself.

I love his explanation. I completely understand. I was reading Pauls conversion story the other day and thought that’s my story…well except without the blindness. 😂 I can hardly articulate it. But getting called to the RCC was as definitive and obvious and I was so struck…it was like…holy cow, I have to do this! I mean I have to. I have no choice. My dad was a Baptist pastor for 12 years. I am a 20 year old college student, and converting Catholicism. I grew up baptist and am not becoming Catholic to make anybody mad or to rebel against my divorced parents, but because I went to a Catholic Church and I felt the Holy Spirit and decided that’s why I am becoming Catholic. Also when he says why have I not been home, I think that it’s important for him to remember that he was not homeless in his faith and he had that faith background, but something bigger was calling him kinda like me. Some convert Catholics make the best and strongest Catholics of the whole church

I reverted to traditional catholicism... what's the outcome of practicing the true faith? It has brought incredible graces to my marriage, spiritual progress and intimacy with Jesus, etc. He's the center of my life like never before. Regular confession helps strip sin away from my life like no therapist or self-help book could ever match. What blessings we have!

So beautifully said. This hits hard for me. I became very dismayed in my early 20’s with the church. Instead of staying and fighting, I let myself slip away. Now that I have gotten myself reacquainted with the church I have the same sense of familial belonging.

Interesting I too had the sense that I finally found *my* *Family* when I came into The Catholic Faith just a couple of years ago and that assurance has never left! Oh my gosh!!! Same here! Raised Baptist all my life and I was MEANT to be Catholic from the start! It all made so much sense and difference to me and my life. From my family’s deep routes in New Orleans, a very Catholic city, my lapsed Catholic grandfather, to even me saying I wanted to get married in a Catholic Church when I was a little girl and had no idea what that meant. Amen! It really feels like that. I grew up Methodist and felt so lost, even exploring into new age and other religions as an adult. Becoming Catholic, I felt truly found by Christ and I like I was welcomed for once in my life!
I left Protestantism as well. Many of them claim to be one Church united in the Spirit, no matter what denomination. However, they have tons of contradictory doctrines. Some baptize infants. Others don't. Some will grant remarriage to the divorced. Others won't. Some believe in consubstantion. Others believe Communion is purely symbolic. Some worship by reading Scripture and taking Communion, others play rock music and babble in fake tongues that cannot be interpreted -- it's pure madness. No wonder Saint Paul in Galatians 5:20 compares making divisions in the body of Christ to murder, idolatry, and witchcraft. With things such as witchcraft you may only confuse yourself... when when you've divided into thousands of denominations, all claiming to be one, yet holding contradictory doctrine you confuse the whole world.

I converted at age 50 to Catholicism. Was baptized Presbyterian and confirmed in the Episcopal Church. But felt the leading of the Holy Spirit which I could resist no more. The leading was into the Catholic Church. Began as a teenager in Catholic school. In college I went to hear Pope John Paul II speak in Philadelphia in 1979 during his visit to the US. I never heard anyone talk about God like that in my life. Many years later, after 17 years of being a caregiver to m y elderly parents and grandmother, I made the commitment to start RCIA classes. Now, I have the "peace of God, that passes all understanding."

No religion or church, or man can do so but only in Jesus Christ. It is definitely my decision alone to be a Baptist.

Protestantism = schisms after schisms and the least common denominator "church". And you'll only follow scholars who are supposedly more conservative and agree with you, which is extremely arbitrary and ad hoc.

Something I learned from B to C individuals is that they didn’t like what their preacher was preaching. Baptist ministers can decide what their service will be about. What they decide to focus on, and make their personal decisions on what should be picked at or shamed on. There isn’t really a written list on what readings he has to focus on.
The Catholic Church however is more concrete in their readings. The reading in a Catholic Church on Sunday is the same reading in every Catholic Church. It may be in a different language, or be at a different hour depending on the time zone. But that reading is done everywhere. That’s why Catholic is Greek for “Universal” Because all masses will have that reading.

I am protestant, but I believe that some Baptist like myself and some Catholics will be in Heaven. I think its all about 1 fundamental concept. We need to have a relationship with God. And we need to accept God's free gift of salvation and let God be the Lord of our hearts.
How you choose to worship, that doesn't matter, cause God wants his people to love and follow him. Honestly confession to someone else would be harder than what I do in prayer to God.
I know Catholics believe in Baptism, but so do protestants. The issue Protestants have is Jesus told the thief on the cross with him, that today you will be with me in paradise. Protestants interpret that as Heaven. So if it is, and that man was never baptized then this is where the baptism argument fails.

i also left the baptist church to become catholic. 16 years i was raised baptist, told that catholic worship mary and told about confession and i thought "well why would anybody buy into that?"
then i started reading my Bible and i read mark 16:16. then 1 peter 3:21, then eventually i learned of james 5:16 and revelation 5:8. i could no longer deny it. i was called to join Christ's church.

I’m a Christian. Do I think a single denomination gets everything perfect? No. However, I would never say/believe that any one denomination is perfect/correct and all the other denominations are false and are not saved people. I’m sure you could funds problems with everyone’s beliefs in any denomination. Some of the things that I see people posting on here about how a certain denomination beliefs this therefore is heresy/false doctrine or something, which is said about every denomination. The truth is, is that there are some things that are debatable as long as you believe the salvation message of Christ Jesus. The Bible doesn’t say, you must understand the correct understanding whether or not we are eating the literal flesh of Christ or not, or whether or not a baby must be baptized or it is a dedication, or you shouldn’t have statues in a church or not. Yes I do have my beliefs about these things, but I would never condemn anyone simply because they belong to a different Christian denomination then myself.
Quite a long text full of pretty word just for you to straight ignore Christ when He founds His Apostolic Church in St Peter (Mtt 16:16-19), as well as the first 1500 of Christianity where Peter becomes the first pope, the Church compilates the Bible, etc... All while saying to be a christian (somehow)
I love his explanation. I completely understand. I was reading Pauls conversion story the other day and thought that’s my story…well except without the blindness. 😂 I can hardly articulate it. But getting called to the RCC was as definitive and obvious and I was so struck…it was like…holy cow, I have to do this! I mean I have to. I have no choice. I just have to…I will face death before saying no to this call. The calling was that strong. There is absolutely zero doubt still to this day. I was also Protestant so it’s nice to hear that that time won’t be wasted.
Oh no. Catholicism is not Christianity. Man made traditions that's not Biblical. That Catholic "church" was persecuting the true church. Pleased do not become an apostate. Don't turn away from believing that salvation is only found in Christ alone by faith alone through grace alone.

I feel like catholic church’s don’t preach with their heart. Feels more like a structured lecture. The Catholic Church has had me wanting more
I totally gave up on Christianity, I only believe in GOD. Based on my research, I discovered that there are too many contradictions in it to make it believable.
