    I’m so glad you did an update. I’m getting my prf in 2 months and I’m so excited. It’s good to be excited to spend $1K lol. I originally cancelled my appointment because I saw another random woman online say she said it wasn’t worth it but I realized she got PRP and I think that makes the world of a difference. PRF seems way more effective. Also she didn’t seem to really be a candidate like I am. I have those middle eastern kind of dark hollow eyes that I think are the exact fit for this whereas she had more herniated under bags which I think a reduction of fat is really the treatment.
    And girl, for your temples, look into sculptra. I did sculptra for my cheeks because of my hollows and because I have an intense line caused by a ligament on my face and it’s been 1 month and I’m already seeing results. But it’s a long game natural product too.

    Rachel, perfect timing. I'll have my second session tomorrow. The doctor combines fractional laser and PRF for my pores and i have to get 6 treatments in a row. Even with the numbing creme, PRF was very painful but i hate needles. i got swollen for a few days and some blue spots. but my super sensitive skin tolerated both treatments well. now I'm a bit anxious that i will relive it tomorrow again. the doctor says that after the second session, i should see some improvements on my face. that would be wonderful.
    Besides hydration and cooling: we should pause or skincare routine for a week and just use moisturizer and SPF. This helps to get our skin a break after the treatment.

    Rachel, let me say as someone who hates needles....AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! That said, you look fantastic! I doubt I'm going to do this because the aforementioned aversion to needles, but truly the before and after pics are somewhat dramatic results. Now.... stem cells from blood... I don't think there's that much in stem cells in there....aren't they mostly in placenta, embryo, and then bone marrow? I don't know. Google says so much different stuff about where, when, and quality of stem cells....and I don't feel like going to actual medical school. That said, the big skin care products...the ones I want to try contain grown factors and (plant) stem cells (and no, I have zero clue where on the plant or how they harvest those). It's a mere $200-$300 per ounce from what I can see. Does your aesthetician or dermatologist recommend or have any thoughts on any of those products? Have a great week Rachel! And take care of yourself.

    • @RundownwithRachel
      @RundownwithRachel  Год назад +3

      Haha this is definitely not for those who can’t do needles. Although the PRF has more growth factors than stem cells, so I’ve read, probably worth me looking into further. Those growth factor products are insanely expensive but they are incredible. I’ve tried one from Hydropeptide (which I bought from Nordstrom given their amazing return policy) and I love it. Even though I bought it - I struggle to use it daily given I don’t want to have to buy it again. Makes zero sense I know 🤣. I really do wonder how much better the medical grade skin care products are over ones that claim to do the same thing, but aren’t considered medical grade.

      I, like you, used to dread any process involving needles. I was afraid of vaccinations, blood lab work, etc. and would avoid them if I could. But one evening a bat flew into me out of nowhere. I was standing in my garden at dusk just minding my own business when it crashed into my neck and then immediately flew away. I think I had a small scratch...although I couldn't see anything, the area started itching later. Let me just say that when faced with a very good chance of death, that series of shots was a godsend, and I was very grateful that I could drive to a hospital and wait in the emergency room on 4 different days over the course of a couple of weeks to get the life-saving treatment. Coincidentally, this happened during the Covid days, so between that and the Covid vaccines, flu shots, and shingles shots (those are a doozy!) I am now officially not afraid of needles anymore, and it is SUCH A RELIEF! I very recently got my first botox injections and microneedling with PRF treatments. I will definitely be getting PRF injections under my eyes one day soon. We are so fortunate to be alive in this time and place!!

      Theoretically, it should "cure" the hollows because it is helping your skin to build more elastin/fibrin/collagen which is why your skin holds up and looks plumper and healthy in your youth. But there is still the river of aging which is constantly running in the opposite direction that we are trying to push back against. I also believe PRF is one of the best ways to retain a youthful look and feel for longer, but eventually we will all succumb to aging. Best of luck with your journey!

    I did more than 3. A month apart, all that. I had very hollow under eyes and the prf improved some. It's extremely painful and improves a little bit. I can't do fillers anymore because of an allergic reaction . But the prf doesn't fill like a filler.

    • @RundownwithRachel
      @RundownwithRachel  5 месяцев назад

      Def doesn’t last like a filler does that is for sure rather I see that it helps the quality of my skin. Recently tried PRF gel which is closer to the filler consistency and said to be more effective than traditional PRF yet still the results are far from what filler does. I just don’t like the long term consequences of filler and having to dissolve it. Now I’m exploring nutrition and seeing if that can influence any better. Might as well improve health along with looks if possible!

      Hey! I want to say when I first did it, I did notice a difference but full results are realized with 3. Another new option is PRF gel. Just be aware that it’s a long term play. It’s not like filler where it lasts for a long time. Instead really helps regenerate. There have been times where I bruised really bad and others where I didn’t at all! Avoid fish oil and things that can cause swelling leading up. But even doing that I’ve bruised badly at times. It’s been a toss up for me!

      @thisisaname4661 2 месяца назад

      It would definitely be much longer lasting but whether or not it's appropriate is another thing. I think it depends on the technique and if the issue is structural or not. If your under eye issues are due to a tear trough deformity removing fat can leave you with loose skin as there isn't enough support. Fat transposition is the better solution there. It's important to find a surgeon who can properly evaluate you in order to figure out what your specific needs are.
