    “A endless roll of Portra 400”. 🔥 A dream comes true. The problem I’ve with digital Leica is that they are so good I end up shooting less film + my Fujis are screaming in jealousy.

    I think your photos are worth a damn depending on the viewer. I love your book Ciudad de Palacios because I get to take a stroll through Mexico. Tribeca is an exotic place to me 'cos I don't live there. Don't undersell your own backyard (as we call it down here in Oz). I take your point about continuing to learn but from my POV you see just fine man.

    I think all Leica M digitals are similar in feel and operation to a Leica M film camera, M8 probably is more so due to the total lack of any digital distractions like video. I have an M TYP 240 and it is very similar in feel and operation to my M2. M3 or M6. Leica has managed to keep the essence of film photography in a digital body, when all others have gone mad with all sorts of unnecessary and frivolous features that 99% of us photographers don't need nor ever use. I think they design those cameras for the You Tube ' reviewers ' to have something to talk about, reviewers who are nothing but a freelance marketing act for Sony, Fuji, Canon etc etc.

    I noted "An endless roll of Portra 400", I see others noted that also.I have been thinking a lot about that camera, and it looks like a very good description when you already have a modern digital camera.

    I never knew of that syndrome. I’ve experienced it but never actually knew it was a thing. I live in Miami and it’s theirs no reason not to be inspired. But that helps me see that as a photographer, we all ebb and flow thru periods of inspiration

    • @MarcusLloyd
      @MarcusLloyd  2 года назад +1

      It’s so true bro, being in nyc I feel like I’m not allowed to be uninspired because so many other photographers would kill to photograph here but its just not the case sometimes. Oh and i made up the actual syndrome name lol it just felt right

    i felt that part at the end about continuing "to see". kinda sums up photography in general for me, like it's a medium to really internalise the world around you and see the beauty in your environment, its spiritual shit. great video man

    I understand why you are using the IR cut filter on the M8. Do you lose any light with this filter - e.g. a stop?

    • @MarcusLloyd
      @MarcusLloyd  2 года назад +1

      No loss of light at all. It def helps with more natural greens and blacks for sure

    Nice video, the M8 produces some real nice images. What happened with the voiceover it sounds a bit weird (like you're moving to and from the microphone) & the music at the end sounds really bad like it was recorded too low so it had to be boosted.

    • @MarcusLloyd
      @MarcusLloyd  3 года назад

      Oh no! I’m not sure why its sounding weird on your end. Didn’t have anything wrong when i exported it.

      @@MarcusLloyd Yeah, every now and then it sounds like you've taken a step back from the microphone for a second or two. I'm not getting it on any other videos I've been watching.
