Apologies for the radio silence.
I have not had much joy in shooting street photography until I found my love recently, the Leica M8.
Camera: Leica M8
Lens: Voigtlander Ultron 35mm f2 with a Leica I/R Cut filter

The M8 will be even great in 2050. A superb classic camera with excellent output.

Sorry, it won't! A superb classic camera indeed, but the output is rather poor.
Still a great camera today, I bought mine with 25,000 actuations this year. No issues with the sensor or shutter so far.
Yeah its a hell of a camera isnt it. So much simplicity yet such a pleasurable camera to shoot
after 3 years any issues with your m8?

@@MattJungJinChoi I've had mine since early 2019. I got a nearly 99% new version that had its shutter replaced.
I wish my shutter box lasts long. Bought mine around 1000 clicks

I used to own a silver M8 just like yours! But, when I got my M9 (Black Krawitz edition) I sold it. I miss the M8 - the sensor on it is stunning! I didn’t like the crop, and the issue with infra-red on the black color rendition, but both of them were easily compensated for. Thanks for your video. Enjoy your M8! I am still shooting my M9 with 35mm F2.5 or a Voigtlander 50mm f1.4.
Nice! I have betrayed the m8 recently and jumped onto a 262. I do miss the palette from the m8 but would rather shoot with a more modern machine without having to worry about the shutter :)
Hello, I just bought an M8 about a month ago with only 1838 photos taken. I paid $2100 Cdn for it, not too bad. I then bought a Voigtlander 35 1.4. I hope I can take some photos with it, right now maybe not. Thanks for the video, loved the photos! I hope you make more videos about your Leica M8. Stay safe, Rob.
zambam3 hello Rob, nice to meet you and welcome to the club. Very nice setup! We are shooting on the same focal length. I am currently trying to do a home portrait series during the lockdown. Trying to stay positive and creative :) will surely make more videos.

Try out the Voigtlander snapshot-skopar or even the Canon 25mm f3.5 for L39. You still have to adapt it to M-mount but they're nice wide lenses that go for a decent price and are close to a 35mm on the M8
Tom Cruz cheers Tom. I have been meaning to try out a 35mm focal length as well. Do you find that it needs to be 6 bit coded? (For vignetting and colour issues on the corners) or is it just a matter of slapping a m mount adapter on the 25mm color skopar? Thanks!
Great video, I have been on the fence for buying this camera for years.
I do recommend you buy it from Leica if you can. Mine came with a year warranty and already had to be sent back once ;)

That crop kills it for me.
I like having small lenses on it and the only option with a 35mm focal length was the voigtlander 25mm color skopar so no good :(

I got it for £300 ;) but only because the seller was my high-school friend. You could probably be offering around £400 for one in a good condition.

안녕하세요! 라이카를 떨구다니.. 상상만해도 가슴이 아프네요 ㅠㅠ 저도 전에 벽에 몇번 쿵 찍었는데 살짝만 부딫혀도 레인지파인더를 교정 받아야 하더라구요. 그래도 추천드립니다!
You need to back off the unnecessary music a little.
Sorry to say, but I recently bought an M8 second hand, and I think the image quality is rubbish, eg. compared to my Olympus Pen E-P3, Nikon D200, ... I don't trust this camera at all. I will sell it again and return to the film Leica's. Al least these are reliable.
I can't argue with that because the color images straight out of the camera are pretty washed out. But they do really come alive if you give it a little saturation and contrast though.
