Hello Tyler,Years ago my friends father gave me one of those 12 Hp Elgins ran great when I was in high school. I also had a 7.5 Elgin eggbeater style given to me also by another friends father. Great motors for the time nothing bad to say about them an Im a collector now. I think I have a few not sure Ill have to check in my collection. I enjoyed your video. I have a 59 Elgin 12 hp in good shape that my Dad purchased from Sears that I used in Raritan and Sandy Hook Bays in the 70s behind my Grandfather built skiff. I would like to get it going again. Can you provide any sources for an impeller, please? Thank you!
I’m curious what size boat are you using and what top speed did you reach? It ran great for sure! The rough waves and the wind can make it look faster sometimes.
My Dad had that same motor back in the mid 70s I remember it seemed to be a fast motor back in the day brings back memories good video

A Chrysler 9.9/15 hp impeller is readily available and will work.

@@johnmaxwell3302 it shouldn’t matter. West Bend / Chrysler used basically the same impeller housing for most of their small motors

It does about 20 mph on a 14 ft Richline aluminum boat
