the shot with the white shoes looked really cool almost like they were emitting light. my point and shoot is a Minolta Hi-Matic E a manual focus auto exposure camera. the series did have an autofocus model later on. mine was made in the 1970s sometime.

Congratulations my man! I have the Nikon L35 AF and personally it sounds like the better choice for me because I can set the ISO so that I can push and pull as I see fit and it also has a filter thread so I can use filters. Great point and shoot though none the less and nice video.

The first version of this, the L35AF is the best one. Get the ISO 1000 version to push your film. The later veraions had the DX coding nonsense. The lens is stellar on that 1st particular model. I have both the L35AF & AF3. Will sell them both soon, as I don't use them anymore really. Should be able to retire off of them...hahaha 😉
Congrats on the party Ribsy...looks like you got proper mangled, but look so happy man. To a great & happy life with your beautiful Missuz Ribsy! 👌🏻👍🏻

Ricoh had some similar cameras to the Nikon models you mentioned. I have the Ricoh AF-5. Unless you choose ISO from 25 to 1000. It also lets you use filters. I haven't used it yet and I wouldn't know how it compares to the Nikon cameras.

I had one of those. Took it to trade school back in 85-86. Gawd I love that camera. As long as I kept my fingers out of the way, never a bad shot. I'd love another, but the price tag now is ridiculous. Maybe someday I'll find an affordable one. Until then my EOS 33V has flash.
    Great video. Thanks.

I like to party but for many different medical reason I can no longer drink so my favorite little point and shoot is a Nikon 35Ti. A little pricey anymore but still a great little camera that does offer you some control. Now if only I could find a reasonably priced 28Ti I would be in heaven. Looked like a fun party and a great group of people. Congratulations on getting married too.

Don't know about the One Touch, but the previous generation, the aforementioned Nikon L35AF (and AD), are mostly metal inside. They might feel plasticky but they are very well build. Weirdly the part that usually fails is the self-timer knob, which is one of the plastic parts on those cameras. I'm currently rebuilding a Nikon L35AD (AF with a date back). That knob is a PITA to reassemble and glue back together, otherwise you press the shutter button and wait 10 seconds till you take a shot as the self times is always engaged. By the way the L35AF nickname was "pikaichi" (loosely translated as "one of the best") because of the exceptional lens in those. They are excellent cameras, so please, don't break them.

Congratulations on getting married!!! The best party camera's I've ever owned were the Olympus Mju II and Pentax Q10 (with the 01 Standard Prime). The Mju II over all produced fantastic results with just a hit of a button. The Pentax Q10 size wise is so dam compact its great to take out and shoot in clubs/bars and the Standard Prime is sharp, also the image quality looked a bit like film. Two camera's which will forever be in my top 10 all time favourites.

I have a Canon Z155 and it's probably my favorite point and shoot I've tried (sold a Olympus Stylus and Yashica t3 because I liked the Canon better). Slow lens, but it has a personal mode that will save settings, so you can keep AF at a center point and turn off flash. Plus it has basic over and under exposure comp. It doesn't look cool, but the AF is fast and accurate, the lens is reasonably sharp, and it has actually useful features in a dirt cheap camera. Congrats on being able to celebrate back in NYC!

Love my L35AF (version 1). It’s the best constructed, and has the best lens compared to all the later L35AF models. Also the original L35AF was only plastic on the exterior (besides the metal film door), but all the later models were plastic inside and out.

Point & shoots are great. I have several myself - mostly Minolta and Pentax zoom cameras. I have a few rolls of film shot on "new" point & shoots waiting to be developed - I just need to finish some more rolls before I mix my chemicals, because the shelf life of the mixed chemicals is quite short. And, I need a dedicated photography fridge before I mix my Cs41 powder chemicals from Cinestill (next time I will pick Tetenal). Anyway, it will be a while before I know the results of using some of my point & shoot cameras, so I don't have a favourite yet. But, from size, ergonomics and usability, the Minolta 70W Riva Zoom was great to shoot with (and the champagne silver colour is beautiful - once you get used to it).
My favourite point & shoot has to be my Polaroid 600 Impulse AF though. In my opinion, I have shot some of my best photos ever with that camera.

I've been trimming down my collection, the p&s cameras i kept were the Fuji Tiara and Konica Genbakantoku. In a situation like yours i reckon the Tiara would fare well... Unless i intended to get very drunk in which case the Genbakantoku is definitely the better choice 😂

I am after the nikon lf35 but the price has shot up a bit since I looked last. I'm happy with my yashica t3 though . I bought it off eBay about 7 years ago for £60 but now the price has gone through the roof for it , sellers commanding £250! Think it's because of the Carl Zeiss lens.
