I fell for the L35AF hype a few years ago. It probably does have an excellent lens. But, the automatic *flash* issue was a major hassle. Instead, i got a Minolta Himatic AF2. Similar form factor, equal lens, and flash can just be switched OFF. It also has manual winding, and with my slotted lens hood, it's like a little Leica. That said, i wish i still had either of the T2s or T3 i used to have.... Ugggh. Selling them was a regret each time, and now the prices are _innnnn-sane._
@@ikaros4203 Yeah, i had the Nikon, but couldn't deal with holding down the flash. Drove me batty. I have a slotted, Leica-type lens hood on my Minolta. I think it's screw-in, so it should take filters, too. Not sure about the lens formulation, but it's really good. I don't think i worry that much about the formula on a slow, 'wide angle' lens. There isn't that much bokeh, and the Minolta does do bokeh well anyway. You really should try it. The Nikon has the hype, but the Minolta is a more practical, better-designed camera.
Been shooting film with vintage rangefinders but got tired of using a separate light meter and manually focusing so now I’m going the AF point and shoot route. Inherited a clean Pentax PCAF35 but it doesn’t work. So I found a good deal on a PCAF35-M which is on its way. I heard that after you snap a photo and you keep holding the button down, it won’t motor advance the film until you let go. A handy feature for street shooting. Anyhow, cool video And I can’t wait to start shooting film on the streets again with the Pentax.
what's hilarious is that I find the nikon to have much sharper and better metering than contax haha idk why anyone would pay for that cam. I just tape the battery latch until I need to change it, and just hold the shutter while pushing the flash back down to stop the flash from firing.
Wow really cool to walk around in Philly with you ! I typed nikon L35AF just to see sample photos (might get one for 5 bucks) and turns out the camera is great (mainly because the photographer is, after all) and the photographs are even better. Nice discovery, I subscribed for sure.
Nice photography and fun to see the comparisons between these two cameras. Thank you. I have a Nikon (One Touch) L35AF2 and a One Touch 200, both take very good photos.
If you didn’t let us know which photos were which, I never would have been able to tell which camera they were taken with. The T2 looks beautiful, but that price ... Nice video!
When I was shooting under hostile conditions where I did not want my Leica M6 rangefinder with 35mm f/1.4 lens to get damaged, lost, or stolen, I used the Nikon L35AF with 35mm f/2.8 lens as a backup.
Hi! I recently got the contax t2 and I was wondering if you ever have trouble with L.T. Flashing for indoors and 500 for outdoors. My film speed is 400 so it's not too fast. I'm not sure why it would still blink and if it would affect the results? I use portra 400! I have the Nikon as well but I haven't had a problem with it. Thank you!!
These are great photos! I know you shoot them a while ago but I was wondering if you remember the ISO you used on the camera... was it 400 like the film or did you over exposed them?
📸Another great vid in the can🎥 👍. The images seemed a little more contrasty/punchy this time-was that a film stock thing or just my imagination? Always feeling your snaps 👍. Thank you 🙏📸
I really enjoy your style of presentation. Beautiful editing as well gives it a nice flow. Also appreciate you not wearing a face diaper. Keep up the nice work. EDIT: Oops you put on a face diaper at the end. Bummer.
Jesus holy fucking christ why would you even compare these two?! The Nikon is good enough but you are comparing a Subaru Impreza with a Lamborghini Huracan
all the photos turn out very good, perfect exposure, perfect focus, and the colors are superb.

i feel your pain. I feel the same way about selling off my hexar AF....
L35 you can hold down the flash, the minolta doesn't have the same old school Sonnar lens design, and can have a lens hood/filters too.

Got 2 a year ago at the thrift for a $5 spot...two points and shoots that I won't sell. Sharp and light, a great combo.
dude thats a win of all wins
So glad the algorithm brought me to this video. Your channel is great!
Glad you found the channel too brother
I was lucky to keep Nikon L35AD for 14 years when it was $10 in a thrift store because it is now worth a lot.
The 35AF is so clutch. Perfect camera for hanging with the homies
bruh so true
RIBSYYYYY!!!
I started watching your videos and can't stop! The T2 is a camera I would like to try someday!
bro i really appreciate that! The T2 is a treat to shoot with.

Very nice video man! Very informative. Keep up the great work!!
Appreciate it!
Did you shoot photo of this bike on the fence at 4:02?
Good video, I was looking for this comparison when I bought the L35af a month ago. I might pick up the Texas Leica next
haha isnt it always like that. Dude, grab it and be happy forever.

Dope video
I like the edit how the cuts were going to the beat
Thanks bro! My boy Daniel has really been killing it
what did u think about the photos after u got them back, love to hear what u think. I thought the colors and exposures all were so on point, crazy
I loved the images. I’m really sold on this point and shoot and I think it’s underrated
Nice photography and fun to see the comparisons between these two cameras. Thank you. I have a Nikon (One Touch) L35AF2 and a One Touch 200, both take very good photos.
I just love that there’s great point and shoots for a great price. No need to break the bank
If you didn’t let us know which photos were which, I never would have been able to tell which camera they were taken with. The T2 looks beautiful, but that price ... Nice video!
Exactly Jon! The hype around the T2 is so crazy

where can i get the nikon l35af camera from ? it’s so hard to find
oh word? check ebay, i saw a few on there.
Depop ebay
Watching right now from the Philippines!
Sick! Hope you enjoy bro
Great fun watching this, thanks for good content!
Glad you found the channel bro
I love this video! I saw that you used a Porta 400 on your Nikon L35AF, but did you leave the ISO dial at 200 for all the pictures? Tnx
Yea I always overexpose my film by at least one stop
Love love love 💖
katya rowny thanks for all the love
Love the variety of shots you guys captured! Keep it coming.
Pam Lloyd thanks mom ☺️

Yo! Had a blast exploring Philly on 35mm with you and Daniel. Looking forward to the next one!
Mark Asuncion can’t wait to do more of these bro
Great video man, subbed
Appreciate it!
glad you had a good time in the best city in the world! 😎
Ruff Prophet Productions plan on getting back out there to do another episode. We ran out of time on this one.
That's funny, they weren't in Tokyo. Hahaha.
I don’t know why, but this video breaks RUclips and makes my tv restart itself every time in the same spot

Alice Nguyen not so sure, my bud Mark owns the T2 but he didn’t mention any quirks like this.
Awesome man! I have the T2, but after seeing the results from the L35AF I might need to pick one up! Subscribed :)
Stuart M Photo haha! Yea it’s a really fun camera to bring around
Thanks 😊
These are great photos! I know you shoot them a while ago but I was wondering if you remember the ISO you used on the camera... was it 400 like the film or did you over exposed them?
What’s up Pablo? Yea I rated them at iso 200
@@MarcusLloyd thanks!
Sigma FP bringing back compact full frames. my perfect camera
Sir Sheed I need to check it out
@@MarcusLloyd fa sho, its a pocket size beast with 4k full frame raw video and velvia 50 like color presets
Wish my photos came out like this !
Sheeeesh🔥🔥
Soon enough
📸Another great vid in the can🎥 👍. The images seemed a little more contrasty/punchy this time-was that a film stock thing or just my imagination? Always feeling your snaps 👍. Thank you 🙏📸
yea much more contrasty this time. I let the lab do the scans since its 35mm. Usually i scan my own negatives for max control.
Great Content!
Siplings thank you
what kind of film do you use?
yasmin portra 400 in this video but I also like shooting with portra 800 and Ektar 100
Personally I like the quality of the Nikon better. The images seem sharper and look almost 3D.
same
hey! do u know where i can purchase film cameras? great review btw
くきしずか that’s hard to say because it’s reLly based on where you are but ebay is always a decent start.
Marcus Lloyd thank u for replying and thanks for the recommendation!
I actually think the Nikon looked better, could have been the film stock, lab or whatever but it definitely looked better to me.
Me too personally
Editing needs work/pulling back, starting to look HDR photos
yea i had these scanned by the lab. not totally my style but still cool tho
Marcus for sure has better composition. and did not spend $800.
The pictures that these cameras take is ridiculous! Personally i prefer the nikon’s pics but that maybe has to do with the film.
I really enjoy your style of presentation. Beautiful editing as well gives it a nice flow.
Also appreciate you not wearing a face diaper. Keep up the nice work.
EDIT: Oops you put on a face diaper at the end. Bummer.
I really appreciate that
Marcus, to solve the battery door issue, use my tip: ruclips.net/video/tyOShE6-AWA/видео.html
Hi Marcus, I am selling my Q2 if you are interested, I am NYC based figure I would rather sell it to you..
dude thats mad love. Im cool with my Q for now.
Jesus holy fucking christ why would you even compare these two?! The Nikon is good enough but you are comparing a Subaru Impreza with a Lamborghini Huracan
poor quality scans
