I really dig that look. The first thing I thought when seeing it from the back angle is how much I would like to see horizontal slats there. Something that would direct air out rather than contain it in there if you end up with a mesh of some kind. Then move the hood forward a bit, extend it to cover the gap and bring it back to factory panel gaps on the sides. You would end up with the hood further away from the windshield, but there is a cover panel under the hood that would not make it look weird. I doubt you would have to extend the hood even an inch to get to factory gaps when extending to the side, but I can't look at it directly. That would make it sit flush with that plastic panel. Naturally you would have to mess with the hood latch placement. Perhaps more trouble than it's worth, especially since that hood is aluminum. I am following this build. I follow another but I agree, those stick on fender flares just don't do it for me like the factory stock panels do. Can't wait to see what it ends up looking like!
Thanks for the input! Yeah I might do something with the rear vent area at some point. And initially I was going to fill the gaps, but it seems to match the overall look of the car and really grew on me.
It surely doesn't look bad, since that gap exists around the entirety of the hood! And on those rear vents: Look at the FK8 TypeR! I am in the process of editing a review on that car and it has that fender bulge, and the perfect vents! Something like that I suppose!
Dude I am not even mad at this, whatsoever! I actually scrolled through every comment and personally think the haters are pretty friggin hilarious! I’m thinking about a Focus RS swapped Fiesta SE but there’s a 2.5 inch difference in width. I kinda like the gapped out look, but it’s WAY more obvious in a light colored car rather than a darker one.
Thanks! Yeah it's def not for everyone but it totally matches the overall style of this car. I have since done the rear to match which helped complete the look.
Yea dude. Screw all those money hungry overpriced widebody bullshit kits, and fake plastic screws for flares. Creativity and originality points will always catch people’s eyes! We’ve all seen what $200,000 looks like on nearly every make and model car ever produced. This shit is inspirational, man. 💪🏼
I’m glad this channel came across this channel on my feed. Your build a 50x70 garage house in 5 mins video came on my feed and I subbed after that and the pulling your jeep out with a tree video. Amazing and unique content bro. Channel is def underrated
I love this build!!! One thing I love is most people when making an off-road car they basically do a sloppy job but you take the time to make it perfect 👌
I think I may use this as a temporary solution for figuring out the dimensions I will need for my suspension and wheel setup before I actually cut my genders for what I plan on doing.
This is actually a really efficient and nice way to do it because it's eau to fix that gapthis guy created on his fenders. So after you do what he did you just weld a one inch wide piece of metal(or however wide your spacers are on the fender mounts) naked sure it's the sale length as the top of your newly created fender gap n you have a perfect looking wider body. Instead of cutting a bunch of wierd pieces of pie shaped metal n having to make a bunch of measurements to make the fender look wider only to have it look ugly and be bulging out the side of your car, n is super obvious its not part of your carta design n was just plopped on to the side of your car. Instead you just cut two long strips of metal, one for each fender weld those to the top of the fender exactly where you see the huge gap on this guys car n your done. Awesome n looks like it cane wide from the factory n that's awesome
I’m gonna be honest. I don’t like it. But I absolutely love that you fully committed and it is a very professionally done job. 10/10. Keep up the good work.
Currently attempting to fab a wide body kit for my 95 240. And this is actually a great idea, glad I clicked on this video. I've got 4 extra fenders that came with it. Got it for $200 as a rolling chassis. If anyone has any ideas for doing the rear quarter panels that would be great.
Great idea and think I'll do the same but will get a bonnet (hood) from a scrap yard and weld two stripes of sheet metel either side of it to fill the gaps to the fendor
Looks good man, totally forgot that you could do that with any fenders, definitely will consider that if I need to widen out my aftermarket widebody fiberglass fenders even more. I too dont like the look of aftermarket universal fender, so your mustang looks great
Love this widebody! Why don't you connect the hood to the front fenders so no gap like funny car front ends pop off since your not running a front bumper anyway ;] love it! Keep up the great work and im already thinking to do this to the corvette haha
Yeah but I love using pre-mixed cans when only doing single panels, so much easier. I've had better success using them than using a traditional setup, As long as you enough clear on, it can be buffed very nicely.
@@Kordare haha yes that is true. I painted my one fender black on my tib. Because on a budget i was at the inlaws in the middle of nowere on a farm for a while and the fende was looking bad. Had no compressor there. Still driving with it lol.
Wow now that's just lazy ..Where is the craftsmanship at. You should never have gaps like that sorry..Nice car and good job on the spray paint..But really bro

Hmmmm I like that idea
“front quarter panel” its called a fender brochacho
It is also called the front quarter panel in professional and insurance terms.
@@hunterscrackbag it's actually a quarter panel, the fender is just arch over the wheel

Mannn i like the way that came out. Makes me wanna try it for my 300zx.
Do it!!
What did you do with that open space between the hood and fender? Did you widened the rear as well to Mach the front??
I left the gaps as is for now and I'm building the rear right now, check my recent videos!
Did you change the filter because Fram is a crap product or because you need to do what others think you should?
Well I've heard from many sources fram is crap, I only had it on temporarily to get the car running
Hey what spray can did you use for that gray, I have an 01 cavalier can definitely use a paint touch up
Automotivetouchup.com
What about using 1.25" rubber hose as a temp gap filler
The main question is how u gonna fit the front bumper with this fender fitment
I built a new tubular bumper, look at my channel banner or any newer videos
What was the spray paint you used for the panels?
It's from automotivetouchup.com
I have a way you could do it since you weld it would do what your wanting without the gaps. Its just an idea if your interested.
I've had some ideas to close the gaps but I actually started liking them the more I've done to the car
Love it man
Thank you!
Love these vids
thanks for your support!
Did you leave the plastic out when putting the fenders back on?
I think I may have but I do have the rear one in now to protect the wiring in the wheel well
Dude can I please do a similar project on my mustang I love that wide body look, I saw you on tik tok and I fell in love with it

At first i was like that is weird but then seeing it bolted up i was like oh that actually does not look that bad at all
Yeah I was really unsure on how it would turn out, it took me a few days to warm up to it but now I really like it. Thanks.
You should widen the hood so it sits flush up top. Think that would look better.
I was thinking the same thing.
Makes me think of a transformer as it begins to transform. But it does look good.
Haha yup I hear that all the time, thank you!
Were can I get the those headlights? I love your mustang bro!
Thanks a lot! They are hella rally 500 lights
Hi is this mod legal and can you pass inspection with this?
I think it should but every state has different laws
How wide was the gap between the fenders and the hood?
1.25" roughly
Bro, put some leds under the gaps to light up the gaps and it will loom sick.
Found you on tiktok
Thanks for coming out 🙌
Is door not touching with wide front fender?
Nope there's no issues with door clearance
Looks like the E30
respect
Did you use wheel spacers to have wider wheels?
I have small spacers but it's more important to get low offset wheels
What was the spray paint he used color and brand????
Satin silver metallic from automotivetouchup.com
What kind of welding machine do u use ?
I primarily use my miller diversion 180
Kordare thank you
how much boost ur running? rwhp? stock internals? bad as car
It made 512whp on 10 psi, but I normally run 7psi so it's probably closer to 450whp. And yup stock internals.
