Wow we live such different lives. I feel like ur out in the wild 😂. I’m just a city boy who likes chainsaws. Ur vids always help the day pass. Thank you.
Tinman, I ported a 372 Holzfforma just for fun and I’m impressed it runs fantastic and oils well! 32 bar and around 8 to 10 tanks of fuel. We will see what happens.
Thank you. I got 2 of them. OEM 288 xp s. The oil pump, crank seal combination was good to see. I'm much more competent after I watch you do something. Mine both run /oil/idle & I've only been able to p/u one 32" bar & chain 💵💵. The one at deer camp has a 28" bar & chain. Every time I run these saws I feel blessed to have such good/old saws & a guy like you to help me when there's an issue. Glad the family is good, gotta go.
I did a bit of research before getting airbags. Everyone who had them was glad. And, everyone who didn’t, wanted them. They really help a lot with versatility and load management.
had one a number of years ago. It was a hand me down saw from an uncle that ran the snot out of it. I ran it a few years and a guy asked if I'd part with it and offered a crazy price for it so it went. All in all it was a great firewood saw, very reliable saw.
Nice to see the pump replacement worked. Cut a load of pine today with my 272xp. All I can say is it's nice, cuts like a hot knife in butter. Can't wait until the rings are seated. I'm cutting 10 cords so it should seat itself. This video is perfect as my 272xp is not oiling enough either so I'm going to mimic your video to get mine oiling right. TC Mahalo Tinman 🤙🤙🤙
@@tinmanssaws Hey Tinman really appreciate your content. I ported a Stihl 031ave based solely on your videos and "how to's" Anyhow, what's this i hear about cutting the piston skirt on the 461s? Do you know anything about it?
Congrats on the baby buddy. That bottom end leakage is a recurring issue with that model, so make sure you keep a stock pile of patch kits. Lol happy for you guys, as someone who just went through it its fun seeing another good family get to enjoy a little one. Hope yall are getting some sleep and as always great content. P.S. I put the plastic cone on the inside of the crank seal first. That way it holds it for you while you line it up over the crank shaft.
I started a small logging company (I still log full time through my employer). I started logging with my old 046 with a 32 inch bar but needed a second saw. So I bought a farmertec g466 ind for the most part I’m happy with it. I use it for everything from falling timber to bucking and limbing logs at the landing. May be in my head but doesn’t run as smoothly as my stihl. I live in north Idaho about a hour from the Canadian border.
Sold out because all these saws NEED one :) I was prolly the OTHER bidder on the eBay oil pump. Thanx for the video and experience derived "tips". Have to admit they did a good job on those g288. Have 8 months on mine mostly heavy use. Including milling :) ( Think non contact inductance tachometer & 2600-2800rpm )
A sports car is fun, but don’t NOTHING get our love (real use) like our pickups. I swear that’s why we love them in North America, and me in Arkansas 😉
2001 Chevy with a 6.6 Duramax and Allison. Under 70K, but you have all the hubcaps! Tires will last the winter and part of next summer. Only issue is it has the touchiest throttle of any truck that I have ever driven. No cruze either……living in hills makes speed limits a real game! Have you done a G111 yet? Thinking about one, but need to get the #s to wake it up…..
i would be sealing up the top cover on your under ground water tank ............ we had a rat fall into our well .......the water tasted a bit off to say the least ......... it got in through a hole less than the size of a golf ball ........
sounds like pretty severe kickbacks, i run a 13" bar on my branching saw and if it kicked back like that before the chain brake went off id throw it in the trash, each to there own on the bar length thing
how is the blue spruce in your area? here in southwest Michigan they all have that needle cast disease. they wont even plant them anymore in our area its so bad
U know after u get that saw right u should run it as much as possible till it breaks. I mean it would be Awsome if u could get 5 or 10 years of use out of that.
jesh that trucks actually clean..you dont see these much in upstate ny anymore and when you do the rust has hit it hard unless it came from the south.must not use much if at all road salt up there?
Heres one for ya. Ever know of anyone modifying an echo 590/600/620 oil pump? Mine is.. decent.. but its still a little stingy for my taste. Seeing that '88 made me jealous.
@@tinmanssaws it definitely changed everything. Ur gonna be great brother just do right, br honest and Instill morals in that baby, and THEY ARE WAYS WATCHING! good deal happy for ya guys or u guy and ms tinman
I was looking at that washer the whole time! lol
Use a pop can to slide seal down
We love to watch and learn you do the building lol

I've been super happy with mine. They give a smooth ride and when you don't need them just deflate.

I've been staying away from those saw but kinda giving them a second look now !
I will admit they are a lot of fun.
Try heat shrink , put a light grease on the crank shrink the tubing down remove it now you have a seal installing tool!
Have you ever thought of rain water catchment during the nice weather

Great video. I've been thinking about getting one of these kits for a while. Be interested in your opinion
They are fun. I'll get another for surw
That saw I just ported, couldn’t figure out why it couldn’t tune. Yeah so the membrane was more crunchy than a new bag of chips😂
