    Excellent you did what I suggested. This track is much better than Monza to compare the cars. You can see the F2004 dominants on the fast sectors and how much the W11 caught up and even overtook in the corner sections.

    With modern slick tires, the F2004 as well as the F2002 in Ferrari events are faster than any modern F1, as well as some other F1s from 2002 and 2004 such as BMW, are so much faster that the FIA prohibits publishing time data when The cars are driven by factory drivers using maximum power! For example in Monza, where an F2002 recently ran there in tests with modern slicks and those who were present said it was more than 10 seconds faster than the track record! The same two years ago in the Netherlands, Motoya used a 2002 BMW with just 85% of power and was almost 5s faster than the best time on the track set by Verstapen!

    • @TheHabsification
      @TheHabsification 3 месяца назад

      No, because the W11 has a higher level of downforce. The V10 era cars had no where near the level of downforce the W11 has and the F1 cars got bigger during the turbo hybrid era for downforce purposes.

    • @goncaloferreira6863
      @goncaloferreira6863 3 месяца назад +1

      @@TheHabsification Actually, the V10s had way more downforce than they are given credit for. The grooved tires not only had, you know, grooves, but were also of much harder compounds than the current tires. If you gave them modern soft slicks, on a track like spa, with long straights and a few medium-high speed corners, I don't doubt that they would definitely challenge modern cars. They had much greater aerodynamic efficiency (as in the balance between drag and downforce). They might have had less downforce, but were WAY less draggy. Couple that with being much lighter and voilá. More so, I'm pretty sure that a 2007/8 car, with modern slicks and a V10 would absolutely SMOKE a modern car. Too bad they generated too much dirty air.
