You should do a discoloration challenge. Work with fragrance oils you know will discolor. Try to anticipate the color changes and build a soap around it!

When Katie laid the slab onto the multi-bar cutter, the soap loaf totally looked like a landscape with a dusk-type night sky. Very nice!
That was my thought, too. It looks like some kind of surreal landscape painting.
I thought i was the only one who thought there was a landscape-ish-ness to it! So glad i'm not! And some bits remind me of arizona rock formations?? I know that sounds weird, but they do!

I've seen tiktok vids of where people will use dice to decide their outfits, what they draw, etc. Maybr you could do something like that with a challenge soap? Ex: have all you colorants in one collum, embeds in another, etc. And roll the dice for each collum (d&d dice are often used so there's a lot more than 6 sides lol)

I'd love to see her make a soap by using a random color generator to make the color palette. She could do like 5 colors, Two or three for the bar, one or two for the frosting, and one for embeds!

When Katie said she had 34 colors but wanted to use an "even number" I questioned my math skills for longer than I'd like to admit
I still haven't been able to figure out the math and it's the end of the video, so don't feel too bad about questioning yourself.😂
I'm pretty sure Katie meant a round number and just mixed up the words

An even number is a number you can divide through 2 and get a "whole" number as a result. 34 divided by 2 is 17 so it's an even number.
She wanted a number to end in zero. Slot of ocd people are like that. I totally understood.
I'm watching how difficult this one was for you and still thinking "I want to see *all* the colors and in separate layers, like a colorful soap crepe cake"
Like she said during the greens she could’ve done mini batches to make that work and honestly I think it would’ve been a lot less stressful

How about making a soap based on the place/fantasy your mind drifts to? Like a "Happy Place" soap challenge.
It would prolly feel kinda wholesome to watch the creative process and seeing that "Happy Place" come to reality in a way.
Use embeds to create one of those "picture" soaps. Ya know where it looks like a boat on the water after you cut up the bars
It's lovely! The lighter colors almost look like clouds. Maybe you could do a blue and pink sky/sunset/clouds design someday. Oh a whole collection based on different colors of the sky!

It would have been if the order was correct. Rainbows start with red, not pink. That's why the mnemonic is Richard Of York Gave Battle In Vain, not Vain Richard Of York Gave Battle In. ROFL If she'd just put the pinks at the end where they belong....
Katie I would love to see you do separate multiple layers of all natural additives like 10 layers all different (ex. spirulina, tumeric, green tea, cranberry, etc) but like all of them in one soap. How do you like that for a challenge? Are you up for it? 🤪👍

I totally put some turmeric In my melt and pour soap and it totally puts off the yellow orange color onto my hands but all rinses off

I think a fun challenge would be to do a scent roulette like someone else makes 6 batches that all look the same with different scents and you have to guess the blend/oil and maybe sell it as a part of a collection?

I would love to see this 30 colors again but with single layers per color, like how you did that bottom color. That way it ends up like a rainbow crepe cake or something!

I think it’d be fun if you went around the office asking people to write down one item or favorite thing and then pick one of from a hat randomly and make a soap themed after whatever gets picked

yes!! like a teaspoon or quarter teaspoon for each color, mix them all in one large container, then combine the Franken-pigment with the soap batter !!!

Challenge ideas: a soap with all of your least favourite colors, 10 or however many different types of glitters soap, 15 minute speed soap making (not including preping materials), RUclips or Instagram chooses your soap again, 10 or however many fragrance oils, 10 or however many embeds on a soap.

I'd love to see more problem-solving videos, like what you do to fix up bars that get dented or scraped, how to remove the soda ash with steam, what to do when your batch starts setting up fast and how to fix that in the future, etc. More a series for other soapmakers I suppose!

Possible challenge: finding a way to make certain scents that don't seem like they'd go together mix well and then designing a soap based on the scent!
I think this turned out beautiful! The side of the entire thing, before it was cut, looked like some kind of rainbow landscape with a blue/purple sky. So pretty. And it definitely gave me major Lisa Frank vibes. Young me would've absolutely needed several bars. lol. :D

I would love to see challenge soaps. One that I would love to see is color wheel inspired challenge soaps. (Complimentary colors, analogous colors, triadic colors, tetradic colors etc)

I think an experimental soap each month could be a fun thing. It’s a great way to continue learning, teaching us, and it’s an exciting limited edition bar you could sell with a fun explanation.
Soap challenges would be super cool! Maybe a wheel or online generator that lets you pick colors, if there are decorations, the type of soap(if it's a drop), sent, etc
