Great job Katie! Mom and business owner here who also identifies as not the most disciplined person 👋 I lost 40lbs last year and the way it transformed my ability to show up for my family is what fuels my commitment to my physical health. Stay linked in with why it matters to you, what sort of difference it will make in your day-to-day life. Insert those thoughts into every food choice you make. The other biggest thing that was a game changer for me was being curious about my snacking habits: when I reached for the cookies or my kids giant box of goldsfish, I got into the habit of asking “why?” Am I bored? For me my go to name was always Sabrina. Some of my earliest memories from when I was 3-4 were of me naming all my dolls and toys Sabrina, and asking my parents why they didn't name me Sabrina. I always just loved the name and thought it was beautiful. Now here I am as a grown adult with an adorable 3 year old daughter, who's name is of course.....Sabrina. I had her name picked out since I was her age, and my precious little Sabrina just happened to be born on Halloween Day as well. 💕
One thing I did was find podcasts I like and ONLY listen to them when I work out/work. I don't allow myself to listen any other times. It makes it so I look forward to listening to my favorite audio stories so I have to look forward to exercising. It's not perfect but it's motivating
You are such a delight to watch and listen to while making soap! Best of everything to you always: health, life and your craft/and talent! Thank you for sharing….I love your soaps! Have learned a lot!
As someone who's always hated exercise, I started taking some local spin classes when I also started having health issues. Super fun! Plus they usually turn the lights off so nobody can see you, and there's not as much pressure to keep up with the instructor.
This soap definately needs s 'do not eat' warning label😂 Looks great! The struggle is so real, when it comes to doing things that are good for you but not enjoyable.... I find exercize works best when I can pretend I'm just having fun, like chasing the kids as a game will get my pulse up without being tedious cardio training and zumba with upbeat music is sooo much more fun than a lap through gym equipment! Finding a 'workout' buddy can really help keep you motivated, someone waiting to have fun with you is the best pull to get off the couch! So get the kids, dog, friends, husband, mom - everyone - involved and make dates to play outdoor games, take walks or just have a 15 minute danceparty while dinner is in the oven❤
I always picked Tia or Spooky for my imaginary names when i was older. But when i was really little, i would be things like moobalooga lol. I'm in love with this soap. My favorite colors
Love you soap. I started working out years ago to help be proactive against diabetes as it runs in my family as well. Between having kids, work I got out of the habit. I was diagnosed with diabetes almost a year ago. My best advice is find an excise you like walking is the easiest starting out. Also talk with a diabetes educator if you have one in your area. The one I spoke with helped tremendously with making decisions to adjust my diet. You're in the right direction taking care of it now.
I really wish you would've posted videos for the other soaps in this collection... I'm not sure why no one else has said this yet. It would've also been nice to see the wax melts being made, too.
You're the most delightful person on youtube. I honestly feel like I'm hanging out with a friend when I watch your videos. On my way to buy this soap, it looks so good! I actually kind of like the muted green too but I'm loving the purple since that's my favorite color. Thanks Katie!
What keeps me motivated is having a group of ladies that I can count on. When I was younger, we used to run trails and now we mountain bike and I love it but what makes it even better is doing it with people you like. But I know that’s harder out in the country. The name I would always pick is Lauren. I thought it was the most elegant and beautiful name in the world… I named my firstborn girl, Lauren. I hope those endorphins kick in quickly and help you feel motivated to get out there and exercise! Wishing you good luck, Katie! 💜💜
For exercise, I really recommend group exercise classes. Especially Barre3, they are 45 minute classes that include weights, cardio and stretching. In my experience, it’s great for motivation because I’m not an exercise person at all. If you don’t live near a studio, most of them livestream their classes to take virtually as well.
I LOVE your look in this intro, Katie! You are always beautiful! But that head piece just elevates it even that much more! And it looks great with the shirt!
I also JUST found out I'm pre-diabetic and the changes are definitely hard ;A; It's really nice to hear you talk about how you can try to change your attitude. I need to keep that mantra in mind as I keep up exercise and cutting carbs.
I had never really heard of açaí bowls until I moved to Guam! They are super popular here. The best place to go is Mighty Purple! QOTD: I don’t remember having a name for myself, but my cousin would always choose Sparkles. 😄
I can promise you once you get in the routine seeing results and feeling better you will enjoy it. In fact your inspiring me to get back into that groove ❤❤
omg Katie! my partner is going through almost the EXACT same thing! doctor said "you have to make some serious changes or you'll have some real big problems down the line." so him and I both (me more for solidarity, but hey, I can afford to lose a couple pounds too) are being super health-conscious and seeing how we can exercise together. it is not easy!! but we are with you, girl!
Cold showers and plunges always sound like such a smart idea to me .... and then I remember that I have a literal cold allergy and that I CANT. 😂People talk about it and I'm like "oh yeah yeah yeah! Those health benefits .... wait. waiiiiiit a minute." When it comes to self care, my biggest challenge is cooking. I love walking and running, but I've never learned how to cook, I prefer to just. ...graze throughout the day, but that's rarely on healthy food if I haven't cooked it. So I like to tell myself that it's a gift I can give myself, which makes me feel good. Getting to cook means that I can have delicious food. I can have leftovers. I specifically take time to say thank you to myself for doing it, and reframing it as a gift to my future self, and gratitude to my past self makes it much less of a chore. If I think "I NEED to do (thing)" then I resist it. But if I think "I can do this as a favor to myself and my family" then it becomes a joy. I get a thrill at being able to do that.
@@sarahwatts7152 I didn't either until my dr told me what was wrong with me, haha. He told me I had an allergy to the cold, and I did not say "Wait, what, really??" but I definitely thought it at him. It explained a lot though! I live just a stones throw away from the royalty soap crew in Texas, so it's pretty nice and warm here for most of the year!
Good for you in making those positive changes and considering your children in why you want to make those changes. I always used the name Willow when playing games as a kid.
The pep talk I have to give myself to continue to take care of myself is “this will be good for my kids to see💜” Also, I used the name “Sarah” all the time as a kid😂😂
this is my favorite artisan soap of yours by FAR!!! im a sucker for pinks/purples with green, and you killed it with the concept and execution of the design! its soooo cute and so well put together and i love the texture of the layers. ugh. so good!! ❤❤❤
I love the green and purple together, and then the contrast with the middle. A really pretty soap! I can’t remember using a pretend name as a kid. I was always just me, but inserted into whatever universe we were playing in. My online names usually involved my cats’ names, except for Kalieris, which is based on the goddesses Kali and Eris and refers to transformative chaos (which was a major feature of my 30s, and a recurring theme since then). So I’ve had that as a handle for almost 20 years at this point. I’m also terrible at naming other beings - with one exception, my pets have always kept the name they came with. The one that didn’t got a name that my friend suggested, lol. My son’s name was picked by his father, who had picked it out years before we even met as a name he’d want to give a boy. He also had a girl’s name picked out, and had always dreamed of getting married and having kids. I never imagined either of those things when I was little. Got really flummoxed when we had to give our egg babies names in high school, lol! Don’t remember what I ultimately picked.
oh my gods same for the exercise thing. can never just exercise for the sake of exercise. my trick, which may or may not work for anyone else, is that it has to be fun! so i do gymnastics because that's fun for me!
I used to just pick different flower names, cuz I like my name and didn't really feel thw need to change it, but like you have to when you're playing a character, so I would be holly or jasmine usually
I love layered colours. The little dragonfruit balls are adorable. My favourite pretend names were Alex and Delilah. The latter might have something to do with the song "Hey There Delilah" by the Plain White T's that was on the radio all the time at that time
Me who just bought 3 soaps from this batch because I finally got money have just a few words. I love your soaps!!! I always buy from you every 6 or so months since your soaps take me a long time to use. My brother even loves your soaps and he hates most soaps from other stores i bought from. Your's though he loves. Yours are the only text i can stand so thats my favorite part.
Also, intermittant fasting (eating only once or twice a day within 4-6 hours of each meal...i.e. lunch at 2pm & dinner at 6pm...is a HUGE help with blood sugar control. NO SNACKING! 💕
A little encouragement is the fact that it doesn’t take a lot of exercise to bring down your blood sugar. Give a quick walk around the block or a few trips up and down the stairs to begin lowering blood sugars. It’s pretty astonishing.
This soap turned out soooo great! It’s amazing the visions you see. When you were making it I was skeptical, but oh my I was wrong! Such a talent you have! Thank you for sharing this with us 💚
As someone who also does not enjoy exercise, I had to find a way to make it work for me. For example, frolicking. You ever go out into a field and get the urge to skip around? Perfect serotonin. Great exercise. And another example, the rowing machine is the only gym equipment i even remotely enjoy.
Good for you, Katie! I know how hard it can be to start a new "habit". Cute soap, too! My go-to name as a child was always Tina (unless my friend and I were playing CHiPS on our bikes).
I know this sounds simple but try a bunch of different exercise things when you’re fired up to make exercise changes, especially things you never thought you could. Pay attention to how each impacts your mood, then plan to keep doing the ones that get you in the best mood. Also remember movement can be: taking care of your house, lifting batches of soap, running after the kiddos, going for a walk with your husband or coworkers at lunch hour. Exercise is not confined to a gym, but also don’t be afraid to try an intimidating class, it could feel really empowering.
I hate exercise so much. But what I do love, is playing Beat Saber and Pistol Whip in VR! It is SO MUCH exercise and SO MUCH fun! Definitely recommend checking them out. Gardening has also helped me a lot. I've lost a ton of weight just between those 2 things and literally 0 other exercise or physical activities.
Katie, I just almost fangirl screamed when you said that one of your favorite pretend names was Erin! I was OBSESSED with a made up-ish name - Columbatia (call - oom - BAY - sha), and I probably hadn't thought of that in twenty years. 😂
VIDEO IDEA: 🌟I think it would be so interesting if you made a video at the end of the year just talking about the stats of the year. The best sellers, worst sellers, things you were surprised by, etc.
Great video, Katie! Also, I do NOT like exercising either but have kept at it regularly for about 3 months now and will never stop now that I am FEELING results! Stick with it and you won't regret it. ❤️
Alexandra! Lol funny little story, my brother and I bonded a ton in our teenage years playing a game called EverQuest 2 on the PlayStation and my very first character I named Anora and his he named Aubrie, turns out without thinking about it we both named our first daughters after our video game characters 😅
Love this soap! I now have to go make one I think … I hate when people tell me about diet things…but I am also pre-diabetic and lately found glucose goddess and it really helped me. My overall mental health is better and my cycle is normal again. It’s not a diet or anything. Just some tips! I hope all the best on your journey…you’ve got this
I totally feel the dislike of exercising, but I'm 3 years in to Strength and Conditioning training, and I still don't think of it as fun, but I love the difference I've found in my mental health! So I don't let myself off the hook. And after I'm done, I curl up with my book, zero guilt!
Katie, with this new method of marking the center spot of the grid I was thinking that maybe a grid with sticks could be helpful... Did you think about that? Something like this bamboo utensils from Ikea, the dish drainers, but upside down... I don't know if it will work 😅😅😅
The soap is great, I wholly agree with the changes you made but the base idea is wonderful regardless. Meanwhile, good for you to be proactive with your health. Just keep thinking of the terrible pain and other issues you're avoiding down the road - I've seen them in older relatives and I'm sure you have too. Wishing you all the best, I know you'll get there.
Beautiful soap! I never had a acai bowl, I need to try it. As for the name, when I was little I use to wish my name was Rose, because I thought Rose was such a pretty name and my real name was just ok. But now I appreciate my name alot more and its unique because I found out it means "princess" in Greek, supposedly. 😊
Kudos to you for working on yourself! Please give yourself grace and time and keep up the pep talks! We love watching your videos and love your positive, optimistic outlook!
I don’t remember exact names. But when I started creating original characters (in the anime sense) when I was 13-14 ish I had a affinity for names beginning with the name K. Some examples are Kali, Kita. Kari. Kalista, and Kyo, Ect, but as I’ve gotten older (I’m 29 now) they have diversified. So now I’ve got names like, Dani. Sina. Melody. Grace, Sammi. Maria. Marcella, ect…
This is such a nice chatty video honestly, im catching up after a long while not watching the channel. Best wishes about the exercise, reminds me of what i have to do 😅
My childhood name was always Nora. My dads neighbor that lived upstairs was named Nora, and I just thought that was the most beautiful name ever. And to this day if I ever have a daughter, Nora is a top option.
Thank you so much for your videos I've been really stressed and overwhelmed (I have autism so I don't handle it well) and your videos are very calming to me and are helping me take the break I need which I've been struggling to do because I have a lot to get done before this weekend. I'm part of a small group putting together the first disability pride event in my state and everything has to go perfect
Ok. Now we need a Boba Tea! 😆😆😆

Rose I used as a kid, don't remember others, I currently use Quinn Moonchild and Amaris Vesper as character names most often
Wasn't keen on the green to begin with but yeah it works super well, you've made yet another Forbidden Snack
Your video is such a joy to watch
Can relate to todays question... Vicky was the coolest to me for some reason and Rosie was the other favorite. Would pick it for myself or my barbies.
This is the BEST question of the day!!! I was always "Rose" when I played pretend haha
If you have Squeezed or Kiva Juice nearby those are my favorite places to get açaí bowls!
4:07 omg my mouth is watering
It looks so cute!! I love the soap gum ball on top! My childhood pretend name was always Abigail.
Alexandra! Lol funny little story, my brother and I bonded a ton in our teenage years playing a game called EverQuest 2 on the PlayStation and my very first character I named Anora and his he named Aubrie, turns out without thinking about it we both named our first daughters after our video game characters 😅
This makes me happy
I also liked Crystal as a kid. I've done Merisol & Aryella more recently.
Acai bowl powder is my go-to when I want a treat. I mix it into my oatmeal. :3
This is so pretty!!
Love this soap! I now have to go make one I think …
I hate when people tell me about diet things…but I am also pre-diabetic and lately found glucose goddess and it really helped me. My overall mental health is better and my cycle is normal again. It’s not a diet or anything. Just some tips!
I hope all the best on your journey…you’ve got this
Thank you for sharing I look forward to seeing your videos
I totally feel the dislike of exercising, but I'm 3 years in to Strength and Conditioning training, and I still don't think of it as fun, but I love the difference I've found in my mental health! So I don't let myself off the hook. And after I'm done, I curl up with my book, zero guilt!
Iris was my go to name for video game characters
Katie, with this new method of marking the center spot of the grid I was thinking that maybe a grid with sticks could be helpful... Did you think about that? Something like this bamboo utensils from Ikea, the dish drainers, but upside down... I don't know if it will work 😅😅😅
your videos are always so relaxing to watch when im feeling anxious or stressed,, i cant wait til i can buy your soap myself
This definitely made me crave açaí
You are the best and I am proud of you for taking control of your health. 1/2 lemon juice in water morning & night will help you incredibly ❤
Soap is gorgeous 🎉
It's a beautiful soap!
Cute soap!
My daughter had two! Her fairy name was Elskrikana, but her pirate name was Captain Falana!
This is such a nice chatty video honestly, im catching up after a long while not watching the channel. Best wishes about the exercise, reminds me of what i have to do 😅
Omg how cutie!!!
My name was always Priscilla!! Lol!! 😂 The soap is gorgeous! 🤍💖💚🤍💚💖🤍
Aww! So glad you like my name! I kinda stuck with my own name, since I felt more involved in the story that way
My childhood name was always Nora. My dads neighbor that lived upstairs was named Nora, and I just thought that was the most beautiful name ever. And to this day if I ever have a daughter, Nora is a top option.
❤❤ love launch days!
Would you ever consider bringing back the Tolstoy fragrance? It's my absolute favorite
I totally did the name thing! I always picked Maya, haha.
I always like the video before it even starts 😩 cause I know ima enjoy it!❤
