I think you should lighten up the main yellow to get more contrast between the yellows and I like the idea of a purple drizzle on the frosting :)

I was about to say the exact same thing! The soap as-is is gorgeous but lightening the main yellow would add a bretter amount of contrast!
Opinions!
1) Like some others have said, either lighten the "main" yellow color so the poured yellow is more distinct against it, OR change the poured yellow to a green for a more "plant" feel.
2) Wallpaper. Depends on what vibe you want. The first paper with the big botanical print is better if you want the walls to be their own statement and room accessory. The middle paper with the subtle pattern is better if you want to put a lot of accessories in the room and on the walls - it won't compete. The third paper - I'm just not a fan of. Sorry.
I 100% agree with you. Being as unbiased as possible on the last one though, it would be somewhere in the middle. You could get away with hanging 1-2 small/medium, cool neutral items but getting them to line up right with the studs AND wallpaper would just be a pain.

Honestly, I feel proud that I became a soap maker. I have eczema, like you, and mine is triggered by cheep fragrance. So everyone who manufactures on a large scale, including lush, isn't an option. I needed to control what was in my soaps so I had to make my soap. I had absolutely no idea where to start; because how do you do research when you don't know what to ask. Then you came in and you where an absolute god send. When you made the academy, I cant tell you how much you saved me, my skin, and my sanity. You made it inexpensive and extremely easy, and every document you've attached, every website you've pointed out, and every product you buy you tell us where its from; has been extremely helpful and that has made all the difference in every bar I make and use. So I hope with every fiber of my being that you don't doubt any video you make will be not be useful, because they have been and I'm sure they will continue to be.
Gurl, absolutely please make whatever tutorials strike your fancy I will watch them and mimic your steps religiously. Anyone *could* teach me but I trust you, my mom trusts you. I used your videos to put together a big tote with the Royal academy checklist for mothers day after it came out and we loved it. We’ve made several batches since and have just been waiting to have a full weekend together to make more. You added a whole shared hobby to our relationship and I can’t thank you enough. We would definitely love more royal academy.

You said it right there. ANYONE could teach how to make soap, but whether or not to trust them is another story. Katie's been making soap for ten years, runs a whole business, and has taught her family/employees the way to make soap. What seals the trust factor most for me though, is how adamant she is about safety.
Definitely add a purple drizzle on top! It would help emphasize the purple swirl.

The middle wallpaper! The neutral one! Also, I would lighten the main yellow but the purple drizzle sounds exciting! Lavender and lemon is like one of my fav scents! So excited to see it as a part of this collection.
I'd suggest to make that yellow a green, it ties in the plant vibe of both lavander and lemon and due to yellow and purple being opposite colors it gives a little rest
I like this idea, kind of like lemon "leaves" or mint or something. Give it a more botanical feel.

For the wallpaper, I like the middle one the best. The first one is a bit busy and the last one is maybe too rigid. The middle one is organic, elegant and like you said neutral. :)
It would hold up the best over time in my opinion, the left and right papers may start to look dated sooner
Fully agree with this !! The second one almost feels timeless too, like you could live with it for a very long time and just making minor changes to the decor in the room would give you a completely different look :)
Hearing something from a trusted source is WAY more valuable and reassuring than just seeing info from any creator that comes up when you search something. Also, having a trusted source to reference when finding info elsewhere is incredibly helpful! Like others have said, including yourself 😉, you bring something different to the table just because you're YOU💚
I feel like you make things more approachable in your tutorials. I can be hard on myself when trying new things. You took the anxiety out of it. You keep things fun but still safe.
I love that first wallpaper! Its gorgeous, and I think it will be something that will age well trend/aesthetics wise. Also, it has those nice muted colors that you can incorporate into your other decor!
We would be ALL about that tutorial life, girl! Even if there are oodles of them out there, everyone learns differently. Sometimes a different person has a new spin on the same information that just makes it click for people. You could totally be the new spin that makes it click for someone.

It is actually helpful to have the option of multiple people giving tutorials on the same subject. You will explain it in your own way, which is bound to click with some people’s learning styles, even people who had trouble really understanding the other tutorials! And for a craft like this where there is some investment and caustic substance involved, I would want to watch as many tutorials as I can to get a well rounded understanding from multiple perspectives. You absolutely have lots to offer the soaping tutorial space, Katie! Go for it!

I like the first wallpaper, it's very pretty on its own, I think the second one is good if you want something that you can easily add to (art, mirror etc). Stay away from the third one tho :P
With the soap definitely add a little more white to the yellow and add a lavender drizzle, it might not need the glitter. The lavender bits could also be concentrated on the top (middle) of the loaf.
The soap is pretty as is, but I think it would look nice with a light pastel purple frosting 🙂

When it comes to writing and art, they always say, "okay, sure it's already been done, but it hasn't been done by you." Which you should definitely take to heart. You're unique and even if you think someone else does something better or even the same, you shouldn't discount yourself. We all have something to offer, if not in the big moments, in the little ones. And speaking for myself, I love your tutorials!
People are asking you to make the tutorials because they respect you as a creator and soap artisan.
You have shown your skill and knowledge by sharing it with us for years and we trust you.
I think that is the key! You have built our trust through your knowledge great products and amazing personality.
I think the yellow needs a bit of toning down, personally. When I think lemonade I think cloudy translucent with a hint of yellow, whereas this soap is very...Kool-aid/Peeps.
That's what I keep thinking! Just needs to cool it a little. haha

You are far and away the best tutorial teacher I have ever watched! Imposter Syndrome is real, but you have been making soap for a long time and are most definitely a professional with information to share. Also, the fact that one of your approaches is to be cost conscious is so very unique.

You are the reason I started making soaps and more importantly.. after I permanently injured my back from years of nursing then bed ridden you probably saved my life. I started watching your videos because they made me laugh and the hypnotic colours and of course the cutting of the soaps😂 for a year until I learned (through your videos) that i could break things into smaller daily tasks and try my own so I did a little each day along side your videos and you made it fun and funny along with your famjam! Now I'm able to tolerate standing and setting up, creating and clean up the same day!😃 You have a zillion videos showing how to make great soaps that have been teaching me and so many others soap making for years!!!! When I want to change something up, I tweak it myself whether purposely or accidently... you have shown me it's okay to make mistakes as they are often my best soaps but at the same time you teach safety! You and your videos are awesome so please just keep being you!

I like the inside of the soap! Something I think might improve it is a mica line/drizzle between layers of the frosting. It's something I personally really like and find it really adds an interesting element!
Please keep making tutorials! I just made my first batch following your tutorials (im cutting it wendsday) and ive been watching your creative academy videos like crazy. If i hadnt i would have messed up for sure. You gave me the confidence i needed to finally get started. Your personality is what makes your tutorials so special and sets them apart from others like bramble berry.

Hey! I haven't watched your tutorials on soap making but I wanted to encourage you to make more. There's always always going to be room for more informational content. You have many years of experience under your belt and, speaking from an artist's perspective, it's extremely valuable and helpful to hear different people share information about their craft. You might share a little detail or nugget of information that sticks with another soap maker indefinitely! Also, if you're worried about repeating yourself or putting out information that already exists, repetition isn't a bad thing in education. That information is there for those who seek it out BUT you might have an explanation that resonates better or a perspective someone hasn't explored yet. Please do it! Thanks!

I love the neutral acorns floral. It leaves you more space visually for pictures, mirrors... kid art? :D You should make teaching videos that are just what you do and just what you know. Some of us prefer you and the way you do things. It doesn't really matter if EVERYONE loves them... not everyone buys your soaps or likes your videos. I know that for me I'm a basic and totally newb at soaping and making lotions and balms. I can ONLY tell the difference in lotion which oils I used. Some are frankly more oily. In soap I agree with you, I like milk soaps for shaving, so does my boyfriend (so legs AND face) and otherwise I've had some really expensive stuff and honestly didn't like it as well as the $10 bar of milk soap from my local swap meet. LOL Teach us with what YOU do. What's the overused phrase? You do YOU boo? xoxo

I learned how to make soap with your videos, so I think you’re a great teacher. I think teaching intermediate techniques is a wonderful idea. Another option is teaching your approach to color. Like in today’s video you mentioned how you always add more purple than you think you need to achieve your desired color payoff. Maybe you can explain why you often mix neons with other colors to anchor them, or even just explaining what you mean by anchoring. Maybe the videos will be shorter, but I think you do such a good job of explaining things. I truly appreciate how much I’ve learned from you already!

You keep making the videos, every soap maker is different and we all take to different methods and you are so very relatable. Please don’t stop, I was very excited when I saw you had actually done it in the first place.
I absolutely love your way of teaching. You explain things clearly and encourage people to want to do things the right (safe) way, but are also encouraging and positive in general which is super important when someone is learning something brand new. I think if tutorials are something you enjoy doing then you should go for it because you're a great fit for a teacher.

I LOVE this soap as is. As for people wanting you to post more tutorials. I think people know they could find the same information elsewhere, but they want you to do it because it’s you. We love your content. It’s that simple. We come for you and what you have to say and all of your stories. It doesn’t matter the info can be found somewhere else if it’s not you delivering it. Also I love the first wallpaper the most! And Katie I will not go back outside today it’s a storm in upstate NY right now 😂 but I will have some hot chocolate lol
Ok, first off, you taught me soooooo much about soap making! Not only that, you incite creativity and inspire self confidence so don't even say you don't think you're the one to teach somebody. Secondly, who cares about how many other tutorials are out there or if they specialize in tutorials. I speak for the Royal Court when I say we want Katie! Teach, Duchess, TEACH!!!!!
I love the soap!! Especially with that bright pop of darker yellow. Maybe I'd put a pastel purple drizzle, but that's all I would suggest. Also, i love your tutorials so I'd watch them anyway.

I think that after 10+ years of making soap makes you more than qualified for whatever you would like to teach people about soap making, I have even made soap for myself because of watching you! People love watching you ( myself included) you're very personable, and awesome! I would be interested in how you clean your soap dishes lol just to see how it's done at your company, and how or if I need to change anything that I'm potentially doing differently or just to see how I could improve! ❤

I love the look of this soap! The swirl in the middle is my favorite. I think it would be pretty to have the main color as a more cream white with the yellow and purple swirled in and leave it simple with just the lavender buds on top.
In terms of the colours, think you should lighten the main yellow and deepen/warm up the contrast yellow and maybe even add a white to swirl in the middle. Definitely drizzle some purple throughout the frosting to keep the continuity. For the wallpapers I like 1 and 3 equally!

With regards to more tutorial videos: Remember that people want to vibe with their teacher. You have such a bright personality and (as in this video) you roll with the mistakes when you are actually making soap. I don't watch soap making tutorials because I'm not learning to make soap. BUT I would watch YOUR soap making tutorials because you are such a lovely person and I like listening to you!
Katie, you've been doing soap for so many years and have shared all your experiences good and bad honestly and openly. I'd trust you and your advice and tutorials over anybody else out there.
