We stopped in at the farm shop the other week and I spotted your dad pottering about. I waved at him and he came over to have a chat, it was around that point I realised I had no idea what his real name was, neither "dad" or "the ginge" felt appropriate 😂 For the sake of anyone else, it's Andrew.
What an extremely satisfying watch this was! I love the feeling after a good clean up on the farm. It's difficult when you come from a mentality of trying to save something you MIGHT need in the future, but deep down you know you'll never use it. Passing it on to someone who can use it while it's still in useable condition is far better than just watching it deteriorate until it's absolutely useless. Excited to watch the rest of the clean up process!
This is making me feel a lot better about cleaning out my garage. The one full of boxes from two cross country USA moves over the past 25 years. I’m about 2/3 the way through.
Tom u did a grand job sir. Doesn’t look like a crowd of Knackers live there anymore. Great Craic Tom. Ur Texas friend with the Longhorns. It’s 102 here today n will feel like 111. Wish I was in Scotland now.
Wow do some farmers still use molasses, I remember when I was about 5 (64 years ago) the farm my dad was a cowman on they used to get molasses in 50 gallon drums used it put it on the silage clamp as they made, well one day I apparently went missing all day no one could find me police called out they eventually found me, I was in one of the used molasses stuffing myself with the molasses that had stuck to the sides and bottom of the drum apparently I was covered from head to foot took a while to scrub it off took awhile to scrub it off I was so I was told, I love the stuff 🤣🤣
The old scraper if you weld a loaded bracket on it you can use them as a food pusher if it's a reversible scraper, we used one on a bobcat and a tractor before when our pusher broke
So glad to get gone with the old and start with the new. It's hard for most people to get rid of old old stuff it must be in our DNA because alot of people do it get rid of it it looks so ooooo nice!!!! Proud of you
magic Tom , cant beat a good clear out once in a while , we had one of those back in 2013 , there was lorry loads of tut , 2 combines , an old AVA swedish heap a junk , and a small volvo combine ,glad to see the back of them an tons of other junk which had lane there since christ begane !!!! came to a swag of money too ............................ well done tom keep at it !!!
That’s always a satisfying job cleaning up and getting things gone as for the timber bonfire night is on the way I am sure someone would have it to make there’s bigger and better keep up with the great videos Tom 👏👏👍👍
Tom, really good start, but still a lot to do to tidy the yard up! Just be careful when you scrape the grassy area as you never know what items you might uncover that can damage tires and shoes! Nicely done by your “crew”!👍👍
Hi Tom, Why dont u cut top off old mollases tank and use it as a scrap metal bin (metal only) and when its full enough send or take it to local scrap yard.
Wow, that was a great clean up Tom !! Lots of junk to get rid of, that was a pretty substantial pile of junk. Righto Getting there !! Happy Friday from Montreal.
Tom we were clearing out our farm and first our first tractor didn’t start, our loader tractor had a puncher so weep couldn’t do anything but we started anyway. Half seven at night we heard a splash, went to the water trough in the field and it was just the casual two calf’s in it. What a good day that was😂😂
Tom, to do what you are doing, clearing out old unused metal and everything, over here in Oz, we have to tread carefully, it's a favourite hiding space for Red Belly Blacks (poisonous snake) and Red Backs (toxic spiders), LOL!
Tom, From across the pond, I do enjoy your videos. Good content, good presentation and enjoy the music! Keep up the good work 👍🏼. Wishing you & your family the very best!
thanks for this, I been yelling at the tube sometimes, CLEAN UP THE YARD MAN, my Dad used to be a monster on keeping the farm cleaned up. this is yet another reason we have an excavator, a dozer, a front loader, a Kenworth, and RGN trailer, and a skid loader on the ranch, and I'm a welder, good on ya Tom
Wow! It’s pretty impressive that you guys can pick up such heavy Timbers etc. Just shows what great shape your in! Your industriousness is a real inspiration for many of us! 🥳👏👍🤩
I was thinking to myself that’d be a great place for a concrete pad, then you said that’s what you’re doing. It’s a great day. Two Tom Pemberton videos. Eternit r leased their video with Tom talking about the new barn, and their concrete roofing.
I love a good farm clean-up video. Well done! Thinking about a metal frame on which to store those old tires so that a fork lift blade could go right on and pick up several at a time. Big stprage rack for tires that make them easy to get to with forks on a telehandler or something. Nice work. Looks great!
Almost certainly they wont take them - now classed as Hazardous waste. That' s why it costs £2.50 to get rid of your old tyre everytime you buy a new one
Its so satisfying to see all the junk going its gonna make the farm look better and make life easier getting around the yard. Also its cash back in the bank whilst the price is high
Every farm suffers from "just in case-itis", a chronic condition. To finally get rid of stuff.. Ah what a freedom! Eg I've just burnt two trailer loads of rotting/wood wormed timber.. Well done TP & Luke.
Tom, you throw so many things that if you would take a little time taking parts off your shop would have spare pipes. Motor from bulk tank chains, more of the hydrologic hoses than just the end ,more pto's
I really enjoy watching your adventure in farming. I know that my tiny purging experience is nothing to compare to yours, but It is so therapeutical. I am excited to watch your progress
Good to see you're finally getting a handle on clearing up. There's a fine line between storing something because it MIGHT be useful and just being a hoarder. Personally, rather than storing stuff that will just deteriorate from no use I'd pass things I don't need right now on to someone who needs it now, unless I know I need the item in the near future.
Love a clear up and throw out, hope you get a few pounds for the kitty with the scrap metal! Looks like a lot of clear space is discovered, always exciting.
YES At long last the BIG tidy up has started. But you still have a long way to go Tom. All those tyres, that pile of concrete slabs looming out in the background and what's under all those weeds? Finally! I still see stuff being shunted around the yard. How many times have you moved those rotten sleepers? Moving it may give you a sense of satisfaction but it really has to go Tom.
@@Wetthewhistle Yes I know, I have watched Tom move that same stuff around the farm at least a dozen times since he started making vids. He has a lot more hidden from view.
Tom I know from experience FARMERS are cheap! but that Rugby Shirt Tom!! Tha must have sum-at a bit better than that Lad. Ha! Ha!😃😉 Nice to see a good clean up on the Farm, well anywhere really. Thanks for sharing Tom.
Makes you feel so much better after a tidy up. My latest is if I’ve not used it for 2 years it gets binned then a month later I need it 😂. The clearance you made in this video looks great, sometimes we just need to be ruthless when getting rid of things.
Farmer P is looking for some chain off of one of these. Find it bizarre that you can only buy the link pin but not the roller. He'd snap your right hand off for a lump of chain - only problem is - he's 200+ miles away!
Looked like one or two long lengths of angle iron on the floor of the skip Tom, I'd keep them off I was you they cash be very useful. How far is the scrap yard? You could tow the old keenan there and take the wheels off once there for spares? Does is anything else compatible with your keenan? That milk churn, pot some one would pay a tenner to have that for planting flowers. Looks loads better Tom! Concrete for a building? If it's for machinery just put stone and a membrane down. If you're thinking for a workshop, I think it would be better closer to where it can be seen from the house unless you put a good alarm on.
here is an idea for you, find a company that build and sell tire grinders and ask em if they want to do a colab demo of one of their tire grinders and then use the ground tires for other purposes.
@@TomPembertonFarmLife it is i use em for drainage around underground clay drain pipes like the ones you have in your field. how much is gravel per ton? compared to free tire chips?
Great make more room for more junk, once the concrete goes down. That pad could be where your workshop goes, be ideal as its not really a productive area.

Mr Pemberton feels "right"?! Wot a gent
Well done Tom, clean up brilliant,(I'm Alive) by Don Fardon very app song! Or ,James Brown I'll Feel Good!
Great job you 3 have done , the old milk jug would make a nice planter for outside your farm shop.
you see them clay pipes, find a hole in a hedge and stack them up in there, birds and other creatures make nests in them and they dont get in the way.
Can’t get rid of the ginger guys pride and joys he loves his draining 👍😂
Great idea that tbf 👏😊
Make it happen
Also good to put Rat Poison in, so the farm cat does not eat it.
A clean space is a safe space
Taught my students that, just this week. 😁

Great to have a tidy up. Put you unwanted machinery and stuff on a collective machinery sale . We have regular sales in our area.
Watching the clean up from Ndola Zambia 🇿🇲🇿🇲🇿🇲👍👍👍
Definitely a great video of you guys cleaning up that area looks really good
Some good hard work there and it's so satisfying when you see what you have done 😊
I love to watch the tidying up!
I hope you get the tires sorted soon. They have had two lives and hopefully, will have a third life when recycled. 👍👍😁

If the tyres don't go, use them to build a mud and tyre wall/enclosure for where you store tractor implements.
good step forward in the cleaning. well done

A lot of farmers are stronger then ppl think. Even with machinery, still a lot of physical work. With Belly or six pack, they got muscles 💪 😂

Nice to see a good yard tidy
When my dad was young he worked on a farm and they always put molasses on the silage 👍
That yard scraper you could swap the rubber on it and exchange it for some tyres to fit on for pushing your winter feed up 👍
You guy's did a lot ... way more than we can see thru a short clip. Good job.
I've got plenty of that type of work too. Not as much metal, but a mess
Excellent progress!

Great stuff Tom nothing like a good tidying up scrap value is very good at the moment
