glad to see how positive Ginger is, the farm he was raised on is having life changing developments and he is so upbeat happy and ready. Now if we could just get the tractor to grow like he said with a little fertilizer at 14:53. This was another uplifting video, well other than your finger. Vids can never be too long. Thanks for making my day a little brighter. BC Canada

Great video Tom, I know you weren't sure about the "Marshmallow" silage but as the Ginger hero once said in one of your videos "Everyone loves pickled onions but you couldn't eat a full jar" The cows can tell the difference, as the saying goes a change is as good as a rest so no wonder they were mad for it. 😉👍

When you are in discussions with the Ginger Warrior is when we learn the most about Dairy Farming across the Pond. I was raised on a Dairy Farm in Pennsylvania and it is so not very different in most aspects, but there are small things that we did over here that assuredly wouldn’t make sense over there and small over there that wouldn’t work over here.

There's about the same amount of silage left in that clamp as my landlord has left in his - except he only has one! Understandably, he's fairly keen for the weather to dry up so he can kick the cows outside.
As for your comment about 50% of accidents happening going down, you're right. In climbing there was an old French saying: "Tous les grands chefs sont tués en rappel." All the great climbers are killed abseiling, i.e., going down, not up.

I am so glad that I have found these videos, they are great. I was born on a pig farm (that always makes my daughters laugh), and three years later my father was forced off the smallholding, as he was doing another job at a local paper mill. I am finding the videos fascinating, and maybe I am sensing what life might have been like if the price of pork hadn't dropped as much and we kept the smallholding. Who knows I could still be farming instead of being a retired vicar!!!

I set up a wash station on a small trailer, power washer, generator and water tank,.
Added some tools and grease gun. Saved so much time on moving stuff.
At end of day, or. Rainy day, spending 30 mins , an hour.
It didnt matter that you got messy or wet as you would be jumping in an hot shower very soon .
Also nothing to put away, just leave stuff on trailer.
Need to cleanup old stuff and new stuff.
    Work smarter.
