  • Yesterday I shared a video with my final thoughts and major pieces of feedback in regards to the Modern Warfare II Beta and today, I wanted to take the time to look at a bunch of the little things that I feel have room for improvement. Most of these are fairly minor and not game changers by any means but I still wanted to provide my feedback. What are some other little things that you'd like to see adjusted based on your experience with the MWII Beta?

    Kinda surprised how nobody has mentioned the UAV delay..... Came across so many incidents where a red dot would ping, a teammate would kill that player yet they would still ping shortly afterwards making u think there's someone there, so u take the corner expecting an enemy only to find him dead and get shot from the opposite direction ..... Was something which really frustrated me and seems to be something that only occured the last day of the beta

      I noticed this as well. Honestly I kinda like it since it makes the UV much less of a "OMG THEY ARE EXACTLY RIGHT HERE GO KILL THEM NOW" tool. Since ghost availability is severely cut short I think its a fair way to balance the UAV and not make it 100% necessary as a 4 kill streak

      And when you put someone into last stand and finish them, but you dont get a kill toward your killstreaks

    Another thing that I feel is strange is how scorestreaks work. You'd think that the XP that shows up for performing certain actions counts as score, however that's not always the case. It seems like getting a kill gives you full score (i.e. earn 125xp for a kill = 125 score towards your next streak), but other things don't. A good example in this video is when he destroys the counter UAV at 12:41 - he gets 100 xp, but his score towards the next kill streak only goes from 250 -> 325, or just 75 score. Similarly you get 500xp for capping the neutral middle flag, but it only counts for something like 125 score (I forget this one exactly, but close to that). Now I don't think you should earn a full UAV just for capping that middle flag at the start of the game, but it's just a bit confusing and tough to reason about.

      I think what you're seeing is total XP to rank up, actual scorestreak points are a fraction of that in some instances, +100 score is accurate for a kill in regular XP and towards streaks, +125 is About right for capping a flag

      The xp on screen is just the xp you earn towards your level. It's different to scorestreak xp. But I understand the confusion.

      Nobody has noticed but the way scorestreaks are set up is dumb and completely different from other CoD games. IW are trash

    I loved ninja defusing on the OG MW2. There was a perk that let you not have the tag above your character. God nostalgia is a hell of a drug.

    I noticed a lot of people in the beta running past enemies or looking at enemies and not shooting them because they didn't realize they were enemies, so hopefully they'll add a way to more easily tell who's who. I also had a funny instance where I was standing out in the open messing around with my load out menu and enemies ran right past me and it wasn't a one off one person thing three different people ran right past my fully visible out in the open character. I don't know if they simply couldn't see me or if they saw me but assumed I was a teammate, either way that shouldn't be happening when people are only a few feet from you

    High Alert is working through walls. If an enemy is aiming in your direction even if you are behind a wall it still triggers high alert. Might be worth testing when the game comes out Ace.

    11:00 the fire selector being backwards seemed to happen with semi auto weapons

      Battle rifles that would start the game as semi instead of full auto

      That happened to me with the one battle rifle that turns into the MP5. I thought it was only semi automatic. Until I turned it to what should’ve been semi auto and then it was fully automatic lol

      The worst thing is they labeled the semi auto mode to be burst fire by text

      If you added the launcher on them you couldn't even switch to auto anymore on keyboard at least.

    I think the nameplates/enemy identification really needs to be looked at. Like you said about the lights, if IW doesn't want to do full on nameplates, they could easily throw some red or blue chemlights on the character models to help identify. I think that would be a decent compromise and help a ton with IDing enemies.

      Someone under another video suggested armbands since they've seen a lot of use in Ukraine recently so it wouldn't be too unrealistic

      I’d be happy if they did that to teammates (heck, make the whole character model glow blue), but they shouldn’t interfere with camo on an enemy by lighting them up.

      If they do this, then they definitely need to take away the blue dots above friendly heads or at least allow us to change the colors of the chemlights in settings. Speaking from the perspective of someone with moderate colorblindness, the first thing my brain goes to when trying to quickly identify something is not color. It's typically shape or some obvious difference between the two objects I'm comparing.
      So even if they do this, I might see someone with red chemlights on their character but I would still be tricked if there's a team mate behind the other wall because I will see the circle above their head before I see the red lights. If they at least give us the option to change the color of the chemlights in settings, I could change the enemy lights to something that stands out more to me than the friendly lights.

    The head glitches are super powerful in this game, it seems almost impossible to challenge. I think slower ttk would have really helped

      I think mounting is bugged which is why head glitches are so hard to challenge. Like I’ve been able to challenge head glitches when the enemy wasn’t mounted on it but when the enemy is mounted I can only barely see the tippity top of their head which gives me almost no chance to accurately hit

      Part of the reason head glitching is so powerful is due to the lack of name tags. It’s harder to get a sense of exactly where a target that small is without them

    The POTG glitch has been a thing since MW2019, it has to do with the engine. if a grenade or explosion goes if in the POTG then it cuts off

    A really good solution it's better than some of the things that you suggested is just when a teammate is on the other side of a wall you just don't see the Blue Dot

      In a fast TTK game you expect team indication disappearing when aiming at enemy have enough time to react?

      Or just give us the option to turn off the blue dots and just use the mini-map? Don't expect much from infinitytrash

      Well testing was done and the time to kill his right in line with the rest of call of duty and in kind of on the slow end. There's other factors that play there. All they have to do is have the teammate bubble or name plate show up as you come around the corner you'll see the name plate basically appearing as your view appears on them. In fact I think I've seen this exact same another game but I can't remember what it is. You also have your minimap in non-hardcore modes that would allow you to know where your team is without needing it

      Or just...not have blue dots through walls? I already see my teammates on the mini-map so why do I need a constant feed of their location?

    0:54 that death was the perfect example for the segment. even ignoring the idea of having trouble ID'ing someone mid match, i went back and replayed that bit over and over trying to see if i could see the guy who killed you, and he was just completely hidden. its such a massive problem and that c flag really sucks cos of it.

    I'm surprised lobby leaderboards and deaths on in game scoreboard aren't a bigger issue with the community. If I can use those tools to identify a sweat and focus my energy on them, I can potentially indirectly influence the outcome of a match

    The Chopper Gunner needs to be how it was in MW19 or no one will use it. Map voting/skipping definitely needs to be a thing because they make shit maps sometimes and the community has every right to not want to play them. I also agree that specific weapon stats need to be shown. I want to know why an attachment causes bad performance after adding it and vice versa with good attachments. The more specific weapon information we have access to, the better they can be built. The UI could use a few improvements, but I still found the beta version easy to navigate. It’s just reading. Kill streak times being sped up is something I didn’t notice right away, but now that you mentioned it, it could use a speed boost. And lastly, maybe it’s just me, but while I like the way the weapon progression is set up, I see a lot of the attachments being useless (again).

    I need the red name tags to come back cuz man, there were so many times where I couldn’t tell if it was a friendly across or if it was an enemy.
    Just this entire video had all of my minor issues talked about. The streaks too, felt sooo long, I always use low kill support streaks to be a team player but man. There were so many times where I felt like I was waiting for my gun to come back.

    I commented on your last video about enemy nametags and the blue dots over teammates' heads. The blue dots are visible well beyond 2-3 walls and normally confused me when combined with the lack of enemy nametags. I often mistook an enemy for a friendly when the dot(s) lined up perfectly over the enemy and got killed...a lot. There needs to be some sort of limitation, i.e. blue dots only visible through one wall.

    Visibility Issue - not sure if others had problems with Killstreak explosion dust being crazy or lingering too long. And Gas Grenade smoke would be less thick for enemies than on my view when used, unless it's killcam trickery.

    A small little thing I would add is that there are multiple surfaces in this game that seem like you can mantle them but you can't. The saving grace of MW2019's maps and the verdansk map were that any surface that you think you can mantle you could, but MWII seems to have the same problem again as all the maps since then, times where you fail to mantle and it completely breaks immersion or even worse gets you killed because the game says you can't be creative with your jump routes.

    One thing that no one seems to mention nowdays in regards to visibility is the tiny scopes in modern cod games. If you compare to older titles the scopes were much larger. Which made it easier to see and track your targets etc. There isn´t really any gameplay reason I can think off why they are so small nowdays.

      They do it for "realism". Scopes irl are rather small. Im not excusing it. It could be that bigger scopes and sights are more fun for the game in the end.

      @@pricklycats Pretty sure the FOV does not affect the size of your scope/red dot. At least not in a big way.
      And yeah, I also think due to "realism". Which is a terrible reason of course, especially in CoD. Gameplay > realism/visuals etc.

      Its the field of view, increasing your field of view makes your gun much smaller and the scope and everything. You can change your fov to affected off so when you zoom in you get normal fov

    One minor thing that o dislike is the menus, they were really difficult to navigate, especially w the perk package system, imo it would be way better if was just perk 1,2,3 and 4 like all other games, sometimes I just wanted to change one perk and I have to select the perk package a select again to edit it. And sometimes it didn't change the perk, or when I get in the match the perk package was one of the default ones, and the worst part for me is that I couldn't change the perks mid game, I had to change the whole package because for some reason it's not possible to edit the package mid game

    Give Ace a freaking medal for giving the best feedback. Ace is my favorite COD RUclipsr because of his guides, tricks and what not. It has made me a better player over the years. I also appreciate that Ace, as well as the community as a whole, would love to have the detailed stats of guns in the gunsmith. Despite the fact that Ace knows that the game covers the content, he would want it for the convenience for everyone. I’ll still go to Ace’s gun guides since he’ll have charts and comparisons and builds of guns and stats. Ace wants something good for the community knowing it might hurt some views on those videos. Great work Ace!

    Great video, Ace! Always a keen eye for attention to details that more casual/newer players would forget.
    I felt all of these issues during these weekends and hope to see them corrected, especially hitmarkers

    I want MW2 to have the yellow colored Xp pop ups like in MW2019 instead of the white/silver color in the beta. I also want them to have the same hitmarker sound like in mw2019.

    in addition to the fire selector mode being off, every semi-auto rifle I picked up said: "burst fire selected" or similar and then I'd expect a burst and get semi auto with no way to change to burst.

    Loving the point about the executions, I believe that it would greatly help prevent teammates from stealing yours if they only get an assist, and would get more people to want to use them (and buy them?) if they're guaranteed a kill. The way it is rn, I'm getting pissed with how many times I'd get the drop on an enemy and sneak up behind them, only to get my flashy animation AND kill taken away. Hell, I'd even settle for getting just an assist if a teammate stole your execution kill.

    It’s kinda frustrating when you get killed by an enemy because you teammates names tag/ blue dot is overlayed on top of them. This happen so many times to me in the 2nd week of the beta.
    What is beyond comprehension is the fact that this is not a new problem, we have been here before in previous CODs and yet it doesn’t seem the lesson has been learned. It’s a very easy fix to put enemy name tags on and this problem goes away……again

    2:39 This is a real issue. I died to this so many times in less than 2 days of open BETA. If IW want the authentic route, then friendly blue dot should not appear through walls.

    I like that a lot of your feedback is about giving the player MORE choice. These game developers don't seem to consider giving options very often when they make changes. Like the toggle for score/kill streaks is great. Give more choice so that we can decide what we like best, instead of just making wholesale changes and then forcing everyone to deal with them. Keep up the good work.

    I don’t mind the changes to the minimap and UAV so much. The 3D audio is perfectly accurate enough to tell you where nearby enemies are and it makes gunfights more engaging than just looking for the red dot on your minimap. This has to be an intentional change by the devs, not an oversight

      Accurate? For directions yes, but volume for distance wise no. Plus the muffling is lazy that no matter how thick or how many layers of wall between they all sounds the same. The audible range being too long that make everyone having phobia preaiming every angle and fears to move

      This makes gunfights less engaging as you can just pre-fire everyone removing the gunfight and making it target practice.

      @@Dragoonsoul7878 I think they made the changes to encourage players to not be at a full sprint all the time. I personally found myself walking and holding angles a lot more than I ever did in MW2019 and it definitely adds a tactical layer to the combat loop

    Nameplates is a big one, not only for making it easier to identify enemies but to be more accessible to people with vision impairment I now a few that are very sad to see them go since they relied heavily on them.

    I feel like the spectating helmet cam was also a balance choice. When you're spectating you can't even see who is friendly and who isn't. They probably didn't want spectators to make call-outs for the person playing, and helmet cam limits fov for the spectator a bit more.

    Thank you for bringing up the name tags. Can't tell you how many times i saw a blue name tag hovering above an enemy's head and didn't even bother to shoot, only to find out it was my teammate who is literally across map behind buildings.

    They should create different modes inside the game as playlists, a throwback classic mw2 experience with its own arcadey barebones mechanics and one with “their new changed experience” which involves their current tactically mechanics… just my opinion to resolve everyone’s issues.. I believe this would really revive the CoD series

    I agree with everything you said, especially the spectator cams as I play a LOT of SnD. I have a few things I'd like to see changing to this mode before launch:
    Right now you can't view someone's scope while they're zoomed in on a sniper. It takes so much fun out of spectating, especially when playing with friends.
    Secondly is how much time it takes to swap between spectator views. It seems to have only gotten worse from mw19. I often can't cycle to my other duo in time before a round ends.
    Lastly is how the sides switch every 3 rounds instead of every 2 like it was in mw19 and cold war. Little thing I know but it's another unnecessary change they made in my opinion.

    I didn't see in the class creator a level requirement to unlock stuff. Really nice to have so you know how much more effort you need to put into a gun before you get what you think is going to improve it. That and it doesn't show you the stat increase it'll provide once it's unlocked. It's almost like its wagging it's finger at you because you want to look ahead to how you want to build your gun.

    Having the gun stats back would be a big plus since there are some attachments that do the same thing and don't clearly say how they're different.
    A small thing I would want to be updated as well would be the enemy dot size on the compass, during the beta it was always difficult to tell which was closer or farther.

    I can't tell you how many times I died because I didn't even realize the figure in front of me was an enemy, because there was a blue dot right there, but it was a teammate on the other side of the map

    Yeah, all the select fire guns had a bug where semi-auto would say 'burst fire' and show 3 bullets whereas full auto showed 1

    In Invasion or Ground War the audio hit markers were severely delayed while the visual hit marker was instantaneous. It made it hard to realize soon enough if you did any damage or not and know whether a follow up shot might be in order. So I would have to really focus on the center of the screen to see if the tiny little crosshairs pulsed or not which detracted from my awareness of what was going on on the rest of the screen. Plus, it was really off-putting for those markers to be out of synch.

    1 thing that definitely needs to be changed if they keep perk charging is carrying perk progression across classes. Idk if it was a bug or not but I would have my 4th perk switch classes and then not have a 4th.

    I think stuns and flashed could be toned down a bit and/or battle hardened should be buffed. It felt like battle hardened didn´t do much to counter flashes and stuns tbh..

    2:00 you can change the screen shake in the settings (for PC only) to the lowest setting and it makes a big difference

    Hey don't forget about refilling your Ammo from the ammo cache bins. it's has to "Cool off" before you can get anymore rounds....damn that's wild as hell lol.

    Duuuuuuude I got a chopper gunner on Breenbergh Hotel and was FUUUUUUMING when I didn’t get a single kill with it. I was just hovering in a spot with terrible sight lines to outdoor areas lol. I really hope they change that. As it is, it’s literally useless on certain maps

    Agree with everything. Some kind of map voting would be good and one of my biggest concerns after having 2 bad maps and 2 good in the beta. Backing out of at least 5 bad maps in 2019 was frustrating and wasted a ton of time.

    The play of the game bug also was and still is present in MW 2019. It seems like it’s really difficult for them to fix, if it’s taken them 3+ years to fix.

    Long as they keep sbmm low reduce footsteps as well as make all play style and guns balanced it'll be a fun game but we know that's too much to ask for them as well they bringing in "legendary" cosmetic guns to the game. But the main thing everyone wants is sbmm to be similar to bo2 sbmm

    Your correct about the bettys, I crawled onto a few domination points where a player on the other team was regularly using bettys on the flags, definitely get ~50% damage still, even prone

      I liked it a lot. Very smooth and fluid. However in order to alleviate corner jumping and bunny hopping they could certainly tweak it a bit and improve on that movement.

    I feel like some of the movement felt slow or sluggish. Going prone, both from standing and being crouched, felt quite slow to me. The same for standing up from a prone position. I’d like to see a small speed increase to this, at least for lighter weapons.

    Something I noticed is when reloading the Lachman 5.56 with the clear mags, you're actually loading an empty mag until your ammo count changes to "30" and then the bullets magically appear in the clip

    Are we forgetting back in 2019 Joe Cecot said map voting doesn't make sense because people leave when they don't get the map they want? It's like we do that anyway when Piccadilly comes up. These are the same people making this game so yeah... these things aren't changing.

    I think another thing they need to address is clarity on the weapon unlock system. Just a little thing added to the guns saying “unlocked at weapon lvl 15 with this gun” or something like that might help people out who first come into it and get confused

    Chopper gunner not moving was definitely a bug. If you looked up at it from the ground, it was completely frozen; even when it is destroyed it still doesn't move.

    I like the idea of toggling the hel.et cams. I liked them (for the most part) but not all the time. It also looks very odd with characters that had visible hair because it wouldn't move. Still felt off on characters with helmets. Maybe adding a bit of screen shake when running would help?

    2:24 Somewhat related to nameplates, playing Ground War on the last full day of the beta, I would occasionally see red circles appear over enemies' heads for a couple frames. It would happen at random and even through walls. The few times I saw it happen, I would be facing an enemy flag and it would be near my crosshair. I know for certain it accurately marked enemies since I would usually see them come around the corner within a second or two of the circle disappearing, once almost immediately after. It wasn't the red diamond of enemies being pinged or spotted and it was extremely inconsistent, almost like it only appeared for the few frames after an enemy spawned.

    While playing the beta I had no idea what perks I had unless I spawned in and it told me I had all of them. The easiest way to indicate where your perks are in their charge status is to display all of your perks on screen and gray out perks that you do not have with a pie chart or ring or bar slowly charging up, then the perk is colored in when you have it active.

      The perks literally are displayed in middle lower part of your screen at all times. I play on PC and I didn't tweak settings for this, it automatically did it.

    I miss being able to drop an airstrike without using a laser pen. I find it really kills your flow when your in the heat of it. Being able to pull out your map and pick your spot without having to expose yourself while your moving round the map was extremely satisfying. Especially if you nailed the airstrike location. The old way also required some form of map/spawn knowledge, rather than just point and click. The little things.

    The weird "load next player" thingy let you see unintended angles in real time works like a screen cheat and that's game breaker in no respawn modes.
    Also the revive system, most of the time you fight with the interaction key picking up your teammates' guns over and over.

    Another issue is the delay for lethal streaks to hit their target, the SAE especially seemed to take forever to actually strike the positions you mark, sure it gives you a radar ping but after that it's a shot in the dark as to whether the player will even be close to their ping by the time the streak hits

    Another thing with last stand is if you down and finish them you still get no progression to streaks. So basically get a 6 man party all running last stand and the other team can't even get streaks.

    Post game stats, I didn’t see an option to pull those back up between matches. It would display after a match was over but often it would only flash for a couple seconds until the next lobby was ready to load. Then I would go to a loading screen. In the past I could pull up the stats again but not in the Beta.

    Ace, I really enjoy your videos and your unbiased information, but as a consumer I'm definitely going to wait to see if they change footstep audio and the mini map. I barely got to level 10 in beta, and the pacing was just too slow for me, hard to see enemies, and quite a few graphical glitches on XsX. Hopefully by the time it goes on sale for 20-30% they will fix all these issues

    I believe very strongly that the reason there are no enemy name tags is because the devs cant fix a bug to where the name tags are showing through walls and other situations that you shouldnt see them.

    I forgot to add my complaints with final stand in the survey they sent out. They really need to increase the timer on self revive or force their team to revive. Players using this were annoying as hell. You finally get that enemy off their headglitch and they self revive before you can push up to their cover to kill them.

    On PC you can change your walk speed below 25 and then your footsteps are silent 👍🏻

    I would improve the strong arm perk to create more loadout options for people. Underbarrel grenade lauchers schould have trajectory too with this perk active and same case with some lauchers like thumper or STRELA , if they add them in upcomming full version of the game.

    I was using spotter and when I was trying to hack equipment, my character couldn’t move nor couldn’t hack.. I really hope they don’t miss that
