Base version of a perk right away and charging up a pro version of the same perk is a great fix for this system without removing it completely. Great idea!

It is removing the system. Making a timer that goes down by score is way easier than rebalancing all the perks to fit a secondary effect or invent new features that are worth fighting for

    • @madzaisa
      @madzaisa 2 года назад +17

IMO, they won't do that, because it feels like the whole point of the system is to keep some things viable at least partially though match - like Ghost hard-countering UAV, making them quite useless for casual player who can't read map, spawn and other "pro things". Especially with conjunction of current MW2 minimap. There is absolutely an issue with possible snowballing, as ACE said, but maybe they are banking on their matchmaking system to be "fair".

The pro perk idea you mentioned actually makes this style of system something I would love to see for this game and every future call of duty game going forward. See, one of the main reasons why pro perks were removed in the first place is A. They were very difficult to balance, B. It hurt new players because they had to do all these challenges to unlock pro perks whereas every other player already had them and were using the pro perks against them while they were trying to earn theirs. This however, will completely eliminate that issue because new players will have the pro perks as well they just have to earn them during the match just like everyone else. And the balance issue is mitigated by the pro versions of the perks not being there all game and having to be earned.

    • @papasivir4241

@Chandler Russell well, most people back in the day, found it annoying to have to deal with other people using the pro perks while they were trying to do the challenges. Not even necessarily something I had a problem with but the community as a large did.

I hard disagree with this take. I like that this new system allows some of the more powerful perks to be in the game. Always having to pick Ghost because it’s the best perk in the game is boring, and this allowed them to create other perks that people care about, while not having to worry about them dominating a whole game, but enabling more unique playstyles near the end. Also, what’s wrong with snowballing? That’s literally what killstreaks have done since CoD 4, if you do good early in the game, you SHOULD have an advantage, and this allows for that. Additionally it pushes everyone to play a bit less campy in the early game because if you don’t get out there and kill, you will be setting yourself behind everyone. I think this systems solves a lot more than you’re giving it credit for, and this video comes off as “I want Ghost from the start like every other call of duty game in existence because I hate innovation or change in a Call of Duty game”.

and once again, that UAV issue is made far worse by the removal of the classic minimap, because now, you have a UAV showing all enemies every couple of seconds and they have 0 idea where anyone in the match is. UAV's are so strong in a game where you have no info on enemies whereabouts so all of these changes they've made with 2019 and now MWII, are kinda destroying the Call of Duty balance that was built up over so many years of learning, they're trying to unlearn what works and what doesn't and it's very weird, idk how they don't realize what they're doing with these changes.

So if you were running up to them on their left they would hear footsteps from their right, or if you were running up from behind them they’d hear footsteps from the front of them.
It’d be totally broken but I think it’d be hilarious on kill cams to see someone flick the opposite direction of where you coming from thinking they got the drop on you and it would also balance out the increased footstep audio to the point where it’s like “yeah footsteps are louder but you can’t always trust them”

Anyways it’s dumb that they seem to have added “powerful” perks into the ultimate list without thinking about balancing them. Ghost working all the time instead of moving? Can’t wait for the campers to show halfway in the match. Don’t forget the fact that IW’s so stubborn that they’ve straight up moved the old minimap mechanics to an ultimate perk instead of recognizing they’re wrong.

In modes like Domination and CTF you need to defend objectives, so you end up waiting near them.
Ghost is the actual counter to camping, you can camp, take down UAVs, and have team wide Ghost. If Ghost requires movement like you want... then if someone throws up a UAV you can't approach them with Ghost or they hear you.
Footstep audio without a reasonable counter is why camping works.

I Agree with everything 100% except . 6:11 This part makes little sense if you just listen to it out loud. You're saying a player who earned mutiple kills should have the reward of earning that kill streak stripped away by a losing player doing nothing but swaping to a perk set up? Mulit kills is the same effort and value of pressing 2 buttons and swaping a perk set. I think you're very wrong on that.

Instead the devs seems to be entirely obsessed with desperately trying to attract new players, at the expense of their most loyal customers. They also fail to realize that, people willing to buy the game annually and spend hundreds or thousands of hours each year playing it, is a rather limited market when there's isn't world wide lockdowns due to a pandemic!

Despite what he says, no one is getting killed just because of a uav. All a uav does is give a location, and you know that your opponent has your location and is heading towards you so use that information to your advantage. Once they get to you, they still have to shoot at you like normal regardless of uav so it really doesn't help them much other than finding you since it doesn't magically help their gun handling. You have just as much a chance to kill them as they do you. And I wish he wouldn't act like his idea is a benefit to everyone cause it's not. It would completely ruin my playstyle at launch since I plan to use stuff like heartbeat sensors and thermals at launch and would switch over to other stuff as the match goes on. Also, I'd much rather earn a entire new perk over time(seriously, stop using the word charge incorrectly) instead of just getting some shitty new part to a perk I already have. This perk system ensures that stuff like thermals, heartbeat sensors, spotter scops, ai controlled killsteaks, and even the mini map actually get some use. In past cods, I completely stopped using the mini map since almost everyone had ghost and cold-blooded half the time which just made it useless, and know thanks to this system I have finally started using it again since I know it will actually work early game, even though it doesn't guarantee me a kill. It is stupid to make anti killstreak perks immediately available since they just make someone's hard-earned kill streak entirely useless and defeats the purpose of them existing. Example, in vanguard, I've gotten killstreaks that require me to aim them, but when I try to use them, I can't see a single enemy on the map cause everyone is running cold-blooded. And this isn't a one off thing, it's been like that in every cod I've played that had cold-blooded.

Best case scenario, if the perk-charge-up mechanic sticks, is what you described with the base perk/pro-perk charge-up mechanic. For the exact reasons you’ve specified in this video. In past games I’ve varied from a 1.2 KD to a 2 KD depending on the title. The games are basically a race now for the first team to get a UAV. It’s frustrating and in the three times I’ve played the beta this weekend I’ve turned it off within 3 games. My flanking play style doesn’t exist until late in games when I get ghost. The amount of times I’ve ran down an obvious flank route this weekend just to find someone waiting for me in a corner or on a head glitch at the other end was insane. With the other equipment now to spot people (like the added cameras) I don’t know why Ghost has been gated off to the last part of games. As long as its the ghost version where you have to be moving I don’t see an issue with it. No ghost and the addition of footsteps you could track an ant by, it just gives corner campers more incentive to never move. Before adding the bouncing Betty’s and claymores to secure their tents.

bUt InFiNiTy WarD iz ZaVinG CoD...
IW is extraordinary with the engine. No CoD can top that, but with MP fundamentals, they are incredibly off with the community. Infinity Ward protects noobs, that's why we have those types of "great decisions".
I totally stand with you Ace, even the Pro Perk idea is amazing if they insist having charge perk rates.
No red dots, no ninja as a perk, no good perk system, are deal breaking for me.

I can say with confidence this entire system is done to make SBMM more strict without altering SBMM.
Think about it, the SBMM should in theory keep snowballing from happening. Thus this new system exists to promote snowballing. This ends up creating an second layer. On one side if you do inch ahead it softens how bad your match will be if your team has UAVs and their perks ahead of time, while on the other dropping down is now really hard.
This isn't for pros, casuals, or anyone. It is to make SBMM provide even closer matches for their retention based system at the expense of enjoyment for everyone.

So far love this game however. The biggest problem in this game. Is a mixture of a few things Mashed together. Because of lack of traditional mimi map. Traditional perk system. And a footstep sound nerf. It's made the uav by far the best scorestreak in the game. And it's very easy to earn. So there is constant uav spam. You can't hide from it until you earn ghost. Which is an ultimate perk. (if you even have it selected) That takes up to 4 mins ( half the game) for a good player and 8 mins at default for an average player. This also makes ghost a crunch perk. Something call of duty said they were moving away from years ago. People camp in corners waiting for you to move because they can hear you a mile away. So do you see how all these things combined are actually game breaking? Easy fixes. The return of a traditional mini map with red dots. Lower the overall audio level of footsteps across the board. Give us a ninja perk that reduces sound. Not totally silent. Keep dead silence field upgrade. But do it like vanguard and make it additionally grant you ghost while you have it activated. Make the ghost park only active while you moving. And move it to the park 1 basic perk slot. All problems fixed
