I think its hilarious they defended Dead silence being a field upgrade by saying "it makes combat more predictable" but then chose a squad spawn system which makes the entire game unpredictable and chaotic all game.
Infinity Ward contradict themselves so much
The statement is contradictory even when you take it at face value. How is combat more predictable with a mechanic that's sometimes active and other times not, while the activation depends on when and if the player decides to use it? How is that more predictable than simply knowing a person would have DS equipped and you'd need to be extra careful at all times?
Don't try to look for consistency in IW's comments, you won't find any.
Their logic is impossible to follow.
Not only is it a field upgrade again, but it takes time to activate, and the enemies can hear beeps when you activate it
the spawns are great if you have basic ability to interpret the map. i played the last 4 days and had 1 single bad repeated spawn in the alley on the market map.
The fact that this man has to explain himself each feedback video because he might get backlash is ridiculous, MOST OF US should know that Ace cares about the state of COD. Keep doing your thing bro🔥🙌🏾
COD is definitely having an identity crisis.. Are we kicking out the OGs by lowering skill gap as much as possible or they just don't care anymore and only want money?
Fr man he shouldn’t even care tbh mostly those fanboys that think infinity ward can do no wrong I said it before they could release the most bare bones mp and wz game and most these content creators will convince themselves to love it ace does keep it real
People just got soft.
not really ridiculous as it's impossible to please everyone. it's pretty normal to give an opinion and then explain why.
What makes me sick is that Infinity Ward does not care at all about feedback. This man is taking time to provide SOLID FEEDBACK not personal wishlist or preferences, and Infinity Ward is like mmmm nah bruh, kamping is gud!
Hahaha your funny, he's a sell out has been for ages payed by the company to prompt it an not diss it in any way like the old ace would have he's filtered asf now.
Older cods used to have an awareness perk that would make footsteps louder, this would mean you could have a ninja perk in the game with something to counteract if you want
Now it's just built in like marathon lol
Yes this is the perfect balance but they know that and just don’t want to use it
@@ANDREDITZEL i wish they woulda kept the original perk system and add some of the perks most people will use in the same slot so they will have to pick and choose which one
People keep talking about dead silence, but no one seems to be talking about the "walk speed" setting which allows you to raise or lower your base walk speed and it says in there that a walk speed below 25 significantly quiets your footsteps plus you can actually bind a separate key that will engage slow walk mode so you could leave your base walk speed fast and have a key that gives you dead silence on demand just with the trade off of walking a little slower. This is actually better imo because you don't have to take up a perk slot.
@@nastynick7125 it’s crazy how Vangaurd added ninja after beta feed back but it won’t be added for MW2.
The crazy thing is, despite all of the glaring issues that you highlighted (which I agree with), I would basically overlook all of them if they eliminated the current SBMM system.
Best quote about red dots on the map around 15:00, " They claimed they wanted consequences for rushers moving around the map, but where are the consequences for staying still and listening to footsteps?" There are none, there's consequences for one playstyle, but not the other.
because this game is supposed to be more tactical and less ape sht mode. and i agree with it make it more cs like
@@syckray Or just go play CS, or rainbow 6, or any of the other games that are that playstyle. Leave COD the way it was. At least make it balanced for all playstyles like they claim.
Red dots appear on the compass (top of the screen) an alternative to the mini map when someone is shooting
@@xkingz_terrorz9748 you say that like that’s a good thing
@@erdaddy5845 there are countless cods with that playstyle, stay with cold war and Vangard, I didn't get those and stayed with MW19, you don't HAVE TO buy the next cod
You'll probably mention it in the next video, but I really hope we get detailed stats for guns and attachments in the final release. It so confusing having like 6 different "stats" that mention recoil, and all of them affect the "recoil control" bar so you never know what exactly any attachment does. And the damage, too. The bar is always about 2/3 full, so you can't know how much actual damage a gun does unless you test it
Totally agree with the amount of attachments and combination of weapons we need a moor methodical way too gun build
@Dooms David Machine yeah, some barrels too. Like, a lightweight barrel decreases ADS time, that's fine. Another lightweight barrel increases movement speed but not ads time. Like, why? If it's lightweight it should do both, wtf?
@@lt9948 the amount of attachments isn't going to be a problem I think: a lot of them are just going to be basically the same attachment but with different aesthetic.
@Dooms David Machine yes thank you I was wondering that last night. Like with. A certain ammo type. Said increased bullet velocity then right after said negative damage range. I literally sat there for 2 minutes thinking if what I saw was correct and then thinking bullet velocity makes bullet faster that would increase damage vs slower bullet less damage?
@@michaelsznytzer5443 that's the armor piercing I think. Maybe there is some logic to it: it actually goes faster to penetrate armor cause it's lighter, but it's also made of a harder material so it doesn't expand and so does less damage. It's still a bit confusing, but it kinda makes sense
Regarding the perks and footsteps. I also think you could balance it (rock paper scissors) by having a perk that amplifies footstep audio which also shares the same slot as ghost. That way you choose between hearing people run (if they have ninja) or staying off the radar.
ruclips.net/video/baMAqDcpMBk/видео.html
All 3 should be in the same slot imo
@@TheNubDutchman Yep, I'd be fine with that if that's the way they went.
@@TheNubDutchman what about Bird’s Eye? That might not get used as much anymore. It’s a cool/neat perk. I rate it. But if it was in a different category, it might be too powerful.
They want the loud footstep audio to be a central part of the game. They're never adding in a DS/Ninja perk. It goes against what the game was designed to be.
I pretty much agree with everything you said. Also, they made the perfect perk system in Ghosts, I wish they would bring it back. Just imagine that with the Gunsmith. So much customization.
No. Pick 10 is the best
This and have birds eye at least counter ghost. But I agree. I don’t mind this perk system but ghosts had the best one
Just have pick 10 every yr it's the beat system and u can do so many different things and variety. Every other system is inferior
Just to add a comment: one of the little bit picky things that could be mentioned is that with the battle rifles (Ftac and Lachman762) they just need to switch the fire selector (semi/full auto) to display properly.
The recoil is absurd too.
@@patrickbecker2788 fire a g3 full auto and you’ll see its not that easy
@@bwmanarific I’ve fired plenty of full autos. I get what you’re saying. In the game it’s difficult to play against SMGs. Will just be painful to unlock guns.
Glad I’m not the only one that noticed, it’s the first time I’ve seen anyone comment on this,”.
Dude I thought I was the ONLY one who noticed the error. I thought it was on semi auto and I died because it was on single fire but the picture said other wise.
I think if they allow us to have perks at the start of matches they should scrap last stand all together. That will get very annoying very fast.
Fax I died of laughter when I saw someone actually go into last stand. I can’t believe they brought that thing back
Nice to see you here
@@undeaddragon0977 I honestly dont get the point of it, like you know they arent dead so maybe 1/100 times you dont get insta finsished. What a useless perk
@@sackywacky it actually is a viable perk in ground war or one life modes, particularly SnD.
@@sackywacky The funny thing is a lot of the time the enemies will just leave you there and assume they killed you xD
Also seems like map design is a lot more focused around being indoors rather than outside. Makes the better killstreaks less fun while adding to the glaring issues of slower/campier play styles
Yeah dude bs
You’ve played 3 maps my guy😂
I had the same experience. First weekend was pretty damn fun. Second weekend I quit 6v6 and moved to Groundwar. The museum map has what seems like hollow wood floors and the footsteps are insane. The SBMM definitely felt way more strict. I had a much less relaxing time around this weekend.
Museum is just also way too big for 6v6 in my opinion. Especially with squad spawns there’s no direction, everyone is just running around hoping to find someone or just contesting that walkway in the middle of the map because at least there’s people there.
@@MushToast_ agreed
I really enjoyed the first weekend too. It was really full of action. The second weekend was already full of campers. It's incredible how it changed/ruined the game. I mean ffs, it's the beta, move, run around, you have nothing to loose. I think they should find a system where campers are all put in lobbies together. Let them all sit in their corners together, with their claymore and shotguns and get zero kills because no one fucking moves.
thats code for "people got better by the 2nd week so i had no fun when i kept dying"
@@SmoovyNovaFan Not code for anything
The only way I see myself playing the multiplayer in this game is to confine myself to Hardpoint, and other game modes that force you to constantly move around the map. Domination is annoying when your team refuses to push the objective and camps in spawn.
My problem with dom is there’s always a fool trying to cap every flag and flipping sides.
Just don't buy it man, there are literally hundreds of actually enjoyable and incredible games that deserve your time and money more than this franchise. I'm done with CoD ever since Vanguard and I've been having the time of my life playing a huge backlog of great games and actually having fun.
@@metaling88 I agree I’ve already decided to give up on CoD. They’re basically riding off the tail end of what brought the game it’s glory. They don’t care!!
@@metaling88 honestly shatterline is my backup game, i'll still buy this and im sort of mid with it but who knows.
@@Sun-Warrior1911
Play team fortress 2. Great community even if updates are scarce, game is basically "finished" now
Great video and I agree with most everything you mentioned. One thing I wish they would address/consider is enemy nameplates. I spend half the match shooting at and getting shot by my teammates because you can't tell who is who.
Yuuuuuup
I am able to see ally nameplates. Blue names and all. Just not enemies. Sounds like your teammates are just dumb.
I thought I was the only one
More so they need to show the friendly nameplates more. Half the time they don’t appear til like 2 or 3 seconds after you’ve aimed at someone
maybe work on team mate nameplates but I love no enemy nameplates, for too long they have giving people cheesy kills. I have had no problems with enemies not having them , use the radar, get familiar with what the teams skins are, and shoot first and think later when you see someone flash past you, even with nameplates I still did that 😂
Thanks for articulating this so well. I felt the same way on pretty much every issue you raised. Hopefully IW listens.
One more point, that ties into visibility in gunfights, is the amount of visual recoil. My weapon wiggles all over the place but not controllable recoil, to me it felt like purely visual wiggle. This made it so frustrating in long range gunfights
YESS
I think this is a very good change, you should really not be able to spray full-auto at long range. It forces you to make calculated bursts just as you would in real life
@@KekusMagnus - or switch to semi-auto
1000% agreed with everything you said man. Trade offs are really what is missing. COD 4 had huge trade offs when it came to gun attachments and perks. If you wanted to run silent, then your gun is going to have less range and power. Idk, here's hoping they listen to you (or any of us) 🍻
Suppressors don't decrease range in real life. They actually make guns more accurate and don't generally reduce muzzle velocity. Decreasing range was always dumb for suppressors and I'm glad they stopped doing it.
@@anthonyefimoff7228 And in real life you can't full auto with a suppressor mag after mag without it overheating, but in COD you can. COD isn't meant to be Tarkov, and because this is a video game things have to be done for balance over realism.
@@austen8718 they are building more towards a mil sim, you don’t run and gun in a mil sim, you hold positions and push with your team.
@@Excitegaming0 LMAO. Your mil sim will be infested with otakus, movie and cartoon characters, clowns and beings from another dimension by the third month. What a joke.
@@anthonyefimoff7228 That's not the point. The point is that Cod used to be a game of tradeoffs in your loadouts. That's one of the things that gave Cod its identity.
Suppressors used to be a key part in that tradeoff system. Now there's little incentive to use them.
The footsteps were adjusted like 6 times in MW2019, but were never lowered. Only lowered when crouch walking or ads walking, also reduced volume through surfaces/walls. The general footstep volume stayed the same
Lowering them through walls is effectively lowering them in general. Footsteps stop being useful when you have line of sight, because if you have line of sight they should just be dead by now.
One thing I find interesting is I never heard footsteps during my beta matches because I can't use headphones nor turn up my volume high enough to hear anything. So it was like everyone else had a perma-dead-silence while they heard me loud and clear. Maybe that's why I'm .2 - .5 K/D...
Wich is fine. The general footstep audio is not the problem. That you can hear them trough 2 or 3 Walls like they running around with Wooden Shoes is the problem. They need to reduce the audio for situations like that, the general footstep audio is actually fine.
@@Sky_Pie try and keep your gun around center of mass when coming round a corner. Its basically the reason i went negative only a few times during the beta. Cause i agree.. they need to SERIOUSLY nerf the "sound through walls" shit of footsteps
And they will no doubt to the same with this game lol
Extensive feedback after a fun but also frustrating Weekend 2 beta (also posted on the reddit feedback thread).
The removal of the respawn delay / fly in camera in Team Deathmatch was a great change that really benefitted the pacing of the gamemode. I would like to see this change implemented to all core gamemodes like Domination. The removal made TDM better paced than Domination which actually really disappointing considering it has actual objectives. I'm able to get more kills and action in TDM than in Domination simply because you (and other players) can get back faster into the action.
Having loud footstep audio is not a problem. Having loud unrealisticaly loud footstep audio is. Right now, footsteps are so loud (even after the weekend 2 changes) that when I'm slowly trying to approach an opponent and I'm not walking beloew 25% it still sounds like I'm stomping the ground. It's absolutely shocking how loud it sounded in the enemy's killcam when I tried to sneak up to him. Having footsteps this loud and perk to at least reduce the loudness is just hurting the game's potential and gameplay pace a lot. It's so loud that you are basically being punished if you aren't using your headset and really focusing on them. Dead Silence as a field upgrade is not only temporary, it also got nerfed to the point it isn't even fully silent anymore. Instead of adressing the reason why Dead Silence became such a crutch in MW2019, you guys decided to nerf it. Please nerf the general footstep audio or introduce a Ninja perk that at least reduces the loudness so rushers aren't being punished for everything they do while campers / sentinals are being fully rewarded for their playstyle.
The endless discussion of no red dots on the mini map... This isn't the biggest gripe I have in the game except for the fact that this is another layer of punishment towards players who don't want to use headsets all the time or just want to have some fun games with some people around them. It's not only having an effect on gameplay pacing, but also on the accessiblity of the game. On top of that, there are plenty of attachments and ways (like a Counter UAV) to prevent red dots being visible on the mini map. Right now, it feels more like a protection of players who can't strategize around unsupressed gun fire and/or aren't moving to prevent the red dots from giving away their location.
Why is there no map voting? What was wrong with a feature that enabled players to choose what map they want to play next? A major flaw of not having any veto or voting system in MW2019 was the fact that it felt like I was playing the same maps in the same rotation over and over again. It actually hurt the variety instead of offering choice. Treyarch brought it back in Black Ops Cold War and I don't remember anyone complaining about having the option to choose your map. This is core feature of Call of Duty that just got robbed from us.
The perk system in MWII just doesn't cut it and will only cause frustration over time. Not only does it put players who join late in a disadvantage (despite the timer, it still does not equal the earned score), it also adds nothing to the experience except for a delay in utilizing your playstyle and setup. Looking at the general balancing of the perks, it seems like a perfect fit to just remove the timers and make it a 4 perk system. I think this would work very well, removes unecessary delays and complexity and would help to better balance a match in general.
The spawn system in MWII is the same squad based spawn system as MW2019. This sadly does not work very well for the overall predictability of a multiplayer match. People are spawning at random locations that could signifcantly impact the overall map control and flow. It also brings a lot more faulty spawns.
The user interface in general is probably the worst we've ever had. When I started the game for the first time I had to SEARCH to open the actual game. On top of that, it has become extremely difficult to find and invite friends. It's not designed for MnK and controller users at all and feels like a mobile UI. We have to go through so many clicks to reach the area we want to reach. This is a major downgrade.
A small but frustrating part of the game is the lack of deaths on the scoreboard for all modes. We are playing a shooter game were people kill and get killed. It should be a no brainer to have this information available to you. Instead it got removed yet again, just like you guys did in MW2019. I don't remember anyone asking for this to be removed nor did I see anyone complain about it being visible. Why would you take information away from the player about their performance? Cold War had it and it worked just fine for everyone. If it's against toxicity, there are plenty of tools available to prevent it. Please stop sugar coating everyone to make them feel good. If only, this adds more frustration that positive feelings.
Matchmaking also felt very heavy on the skill selection. Playing against the same level of skill over and over again gets very exhausting. There is no room for a variety of players being mixed together to offer a fun and different experience every match. It's all the same type of matches every single game with people using the same loadouts every single time. This has been proven over the last couple of years were SBMM was heavily present. I don't expect changes for this, but it is not a good system to create a fun and healthy game were people are sometimes challenged by higher skilled players or are sometimes surprised by a more easy going game.
Solid well-articulated feedback! It's a shame IW doesn't seem interested in making these important changes, instead they just seem to be interested in developing a game that feels like a copy cat of other popular FPS games. And because this is a 2 year game, it's frustrating to know that if I want my call of duty fix, I need to go back to BOCW in what will be its 3rd and 4th years.
Your review is spot on. Hopefully they listen to the feedback. This game has potential and I hope they don't screw it up again.
Fat chance. They go off of internal data that caters to the lowest skilled players to squeeze out the most money.
don't buy the game day1 then and don;t support content creator who criticise it yet buy it day1. You vote with your wallet. All feedback IW cares about is sales numbers.
Considering the game is only a month away I think it’s too late to see any improvements upon release. They ask for feedback but still won’t address or even acknowledge the SBMM that the community has been complaining about for the past 3 years.
Being able to hear MY OWN footsteps is a major problem to me. This punishes people who push even more. I'm so loud that I can't hear other people moving. So I have to stop and sit still. This is creating a very slow play style.
I think enemy footsteps ought to sound slightly different so you can differentiate between your team and enemy. Maybe a slight metallic jangle sound mixed in.
@@grrinc yeah I'm fine with that. They have made it clear they aren't going to lower foot step audio. So I at least want to be able to move without me hearing my own steps like i am stomping in Iron boots.
makes me feel like i’m losing my mind lmao
@@vMurdered also, your own steps seem to sound slightly behind you. Very off putting
I don't mind my loud footsteps. For me it gave me a reference point on what exactly I am walking on. Besides its not that slow, if you think it is "very slow" play some Ultrakill for 50 hours and jump back to here. Then talk to me about how slow a game is.
Thanks Ace. I’ve been playing COD since COD4 and for the first time ever I canceled my preorder. I’m old and washed up. I don’t have the aim to challenge a mounted sentinel on a head glitch. The only play style that works for me is going full stealth with an smg and trying to flank and getting up close and personal. All of the changes they’ve made have practically completely eliminated that play style.
I’ve never felt so lost and helpless in a COD before where I didn’t have any way to counter. I simply didn’t have fun playing the beta being restricted to one kind of play style.
It just sucks because I wanted to love this game and get deep into it and go for the mastery camos. This game has so much potential and could easily be a great game, but the gameplay design decisions are holding it back. Everything that would need to change are all very simple changes!
At this point I’m going to wait until launch and see what the game is like and then I’ll decide if I want to buy it or not.
Can’t wait to see your channel grow even more with mw2 coming out very well deserved. Been watching you since mw2019 and have watched almost every video you drop just because of how well it’s put together each video, keep doing what you do best. Appreciate you

Agree with your major downside points 100%! Well articulated and hopefully the devs will take on board what you’ve laid out quite simply and with suggested changes. The “catering for all playing styles” schtick isn’t followed through in the game itself. Your changes bring the variety back. Keep up the great work. 🙌🏻
Kinda an concerned about this game because of what IW said to our feedback which is so stupid, i agree with his negative points as it gives details and examples from his experience.
Ace, you’re a loyal servant to the OG COD fans & community. 99% of us who watch your content couldn’t disagree with a word you’ve said in this video and in any you produce. Not all hero’s wear capes - I just wish you and the rest of us hardcore fans would get the reward in a game that at least caters to us and doesn’t do all it can to ruin our experience!
great review, glad someone pointed it how incredible the audio is technically
As a casual player I loved the game. Yea there are some things that I don’t like (mini map, red name tags missing, etc.) but overall I thought the game was well done and I enjoyed the beta. In any case, I can understand why a lot of people don’t like it. It’s impossible to please everyone all the time. If you like it buy it and play it, if you don’t, then don’t buy and play something else you like better. Either way have fun and God bless. Peace ✌🏻
The footsteps need a huge nerf... people aren't camping they are waiting... and it's absolutely annoying... because when they camp you expect them on the spots, when they wait they can be anywhere...
Camping is absolutely manageable, though in MW2022 it seems the peaker's advantage is lower, still it's alright when you are pre-aiming camping spots. Waiting in a random spot is unmanageable.
get gud LOL
@@eelyy212
Not everyone enjoys your slow, brain dead play style
We have similar pfp 🤘🏻
When I walk around with an lmg I like to pre-aim when I hear someone since the ads is so slow, I don’t think I can win if I run at him since lmg is so heavy. If they are fast, they can beat me.
Get good
100% Agreed with all points. I'm especially upset about the perk system and having no red dots on the mini map when shots are fired. Silencers have lost their cool factor for me and any usefulness they had.
Honestly I don't think the perk package is that bad. It's interesting having to earn them throughout the match, also makes people switch up their loadouts due to Ghost not being available from the jump.
I do agree that having no red dots on the mini map is a downgrade. Kinda makes silencers a bit useless (besides making your gunshots more quiet of course)
@@ardemisv497 Fair enough. I think the perk packages could work (although I'd prefer not) but need some serious restructuring to do so. As of right now the amount of time it takes to earn them feels redundant, and I don't know if the perks they've chosen to be earned are changing the feel of the game all that much.
Back in the days the silencer was balanced by having the option to chose only one attachment for your gun.
@@ardemisv497 It doesn’t switch up the load outs. It makes me not care what perks I have on my loadout.
I don't really mind the perk system but i prefer they don't change the way it used to be
In regard to the mini map and red dots for shooting, the best balance for using the suppressor as a crutch was to prevent you from using 4 other attachments in addition to the suppressor. Think needing the wildcard, primary gunfighter for even a third attachment. Or OG MW2 where park, Bling was needed for TWO attachments!
I agree with all your input. I’m an old school gamer. Been grinding COD since Mw2 and an aggressive rusher that always plays objective. My play style has been murdered. So hard to get people to help objectively and with these spawns and incredibly loud steps with no real counter, im just running around to get killed
Maybe stop running blindly around corners 🤷🏻♂️
I want to see how Capture the flag plays in this game since that game modes has to have traditional spawn system. Yes in capture the flag the spawns down flip but at least they are not squad spawns
As a big CTF lover I’m most worried about games ending in 0-0 ties because the best play style is to defend the flag and just listen to footsteps😅
Picture listening to a horse race lol
Yeah honestly I feel like it’s going to play horrible cause of squad spawns. Since to actually have a CTF game mode you’re supposed to spawn near your flag. This just takes that all away and especially since this game mode is apparently supposed to be one of the competitive game modes. Pretty sure we’re screwed.
This game drives me nuts not having enemy name plates, if they wanna keep the realistic dust and smoke that is everywhere in the game you have to have both. I can’t see shit.
Get good
@@spacedout4061 Get money.
It goes both ways. Nameplates would pop up without you even seeing the player. So now your not as easy to spot (less deaths) and the enemy is not easy to spot. Nameplates are a crutch. You will learn and adapt to the lack it. So much so that if it ever comes back you will hate it!!
@@jcaashby3 there's only so much you can adapt to. Like have you seen some of the roze skin clips from warzone? Literally impossible to see with the human eye
The game needs to focus more on visibility if they don't want nameplates. What is annoying now is going to become broken when some skin inevitably blends in better
Classic mw2 was perfect - you were obvious most of the time, and only hard to see if you were making a genuine effort, and never this level of impossible
It's not that they want to keep it realistic, it's that they want bad players to get away with hiding in dark corners/obscure places and you won't be able to pick them out on time before they delete you.
I love the footsteps actually, helps avoid those who want to flank you.
MW2 had loud footsteps too, good ol days.
Great video, once again, you are hitting the nail directly on the head.
This has A LOT of potential to be the best CoD for YEARS and also to ruin everyone's hopes and dreams.
Unfortunately, I think the latter will be true. I say that as a fan of MW19. IW absolutely destroyed the movement, ruined dead silence and botched the perk system.
@@Skrenja The way recoil feels is also a downgrade. Aiming feels so weird in general. Somehow, I have trouble adjusting for bullet drop and then hitting targets with snipers, when I had no trouble at all in MW2019.
I agree
@@Skrenja It's better than MW19 in every conceivable way, and MW19 was beating Cold War and Vanguard years after it's release. Safe to say MW22 will be doing just fine lol. Now more hardcore players will obviously be upset, but better the hardcore players be upset rather than the game being dead like Vanguard.
Dont know where you see that potential lol
I‘ll just say it and I mean it, man. Thank you for your work! The way you structure and prepare your content, as well as the quality of it. Just brilliant
Like you said they want play style the variety but are completely taking out the rushing play style, while camping has every advantage. If rushers get that quiet footstep and can move campers STILL have the advantage they are sitting still pre aiming while the rusher has to react. It's way more fun to rush and it makes 1 life game modes go to the clock every single time
I 100% agree with all your points once again Ace. Great video as always, and hopefully the devs take some of this feedback (hopefully all of it) and implement it into the game. It really would improve the game massively.
ruclips.net/video/baMAqDcpMBk/видео.html
Ultimately, I can live with the new perk system, no problem, but they NEED to address the footsteps audio and tune it down not just a little but quite a lot.
The second week of the beta I felt like I could play matches without even seeing... All I needed was my ears to predict everything and felt like wall hacker.. Its sad when you just start to concentrate on hearing and not seeing...
Also straffing speeds, a little tune up and also for the aiming walking movement speed of attachments
You touched on it a few times, and I think it’s the most important point… They’re advertising the game as accommodating of all playstyles when it couldn’t be further from the truth lol. The amount of creators I’ve seen show clips of them playing slow and campy and killing everything that moves is proof enough.
Campers don't exist they are sentinels, using the word camper can offend some players.
Ohh so that's why people camp, it's because the content creators do it first and people like following anything with authority
That explains SO much now
Elaborate on campy. It looked normal to me

Man I love your honesty. Such a great video
On the perk charging idea I've got an idea. Personally I believe you should have your usual 3 perk tiers and you should be able to choose 1 from each. However ontop of it you can have 2 extra perks (a bit weaker, but still impactful) that charge up throughout the game. It would be a really fun twist on the specialist perk system from past games. And we still have our traditional perk system as well.
What ace said before was better. Have the perks be active at the beginning and have them be a bit weaker but when the time passes it makes them into pro perks.
There are better ideas out there. But the balance and system has already been put together, so the chances of them changing it are very low. It's a shame they made so many poor decisions. I hope some of the higher up devs learn their lesson or are removed from their positions.

The issues I have with it are similar to yours and what the rest of the community has been saying. Refunded my pre order for now, might get it if they listen to feedback and I like the changes they make. if not, I'm going to be waiting to see how it does within it's 1st month or 2 of release and get it on sale.

Everyone hated Ghosts (I loved it) but if MWII had that perk system...there'd be a lot less complaints on MWII. It would be interesting if they had a dead silence mode. To see how people play it and how many people play it.
The solution is they need to implement boots, which pick between speed increase, quiet steps, or immunity walking through molotov puddles.
You might be a genius
@@quackquackvr i am
Absolutely spot on! This has the potential to be the best COD we've seen for a good while, everything feels so damn smooth, from gunplay to movement. The biggest downside I have seen so far is the footstep audio and how loud it is.. Hardpoint will suffer because of this, especially in a competitive environment.. Imagine the opposition team has both the setup in defending but the audible directional footsteps, It just becomes a game of how many of are waiting for dead silence to push the hardpoint. PLEASE IW If you change only 1 thing, please let it be this!!! Please
Spawns are quite horrendous as well though in my opinion. 3 deaths in Domination, each spawn at a different flag, utterly disregarding who actually held said flag. Hell, most matches ended up with each team having capped at least 30 flags, which is a stark contrast from older games where it wasn't at all unusual to have single digit caps in both teams. It's basically spawn at enemy flag, take over and defend until enemy teams spawns on you and you die, spawn at another enemy flag, rinse repeat.
@@jongustavsson5874 Yea I had 3 spawns in a row where the moment I started moving I got shot in the back. That shit made me wanna quit instantly.

I agree with everything you mentioned. The no red dot mini map I could live with but the BLUE dots screw the pooch. Come around a corner and an enemy has blue dots behind them. Even through walls. At least have red dot on enemies. Makes you lose too many gunfights. Responds are horrible and unpredictable from oneself.
Right! The blue dots suck...wish we could have an option to turn them off
I don't get what that means... I haven't had any problems with that?
@@diogovieira3362 OK think of this. You turn a corner with your sights up. Looks like an enemy but you see a blue dot that is behind them. Your brain says don't shoot, it's not enemy. BUT there he IS and the blue dot is behind him so you delay in pulling the trigger. Now you have waited and your dead, respawn. K/D's go to hell.
Responds are unpredictable. You never know where you will respawn. Therefore, you waste time trying to decide where to go to. Even if the other team is kicking you ass with a spawn trap. You learn how to fight your way out and get better at the game.
I like the catch the edge idea, but at the same time i feel like it can happen too many times on spots where you should be able to just mantle but instead get stopped due to that animation
1000% agreed.
The problem that you alluded to is that we - meaning the 20 or 30 somethings who have experience of the COD 4 till Black Ops 1 days aren’t the target audience anymore.
The target audience is now clearly brand new gamers and kids. To them a dead silence perk, proper mini-map, trade offs with suppressors etc is foreign to them and therefore IW will never implement anything mentioned in this video.
The game at its core is a blast to play. The things that devs can easily change is what is holding the game back from reaching its full potential
It’s so disappointing because we all love CoD and the group of people who watch RUclipsrs like Ace just don’t have the same vision as IW
Did you notice they nerfed dead silence in the last few days, theres now a blinding visual effect that makes it incredibley hard to see the minimap🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️😢😢😢
I love how in terms of red dots on the mini map content creators are giving insanely valid reasons to change it and infinity ward basically responds with “we don’t wanna”
I felt every point you mentioned.
The sound was insane, there were so many occasions where people snapped to the direction I was coming from because they could hear me stomping around.
I enjoyed the gameplay but I felt like i was playing ranked the entire time and I couldn’t just switch off and play a chilled match.
I feel like I have to wear a headset because I am getting pre-aimed every time I push a location. When you work all day wearing a headset then have to do it when you want to play a game, it’s just starting to feel like a chore.
I'm feeling this negativity towards the state of the game ESPECIALLY so with the fact that it's 70 dollars. Looking back on the older cods I can't believe I took them for granted
it's just as your said: we aren't the target audience for the game and it's really apparent in this beta.
I only played the second weekend and I agree with pretty much every stance you took on aspects of the game. As a player who mainly plays SnD id really like to see the perk system reverted despite really enjoying the SnD experience in the beta. I’ll still be grinding SnD, finding new angles, new rush routes, bomb spots, and funny killcams with my friends. A lot of the design choices are a bit whack imo but I’m sure I’ll have a lot of fun in the game.
I'm glad you said this! I thought it was just me but weekend 1 was good... it had its rough spots (bunny hopping everywhere, inconsistent TTK, loud footsteps, etc) but I enjoyed it. Weekend 2 was absolutely terrible. I made it about a day and a half in and called it quits. Everything you said here was spot on.
Great points Ace 👍🏻
Footstep audio is a dealbreaker. It’s easy to adapt to that playstyle but it’s just so boring to do. The game shouldn’t punish you for moving.
Legit dude it forcefully makes the game pace so much slower and boring
They will propably work on it. There is so much feedback from every site to this issue. It would be a big deal breaker if they wouldn´t change it.
Dude for real lol.
Hold an angle, listen for footsteps, run a half dozen steps up, hold angle for 2 seconds, run up 3 steps, ADS walk up to another angle, listen for footsteps, ADS walk up another 8m, listen for footsteps, run up 3 steps and bunny jump around corner, get one kill, holy shit it’s been 90 seconds.
@@fabian731 They didn't do it throughout the entirety of MW2019, they didn't do it through MWII's development and so there's no reason to believe they'll do it now.
@@ALIENjoy Yep. I literally went 10-9 in a game of HARDPOINT. Felt like I could not move
I haven't played the beta, but I can already feel that my passion for wanting to buy this game has fizzled out due to the changes and community feedback I'm hearing.
I think the main issue here is that they're trying to fix a lot of things that aren't broken. I'm okay with them removing slide canceling, but that has now been replaced by bunny hopping, so what exactly has been done here? It's these types of decisions that make you scratch your head.
Dead silence compared to 2019:
Unskippable animation
Tune up locked behind ultimate perk
Footsteps still audible when activated
A fucking alarm plays
I'm genuinely floored.
Of all the videos I've watched this one is the most level headed and not completely whiny about the red dots ... you put every complaint into a more constructive light while remaining serious feedback.. Great video. If they won't give us Ninja or something very similar I would hope they would add a footstep level slider under audio just so I don't have to listen to my own footsteps thundering thru the headset.
I resonate with Ace in this video. It appears Infinity ward no longer cares for its hardcore player base and that we are no longer their target audience.
Waiting for XDiafiant as a great 6v6 arena shooter. Devs stated no SBMM in Pub lobbies. They’re really designing it for skilled players it seems like. Really exited for this game.
They brought in Aches, 2x CoD world champion, to help them design the game. Not just as a consultant but an actual dev. Genuinely a massive W.
you mean the game they tried to sell everyone as a tom clancy game before the backlash yeah nah sorry not trusting them
Thank you for your honest feedback. I trust your review every year, I feel we have a similar play style (skill excluded) and if you aren't enjoying there's a huge chance I won't
The second weekends felt increase of SBMM could be also explained by a larger player base the SBMM can choose from. The system can then rank you more accurately and choose more players within your skilllevel. Also more PC players with accurate mouse control.
MW2 is made for one type of player only. I think with the expected two year life of this cod, they are especially trying to cater almost exclusively to the casuals.
Nah, I had got nostalgia from it. Felt very similar to a favorite game of mine, Rainbow Six: Vegas. And many thought that game was too hard or too challenging.
Well to be fair, if you're trying to make money do you cater more to 20% or the 80%? A lot of people don't seem to realize that the majority of multiplayer game players are casuals. Pro/streamers/wanna be streamers are in the vast minority.
@@myboomstick0056 Also, didn't the "loyal fanbase" complain about how they do the same thing every year? That's all I hear from Ace. "Why change what isn't broke", I'm paraphrasing.
@@Honeneko. But that's not CoD and no, the 'loyal fanbase' you speak of is just people who don't actually know what a good CoD is. Most of the people who played CoD in the golden years want the same stuff from before.
@@Honeneko. Well it is hard from the perspective of a more aggressive player. Thunderous footsteps. No ninja. Dead Silence is not a perk but a ability that makes loud sounds when activated. Slow stafing. Insanely short ttk. Nerfed sliding. Mounting hasn’t been nerfed. Everything is designed to cater to Timid Timmy camping an angle like his life depends on it and punishing all other play styles.
The first few hours of the beta I was having a blast. The more I played the more disappointed and frustrated I became. The perk system is terrible and needs to be reverted. The spawns are awful and make the match totally chaotic and unpredictable. The mini map is frustrating (and honestly I don't see how it appeals to lower skill players, it seems much easier for high skill players to adapt to it and the lower skill players have one of their awareness tools stripped). The footsteps are ridiculous. The ttk is way too fast for the current design decisions. Fast is fine, and this speed in an of itself isn't awful, but in context of all other game decisions it is far too quick: if we could actually build out our loadouts and perks properly, it would be better; if the spawns were somewhat predictable and less chaotic that would make the ttk much more bearable; if the minimap allowed you to have better awareness, that would be more ok for ttk; and if you could move without being absolutely deleted in .10 seconds by someone who heard you through three walls and two buildings to prefire you, that would also make it better. But with al of their design choices, the TTK is absolutely unacceptably too fast.
And most of all the SBMM is cranked to 11 and making every match a miserable sweatfest just to maintain a 1 kd. It has not been nearly as much fun as it should be. I played with three friends over the weekend of varying skill, and we simply couldn't play with eachother on anything other than ground war cause the SBMM was just too brutal. If I can't play CoD with my friends, I really don't see a point to playing it at all this year.
This was the most comprehensive and fair review I have listened to
Appreciate the honest commentary and nicely done video. Fingers crossed but might be waiting a couple years for Treyarch to hopefully bring the game back to a more traditional cod.
Agree with all of your points here. The sad thing is I feel like we’ve got a really good CoD on our hands if they just made the right tweaks but something is telling me they just won’t listen to us.
Gotta say I was really excited for this game because of the feedback we had on MW19, as the games we got next fixed most of these issues too. Really thought that we'd get a more fun and chaotic game with MWII but they decided to make worse everything that was already bad with the previous game. I did have fun with the Beta though, but simply I don't see myself playing this game very much so I ended up asking for a refund.
Btw you mentioned loud footsteps as a perk. This is something that they did with SitRep Pro way back with MW2 and MW3 and it worked very well for people who used their ears for footsteps as one of the key forms of awareness, Ninja/Dead Silence used to be on the same tier as well so you had a trade off which is great. To add to that, if they want to keep the current perk system, I bet Ninja and "SitRep Pro" would be great perks to add on the second or the third tier of perks, so you get one or the other.
Second this 👍🏻
Footsteps are a slippery slope to be convinced on. I understand your point, but its nice to have audio information that helps with awareness, when someone is chasing you.
Really good and accurate points on the pros and cons in the overall beta experience. I'd suggest the removal of Weapon Mounting Mechanic from MP and a On/Off option for Ledge-Wall Hanging Mechanic.☺
So accurate an exactly how I feel about this game I'm glad I didn't pre order it I played mabye 2.5 hours of the beta and just don't like it that much especially since I'm a heavy rusher and this game just slaps me hard in the face trying to do so like I thought mw19 was bad but I jumped back on that and rebirth and was able to dominate with out even trying
I agree Ace!!! I felt a drastic difference between the early access on Thursday and Friday and when it went completely open this weekend. They definitely turned up the strength of the SBMM. I’m nowhere close to your skill level and it hit me hard as well. I’m average at best. I was really enjoying the game on early access but throughout the weekend I found myself enjoying it less and less. It became a grind to just get to lvl 30
Bizarrely I had the reverse experience, I’m joe average as well!
I can tell you one thing, the SBMM is off the charts. Playing alone I was a 12-14 kill player, teaming up with a full squad with a couple players much better than me resulted in 3-5 kills a game, it was not fun at all. Also, I came up against several teams of cheaters with wall hacks.
Omg birdseye perk, sheesh I went on a 7 1 shot kill in ground war when mine hit. Great vid Ace
I enjoyed it. I still wont preorder any game though and $70 is a lot considering microtransactions.. i'll most likely wait until a sale and watch reviews/gameplay of the finished game
My thoughts exactly. $70.00 is just too much with additional money needed for battlepass.
Week 1 you didn’t have PC players. Pc players almost always use headsets
Fantastic feedback. Re-posted on Twitter and tagged IW to increase the chances of them seeing it.
I played a game of vanguard and I do appreciate MW2 and how you can tell the direction of sounds and gun shots. Footstep audio is still ridiculously loud though.
It sounds like a horse is galloping when you run in Cod MW2 😂
Top three things I would like changed:
1. Red dots on the mini-map when shooting unsurpassed.
2. Reduce headshot multiplier because I’m getting melted in gunfights.
3. Reduce base footstep volume and add dead silence as a perk.
Im going to be honest. A lot of the things that most complain about are things that I personally don't notice or have an issue with. I absolutely loved the beta and am definitely buying this entry.
-I only ever look at the minimap when there's a UAV up anyway
-I don't play with the volume up much so footstep audio wasn't that big of a deal for me, and even when I did put on the headphones..eh? I honestly love playing CoD a bit slower instead of the constant high octane, just snorted a fat line of cocaine stuff that Cods been doing year after year adnauseum(think that's how it's spelled).
I've never used dead silence, even when it was a perk. So a lot of these just don't matter to me. If anything, MW2 felt like MW2019 with more depth in it's mechanics and I love that.
It just seems that cod is in this place where people will rag on it for being the same thing every year, but will be whipped back into being *the same thing year after year* with minimal changes and a fresh coat of paint when they do try to change things, change the direction, etc.
MW2019: "We have horrible perks."
MW2022: "Hold my beer."
Love the way you cover your feedback and i like you just straight up being honest instead of 'liking' the game like a lot of content creators, wish infinity ward would listen to the community tho ...
Half of every call of duty is staying off the minimap. If you wanted to take a chance on using other perks other than cold blooded, ghost, and a ninja-type perk or if you went without a suppressor you would generally have a trade off with showing up on the minimap more often than not.
Very good list of what needs changed. You covered it all and i hope they use it as a template for fixing it.
One thing I want from cod is exact number values when customizing a gun and a health meter so I can see the dmg that I take from an enemy.
Lets be honest, the most requested changes wont make it into the final game. Enemies will stay off the minimap when firing and dead silence will be exactly how its in the beta. i think footsteps will get a slight decrease in range and volume . and i hope they seriously review the visual recoil and put it in line with MW2019
I do hope they leave it as is. I do not want myself or the enemy popping up on the mini map. As it stands now there is tons of ways to detect enemies I do need a red dot showing up just because someone shot there gun. I have ears and a good headset so I usually can pinpoint where someone is with the game telling me.
I also find that you do end up chasing red dots as a result. Not a fun experience.
yes the visual recoil is extremely distracting in this game and makes me lose sight of enemies in long distance fights
Thank you Ace for your honesty; I share the same negative feeling. I didn't enjoy the beta for all the reasons you perfectly highlighted, and I would also add that the TTK in this game was also a big issue for me. I will not be buying this game unless they make changes, doubtful they will though unless maybe enough of us don't buy it and it hurts their bottom-line. sad times, hopefully Treyarch will save us in 2024.
For perks I was thinking that we could put any perk in any tier but the ones you earn in the match are upgraded versions "pro" so you can really get what you want .
The irony about nerfing run and gun. A bragging point for MW was its ludicrous amount of movement options. You could shoot while sliding, you could shoot whilst clambering, you could slide cancel, you could actually strafe. Why did they decide slowing down the game was a good choice?
I feel exactly the same as you... It's a big shame because they have a great game in their hands... if they make the right changes. otherwise it's a camp fest.
I already cancelled my preorder and Im waiting to see what they change before launch. If the changes aren't enough, I'll wait till I see how league play plays and then, maybe, I'll buy it.
I feel everything they're changing is catering to DMZ, and while it sounds like it will work for that, it doesn't for MP. Luckily DMZ is free and I'll for sure give that a try
I'm not gonna lie but if IW adds new kills streaks during the games life cycle, I would like them to add the oracle from cod ghost, to at least help out with the whole lack of enemy nameplates
Another cool streak from ghosts is a juggernaut recon that had a constant ping to detect enemies in the mini-map. This streak can cost 11 points but has less firepower (riot shield, smoke grenade, .44 magnum.)
Or just add nameplates idk why they need to reinvent so many wheels
@@mamoonrashid2592 true but we probably all know that they ain't gonna add enemy nameplates back so the least they can do is add the oracle as a killstreak and make it a relatively low killstreak (like 5 or 6 kills) to help alleviate the visibility problem
Add the heartbeat sensor attachment, call out an enemies position like in battlefield but in a compass arrow position, shorten the red dot duration to 2 seconds, add a jump delay after the first jump, 1/4 of a second on the second jump, 1/2 of a second on the 3rd jump, add crouch running to reduce step noises
Thank you for the time stamps. Made it so much easier to skip the stuff I've already heard you complain about and nauseum
