A pretty minor thing that I really enjoyed was pistol fastdraw. Now that I think about it, the pistols in general were just all around great, each had their own niche, even among the full auto ones
Yeah the handguns were balanced great in this game. Most classes were good. LMGs, handguns, snipers, shotguns, etc. It was mainly just ARs that sucked. A lot of them looked the same as each other or had similar stats, so played almost the same. We had way too many ARs. They added a new AR basically every season. Besides S3 when they added a new battle rifle. The battle rifles were balanced well amongst each other but I don’t think we needed even more rifles (on top of ARs, marksman rifles and sniper rifles). It was just too many.
I didn’t like the weapon platform system much. Even though I prefer IW for Mp, I hope Treyarch’s game doesn’t have weapon platforms. That would be something to look forward to.
I loved the balancing between pistols. They reminded me a lot of Black Ops 2 since they filled specific niches that fit every player instead of there being 1 dominant choice. The P890 was very competitive but a competent player with another pistol could easily compete.
The fact that the starting pistol could remain competitive in some fashion is a good mark of balance. I didn't feel like any one gun remained king for long. Many guns shared the throne.
Bro pistol balancing is ruined after tec9 came out. It's noticeably better than x13 and such a good full auto pistol will make other sidearms overshadowed.
Sidearm power felt really good in the game. Pistols performed really well and felt really fun. DMZ was really fun as well. It was great to change things up instead of just playing MP all the time. The camos system was one of my favorites. Ultimately, the perk system and slow strafe speed was what killed it for me.
Team balance got it for me... I got fed up needing to carry my team even when I was using stupid stuff that absolutely killed my ability to do well, but I would consistently be top player on the team.
@scottjs5207 Ugh yeah, if you have one solid round it would put you with 5 lower skill players vs the team you just rolled the server with. Definitely obnoxious.
Following up on the camo system, I liked how the mastery system in MW22 had you use your gold weapons to unlock plat and so on, instead of immediately abandoning guns you already mastered like in years past.
This goes with animations, but I appreciate how many weapons had slightly different reload animations depending on if you had Fast Hands or not. Pistols were real fun this year too, especially with the quick draw handles they added.
It needs to be mentioned that they made pistols viable on their own in this game + the quick draw mechanic. Also the other little stuff adding more layer to movement like vaulting over the higher ledges and dolphin dive are a welcome addition. Scopes in this game were also done really well and were given more character with reticles and I loved that the game made you come out of your comfort zone and try out other weapons to unlock different attachments.
Idk if the vaulting over higher ledges can be counted. I fall off ledges alot because the wall hang mechanic is buggy, Plus cold wars and Bo4s vaulting was WAYYY higher
Pistols are the best guns in HC. They one shot across the map. Assault rifles take 2-3 shots. Depending on the point of view pistols are the most unbalanced thing in the game.
I personally didn't like the weapon attachment unlocking process. It forced people to use pretty awful weapons to level up for hours just to use the gun they want. For people like me, who have limited time to play, I don't want to spend my 2 sessions a week not enjoying the game because I've had to use a shite weapon. Not bad once ranked drops but until then, it's not enjoyable.
@@jamessharpe2625and at least based on the beta MW3 has the same ridiculous level up mechanics. Sure all the MW2 guns are carrying over leveled to whatever state you have them in but I'm going all in with the new MW3 guns. So yep it's going to be a slow crawl to level them up after the launch. Upside is from the beta I know what early attachments unlocked while leveling up are valuable. 👍
Pistol fastdraw is the best thing ever and needs to be standard in every CoD going forward. Especially if your running a specialized weapon (shotty/sniper) it's so nice to whip out a pistol that covers the primary's weakspot and still be able to fight
Really? Every SMG sounded exactly the same from third person from my experience. I couldn't tell if someone was using an auto Glock, MP5, etc. which really drove me up a wall.
DMZ! I know it’s not for everyone, but there is a large cult following. I was never a big WZ player unless I had my son or nephews that wanted to squad up so I used to play a lot of plunder. Eventually I tried rebirth and loved it! Fast forward to MW2… still not a big WZ mode fan so I’d play either MP or ground war based gameplay. Didn’t really understand DMZ until a few months ago when I was feeling burned out on the whole game. Figured I’d give it another shot and it’s the most fun I’ve had since Rebirth Island. Not too sure about this whole zombie thing, but I suppose I’ll give it a fair shake before I decide to move on to something different.
As usual the CoD community over exaggerates everything, there’s not a lot of bad in this game besides dead silence and red dots on the mini map being missing and the movement being a little limited (which if we’re being honest is a subjective thing, some people prefer the movement the way it is)
I really enjoyed Invasion. It provided a haven from the sweat fest multiplayer and I enjoyed just getting home from work and after my evening chores just putting on some music or watching a video while killing bots and still able to work on weapon progression. I loved the camo system, loved all the events, and I loved DMZ. I also really liked the new gunsmith system, I like that I have to try everything to really unlock everything
For me, I really enjoyed the camo structure with each gun unlocking 4 camos across the board. It actually encouraged me to go for for camos instead of a relentless grueling grind which I never went for in previous titles.
You forgot the sound of the guns in this game ! M4 loud, Tac when someone else shooting it. Brilliant iron sights. The graphics of infinity ward games compared to sledgehammer. The ability to get lots of multi kills. As annoying sometimes but the audio phenomenal too. The funny comments the operators say. Maps some solid 3 lane maps. Great videos man
It sounded cool at the beginning but it was just a gimmick, you literally just "tuned" every attachment as to where you would have the most positive and least negative, not really to your liking
One problem I had with suppressors in this game is it said that it helped with “recoil smoothness” and no matter how much recoil smoothness it gave you, I found myself feeling like the suppressors only made the recoil worse
Personally, I loved how good the game looked. The guns and weapon audio as well as the vehicle audio was very good. Shame the footstep audio was so inconsistent, perhaps with so many audio items available in the game, the servers and the engine wouldn't allow more than a certain amount to be played at any given time. I hope in future games and better tech, the devs will allow a larger player bubble for audio cues.
Besides not having dead silence as a perk and red dots on the mini map, what else has MWII done objectively wrong ?? Don’t give me “muh slide canceling” bullshit because that’s subjective, a lot of people prefer it the way it is
@@SaifSKH i have a whole list but im saving it for the “what mw2022 did wrong” video. A few though: -bad ui -bad spawns -too many gunsmith attchments that do the same thing -timed perk system
I think the weapons case in dmz to get the nuclear skin and the koschei complex ak skin scavenger hunt was actually really sick. Probably the only hype MW2 brought
Gunplay and gun design (sound and animations) was 90% of the fun of the game for me tbh. Even though the less casual part of the community didn't like the visual recoil and muzzle smoke I personally really loved it, made the guns feel so much more punchy and immersive. Unfortunate that they are heavily decreasing this for MWIII imo.
I kinda agree with that…the visual recoil wasnt too bad but if they toned down the muzzle flash and smoke would have played better. In the night map you cant even see what your shooting
Something that might be a bit weird to explain, but I did really like about this game - It rewarded game knowledge more than previous titles have. Especially on, say, the Warzone/DMZ side. Knowing the effectiveness of different guns at different ranges, being able to tell what your enemy is using before you get into the fight, and even on the multiplayer side, this game really rewarded taking a second to think things through and move more tactically instead of just dead sprinting around the map. I feel that this title did more for people who improve through exploiting superior tactical knowledge rather than their reaction time, which is more of the opposite of what previous titles have done. Used to just be if you were faster, you would win in most cases. I hardly found myself sprinting around the maps in this game, mostly just walking, and I maintained very good stats playing the way I would perform these actions in a more realistic way, the way I did during my time in the service.
Since everyone is already talking about pistol fast draw, I personally preferred the weapon progression style that MWII brought in. I know a lot of people didn’t like being forced to use weapons they didn’t like, but it was better than grinding 70 levels per gun. Plus we had DMZ, witch made grinding levels a whole lot easier.
This tbh, the game felt like it wanted to be more but was held down by the weird restrictive nature of the movement and some weird and arbitrary design choices.
That's exactly what I can say about it. People saying it's the worst COD ever I think are just exaggerating hardcore but it definitly failed in a lot of ways
Cause when I went into private matches, they had some settings that definitely could have made it fine, the game is ok but I certainly won't be rushing back to play it when it's life cycle ends which is really unfortunate and unfair to it
Honestly, been playing CoD since 2018 (wife, kids…) so since I had less and less time, this type of game was great for me (meaning multiplayer fps). I used to play BF, Siege, Cs, dirty bomb etc. I have played cod 1 and 2 even multiplayer (yeah Im an OG). MW2 2022 was a first CoD where I unoocked orion. Truly enjoyed that title. Probably wont be buying MW3. I was counting on MW2 to be 2 year title, cuz I dont really have that much time to game and I hate being behind everybody
Staged Reloads, I really liked it for all my guns and not just for LMG's. To me, it made some gunfights a bit more natural and more intense, especially when i had my pistol quickdraw in my back pocket just incase someone was about to rush me and i could somewhat take careof them and not have to reload all over again. "B-b-but muh ReLoAd CAnCel! ItS FAstER an MoRE EfFiCieNT!" As someone who's been playing CoD MP since CoD4 and has reload cancel literally ingrained into my brain/hands, I'm honestly over it.
I made a build on the pump shotgun where it was super short and it had slugs. That was fun to use. Then again, i haven't legitimately played since Season 1
Great to have Gunfight back after Sledgehammer's previous over engineered attempt, some of the most fun I had with MP but it should have launched with the game.
+1 to everything you mentioned. I also really enjoy the core gunplay and feel of shooting in MW2--I realize this may be unpopular, but I prefer the weightier and more tactile feel of the larger visual recoil here.
MW2 honestly is an 8/10 CoD, I personally prefer IW's design philosophy, I can play the game how I want and still do well. More slow and defensive play styles are absolutely nuked in MW3. (No I am not bad at the game I hit crim in ranked) The weapon balance is very good, there are a ton of fun and interesting weapons and attachments to use. All of which is pretty viable due to a pretty perfect ttk imo. I think the map design is probably the weakest part of the game though, about half of all the dlc maps just are not it.
I like how MWII buffed the damage rates for some of the weapons when you swapped them over into semi auto. I am fully aware of how unrealistic that is, however it gave the weapon a different feel and gave people who enjoy semi auto more or a chance in gunfights.
Here are mine -The campaign was fun with a lot of gameplay variety. -The gunplay felt really good. It’s one of those things that I can’t describe, it just felt great. -I know it was an extremely divisive feature but I kind of liked having to use different weapons to unlock certain weapons and attachments. I normally don’t run semi auto rifles in CoD multiplayer but I ended up doing it to get a few weapons unlocked and I’m glad I did -You can toggle between scorestreaks and killstreaks -The new camo challenge system made grinding a lot less frustrating. I liked how the camos looked and how each weapon had a unique set that could be applied to all weapons after unlocking them. -They didn’t combine assists and kills -The firing range was a great addition despite being extremely barebones. It sucks that this isn’t a mainstay in CoD games -Graves -I’m glad console players got an FOV slider -Inverted flashbang option -I didn’t touch the ranked mode but everyone who did seemed to really like it. Treyarch did a great job
Speaking of guns, what I like that they did differently then mw 2019. Instead of an attachment/attachments changing the gun to a different version, they introduced another gun that way, you don't waste attachments
Im honestly really happy you mentioned cheating in ranked but i had fun while i could with this game i definitely agree it was held back by a numerous amount of things but it was gun while it lasted. Really hoping that we can keep this style of ranked play system wise going forward:) cant wait to see part two of your review of the game Ace
@MrSirDrRevCapt I actually do agree with you on that. It was pretty sad hearing about major people quitting league because of that. Edit:Cheaters without a doubt ruined this mode for everyone and I say this for everyone. Warzone ranked was really bad too but we're talking about multi-player here lol
I came into MW2 because I wanted to play AA and shoot down killstreaks again, I stayed for the tactical camera and giving an unreal level of recon support to my friends and allies in multiplayer. I feel like I found multiple different out of nowhere playstyles in MW2 and while they probably weren't optimal for exp, or mastery camos That's my positive for it.
I really enjoyed the flow of maps in this game. Modern Warfare 2019 already did a great job with giving the player many different areas to reach and explore, and ways to break the map flow, and I feel like Modern Warfare II only improves on that. The new mantling system allows your character to mantle higher up obstacles, and albeit it's very slow, I do really enjoy having it. And I agree with you on the camo system. Camos are something I look forward to in Call of Duty, and I'm always upset when they don't add in any post-launch camos and just focus on dumb blueprints with skins on them that could easily just be camos (*cough* Damascus blueprint from MWII *cough*). However, this game really delivered with offering even more camos for the player to get, with EVERY post-launch weapon coming bundled with new ones, alongside other events, such as the Raid events, offering the player camos as rewards.
I think tuning has been a good option that they added. Once they buffed the effects of it, it has been making a noticeable difference for me when trying to make niche guns viable. I know a lot of people have a problem with it because they dont explain the changes very well to the player, but in MW3 with detailed stats i think tuning will be an excellent feature.
I like the general concept of tuning, but MW2'S execution of it made no sense. MW2 is allegedly supposed to be casual-friendly and yet they decided to make weapon customization the most convoluted and level-locked it's ever been. Even CoD pros say they don't understand the system and rely on others for weapon builds. Don't understand why they didn't just consolidate/pare down the attachments so that each is fundamentally different from the other, then have a simple but powerful tuning feature (with detailed stats) that uses intuitive values to cover the ground between attachments. Looking forward to MW3's additions of detailed stats and aftermarket parts, but still suspect that loadout building is gonna be a mess with way too many attachments and tuning minutiae.
Personally loved the unlock methods for guns/attachments. It made people have to challenge themselves for once to get things they wanted. First cod that really rewarded players that grind the game and are willing to try different guns.
It seemed to me that it was overly complicated and annoying. I much prefer the classic unlock at level x or for post launch guns to complete a small-medium challenge. The weapon families thing just seemed like a lazy way to rehash essentially the same gun with minor changes, instead of just making up a different gun with its own identity. I also hated that you had to grind half way through one gun's levels just to use another one. And I find the argument that it forces people to experiment with other guns more completely invalid because i would have used every gun for the camo challenges anyways. This just felt restrictive and forced for no reason.
This game got undue hate. Every time I play, I have a blast. The gun recoil is crazy, the visibility when shooting is trash, but overall the game just has great gameplay imo.
Mw2 was everything that mw19 failed on. The movement was smooth and polished and 80 percent of the maps were actually playable. I love this game. My favorite mw game since mw3 in 2011
Right there with ya. I can actually say I like 23 out of the 26 6v6 maps in the game today. That's way beyond a record for how many maps I like in a Call of Duty, and I've been playing since MW2 2009. Some rose-tinted goggle about to come off for a lot of people playing those old maps again--of the 11 maps I like out of the launch 16, there are few in there that are outclassed by almost any map in MW2 2022. Estate is trash. Should just be deleted. Wasteland is only a step above that. Afghan only slightly above that. Terminal plays like shit, but for some reason people say they like it, and half the time it can be fun. I have never liked Rust. Out of the 11 I like, a couple are noticeably not as fun as the others, which I can say about MW2 2022 as well, but that game has 26 maps. So yeah, personally, I think MW2 maps, as whole, are overrated. It does have some of the most memorable and fun maps in the series, but sometimes I ask myself if I only think that because it was the first CoD I got into, like so many others that seem to have rose-tinted goggles on for MW2 2009. Because honestly, I think 2022's maps are just plain more fun that 2009's, with some exceptions.
A small thing that was added later, i really like the damage taken information when you die, it just lets you know how much damage you took from people when you die, and i like knowing if i took damage from 1 person or got teamshot
Honestly the most fun thing in this game for me has been the mid season events and the challenges that came with them. I hope we see some stuff like that in the next game
I think the way they handle mid season events is a bit harsh, seeing how in some cases it is impossible to get it done if you only join halfway into the event
The visuals, audio and some other niche mechanics like pistol quickdraw and swimming were handled well. But that's as far as it goes in terms of good aspects in my opinion.
💯% agree. The level of detail in the options let’s you tailor you controls just the way want them. Loved DMZ. Had a great time infiling with friends and doing solos. Level design was great. Firing range is mad useful. The incentives to use new gear is pretty great. Shock stick and drill charge are some of my favorites. Quick draw is great.
Bit of a side point but I'd love to see point streaks return in lieu of kill streaks in MW3. Scorestreaks are just objectively better and are easier to obtain 9/10, so a change to the point streaks of the og MW3 could be a good change.
Personally I like that they kept the weapons in the game mostly modern. No WW2 bolt actions or 1911s that were underpowered. There's so many awesome weapons in 2023 now and even if they didn't see much development past initial testing like the Cronen Squall's real life counterpart, I'm happy a modern warfare game has modern guns.
The attachments and models in general are very realistic and well handled. I was very disappointed with sledgehammers handling of the guns and attachments- light bolt on a pump shotgun? bolt AK, weird SVD/AR hybrid, the 9mm AR abomination, the ugly AN94… That being said, I miss the WW2 weapons in MW2019. Insurgent style weapons have a place, I need the MG34 and K98 back
@@tonedeaftachankagaming457the SVD/AR hybrid you're on about is the SVCh, a modular semi auto dmr designed by Kalashnikov concern for russian SF. I don't think it's been adopted by any military but it's definitely a real gun in production. There's definitely also bolt action AKs in the wild somewhere but it's a really odd choice to add
@@lunchpin403 Hadn’t heard of the SVCh yet, thanks for the info. The bigger problem with the bolt action AK is that it’s a sniper rifle, not a marksman. It’s an odd choice either way but very weird putting it in class with precision rifle cartridges… IW put some thought into making the classes make sense. Assault rifles are in intermediate cartridges, battle rifles in full-power rifle with select fire, precision/Anti material calibers for snipers. Attachments usually make sense too, with the M1014 getting bolts instead of the pump, the semi auto mods as “high grain,” etc. Sledgehammer decided to invent guns- and ugly ones- while apparently doing 0 research on how they should work. Not to mention the optics. I’m just hoping the guns I can stand to use wont be garbage
I actually really enjoy the movement in this game. In the beginning it was definitely janky, but they definitely improved it since then and I really enjoy it now. The dolphin dive is also absolutely amazing and going back to older games without it feels weird. I also really enjoy the overall gunplay and the animations for weapons are all top tier. They really poured their heart and soul into weapon animations and they did a great job. I also really enjoy the attachment unlock system where you only have to unlock an attachment once. No more having ~40 levels for each gun to unlock the same attachment for every single gun. I definitely enjoy the Scorestreak toggle as well as it makes objective based game modes much better.
Thanks for giving a shoutout to DMZ. Credit where credit is due even though its not your thing. I've never been a WZ person and always been straight MP with some zombies sprinkled in. But generally disliking MP this game, I gave DMZ a shot and fell in love and play it way more than MP. I'm worried for its future though...
I really enjoyed the executions as well, when they work. It felt like I outmaneuvered and outsmarted my opponent, and it was a very rewarding experience. They should make your enemy unkillable during the animation though, because it's way easier to shoot someone mid execution and steal the kill than it is to execute them while they're getting shot and steal the kill. You shouldn't have to assume your teammate isn't trustworthy to go for executions
Strong primaries and secondaries (fast ttk), amazing weapon animations, decent ground war support, and more immersive tactical gameplay elements. I will definitely play this game for another year instead of the next game. Not into the old cod arcade feel anymore.
My pros are: Balanced weapon tuning. Maps for sniping and long shots on hardcore. Most weapons are balanced Cons: Basilisk is still too broken on close quarters Desert Eagle not being able to one shot on close quarter (minus the headshot) That oil rig stage MP5 SD6 is only 3 round burst but no full auto SBMM heavy
-Frags haven't felt that good since CoD4. -Drill Change was huge W -Pistol fastdraw was the best attachment to come out from this game -Battle rifles had a place in game both as semi auto and full auto guns -Seasonal events -The fact that you can pick which sector to grind in the battle pass -Inspect animations gave character to the guns -Subsonic ammo was a strong gimmick with tradeoffs -Optics and eye distance were handled great -Blackcell though expensive gave great skins for both guns and characters -Most post launch maps were great -Weapon unlock and camo grinding incentifised gun variety and allowed even for casuals to grind for the mastery camo... Camos were also pretty neat If it wasn't for IW being so stubborn, MW2 could have been a much better game
I know everyone will hate me for this, but I think this was the best Call of Duty game I have ever played. They did so many things I really liked. Yes, they slowed down the movement, so it feels a bit less chaotic and a bit more realistic in gunfights. There are fewer people who fly around corners and do less jump and drop shooting. The second part I really liked was the staged reload. This means you have to think carefully about when to reload and not always reload after every enemy. With the quickswap ability to your pistol, there was a good reason to use it as a backup and not just a second gun. I really loved this feature. The time to kill feels great, and you have a great variety of guns that are pretty solidly balanced. Sure, there are some outliers, but they exist in every game. I think it was a new idea to diversify the attachment unlocks on different guns, and you have to play certain guns to unlock new ones. It was a more rewarding and engaging system than just unlocking every gun by leveling up. The ability to carry four perks is also great. Sure, you have to charge them, but in my opinion, it's worth it. DMZ is one of the most fun game modes they ever released, and I love it. I know I am probably the only one who thinks like that, but I am glad they stuck to their vision.
I disagree with ranked play part the sr was inconsistent and the MMR needs to be uncapped and removed it got to the point where people only got 20 30 sr points per win, and you needed to win 30 games in a row to get upto one sub division, if you do that in any other game you go up by a whole 3 divisions at least. Hidden skill cap or whatever it is needs to be removed, perhaps copy paste cod mobile ranking system
In my opinion, what I love and like about mw2 was Time era Weapons For sure the newer seasonal maps Classic maps brought back Kill streaks The weapons are actually balanced Camo challenges
MW2 was great fun to play all year. I loved the various challenges and Camo grinds. Cheating players is my biggest frustration. So many hackers just ruin the game immersion completely.
Subjectively: I liked the Raids, Camo challenge events, and pretty much all content that came with each Season. But for most people everything felt way too expensive. But you cannot make a good argument that there was a lack of content all year. I felt the weapon balancing was not very good at all during the start and Reloaded updates for some weapons. Most new Seasonal weapons never should have been nerfed. I felt DMZ should have been PVE only to separate it from Warzone and MP more. DMZ and MW2 would have had many more players all year round if DMZ was a more casual PVE mode. It would have been a great laid back open map casual mode to get a break from the matchmaking in MP. Sbmm was a major hot topic and issue for many players all year and during 2019. When a match of MW2 was playing and it felt I was playing against regular average players of my skill level the match felt great. But 90% all year the matches felt I was in a bracket way too high for my skill. Life long COD players like my Dad could never adapt to the matchmaking in MW2 because he never could play against people his skill. It was always against super sweaty toxic players that were miles above him and he stopped playing. Whatever sbmm really is or whatever it is they intended or intend to do, it needs work. I get the idea of it as I understand it but it does not work properly. I loved MW2 besides the two big things for me: matchmaking and the pvp in DMZ. Objectively: never fixed crashing on pc. Lol
I hate how people are praising the ranked mode in this game. It's the exact same system that Ubisoft added to Siege and called "ranked 2.0". Nobody liked it in Siege. It's such a downgrade and it's bad here as well It's just another way for them to manipulate play time, making you grind through the early ranks until you reach your real rank is not how ranked is supposed to work. You do 10 placement matches, get put in a rank, and fight your way higher Rocket League does it perfectly, whilst having both systems. You have your rank that you get placed in after 10 games, and fight to stay there or go up. Then, you have your reward rank. This is essentially the new cod ranked. Reward level starts at bronze, win 10 games in bronze rank or higher to get the silver reward level. At the end of the season, you get a reward based on your reward level like a champion skin or something
Pistol Fastdraw was a good edition, a real neat mechanic. Also SOUND, while the footstep audio is still shit, just overall sound of guns, impacts, headshot and hits, so good. One of the things that was pulling me out of MWIII was how bad the sounds were. It sounded so goofy, the LMG's sounds, the hit indicator, the headshot indicator. It sounded closer to a slot machine than a COD game.
I hope this game ages better like MW 2019 did. Most of the hate it got came from the Black Ops babies who never even played the OG MW games and think COD should always be some cracked movement shooter where how well you slide and how well you mash buttons matters more than your aim and game sense.
I liked the camo/mastery setup, map design and color palettes. Definitely a good looking game. I don’t mind crossplay with other console players, but I dip if I see more than 1 or 2 PC players. PC=Probably Cheating...
I've always wanted a solid white camo in past CODs and then with MWII it was feasible, but the challenge was so out of my purview that i finally gave up and knew I'd mever achieve it. thats a fkn shame, I'd have to use a gun I'd otherwise never use to unlock something for another gun 🙄
The general weapon balance was good. I don’t like how ARs are balanced and how many of them are similar, but most weapon classes are good. If you look at handguns especially but even shotguns, LMGs, snipers, etc - most guns had their own role and were balanced fine. The general time to kill was also good. Probably SMGs shouldn’t have dropped off so hard but I guess that was to give more purpose to battle rifles and marksman rifles.
Agreen with pretty much all the things you have mentined. One big thing I would like to add is sound design. (not footsteps, I think when it comes to footsteps it was more negative, lets leave that for second part, but overall sound quality, especially the weapon sounds). And thats something that I am going to miss a lot. In comparison the MW3 weapon sounds where disaster on beta.Every gun sounded same and all sounded more like some laser guns not real firearms.
I know that the second part will obviously be longer because explaining what they did wrong will take longer than explaining what they did right, but it's gonna be funny to see how much longer that video will be. IN MW19 his "what they did right" review was 15 minutes compared to his "what they did wrong" was 48 minutes lol. I also can't help but notice that a lot the things in this video aren't big gameplay factors lmao
DMZ, personally for me is something I wouldn't miss if it were to disappear come the release of S1 of MW2023. Given the state that it's in, with free UAVs in bundles, if you don't have friends that tolerate the game mode, you'll have a bad time.
I'd probably not mind the awful map layouts of this game if the SBMM wasnt cranked so damn high and blitz fast TTK. IW just cemented themselfs being the worst devs of the tree and Im never touching a IW game ever again.
While visual recoil is egregious, I like that bullets actually go where the optic's dot is pointing. I'm not sure this is really a positive, though, because it's a band-aid fix for a problem that didn't exist before MW19.
A pretty minor thing that I really enjoyed was pistol fastdraw.
Now that I think about it, the pistols in general were just all around great, each had their own niche, even among the full auto ones
I think it was underutilized, especially with staged reloads having the fastdraw has saved me so many times
Pistols were great they had to be because they were competing with overkill which was a prominent perk in a relatively weak spot
Handguns on their own were awesome and felt very balanced. Akimbo pistols to this day are still infuriating and bull shit
I loved the balancing between pistols. They reminded me a lot of Black Ops 2 since they filled specific niches that fit every player instead of there being 1 dominant choice. The P890 was very competitive but a competent player with another pistol could easily compete.
The Auto Deagle being an absolute powerhouse was buckets of fun! One of my favorite pistols I've ever used over the years!
i ran a mix of snakeshot, tec 9, and a glock setup that made it esentially a dmr
You mean pistols no one used😅
The fact that the starting pistol could remain competitive in some fashion is a good mark of balance.
No joke, I've been running the 9mm deamon w/ a shield on my back, and it's the only way I can have fun anymore.
I think the sound of guns was very well done each sounded distinct and had its own characteristics
Really? Every SMG sounded exactly the same from third person from my experience. I couldn't tell if someone was using an auto Glock, MP5, etc. which really drove me up a wall.
A downgrade from 2019, but still really solid.
@@scottjs5207 for real. Literally every gun sounded the same. its worse when you add a suppressor.
Any guesses as to the length of part 2? I'd bet it's more than 30 minutes long with how the last year has gone.
As usual the CoD community over exaggerates everything, there’s not a lot of bad in this game besides dead silence and red dots on the mini map being missing and the movement being a little limited (which if we’re being honest is a subjective thing, some people prefer the movement the way it is)
If it's under an hour it'll be too short
Better stock up on popcorn 😂😂
spawns???? Time to kill???? @@SaifSKH
don't worry, next year they'll be saying how much they loved this game and how trash the current cod is.@@SaifSKH
First game I did camos in because I knew it wouldnt take 2000 hours to get anywhere. Was a lot of fun!
Loved that they added Quickdraw. Its realistic and fits extremely well gameplay-wise. Pistols in general were handled well.
I really liked DMZ and the way the guns looked and felt in multiplayer.
Great videos man
I never thought we'd get here with mw2. I look forward to these videos in particular when the new cod is releasing. Just felt like a long year man
I liked the weapon tuning. As someone who plays Forza/ GT and does A LOT of tuning on cars, tuning guns was also fun.
Totally agree. It felt great, carefully adjusting a weapon until it felt just right and perfect for you.
It sounded cool at the beginning but it was just a gimmick, you literally just "tuned" every attachment as to where you would have the most positive and least negative, not really to your liking
MP was so rough they had to get treyarch to help with the camo designs and ranked 😂
The weapon inspections were really good, I love a good weapon inspection
It´s nice that they continued to release every new weapon for free and also got rid of the boring "play X amount of matches to unlock" - challenges!
Part 2 should be much longer lol
Besides not having dead silence as a perk and red dots on the mini map, what else has MWII done objectively wrong ?? Don’t give me “muh slide canceling” bullshit because that’s subjective, a lot of people prefer it the way it is
@@SaifSKH
Way too much visual recoil
It felt like there was a lot to limit the speed at points
The addition of pay-to-win aspects for DMZ via bundles
@@SaifSKH i have a whole list but im saving it for the “what mw2022 did wrong” video. A few though:
-bad ui
-bad spawns
-too many gunsmith attchments that do the same thing

@@SaifSKHI’ll let Ace inform you lol
Was a nightmare on mnk tho
Exactly the reason why I don't want to get MW3 lol!
I feel you brother
I really noticed how much I love the sounds in mw2 when I played mw3 beta, mw3 sounds like toy guns in comparison.
The game felt great and played great bur was held back by odd gameplay choices and player shenanigans
Cause when I went into private matches, they had some settings that definitely could have made it fine, the game is ok but I certainly won't be rushing back to play it when it's life cycle ends which is really unfortunate and unfair to it
As a solo player I wish they had a pve dmz mode or weekly rotating campaign missions that awarded loot.
The graphics and sound were awesome!
Maps were def solid in this game, some good underrated ones I’d like to see in future games
One detail I really liked was the animation when you’re inside the gunship as it’s shot down
Staged Reloads, I really liked it for all my guns and not just for LMG's. To me, it made some gunfights a bit more natural and more intense, especially when i had my pistol quickdraw in my back pocket just incase someone was about to rush me and i could somewhat take careof them and not have to reload all over again.
"B-b-but muh ReLoAd CAnCel! ItS FAstER an MoRE EfFiCieNT!"
As someone who's been playing CoD MP since CoD4 and has reload cancel literally ingrained into my brain/hands, I'm honestly over it.
When I saw this title, I thought it was going to be a 3 minute video 😂 😅
I made a build on the pump shotgun where it was super short and it had slugs.
That was fun to use.
Then again, i haven't legitimately played since Season 1
Great to have Gunfight back after Sledgehammer's previous over engineered attempt, some of the most fun I had with MP but it should have launched with the game.
+1 to everything you mentioned. I also really enjoy the core gunplay and feel of shooting in MW2--I realize this may be unpopular, but I prefer the weightier and more tactile feel of the larger visual recoil here.
Sameee
I like that they nerfed the slide cancel for this one, it was great to not spectate a bunch of people sliding and getting up like maniacs...
Here are mine
-The campaign was fun with a lot of gameplay variety.
-The gunplay felt really good. It’s one of those things that I can’t describe, it just felt great.
-I know it was an extremely divisive feature but I kind of liked having to use different weapons to unlock certain weapons and attachments. I normally don’t run semi auto rifles in CoD multiplayer but I ended up doing it to get a few weapons unlocked and I’m glad I did
-You can toggle between scorestreaks and killstreaks
-The new camo challenge system made grinding a lot less frustrating. I liked how the camos looked and how each weapon had a unique set that could be applied to all weapons after unlocking them.
-They didn’t combine assists and kills
-The firing range was a great addition despite being extremely barebones. It sucks that this isn’t a mainstay in CoD games
-Graves
-I’m glad console players got an FOV slider
-Inverted flashbang option
-I didn’t touch the ranked mode but everyone who did seemed to really like it. Treyarch did a great job
Console has had fov slider since cw lol
Your men have been... detained
@@kokaop3838 i meant for an MW game in the warzone era, my bad
While I only touched the beta, the scorestreak toggle was fantastic and I’m so happy it’s coming back in MW3, which I do plan on getting.
Maps and camo system I actually quite liked about this game the most.
I back out of 81% of the maps in this game.
It’s like they say “hey you want to play Border?! No? Okay how about Black Gold? No, How about Border?!”
What they did right: animations, graphics, that's about it.
I was very disappointed with sledgehammers handling of the guns and attachments- light bolt on a pump shotgun? bolt AK, weird SVD/AR hybrid, the 9mm AR abomination, the ugly AN94…
That being said, I miss the WW2 weapons in MW2019.
Damn, Ace! Your gameplay was fire in this video!
Thanks for giving a shoutout to DMZ. Credit where credit is due even though its not your thing. I've never been a WZ person and always been straight MP with some zombies sprinkled in. But generally disliking MP this game, I gave DMZ a shot and fell in love and play it way more than MP. I'm worried for its future though...
part 2 is gonna be like an hour long 😂
I really enjoyed the executions as well, when they work.
The toggle between killstreaks and scorestreaks was brilliant!!
My pros are:
Balanced weapon tuning.
Maps for sniping and long shots on hardcore.
Most weapons are balanced
Cons:
Basilisk is still too broken on close quarters
Desert Eagle not being able to one shot on close quarter (minus the headshot)
That oil rig stage
MP5 SD6 is only 3 round burst but no full auto
SBMM heavy
-Frags haven't felt that good since CoD4.
-Drill Change was huge W
-Pistol fastdraw was the best attachment to come out from this game
-Battle rifles had a place in game both as semi auto and full auto guns
-Seasonal events
-The fact that you can pick which sector to grind in the battle pass
-Inspect animations gave character to the guns
-Subsonic ammo was a strong gimmick with tradeoffs
-Optics and eye distance were handled great
-Blackcell though expensive gave great skins for both guns and characters
-Most post launch maps were great
-Weapon unlock and camo grinding incentifised gun variety and allowed even for casuals to grind for the mastery camo... Camos were also pretty neat
If it wasn't for IW being so stubborn, MW2 could have been a much better game
what i loved about invasion is how much xp i could get to level up my guns. it helped indefinitely, especially with snipers.
The headshot noise is one of the best out of all the CoDs. It might be a little too loud though lol
The best part of this game is grind for camos and the secrets in dmz the gun balancing is pretty good too
As a Ground War player, positives are drill charges and ping system. That's it.
Whats crazy to me is that at the beggining of the game i got gold for the m16 before it got buffed 💀 my ass lost some sanity during that period
Dmz was definitely ruined by the sweaty player-hunting squads.
I hope they bring back DMZ but make camping evacuations zones impossible
Ranked kinda sucked because it mixed S&D in with regular modes. That plays so different it should be its own thing.
In my opinion, what I love and like about mw2 was
Time era
Weapons
For sure the newer seasonal maps
Classic maps brought back
Kill streaks
The weapons are actually balanced
Camo challenges
MW2 was great fun to play all year. I loved the various challenges and Camo grinds.
Cheating players is my biggest frustration. So many hackers just ruin the game immersion completely.
i agree with you on the maps, they are amazing for 6v6, but sadly are bad for FFA.
The map designs and layouts were pretty good. The problem is all the penalties for movement and the god awful spawns made them play really bad.
Part 2 (what they did WRONG) should be a "5 part" MINI-SERIES, lasting AT LEAST 1 hour EACH part !!!!!!!
Subjectively:
I liked the Raids, Camo challenge events, and pretty much all content that came with each Season.
It's such a downgrade and it's bad here as well
It's just another way for them to manipulate play time, making you grind through the early ranks until you reach your real rank is not how ranked is supposed to work. You do 10 placement matches, get put in a rank, and fight your way higher
Rocket League does it perfectly, whilst having both systems.
It’s very telling that this video is over 4X shorter than the “what they did wrong” video
How this video went beyond 2 minutes is beyond me, haha!
I love the voice channel system
A thing I liked about MW2 was weapon tuning but they had messed up on not giving us detailed stats like CW and Vanguard.
I think the graphics are better in MWII
I'd probably not mind the awful map layouts of this game if the SBMM wasnt cranked so damn high and blitz fast TTK. IW just cemented themselfs being the worst devs of the tree and Im never touching a IW game ever again.
While visual recoil is egregious, I like that bullets actually go where the optic's dot is pointing. I'm not sure this is really a positive, though, because it's a band-aid fix for a problem that didn't exist before MW19.
