I am going to have to buy one. I am left handed and Ping is one of the few manufacturers that provides a full range for Left handed golfers. Getting the 2 hybrid and will tune down to 15.5. I do not bother with a 3 wood so 15.5 hybrid - perfect.
I love hybrids Michael. I actually did some recent testing of several lofts from both these Ping G 425 hybrids and the Taylormade Stealth's. I liked them both but for me a mid handicap senior golfer that uses senior flex shafts the Ping's were by far the best for me at the end of the day. I ended up putting the # 3,4, 5, 6 and 7 in the bag. I love these G 425 hybrids. I am actually stunned at the overall feel and performance of these Ping's. Best hybrids I have ever used.
Excellent video, as you mentioned something about that helped my tremendously when it came to hybrids was actually deciding to strike it like an iron. That has also worked with my 5 wood as well. Really transformed my ball striking with those clubs.
Hey Big Mike! I had a chance to hit the 425 hybrids outdoors in Phoenix and I think they are top-notch. I generally dislike hybrids because they hook so easily. The flat lie setting helps immensely. The only real competitor to the Ping for those of us that draw or hook the ball is the Mizuno CLK, which is also hook resistant. Thanks for the review.
@@brodygoalie Yes, I prefer to hit a hybrid instead of a fairway wood, primarily because it is easier to hit solid (for me), but I don't like the fact that I can't help but hit a draw with one.
Will need to try the g 425 hybrids vs fairway metals. I have always grown up with fairway metals. I like the sweeping motion of the fairway metals but willing to see if hybrid is more forgiving for me or not plus the height and landing soft. I assume fairway metal will land softer?? Your thoughts. Thank you
@@brodygoalie I don't know that I agree that a fairway metal will land softer. I think it depends on the player, and the loft you are talking about. Srixon makes nice equipment as well. XXIO is great for people with slower swing speeds.
I have always been a long user. I will probably get fitted for g 425 hybrids or fairway metals. I have a mixed bag right now. G 20 driver. G 20 3 fairway metal. G 25 / 5 metal and 7 metal. G 400 / 9 metal. Not going to spend $$ on driver because that is not going to change my score but hopefully I see much better results with G 425s hybrids or fairway metals. I am a senior and my speed swing is slower than the average.
I love my long irons and love my hybrids. But like you asked, if I had to pick, It would be my hybrids. I just hit them so well and more versatility compared to my irons.
Been playing for a couple months. Struggle mightily with the driver and a wicked slice but absolutely stripe my 5 hybrid. This thing could be my go to in the tee box.
Just ordered one to replace my callaway , tend to hit hybrids better of difficult lies coz I can just wack it out. Hence got to keep one in the bag. Unfortunately not vey confident as a replacement for longer irons, tend to either neck it or toe it. Let’s see how the new one performs.
I have always loved PIng hybrids, especially the shallow face. Only thing I’ve always disliked is the turbulators so the G425 line is now something I’ll have to investigate closer. Thanks for the review!👍🏻
My store will stock the G425 line next week. Already have the G710 irons, so I may get a similar 3 Crossover instead of the Hybrid. Too much offset on the 2 Crossover. The G425 14.5 Degree Max may replace my TSi3 3 wood. Like you; I'm tall and dislike fairway woods. Cheers!
I have demoed the 3 hybrid and love the sound and ball flight. I do think there is a slight drop off in distance as I compared to my past Titleist hybrid of the same loft and shaft length though. I would like to try the Tensei shaft as they only had demo Alta shaft at my shop. Definitely think I will look into adding this to my bag instead of 5 wood. Might want to order a slightly longer shaft length on that. Thanks for your review Michael. You certainly get more club head speed that I do!
@@steve827 yeah but surely a lower lofted club will always have a higher smash? I can only assume Mr Newton doesn't hit the centre of the driver.......surely not!?
@@tonyclark6297 nah not always ... I’ve seen 125mph getting less out of a driver ball speed then a 115 it’s all energy transfer and that’s done by the shaft
Enjoyed all of your vids!! Can we assume a hybrid is a bit easier to hit out of the rough vs fairway wood? I have a g 400 / 9 wood. Goes about 155 yards carry. My 7 iron. Is about 130 with a roll out of 140 yards. I would have no issues getting rid of my 5 and 6 iron and replace with the ping g425 hybrids. Your thoughts on this? Much appreciated.
Hola Michael!!! I'm not sure why, but I hit an hibrid n°2 with greater security than a wood n°3. I lose a bit of distance but gain security in the shot.

I’ve got the hybrid and driver had them couple months here in NZ, hybrid is fucking unreal. I have the LST driver and finding it more punishing than I thought I would so looking at swapping for the max
Another good review, however you never say any bad about the clubs you test. That's because you're either a nice guy or you do not want to upset the manufacturer. Let's have some dirt - Lol.
Bloody hell can you stop doing this, it’s costing me a fortune 😄 Only joking keep up the good work, but looks like the new Ping offerings are the way. If they could only do something with the sound of the driver I don’t think ping could be beat.
I love how that looks but I still cannot get over how sharp that blacked out sim hybrid from a couple videos ago looked!
I’ve moved around a bit & tried various options however hybrids give me the best and most consistent performance. I’m tempted by the G425!
I appreciate what you do, Mike! Short, concise, data-centric, good knowledge every time. Keep it up!

I think you need to do a head to head: G425 3h v G410 3h v G425 7w.
Av got the G410 hybrid absolutely unbeatable , easy of hitting and dispersion cant be beat for me gold standard club
Can't wait to try one of these, compare it to my sim max

Cause the ball speed/club head speed ratio is higher... it’s the shaft mate counterbalanced shafts always throw up higher ball speeds

I carry a 2 hybrid,, nothing better to punch out from the ruff, under trees. Etc. Dont have to swing as hard as an iron to get that distance.

It’s a debate for me which I’d get most use out of a 7 hybrid or 7 wood
It shouldn’t be as they aren’t the same.🙄
