I am just going to leave this comment here for people who end up on this video in search of latest Danbury road test info. They mostly use the same routes as shown in the video even though this video is 4 years old. They mainly ask you to pull aside to the side of the curb, then do k turn and then they take to a parking for reverse parking. Also they check the way you change lanes and check for the blind spot. Also Make sure you know the safety signs that show up around the speedometer of the car. Also don't pull out of the dmv parking until your examiner tells you to do and please don't forget the signal when you pull out and pull out at a speed of 5 -10mph because that's the speed you gotta maintain in parking areas. There is a school on the way in the video be careful and watch out for kids in the morning of your test is between 830-930. Also reach early if your extra nervous and make your parent or the person driving you show you the roads around the dmv. ( Especially the one in the video)Trust me that helps. Last but not the least remain calm and listen to the examiner carefully. They are there to help you not fail you. Drive confidently. Good luck to all who have road tests coming up
hey! so for parallel parking, are they going to see if you can pull up and park at a curb or are they going to have you park behind or between a car at the curb? thanks so much
@@angiesiana6801 They dont ask u parallel parking in danbury. They will ask u to pull on the curbside and then reverse your car straight without hitting the curb. Make sure u put the indicator when u pull up to the curb and when u reverse check the mirrors both the side and the back view mirror. if u miss any of these then its a red flag.
I just passed yesterday 2/26/2021. though a lot of things were not done. on the pre test all that was done was vehicle lights and horn were done. there was no wiper check, no hand signals, no defroster, no other questions. on the drive test, i had a perfect score, shoulder checks, perfect k turn, perfect parking close to the curb, perfect lane changes and speed, even had a perfect reversing into a parking space. and i was done in less than 10 mins. I think due to covid they are cutting a lot of things out temporarily. but my instructor was really chill was interested in talking more than anything. they are more nicer at this DMV than the Waterbury one. dont go to Waterbury DMV if your doing your test. the instructors there have bad attitudes on them and failed me for missing the declaration page for an out of state vehicle when it clearly stated on the website i needed either that " Or " the insurance policy. Anyway, good luck future drivers. ( also this wasnt the route i took )
Took the test 3/12/2020. Passed. Test summary: - 25 mph most of the ride - Parking was done at the Sports Dome. Make sure to be within the lines! I almost got penalized for parking too far back. - 3 point turn (K turn) - Took the test at 4:20, returned around 4:45. No longer than 25 mins. - If you approach an intersection with a yellow arrow and it goes out - you MUST stop before the light and yield to other vehicles first! Easy instructor, looked like he didn't want to be there but I'm grateful he passed me!
I took the test 8/14/20, this was the route we took. There was no K-turn, parallel parking, or even pulling into a space. I just drove this route, about 10 minutes, and then backed into a space on the right. It was really easy. Don't go over 25 mph, the person before me got yelled at for going 30mph.
@@rk7508 Backing in from the right, for me he had me pull into a empty parking lot and do it, u also pull straight into the parking spot after the test into the test area, as well as parralel parking, it's not even parralel parking all u do is pull into a side street and park next to the curb, after that u do a 3 point turn out of the side street and continue the route
@@rk7508 make sure u signal before u parralel park, that's what I didn't do and I got a x in the paper, u get 3 errors for basic driving skills and u fail and If u get one x in critical driving skills u automatically fail
So I took my test today and passed first try, but took a much different route. We went left but went straight into the parking lot at the end of the road and was given a specific spot to pull into. We then took a right out of there and did a loop, going up a side street to pull over and do the k turn. After that we drove the rest of the loop back to the dmv. The only marks I got were for speeding a bit, get very comfortable going 25 mph when everyone around you is not, it is harder than it sounds. I legitimately thought I failed because he addressed my speed twice and I was only going 27 or 28. Something else to practice is being able to pull very close to a curb without hitting it, sounds easy but people screw it up often. If anyone has questions or a lot of anxiety feel free to reply and I’ll do my best to help ☺️
Alfredo Criollo it can be, it can vary from instructor, no matter what the route is it will be similar to this because the roads surrounding the dmv are all residential areas like this and have mostly the same speed limits. Remember to not go over 25 and try to relax. You don’t have to be perfect, just show you aren’t a dangerous driver and have the basics down and you will be fine ☺️
Took the test 07/28/2020. Test summary: •••we took a right not a left when we got out of the DMV •••all the roads are 25 MPH •••You HAVE to do a 3 point turn and reverse parking when you get back to the DMV in a drivers test only spot (my instructor lmk beforehand what we were going to do) •••They really look at how you signal/switch into lines •••Btw, when you right out of the dmv you will be by train tracks make sure to SLOW down and check both ways (almost got points off for going “too” fast!) Let me know if you questions!
I had mine here today and failed. The intersections in Danbury are filled with horrible drivers, and I recommend everyone practices turning left in major intersections.
i actually failed backing up because i was unprepared to back into a space directly next to a curb so i backed up more than 3 times so be prepped for that. i guess there are two different routes but the one i got took me to the danbury sports dome which has straight spaces. i doubt the spaces anywhere they take you will be angled.
i got my license on 3/29/19 the route i took is nearly exactly the same as this one. we took a different side road to get back to the dmv but all in all it was the same route. As for parking i did parking next to the curb after turning into the side street, and then from there doing a 3 point turn, make sure u use your signal when u first pull next to the curb. The last bit of parking u did was backing in from the right. u get multiple attempts however as the first time i tried i was right on top of the line. i tried again and got it perfectly in the center. I believe u get 3 attempts to back in. when we got to the dmv make sure u pull in the right area to the dmv not where u initially pull out off. i passed with the one error with the signalling. If u have any questions about your test shoot me a reply and i will do my best to get back to u, just stay calm and think back to all the practise u had u Got this!
