    Your Trezor wallet can be restored on any crypto wallet . If for instance you enter your Trezor seed (words) in to Ledger wallet then you will have access to your funds , it is because your funds are stored on the block chain and any wallet will give you access to your funds as long as you enter your seed .

    I have a question. Is it possible to go from a Trezor Model T to an Ledger Nano X, using the Backup Phrase I originally created with my Trezor Model T?
    And is it perhaps also possible to use this at the same time?
    I hope you can answer me on this 😉

    • @CryptoDad
      @CryptoDad  2 года назад +2

      It is possible. But there might be some discrepancies due to the use of different derivation paths. Ledger and Trezor don't always use the exact same derivation paths. It is a complicated subject:
      blog.mycrypto.com/the-journey-from-mnemonic-phrase-to-address
      medium.com/myetherwallet/hd-wallets-and-derivation-paths-explained-865a643c7bf2
      So If you do it, you may see some coins but not others. However, you can manually transfer coins from Trezor the Ledger after the import. Once you have everything synced up, you are good to go. P.S you may not run in to this problem at all if you are lucky.

    I've had 2 Trezor Model T screen failures on my 2 different devices in a year and a half, both for unknown reasons, and I don't even use them that often. Quality is not good, but Trezor replaced for free. Can you make a video on how to move your crypto account/funds off of one hardware device to another, e.g., move your crypto wallet from a Trezor to a Ledger NanoX? I also have a Nano X that I trust a little more even though I've had 1 hardware failure on it requiring replacement as well. Thanks!

    Hi, CryptoDad. Good video about restoring trezor wallet when you cannot make use of your cold device. But if I need, for example, to format my pc for any reason, I assume I have to install the suite app again. But, would my PIN be enough to have access to my account? Or would I have to use my seedphrase in this case?

    • @CryptoDad

      You have basically created a second device, which is a mirror backup of the original device. You can continue to use them both interchangeably if you wish. Restoring onto a new device does not somehow disable the original one, unless, of course, you decide to reset it.

    I have a question about how Trezor handles data recovery. If my original device is lost, how does Trezor restore all my information onto a new device? This suggests that the data must be stored elsewhere to transfer it to the new device. Is this information only stored on the computer I connect to, or is there an online backup? What happens if both the computer and the Trezor are damaged-will all the information be lost?

      Well, I believe the Trezor gives you quite a few tries. I think it’s like 18. I would try to remember your pin. You’re either miss typing it or it’s the wrong pin. the Trezor doesn’t forget. Only humans forget. Do you have it written down somewhere? Of course if you can’t remember your pin, eventually you’re going to get locked out and have to do a restore.

    hey crypto dad. I lost my trezor.....or misplaced it....but then got it back - i left it in a hotel room safe. My question is: is it possible now that it's been hacked? • @CryptoDad
      @CryptoDad  Месяц назад

      You're right, it's very unlikely that anyone that found it is going to have the skill set to crack the device. But just to be safe, it's probably best practice to restore to a new device and then move everything to a different location. Then you can create a brand new wallet from scratch and move all your crypto there.

      If someone else has your seed phrase, they have full access to your crypto. You are correct anyone with that seed Freis can restore their own device and set up their own pin and access the crypto if you were worried about this then you should move that crypto somewhere else, put it on an exchange or a different device.

    I tried to update the firmware for my Trezor T after being prompted, and followed the usual instructions to do so. It didn’t seem to work correctly and I got a red screen. Then I couldn’t get to my account.
    When I rebooted my computer, and went to the Trezor suite again, I was asked to connect my Trezor as usual, but I got a message on my Trezor screen asking me to go to the suite to ‘get started’. It went to the ‘Set Up Trezor’ option, the same one as when I first set up my Trezor T, as if I was setting up for the first time. I didn’t do anything and contacted support for help, for which I am now waiting. I am worried to be honest.

    You are wrong The seed phrase is stored in Memory of the device so if an attacker has the pin number to that device they can transfer the crypto without even knowing the recovery phrase how ever if the attacker fails 3 attempts entering the pin the device is set back to factory standards so then the recovery phrase is wiped off the device its no longer stored on the device memory chip. To store the recovery phrase back onto the device memory chip he/she must know the recovery seed that's stored on the block chain. Maybe you should explain it properly in your videos

    • @CryptoDad
      @CryptoDad  Месяц назад

      Starting your comment off with the words "You are wrong" Is a very rude and unsophisticated way to address someone. Perhaps you should try to be a little more tactful.
      You totally misinterpreted what I said. I was merely pointing out that most people think that everything is on the device and don't realize that their cryptocurrency is actually stored on the blockchain. And then they freak out if it gets lost, damaged or stolen. I even explicitly stated that the private key was held on the device. So where you got the idea that I was telling people that the private key was not on the device, is beyond me.
      The video demonstrates that your 12/24 word seed phrase can restore your crypto onto a different device. The seed phrase is 12 or 24 words. The device does not store the seed phrase. The device stores the private key.
