Just 1 question..what about passphrase/25th seed recovery.. from where you left the video would we simply go to the passphrase setting and enter our old passphrase/25th key to restore it? Also would we need the pin we originally set for the 25th word or is it the same principle as the 24 word recovery and we can set a new pin for the 25th word also... THANKS

I would like to know after restoring the Ledger Nano from a recovery seed phrase, how can I check which cryptocurrency I have associated to the seed phrase or Ledger device (crypto with funds). Eg. How do I know if I have for example funds on DOGE, or Tron or SOL, etc. without guessing and installing apps and adding accounts to the Ledger just to check if they have funds. Thank you in advance.
One question. I had my ledger stolen, with my seed phrase. I do have a copy of the seed phrase, and I also checked Ledger live to confirm the money/crypto is still on ledger live. It is. I went to purchase a new ledger nano x (1) to follow all your instructions, and I wanted to know if I add a pass phrase if I will be safe at least for the time being if the person who stole it tried to get in to retrieve my crypto? In the meantime, I also purchased another new ledger nano (2) to set up as new, to generate all new seed phrases and then transfer/send all my crypto to the 2nd new devise. In your opinion will this work? I watched so many videos trying to figure how how to restore and then generate new seeds with one device and I thought my head would explode. You are a terrific teacher. Rarely do other channels go into all the steps the way you do. For that, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! Terri

The only thing that makes my brain explode is why Ledger Live performs the "Genuine Device" check AFTER THE SEED PHRASE was inputted into the device. This makes no sense to me. You'd think Ledger Live would want to ensure the device is genuine BEFORE anyone inputs their seed phrase into the device. Please, am I missing something here? Your thoughts would be appreciated. Great tutorial! I have followed the steps in your video and restored my (new) Nano X from my (old) Nano S with the Nano S 24-word recovery phrase. Ledger live manager sees the Nano X however, when I go to receive to verify the receive address I get a Sorry, it looks like your "device is disconnected" message. The new Nano X also will not charge with the USB attached. Have you had any experience with this issue or troubleshooting ideas that are not on the Ledger Live support page?? Thanks in advance.

Hey Crypto dad. I have a NanoS and I set it up four months back on my android phone and it worked lovely. Got it out today.. No light at all when I plug it into the phone. It doesn't even register with the ledger live app. Works perfect on my wife's phone. Same phone. Only difference is she never does android update. The firmware seems to be 2.0 on the ledger. I'm baffled. Any suggestions. Thanks.

I have a strange situation I would like your opinion about please. My Nano X did a successful transfer of $10 to Coinbase then when I went to do the main amount, my BTC had somehow become exactly doubled and any attempt to transfer any BTC from my Nano X resulted in failure. Have you heard of this before and am I right in thinking that the device needs the full restore using my 24 word key? Thanks Man.

No! You don't need to restore your device when importing accounts to a new computer. The device already has all of the wallet information that your need. No need to restore, just reinstall Ledger Live on the new computer using your device to access the accounts.

Thank you very much for this video. I set up my device very recently and bought bitcoin and ETH but next day entered 3 times wrong password. I thought i lost all of it and it was one of the scenario you described in the end :) i restored it successfully now. Just note to you..when you were showing video your 24 words written on sheet are very visible , so may be you want to blurr that part in the video.
Thank you for your kind words. I'm glad you recovered your wallet. By the way, nowadays, I always use dummy 24 word phrases (empty wallets) when I demo the videos. I think it is clearer for the viewers and going back and blurring out portions of my video is tedious editing. ;-)

HI. I have a problem. My computer crashed. After getting that up and installing ledger live when I plugged in the nano S LL went into an update. Since the update my pin and recovery phrase won't work. I did the reset with new recovery phrase that works but no crypto. When I go to the original pass phrase at the end it says pass phrase invalid. Any ideas...

I have btc on my nano x. It says btc ready. When i click noth buttons, it say app is needed. I set up my nano before i connected to the ledger live. If i do a restore from recovery, will it allow me to set it up from the beginning while connected to the ledger live? Been trying to figure this out for over 2 weeks now. How can you recover 2 or more phrases into the same device. Such as if I had 2 Nanos and put things on both but want to combine it into 1 device without having to pay the fees to send it to the other wallet.
Any issue with Nano X not connecting via bluetooth? Keep trying and everything is up to date.

What do you do if after entering your 24 words and the screen shows "Nano is ready", you run it through the test and it fails? I set up my original 24 words using a phone and computer that belonged to my company, who has since laid off a bunch of us and they took back their phones and computers. It was one big PITA trying to get Uphold to stop sending 6-digit verification codes to the phone I no longer have. Finally they updated to my new phone number, but my crypto is somehow floating in the abyss and I need to wrangle it all back to where it was.
Is it possible to create a new ledger account with a seed phrase from a different type of hard wallet such as a trezor or a keepkey? Or to restore a trezor or keepkey account to a ledger?
I believe it will work if the word length matches (Trezor One is 24 word, Trezor T is 12 word). No harm in trying

Trying to reset Nano X and trying to restore a MM 12 phrase recovery phrase however word #3 for MM is VIdeo and this does not exist as a word in Nano X. What do i do? I mean i see a ton of video where people are restoring MM phrases into Nano X recovery so all their asses are protected via Ledger. How are they doing this?

CryptoDad, can I do a reset on an existing Ledger in order to be confident in a new 24 word key? It does not currently have any crypto on it. And if so will I need to delete and reload any crypto apps that are on it. Thanks, Jay
You can do a reset by entering your pin incorrectly three times. Upon reset all of the apps will be deleted. You will need to reinstall them once you have created the new configuration and written down your new 24 word recovery phrase.

So iv had a leger nano S for a couple of years, i was wondering if i could just plug in my key phrase on a leger Nano X without any problems? or would it just be better to make a new key phrase and just move everything over tp the new wallet?
Absolutely, you can use any 24 word backup phrase to restore any Ledger device.

Once you have the account restored, you can access the passphrase accounts, the same as before. Just enter the pass phrase or set up the alternate pin, using the same passphrase you used the last time.

I don't think so. If you are worried, you can set it up as new to do the genuine check. Just leave the wallets empty. After that, you can reset (enter pin incorrectly three times) and then do your restore.

Thinking of buying a NANO, cautionary tale; Don’t be fooled into thinking your crypto is stored on your NANO device it isn’t. Which was recently confirmed by Ledger support “Please note that your crypto assets are not stored inside the Ledger device nor the Ledger Live application”. I, recently lost access to thousands of Crypto I thought was stored on my NANO device because this was how it was advertised, but, it is NOT true.
A recent failed upgrade of Ledger Live exposed the truth.
Ledger support solution was to delete the Ledger Live app and reinstall it, I did this, but, it destroyed ALL the crypto accounts on Ledger Live and NANO. So, I have lost thousands of crypto, I would have been better off leaving them on the Crypto exchange. So, if you are considering buying a NANO, read my cautionary tale, “Caveat Emptor” “Buyer Beware”.
