It's a FACT that defense back then was allowed to be more physical, but that doesn't necessarily mean players were easier to stop than now, or that today's players are far worse defenders than back then. Many people use that for some downright ridiculous statements (Jordan could score 50 a game without hand checking easily). There is a lot less 1 v 1 defense in today's NBA and a lot more team defense, and since ISO heavy players are pretty rare, their skill set becomes far more recognizable.

not saying he's never traveled before, but about 95% of the time harden does a step back, for the first outward step that most people count as a step, he only has one hand on the ball, on top of it or on the side. it doesn't count as a step, because at that point he could fake the step back and continue his dribble (the ball isn't gathered). Ray Allen has a youtube clip. I think it was Dan Patrick's show, where he said with a straight face that MJ would average something like 47ppg in today's NBA

I mean, with the way harden is averaging as much as he is, I don't find it too unbelievable. But by the same token, Jordan didn't have a 3 ball. He'd have to take a shit ton of shots to do that. At some point, I feel like it would take his teammates out of the game. Would he be playing winning ball? I'm not sure myself. Either that or he would have to learn to facilitate too(assuming he had 3 pt shooters on his team).

Onlyrealmusic4life the 3 point argument is stupid....how many 3s average harden? 4-5? Idk. Is 5 point more only by shooting 3s over 2s.
      MJ could And1 everybody so...

@@eingelvf Is it really that dumb when he would be going up against a 3 pt shooting team like GSW? Look at how many of their points come off 3s per game. That's why they can go on a run like in the blink of an eye.

@@KG-zp6so I'm not sure about that Rodman, dumars, Payton Michael Cooper. Now if you say somebody like Sidney moncrief or Vernon Maxwell. I will give you that but the trifecta is MJ pip Payton. There were big men too like Ewing, Hakeem, mourning, Nate Thurmond and Russell. Pip and Giannis have the same wingspan and let that sink in. Pip defensive iq might be the best ever.
