    It always sounds incredibly harsh to me when I hear you can get fired for being sick in the US... I live in France, and it’s literally illegal to fire someone who is out sick if they have a doctor’s note. On the other hand, we can’t call out without providing a doctor’s note, otherwise it’s a no show which you can technically get fired for...
    But on any case, good video :)

    Hey, i just have two things to add to your video. So a restricted rehire is status where you are no rehire for 6 months and then you will be able to apply again afterwards. It is a lot harder to get rehire but it is possible. You can get restricted rehire for anything. If you do get term on your CP, you will have to leave by 11am the next day. So i had a friend that got term and she found out late at night and she had a few hours to figure out how she gets back home. I was a CP in the spring 2016.

    I’ve been really sick for the last 2 weeks so I would definitely be termed 😂🙈 I can imagine it’s a lot of pressure to be the perfect Disney employee all the time. Cast members, dcp, really are amazing!

    One small note here. It is possible to get a 12 point reprimand without having had any before. For example, let's say you do a year long CP and call in once per month (on average), you would then get a reprimand on your 12th call in, but that could be your first, so you may not necessarily get terminated. A similar scenario could play out with the 90 and 180 rules.

    If you do a performance or safety "offence" you will most likely get a coaching before getting an actual reprimand!

    Can you maybe make a video about how scheduling works?

    • @PartOfBrookesWorld
      @PartOfBrookesWorld  4 года назад

      It’s very straight forward. Disney sends u a schedule every week, for the dcp there is no consistency to it. You can trade shifts if u don’t like it, I do have an entire video on shift trading on my channel

    That’s quite a catch-22 policy on points being issued for missing work because of illness. I assume that a lot of CM’s on the college program go to work sick. It almost makes me want to wear a mask while I’m there.

    • @PartOfBrookesWorld
      @PartOfBrookesWorld  5 лет назад +1

      I don’t disagree with you. In my personal opinion the sick policy is kinda unreasonable, and going to work sick will only cause more cast to get sick. But it is what it is unfortunately

    Is there anywhere on the Hub to see how many points or reprimands you have?

    Just a helpful tip my friend actually got termed at WOD for calling out after going into the parks Spring 2018. He even requested a leader callback. The leadership there was fine with it but I his file was audited and he was termed.

    • @PartOfBrookesWorld
      @PartOfBrookesWorld  5 лет назад

      I worked at WOD and unfortunately that doesn’t surprise me - from what I’ve heard the leaders put some sort of note on the file or something if you do a call back (I have no idea the specifics) so maybe that wasnt done?Like I said though there are so many things that are situational it is hard to get a straight answer on anything unfortunately. I’m extremely sorry for your friend tho. That really does suck

    • @audreymeach9826
      @audreymeach9826 5 лет назад

      Part Of Brookes World I just double check with him and he said that it was actually cuz when he called out he wasn’t sick. He was helping someone who was. So if you are sick you should be fine like you said. My bad!

    Say I call out sick and call out sick the next 2 days under the same point but then I have 2 days of vacation and my scheduled days off can I call out the day I return to work under the same point since I only called out 2 days after the first call out? Sorry if that’s confusing

    Is there a probation period for how many points you can get after being a new hire

  • @yiselcampos435
    @yiselcampos435 2 года назад

    How do you request days off? And do they get approved? Is there a video on requesting days off?

    • @PartOfBrookesWorld
      @PartOfBrookesWorld  2 года назад +1

      It’s as simple as logging into your calendar and clicking “request day off” unfortunately days off are never guaranteed and they don’t have to give you any days off if they don’t feel like it

  • @starrbaby507
    @starrbaby507 2 года назад

    question i’m a new hire and one call off day is 3 points? late is 1.5. what is the max points you can have?

    • @Cleavatr0n
      @Cleavatr0n 2 года назад +1

      No. Call out/No-Show is 1 point and being late is 0.5 points.

    I hate it only allows for 5 minutes to clock in early. Maybe they will change this next year. Is there anyway to convince the company to change this?

    • @PartOfBrookesWorld

    • @PartOfBrookesWorld
      @PartOfBrookesWorld  2 года назад +1

      It’s actually quite difficult to get THAT many sick days, you’d have to be calling out like once a week to actually get fired for it lol

    Does trading shift cause points?

  • @laurencimorellibow
    @laurencimorellibow 4 года назад +1

    Does anyone else think the sickness procedure is totally wrong and unreasonable? Say you get the flu and you get a doctors note confirming that you have the flu. You need 14 days off because you’re incredibly ill.. you would get 4/5 points (even with condensing 3 into 1 with your doctors note... so they’re still discriminating against you because you got ill. I thought that was illegal?

    • @jakeryan4545
      @jakeryan4545 4 года назад +3

      No in Florida its not illegal. I agree its dumb. I am not sure about Disney's policies, but I will say that for service jobs I have had, there was no "points" given if you felt ill and traded your shift or gave away your shift. You would only get in trouble if you couldn't find someone to take your shift. Still sucks, but it wasn't like getting sick automatically meant getting a point.
